Unfortunately my pants were hemmed unevenly and Mr. T refused to correct the problem ! Although, he was happy to take my money.

The guy was SUPER nice & did my alterations great. However, I found it really expensive! $45 to adjust 3 tops.... Not sure how much people normally pay for this. But also my fault for not asking beforehand I just didn't think it was gonna be this expensive. I would probably go again just ask the price beforehand read more

First visit was 4 stars, definitely a fan. Got some pants hemmed for $10 each. Slightly more expensive than $7 that I used to get elsewhere, but that was also years ago, so maybe inflation? He did a great job. Minus a star for being cash only. Second visit was 2 stars. I had two pairs of pants tailored from straight to skinny. Because he had to do both sides of the pants, he quoted me $20 each, which was the most I was willing to pay, so I agreed. When I returned to pick up my pants, he said he misquoted me and asked for $30 each, which I told him wasn't worth it to me and had I known that, I would have just bought new pants. He has my phone number on the receipt, but never bothered to call and ask if I still wanted it done for 50% more. Since he already tailored them, I felt I had to pay him. It's cash only, and I had only brought what he quoted me, so I had to use the ATM at the liquor store across the street. He was nice enough to deduct my ATM fees from my balance though. Third visit was 1 star. I went home and tried on the tailored pants. One of them was wide and loose around the knees which makes no sense. I brought them back to ask him to fix it, and he insisted that he did exactly what I asked for... which was to match the shape of another pair of pants I have, and that the wide knees is a result of a different fabric, even though the pants are the same except for color. He reluctantly agreed to redo it, and it came out fine the second time. Overall, he's good for hemming pant legs, but I don't appreciate the surprise charges and him not owning up to imperfect alterations. read more

Talk about service with a smile!!! After leaving another alteration because there was no way she complete around a simple dress alteration in 3 days, I came to Ta. He greeted with me with a huge smile and a 'how can I help you?' I let him know I'd need an alteration with quick turnaround, he replies with a grin, 'When do you need it? Tomorrow?' His competitor was trying to charge $35 for the alteration he charged $17 for. Quick turnaround. Did I mention he's the friendliest guy ever? I won't be going anywhere else & highly recommending him to everyone! read more

This place was recommended to me by A Better Deal Tuxedo over in Bird Rock... I had purchased a new suit and decided if a tux place gives QTA a thumbs up then I should try them out. The service was super quick as well as the turn around of their service. The price was better than other places that I had been to and the work was seamless. Finally, they are open until 5pm on Saturdays!!! How awesome is that!?! read more

This husband and wife team are really nice. I've been coming here for years because they're very nice, always accommodate rush (even same day) requests, and are very reasonably priced. I also like they have a changing room and ask you to try on everything to be altered so they can mark it accurately. Additionally they are open all day Saturdays and late during the week for people like me who need to pick up our clothes after work. read more

We went there to tailor a suit we got for my father in law for our wedding. the experience was horrible. never go there... First the place is a complete mess, kind of dirty but well we were thinking "maybe the guy is good"... My father in law brought the suit, the guy took some measures for adjustments, we were already kind of sceptical the way he was doing it, also he doesn't speak a good english so it was very difficult to communicate, but again, we were thinking "oh maybe the guy is good"... He told us to come back two weeks after but to our surprise asked us to pay upfront... so we did pay right away even if we were a bit surprised about that,.. we pay in advance even if we haven't seen the result... but well we didn't want to create problems so we paid and came back two weeks after... when my fiancée and her father came back the guy was super rude, not paying attention to them, like here is your suit, deal with it i don't care about you, i'm not even going to ask you to try it to see if it fits you... so my father in law tried it and the alterations were horrible...it was not fitting him at all... it was almost a joke...was worse than the beginning... the tailor basically ruined the suit... he didn't want to hear anything and almost insulted my fiancée and her father... leaving my fiancée in tears about this whole situation... we brought our suit back to the place where we bought it, and they brought another tailor they knew to the store to help us, but basically this new tailor told us that the guy basically ruined the suit and there was nothing to do... fortunately this place where we bought our suit was very understandable of the situation and took the ruined suit back... in conclusion we have been to many tailors but never had such an horrible experience, never go there seriously, there are way better tailors in PB or La Jolla. read more

Had to get a vest altered, and a friend recommended these guys. Walked in and was pleasantly greeted. Told them what I wanted and I was out in 5 minutes. They even asked when I wanted to pick it up, which was nice being able to choose. Vest was perfect, they were friendly and the prices reasonable. I would go back. read more

I get every dress shirt I buy altered. I have been to many different Tailor Shops throughout San Diego. This is by far the best one I have ever been to. The owners take great pride in every alteration they do. I will never go to another Tailor shop again! read more

I went to QTA alterations hoping to shorten some jeans and alter a dress. The owner quoted me $62 to shorten 3 pairs of jeans and pull up straps on a dress and shorten it. He kept on selling me like "lets keep the original stitching on the pants," but not telling me that this costs $15 instead of $9. I ended up leaving just the jeans, not the dress, thinking this was too expensive. He shortened 2 pairs OK, but one pair came back uneven, with a hole on the pant leg that was not there before. When I brought the pants back to show him that the pant legs were different lengths, he was really frustrated. I showed the owner the different lengths but he would just hold them in his hands so that you couldn't tell they are uneven, and told me, see, they are even. When I tried to tell him he did not do a good job, he barely seemed to listen, then he would say, "are you done?" and show me again they were fine. He would not listen, and ended up yelling at me " I've been here 20 years!" and I walked out, thinking that this was the worst customer service experience I have had in Pacific Beach since moving here 6 months ago. read more
