Since it's not a typical bridal salon, I asked where they send the dresses to get altered and the salesgirls shared their source, Gitty Design. Gitty Design is just a few stores down from Nicole Miller and typically you can go to the Nicole Miller store and they call Gitty (I'm guessing that's the owners name?!) and she runs over to pin you up there. But I decided to go into Gitty Design myself....to see where the magic happens. And magic was created! I LOVE my wedding dress even more after Gitty put a her skills to work. I had the dress taken in (YES! My dieting is working!) and hemmed. She added a bustle and I also purchased a crystal sash from Etsy.com to add. Gitty secured this onto my wedding dress perfectly and even managed to make the excess ribbon into a beautiful rose. It seriously looks like it was designed this way! From being in Gitty's workshop, you can just see and tell that she has years of experience and is a master at her craft. She's no nonsense, get in, get out. Just how I like it! The total cost was $210. Pretty pricey. But it's a WEDDING DRESS! I imagined it would cost this much and was prepared. Pay no expenses when all eyes will be on you. If you have something special you'd like altered, designed or added to, I definitely recommend a visit to Gitty Design!

I have very little experience getting items tailored so I don't know if that was an appropriate price or not. I didn't have time to go price hunting. But honestly, $80 for a dress I've had hanging in my closet for years is preferred to the agony of last-minute dress shopping (for something new that I would have likely needed hemmed anyway). We just happened to see the shop when were in the area and thought we'd check them out. Granted the suit did come from Mens Warehouse but Enzo made the suit like it was made for my husband. My husband said he is going to bring back his other suits since Enzo did such a great job. It's a very quaint little shop but lots of ready to wear suits and you can also order custom made shirts. I recently took a sport coat to have the sleeves taken up and have them put in working sleeve buttons. Romeo is the only person I trust to do this job. He also makes bespoke suits.
