I do not recommend this company. This company installed my air conditioning six years ago. Who also performed the maintenance on it. Told me it needed cleaning. I paid &1095.00 for it to be cleaned. Then Tried to charge me $5000 for a compressor. I called another company to come out. Come to find out it wasn't in the compressor. I would say this company sucks, and they probably do, but they never returned to do the work I tried to have them do. They came out to my condo & quoted me some work. I called them back about 4 months later to speak to them about when to get the work started and I left messages for the plumber 3 times......that's 3 opportunities I gave them to call me back & they didn't do it. It's a long story and I won't go into all the details, but due to an extremely poor diagnosis of a leak in the ceiling of the unit below ours, we ended up cutting holes in our bathroom drywall to repair a t-joint running off our bathroom vanity only to have the major cause of the leak not be identified (it was a pinhole in a water line far away from the drain that was identified) leading to a continued leak into the ceiling of the unit below. There was apparently a small leak coming off the drain from our bathroom vanity, but that could never have been the cause of all the water logged drywall in the unit below us. The misdiagnosis led to us keeping the water off in our unit for over a week and leaving our one bathroom completely unusable (the toilet had to be removed to access the t-joint in the wall), until the main cause of the leak was finally recognized. Quality First initially offered to work with us on the bill for the work in our unit, but eventually refused to adjust our bill at all, since they say there was in fact a leak from the drain. I found the entire process of communicating with them to be very frustrating. I repeatedly requested that they send video and other information about the repair and leak, which they took over 10 days and finally a discussion with the service manager to have them sent (although I still haven't received a video of the actual leak itself). I had used their service in the past and was very satisfied with it, but after this recent experience, would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Nobody showed up between 1pm and 3pm. Nobody called. I asked to speek with the manager, Audra, who insisted I was a liar. Quality First Service Group is EGREGIOUSLY overpriced, so much so it's borderline comical. I'm baffled they're still in business, given how absurdly more expensive they are relative to the competition. My tenant called them to fix water heater issue, and they came to provide a quote. They charged a staggering $274 JUST FOR THE QUOTE!! They determined the gas valve needed replacing, and they stated it would cost $770 to replace (just for the labor, not including the actual replacement part). They then tried adding supplementary BS recommendations (similar to the auto shop when you get your oil replaced - no thank you, my air filters don't honestly need to be replaced) for $1000+. These prices seemed extremely high to me, so I called a couple plumbing companies with high reviews. I learned that the standard fee for a quote in the industry is $75. Furthermore, another company quoted me at $308 to fix the issue. I gladly accepted their offer, and was very pleased with the service and result. $75 compared to $274 for the quote. $308 compared to $770 for the repair. Quality First Service Group isn't 10% or even 20% more expensive than the competition, they're 150% - 250% more than the competition!!! Avoid this company like the plague, unless for some reason you'd like to get ripped off. read more

I messaged the business using the provided messaging service 8/18/2017 about a project I needed help with, a clogged exterior drain... I just now, today, 5/12/2020, received a response from Howard (business owner) that "someone will be giving me a call." I do not believe they are hurting for business if they can ignore their yelp page. However, I don't think they should since they are loosing stars (2017 they were at least 4 stars)! I would not hesitate to recommend Quality First in a heartbeat. We are in the midst of a DIY bathroom renovation but required a pro for some of the important plumbing work. Damen called ahead of time to ensure I was home and ready, which is much appreciated and something I don't get very often. TJ and Gavin arrived right on schedule, ready to get to work. In no time we had a new toilet flange, along with all of the drain pipe replaced from the toilet location to the main waste line in the home. Our washing machine drain clogged at our condo in Denver. I went down 15 feet with a drain snake, no luck. I called building maintenance who called these ripoff artists. If the clog is lower than the unit, it is the management's responsibility to fix the issue. When the plumber showed up, he told me he went down 20 feet and could find nothing, and the drain was now working. Yet he stated on the invoice that he only went down 5 feet, so now management is sticking me with the bill. Here's the worst part. THEIR BILL. After I saw a pipe leak in my ceiling at my condo, I had Quality First come out to fix the leak. Billy, Thomas, and David came out in the evening after a long day of work to help with my emergency. They were extremely knowledgeable, educated me on the causes of the leak, treated my home with respect, and made the repair experience as enjoyable as it could be! Who knew we could be laughing and joking together during an emergency repair! I trust their work and will be calling them for future repairs. Zachary D is da man. He was able to identify diagnose and resolve my issue of what appeared to be poop water dripping in my bathroom. Thanks to him the horrible nausea inducing smell was put to an end so I'm able to live in the apartment again. Poop dripping on you while you're brushing your teeth is a horrible thing to experience. The worst part is the stains. Sure the smell-yeah, but the stains leave a permanence that rivals sin itself. The color, the consistency...just everything about it is so obviously the byproduct of excrement. You can paint over it, sand it, try to bleach it but the poopy is resilient you see- and that's why I'm glad Zachary D was here to fix it. Without him who knows. Perhaps the poopy would finally gain the upper hand and consume me in my sleep- it wouldn't be the first time a sentient excrement has tried to end me. Nonetheless I continue on towards brighter, less poopy times. Hopefully the amount of times I fight the poopy is a sliding scale- as it seems to be diminishing, my fight has been won; my lessons never forgotten. read more

Buyer beware... Summary of Issue: Price Gouging. Quality First quoted $1,000 for a replacement part that was $50 online. Details: Furnace stopped working. We did some prelim troubleshooting on our own to no avail. We'd had a positive, informative interaction with a Quality First Service Tech a year ago (as a subcontractor hired by our general contractor for unrelated work on our home). So we were happy to call Quality First to address the furnace problem. Patrick (different service tech) arrived same day (Quality First was responsive in this way), and was again very pleasant, thorough, and informative. 1. Immediately upon arrival (not yet having seen our furnace), Patrick quoted a service call price that was more than double what we'd been told earlier at the time of booking the appointment. The issue wasn't the price (nor Patrick's quote), the issue was expectations set at initial call. We called Quality First, and after a bit of respectfully pleasant dialog, a manager offered to waive part of the service call fee. Moving on... 2. Patrick diagnosed the furnace problem as a bad control board. During his thorough review of his diagnostic assessment with us, he recommended we buy a new furnace because a) ours is old, and b) he said the cost to replace the control board alone would be $1,000 (which seemed high for a motherboard). However, we trusted his assessment and recommendation, and asked for a quote from him for a couple of new furnace options+install. A few days later, we received a summary of his visit including many nice photos of the current furnace-related equipment at our house. We did not receive the quotes for a new furnace. 3. Before following up with Quality First and scurrying to research & buy a new furnace, we decided to check out some online videos about diy replacement of a furnace control board, looked up the part number, and looked up the price of the part. It was $50 online with free 2-day delivery. We replaced the bad board ourselves two days later, and our furnace has been working great since. We anticipate replacing our furnace in the near future, however we won't be using Quality First services again. read more

He was very friendly and answered my many questions this company was great to work with easy process and did a great job I would recommend these guys if you have any plumbing work done and make sure you ask for Bryan to do the work!.. The day they returned, the guy was 2.5 hrs late. No call. Exaggerated problem and what would be involved to fix it.. Quoted the job at $600. Outrageous! I said no way.. He charged $45 for a trip charge. Got estimates from two other companies for $250.00. No trip charges and free, honest estimates. And not near the time or amount of work Q1 quoted. i'd call them Quality Zero. I waited a full day for them and they no-showed, saying "paying customers" had an emergency - as if I were getting free service. They called me 30 minutes before the window they promised to warn of delays (after convincing me to book them by waiving the trip fee). Almost 2 hours after that window ended, I was informed they could come the next day. Upon arrival they tried to charge $250 to snake my drain and refused to hear me out when I asked them to match another quote due to their lack of QUALITY service the prior day. I made a huge mistake. I gave Quality First Plumbing and Heating a stellar review a few weeks ago after my first appointment. I should have waited. After the work was done, when I turned on my hot and cold water lines, there was a leak. I have attempted to get this leak fixed and other follow up issues addressed and they have been terrible. They keep postponing appointments, stating the plumber is on another job that will take him the rest of the day. I was scheduled for someone to address the leak today and just received a call (after waiting from 1:00-3:00) stating that the plumber will not be here today and they won't be able to fit me in for two more days. I run a business and cannot use water buckets to catch leaks. I rescind my original review and suggest you use someone else who not only provides the service needed but is just as vigilant about follow-up when there is an issue. read more

I had an HVAC failure in a rental apartment I own. Since I am en engineer, I diagnosed the problem to be a bad 24VAC transformer that was fried by a shorted Contactor inside the Central AC unit on the roof. Since I am 75 years old, I wanted someone else to climb a ladder to replace the contractor. The repairs took 2 hours and cost me $898 !!! Quality made it seem like the most challenging diagnosis even though I told them up front what I thought was wrong. They justified the price by claiming that the parts cost a few hundred dollars. I found them on Amazon for a total of $60, which made their claim deceptive. It also meant they charged me over $400 an hour!!! That is USURY!!!!I Worse, Sam miscommunicated to me (deliberate???) that the job was going to be $464. have another rental in the same building that had similar problem. I bought the parts from Amazon, and paid another guy $100 for doing the same work. read more

Found this place on google. Called for a same day repair at 12pm. Knew that there would be a trip charge and a diagnostic fee. Operator quoted me that it's no charge, but was skeptical. I panicked as I didn't want to pay cash for scamming purposes so reached back out to understand where the communication came from and why would you ask for cash. Took advantage of women who did not know better on estimate. Advised of a "trip charge" to come out then called my wife once they got there and told her it would be another $189 to evaluate the problem. Called manager and was told the trip charge is just to show up and they charge again for an estimate. This was not disclosed on my original call or I would have never agreed to it. Too many other companies that give free estimates. Don't be fooled! On top of that got a ridiculously high estimate to complete the work. Didn't do that right the first time, but called the company and they sent the plumber back for free (I paid a lot for the first time) but then at the end, the shower handled was installed at the reversed direction. I ended up calling my own handyman at that point to just change the direction. read more

Absolutely terrible service! The technician that was sent to our home ruined our plumbing. We have not had continuous running hot water in over 2 weeks since Quality First has replaced our hot water heater. We have gone without heat or hot water with a new born in the home we have had to shower at friends and family's homes. They have been to my home over 8 separate occasions and have spent over 20 hours installing a new tank trouble shooting and re installing a 2nd hot water tank and we still do not have hot water. According to Audrey, office Manager they sent their "best plumber" Paul. Paul did not install the proper hard ware, he used commercial hard ware on our residential home. Afterwards they sent Wayne "Master Plumber"; he also failed to trouble shoot and repair the damage they caused.It's the cold season in Colorado, and quality first has no answers or solutions for us! The hot water heater from 1992 was working just fine before this company came along. The office staff has not been helpful and suggest my lawyers should contact them. Unprofessional un-knowledgeable and not trained properly. Update: The owner of the company Howe called to offer his "condolences" somehow skipped the part where he took any sort of accountability for his technicians poor installation or lack of basic communication skills or diagnostics. After emphasizing all his many years of experience Howe offered a poor explanation for the botched install stating it was manufacturers poor quality 'defective product' but then stated on the same recorded call moments later his company is the states largest distributor for this same brand. In conclusion, Quality First Plumbing works with Poor Quality Products or Poor Quality Installers or Both. Quality was not first on this occasion. 2nd update: It has now been over 2 weeks since the install, our hot water heater is still failing. This review is WAYYY overdue. I'm so sorry for not posting sooner!! Quality first was called to my condo due to an issue in the building affecting my unit. They had to come out twice, and while the first visit was fine, it was the second plumber who really stuck out to me. Eli was just wonderful. He was professional, kind and knowledgeable and he went the extra mile to help explain what was going on and how it can be helped in the future. He suggested a couple products I could use, and he pointed out another issue he found that was unrelated. And since the issue had a quick and easy fix, he took care of it instead of suggesting it would need to be a separate service. One of the most discouraging things about a company is when they 'nickel and dime you' so to speak. To be honest, it was the HOA that paid for the repair for which they were sent out to fix, but the separate small issue he found, I would have had to pay for. But, because it was just so quick and easy and he was here, he tightened up a seal for me that was loose and told me what to keep an eye out for in the future. I just cannot say enough how much I appreciated his kindness and professionalism, and I should add, I was especially neurotic about the plumbing issue since my home flooded early this year. He wasn't annoyed by my hovering and asking questions, he was patient and understanding of my concerns. Again, I cannot speak to their pricing, but I can say that I would recommend them based on the interaction with Eli. Unfortunately, I have been blessed with faulty plumbing. I've actually had a myriad of issues and have experienced different plumbers in Denver ranging from both ends of the spectrum. Today, I had the pleasure of receiving expert service from Nik Lawhorn, who is a licensed Master Plumber with Quality First Plumbing. I live in a condo and there happened to be a crack in the main drain pipe that I share with my upstairs neighbor. Although, I did need a lot of my wall taken out, Nik not only quickly identified the problem but he also fixed it on the spot. I honestly anticipated this problem to be drawn out over at least a couple of visits, like I've experienced in the past and am extremely impressed. In addition to being efficient, Nik was also very pleasant and approachable. Better still, I felt like he respected my time, which I appreciated most of all. I would definitely do business again with this company. I've noticed that most of the negative reviews are all about price. You get what you pay for. Plumbers are not cheap, especially the good ones. read more

Long story short, they were dishonest about billing procedure leaving me to send multiple emails to HOA about responsibility. I wouldn't trust them to do any work on my home. I had to use quality first plumbing to snake my main line when it was clogged, as that's who was sent out by the HOA. The work they did was fine, probably overpriced ($390 to snake two lines) but they were either dishonest or ignorant of the billing process. I had a plumbing company come out before, through the HOA, and I was told that they couldn't bill me, they HAD to bill the HOA and then I would be billed if I was responsible. In this case, I was told on Friday evening, after 3 days of water leaking into my basement, that they couldn't get a hold of the HOA because it was 5:01pm and, therefore, I would either have to pay the bill that night, or they wouldn't do the work and I'd have to scramble to find a plumber over the weekend. I was basically put in a situation where I either pay them, which was against the HOAs policy or wait until Monday to find a plumber. I spoke with the HOA that following Monday and was told this: "I am not sure why you were told that you had to pay the invoice or the work wouldn't be completed.  They were supposed to bill the HOA and you are correct whatever was your responsibility would be charged back to you.  I have contacted Quality First to address this issue and the matter that you were told you had to pay the invoice." It took a month of emails with the HOA to get them to agree they were responsible for half of the work (total was 710) and I'm still reading through the docs to see if they should be responsible for the other half. They kept saying they were trying to get a hold of the quality first supervisor and had left voicemails. read more

If you would like to pay at least twice the price for a typical water heater all because they provide "great service", then sure, go with these guys. My Fiance' said it best, "they're Crooks with a smile". Our technician Paul was cool and professional but we should have paid more attention to when he said (more than once) that their water heaters are "not the MOST expensive but they're not the cheapest either". I can't imagine them being any more expensive than what we paid. We were charged a 40 gallon "skinny" water heater ($2,071.61), a 2.2 gallon expansion tank ($270.65), 30" inch drain pan ($105.33) and installation for almost $2,500 total. On Amazon, the same exact tank is valued at $685, installation would have been $530.79, the expansion tank that we were told was required to have is valued at $52.99 and the drain pans are about $10. Shame on us for not doing our research before agreeing to this. Shame on Quality First Plumbing and Heating for taking advantage of people in an emergency situation. Learn from our mistake and save yourself some money. DO NOT GO HERE. read more

This is a $20.00 part that just screws in, easy fix, and I was charged $332.00 for this valve replacement. I emailed them and asked how they could justify the cost and I never heard back. Do your Research as I did...and then SELECT THE BEST as I did! Quality First Plumbing has a Better Business Bureau rating of A+, and to a retired educator...the rating is well deserved. SERVICE and CUSTOMER SATISFACTION is "IMPRESSIVE" (which is very hard to find these days). After an informative and friendly conversation with the owner (Howie) about my Water Heater replacement need, I knew immediately that I found the right company for the job! We discussed options and upfront pricing while we BOTH logged onto the Water Heater Product Site. I was so impressed ! Well, the decision was easy after that to hire Quality First to replace my Water Heater. I knew that I would not be disappointed with the service and QUALITY of the product I was purchasing. The service technician/installer (JACOB) arrived well within the 2 hour service window of 9am-11am...arriving at 9:30. (Now that was a first, since most service techs that I have encountered arrive closer to the END TIME, if at all...you know those times when you took off work and they call LATE to try to reschedule because of "transportation issues".) NOT THIS TIME...Jacob was professional, well mannered (wore shoe covers to avoid soiling the carpet) and completed the installation of my new Natural Gas Water Heater in about 2 hours. Considering the amount of work that was involved with this installation...I was very pleased with the efficient and professional installation. JOB WELL DONE! I always prefer to support "local businesses" with my service needs...and in this particular case...I have found the ONLY PLUMBER in TOWN that I will ever do business with...QUALITY FIRST lives up to it's name!!! read more

The plumber, Jordan, who came out was very friendly and talkative. Because we liked him so much, we were slow to provide this review. First he kept trying to up service and sale products like bioclean that were twice as high as you could buy on Amazon for same size. Then he told us he only had one pair of gloves and had already taken his equipment out and informed us he could not clean out drain as he would have to charge extra for doing what he did not do correctly. The plumber wanted to wash his soiled hands in the kitchen vs. laundry room or bathroom. Bizarre behavior. We felt this was a terrible company that is endorsed by Tom Martino. As seniors, we felt taken advantage of. When the office called we shared this information and they blew us off. We received referrals cards today. Unbelievable. Please use another company. read more
