One thing that has never changed based on past reviews is that there is no hot water. We were forced to stay here for a week for business because all the other hotels were sold out. Only one day did I have hot water for a shower the rest of the days the water was lukewarm and water pressure is nonexistent. Cold cereal and hot waffles were the norm for breakfast, breakfast sandwich to heat up were available in the fridge. We were in a room at the end of the hall and the WiFi was very sporadic. I did like the larger fridge than usual in the room. There are limited electrical outlets in the room so keeping all our devices charged was a challenge. I like to bring our Roku stick to stream movies with but this hotel has a password on the TV that didn't allow you to change inputs. Overall the feeling of this hotel is that they try to control the customer experience to maximize profits and they don't really care about the overall customer satisfaction. Walked in and it smelt so bad of mold mixed with a very disgusting smell. Can not explain the stench but it was AWFUL. Went to rooms and floor felt like you were going to fall through it. There were several places that the floor was very very soft and felt unsafe to say the least. Mold on ceiling and very dirty. The courtyard was an entire disaster and FILTHY. Very unsafe with dirt, tons of the owners plants EVERYWHERE, grime, and VARMINT TRAPS in the courtyard. Looked more like a junkyard than a courtyard. My two year old grandson wanted to be outside and there was not a safe place to be outside with him due to the courtyard being not only unsafe for an adult but absolutely unsafe for a two year old to play with supervision of course. It was really gross and there were several intoxicated men that approached my daughter and I. We were scared and rushed back inside quickly. Staff was putting out the continental breakfast items around 11:30 pm for the next morning. Wanted yogurt and looked at several and realized they were expired by three weeks along with other food items. We stayed until I could find another hotel. Which we ended up staying at the Bellissimo Grande Foxwoods and it was AMAZING. Staff was so friendly at the Bellissimo and seemed to really enjoy working there. So clean and spotless! Worst experience ever!! as soon as I walked into the lobby I was greeted with attitude. the lady told me most of the amenities were out of order and laughed that I wasn't able to get a refund. we walked into the room and it stunk like BO and was dirty we just left. lesson learned, will never go to another Quality Inn again. read more

There was dirt on the floor at the door as we entered our room. The bathroom needs major repairs. The tub spout was coming out of the wall and water was shooting into the wall. It was difficult to turn the shower on because the rod was coming apart. There was no hook to hang up towels, just a rusty plate where it should have been. There were stains on the ceiling. The curtains in the room were falling down. We had to play with them just to get some privacy from the parking lot since we were on the first floor. For the price definitely not worth it. We had to ring a bell for service when we checked in and the woman who finally showed up was extremely rude. She was also a the desk when we checked. When I told her about the condition of the room she just shrugged her shoulders. No offer of a discount or anything. Real customer service! Don't waste your money. read more

Ok so I make a reservation for two nights To relax it was a disaster. I had no hot water for my planed bubble bath to destress. I call down at 5:00 am and informed them. Morning was done. So I went to a meeting and came back when I manager was there. I trying to have a manure conversation about how my night bath was ruined & a ice cold shower before a meeting not so calming. Love story short not only was the manager rude to me raising voice and lied to me also and told me I was. I made him go check and low and behold no hot water. Soooo I wanted s refund and not stay the second night. He agreed. I checked my credit card on file and over 10 charges accumulating over $600 for one night stay that was supposed to be free of charge because of the problems and I had a paper print it out with the Manager signature on it to make sure that that I got reimbursed, no matter what, because it was a very expensive night stay considering I didn't show up there till almost midnight and I had a cold bath woke up. Had a cold shower Then, the next day I ended up spending in five hours in the lobby, trying to get numerous large charges off my card when they should've use that card bagel with. Pool not in service, carpet flooded with water at base of staircase, breakfast was sparse and not very good. People in room next to us were up ask night shouting and slamming doors. When confronted, they told us they found a cockroach in the room. We told them to report it to the front desk and please be quieter. They got angry and threatened us so we called the front desk. The front desk employee came up and confronted them. They got even more upset and continued shouting and swearing etc. The front desk moved them to another room but the family continued making excessive noise. We decide to leave because we were exhausted and didn't feel safe. On the way out I asked for a refund and was assured we'd get one, but now days later I'm told they "can't" because we booked through Priceline. Priceline also refuses any help, claiming the hotel is denying the refund. read more

When confirming my stay, the attendant , who barely could speak English, stated that she would email me my confirmation, no confirmation came, called again next day, again she said she would send it, confirmation never came......when we checked in, hotel photocopied my identification (I see no reason to have to do this) AND put my license number into their system......THIS IS WHERE IT GETS SQUIRRELY....I was staying for 3 nights, they billed my checking account in two separate stays, adding a $50 "security deposit" to each stay, when checking out, one of the $50 security deposits was immediately released while the other was not, the Manager of hotel said I would see it in account that night, then the next night, never came, I called my bank and was told the "hold" on the $50 was set to expire a full 8 days after my stay per instructions of the hotel, the Manager kept telling me the charges were out of his control that it was done by "corporate", flat out lie and he knew when the money was set to be released and lied to me about that, from the moment we checked in till 8 days later this was a stressful issue. A couple ahead of us had paid their room in full thru Priceline and the hotel debited their account in addition and the young couple were distraught and the Manager didn't care, they were furious. Where should I begin.. Front desk lady was EXTREMELY rude! She told my partner that he had to pay a certain amount and tried to get extra money for a room he paid for( this was a business trip) She showed absolutely NO customer service what so ever. If thats not bad she had her daughter with her while working her shift... I felt so bad for that little girl. I booked this hotel because it stated it had a smoking room. Imagine my surprise when I called down to the front desk that the hotel was smoke free and she didn't know why the room I booked said smoking (showed her the reservation) The room was missing a smoke detector (just wires handing from the celling) No toilet paper holder (had to put on the counter). The reason for this review is to warn smokers that this IS FALSE ADVERTISEMENT!!! When I contacted Quality Inn they gave me points to stay another time!! I DONT THINK SO! read more

We stayed here one night just to have a get away and for the hot tub. Never again. It was dirty , dusty and it was sapose to be a luxury room. Half painted and even the hot tub was dirty and hair all over. I took many pics for proof. The worst part was my fiancé went outside and I didn't hear him knocking so he used a credit card to get in the room! That's crazy. For 200 a night for a luxury hot tub room it was not worth it and you can hear every little sound you make out in the hall. I stayed here for a wedding last weekend and was very unsatisfied with this hotel. Our AC in our room was inadequate to cool it and we were very uncomfortable on our stay. We were sweating the whole time and could not sleep well. I have never been in a hotel with as bad of a cooling system as this. When I tried to bring this issue up with management, I was ignored and have been trying to rectify the issue since. The management staff has been very uncooperative and unprofessional. Quality Inn? More like Low Quality Inn. I tend not to write negatively about brands, but I need to warn other travelers about this spot. The only reason I chose this hotel was because it was the most affordable in the Foxwoods area. I paid more than $100 for a night, which I consider a fair deal in comparison to other hotel chains. Little did I know, I'd made a big mistake. The rate for this Quality Inn should be half that! Not a good value at all. Upon approaching the hotel, all the room windows and even the front entrance windows were caked with some cloudy substance. To visualize this, think what spilled milk on a glass table might look like. Come on, you guys can't even make the front entrance look welcoming? Enter the lobby and you'll smell the stench of smoke right away. I booked a non-smoking room, but everything smelled of smoke anyway. Pillows, sheets, you name it. Sleeping was a struggle. The bathroom was actually pretty darn clean, but the toilet had trouble flushing down toilet paper - a true test of patience. I avoided using the toilet as much as possible. In the morning I awoke to the sounds of you-know-what on the other side of the obviously thin wall. I think it was a sign that it was time to leave. This place is awful. The customer service is non-existent. The employees are rude and disrespectful. The management is a joke as I reached out multiple time to management via phone and email with no response. We were in a horrible situation and they REFUSED to let us cancel our reservation since we used Booking.com even though we are loyal Choice Hotel members and it was weeks prior to the actual night we initially booked. I have never been treated so nasty in my life. Then they proceeded to charge our card the FULL amount even through I begged and pleaded with them weeks before to cancel due to our horrific situation. I took a chance booking here because I needed something that was cheaper. To say the least I was surprised by the "Quality" of my stay. The only thing I had issue with was I had a non smoking room but my shower curtain smelled of smoke but as soon as I mentioned it to the front desk they had it swapped out. The check in amount will be much higher when you check out. She is extremely difficult to deal with, she refused to give me the owners name and number, there is no pet disclosure that you sign so they raise the fee on you when you check out. Similarly to an earlier post from someone else, I booked a non smoking room. The lobby smelled strongly of smoke. I checked again with the desk person to make sure that it was a non smoking room and she assured me that it was. When I entered our room it was really smelly. I went back to the clerk who seemed apathetic and she said that she didn't have any rooms and she offered to come spray deodorizer. When I said that it was a real bummer to pay $213 for something that I was not getting she offered to give our money back. We were unable to book another room at that late date. Wow- and definitely not in a good way. The way I was treated by some staff AND customer service at corporate was beyond infuriating. I will never be staying at Quality Inn hotel because of this place. It should be renamed low quality hotel. Your staff should not be asking me to pay cash for early check in, that is beyond sketchy. The toilet didn't work and the lights in the bathroom didn't work. When I call to express my concerns I received zero help and your "supervisor" hung up on me. If you're looking to stay in a hotel, please do yourself a favor and never stay here. Their manager refused to call me, and they wanted my early check in fee as cash, and changed the amount from what they said the day before. There is zero transparency with their guests. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a wedding since there were not many hotels in the area. The sheets were stained and the place reeked of smoke. We ran out of towels and soap because they did not clean our room. When we asked the front desk for more they questioned why we needed towels and soap. They were very unwilling to give them to us. My 18 year old son was travelling in the area of this hotel at around 11:00pm when he experienced some car trouble. He, along with the help of a local police officer, was able to push the car into this hotel's parking lot. I called the hotel the next morning at 7:30 to inform the staff that my son's car was in the lot and I would be by after work, with a tow truck, to remove the vehicle. I was told that if the car was not picked up by 10:00 it would be towed. I explained to them that I was at work and would not make it until around 5:00pm. They would not budge from the 10:00am deadline now matter how much I pled my case. When I mentioned that I would lose several hours pay in order to take off of work to pick up the car I was told, "We have a contract with a local towing and we don't want to lose the money we receive from the car being towed." I was stunned to hear this. I realize it is not the hotel's responsibility nor obligation to allow the car to sit in the parking lot for a full day. However, common courtesy and human decency would have a led a rational manager to work with someone who had the misfortune to break down in their parking lot. After reading the other reviews regarding this establishment I am no longer surprised. I can also confirm that yes, the entire lobby area reeks of smoke. Based on the attitude of the staff with regards to my son's car I sense that they are poorly equipped to run a hotel. Let the other reviews on yelp serve as a warning.
