To the woman who stormed outside because she thought I left the door open? I went to take a picture of the front of the hotel. There was no reason to be so aggressive. Here are some issues we experienced during our stay at the Christopher Dodge House: My first morning after shaving, the bathroom sink had a slow drain. I have a sink full of shaving cream. I told the manager at breakfast and I received a text around 11am saying they'd fix the issue. I left around 1:30pm, the housekeeping-maintenance staff was gone! I spoke with Kate, the front desk manager who was the one who fixed the sink, made the bed and gave us fresh towels. (Love Kate) Our room was very charming. A large King Size bed with a pretty quilt gave us the feeling that we're staying in someone's home. From the exposed brick in the bedroom to the homemade cookies, it was all very welcoming. When Kate gave us a tour, we were shown the coffee station. This was all free but the bottled water is on the honor system and not free? Strange but ok... Let's break it down: Bath products: Dove Shampoo/Conditioner/Body Wash. It did the job, was it special? Nah. Bath towels were thick and plush. Bed/Pillows: Firm mattress, firm pillows. I guess it all depends on your preference. Breakfast: This was some High School Home Economics, basic food served to us. Each day we had two choices written on the blackboard, substitutes weren't mentioned to us. The first day I chose French Toast with bacon. The bacon was overcooked and the French Toast was Wonder bread with hardly any cinnamon. Pure Maple Syrup on each table was a plus. The continental breakfast communal table had cereal, hard boiled eggs and toast. A very basic breakfast selection. Today my wife and I both had the special of the day: Blueberry Dutch Baby. My wife's breakfast was wet and jiggly? Each day we left the dining room underwhelmed. Parking: If you stayed in a hotel, it would cost on average $30 per night. We had free parking during our stay. I had leg surgery a few weeks ago, to check into the B&B it's a very steep staircase to get to the front desk. If you have mobility issues, this would be a challenge. Christopher Dodge House is a beautiful, New England Bed and Breakfast in Providence RI. Free parking and close proximity to everything was a plus.

The electric is severely outdated and the WiFi isn't strong enough to actually use it. Dogs are allowed to bark nonstop and if you complain be ready to be told "that's what dogs do". The upgrades to the campground are nonexistent but the upgrades shes made to her house that's on the same property are definitely noticeable. Just know your money isn't going into the campground it's going to her house. Just go to George Washington. It's right down the road. It's quiet, peaceful and clean. No drunks and excessively loud live music. It's a campground not a bar.

It appears that a large majority of the campers are seasonal. There are a lot of amenities to enjoy although we missed out on some just because we went off season. Even though we were only there for the weekend we encountered all very friendly pets and people during our stay. I would definitely return during the regular season so I can get in that pool! Dunkin is in a Mobil full service gas station in nearby Richmond.

The tv if you choose to get a room with one is basic cable. So no mtv, no vh1, no tbs, no bet. If your lucky you will get 6, 8, 9, 10, 12 and cool tv (the aci channel) Bed bugs. I've been here 4 times. Got bed bugs once. A lot of them. So you or may not get lucky its a luck of the draw I guess. The shower is tiny. One person only room. If you have a large frame there might be a struggle. The water takes forever to heat up and when it does be careful it might scald you. BYOT - BRING YOUR OWN TOILETRIES These people give you 5 things in the entire room that you can take home if you so choose Complimentary cardboard ash tray Toilet paper Styrofoam cup Tiny sliver of no name brand soap 1 towel This is not the place to come if your dreary or depressed the rooms will not help you, the light is an overhead which is often dimly lit, if your lucky you'll get a room with a window that's not broken, that you can actually see out of and will let light in. In closing, if your low on cash, looking to save money but trying to find a cheap place to stay in the city to rest your head but willing to sacrifice the comforts and normally accomodating features that many of the other hotels in providence have to offer Sportsmans may be just the place for you.

The pool seemed to be leaking as it was only half full in the am my 3yo could stand and it wasn't even up to his chest, they had a hose in filling it all day to keep it from going empty I guess. Leaky shower flooded woman's room overall kind of a mess as far as maintenance but all of those things aren't anything I would normally complain about. Things happen the worlds an imperfect place no big deal. The one thing that really upset me and ruined our stay was the aggressive rude seasonal campers screaming at me and at my children multiple times through the week. The staff was very unhelpful and told me well they are seasonal and you are a visitor ‍ we were not visitors to a site we booked and paid for a site for our family for a week stay Sunday to Sunday. I don't think it's to anyone's benefit to allow seasonal campers to terrorize families just for using the amenities mid week. We arrived to swim at 10am and were berated by a man screaming that it wasn't 10am yet asking me if I knew how to read to go look at the sign etc I showed the time on my phone as did several other patrons including the man's own wife. Despite this he reported us to staff for arriving at 10 minutes to 10 I pushed back and ensured the staff that we did in fact arrive at ten and she became rude and hostile I looked right at the man and reminded him that it was 10am per everyone's clock including his wife's. The staff yelled at me for speaking to him. She ended up apologizing and saying that if she didn't reprimand me in front of him he would tell her boss and she would get in trouble like what? I don't think it's to anyone's benefit for management to encourage or support seasonal campers to harass shorter term campers. This only emboldens them to continue or escalate their behavior. One of them yelled at my autistic son on the playground making him extremely emotionally distressed my husband was there watching him and told the guy if he had a problem to let him know and he would address it with our son and not to speak to our son again especially being aggressive. Shortly after the playground incident a group of them got together and came and stood at the end of my site scowling at me and grumbling I ignored them but it was very strange and aggressive behavior. This campground is advertised as a family friendly place if the owners want it to be a seasonal only location they should run it as such and change their business model, they could also consider making it a 55+ retirement community. Worst camping experience of my life to date.

I could not put into words how GREAT Wawaloam campground. Sometimes when you visit a campground it feels like you are staying in a parking lot. This is AMAZING. The sites are spacious and incredibly maintained. It is beautiful. Trees and grassy area everywhere. The staff is extremely nice and accommodating. There are things for the kids to do. There is a pool, water slide, splashpad, minigolf, big playground and plenty of room for the bike riding. The property is well layed out. For those not traveling with children there is an area that was by us that was 55 and older. The location is not that far from Newport (which is where we were visiting) and Providence. We were only there for 3 days would highly recommend this location. We will be back again and for a much longer time.

It is also close to Willington, Tolland, Ashford, Mansfield, and Coventry. It is around 45 minutes from the airport. It is down a dirt road and is private and beautiful.

The house is an immaculate Victorian piece with over 25 rooms and about 3 stories. Wayne, our tour guide was very knowledgeable and he said that many times, people with specific interests come to the museum to learn more about certain pieces (people come to learn about clocks, rugs, paintings, wood furniture, Asian pieces, bathrooms, etc). The museum has been used in several TV shows like The Gilded Age and Treasures Inside The Museum. General entrance is $12 per adult and the best thing is to call them to schedule a tour.
