Vegetarian options are limited and the first item that came out of the kitchen was meaty and had to be sent back. That said, they were very nice about cranking out the veggie revision. Que Rico has had a big journey! Started as a food truck, to malls to now this spot downtown. All their options are amazing. Today I had the breakfast burrito and the flavor was amazing. My girlfriend got the chilaquiles and wasn't even talking to me because of how good it was. They always provide great recommendations as my girlfriend and I weren't sure what to get but we were happy with the outcome we got. Finally our waiter came, he was rude no introduction. No silverware on table. We order 2 margaritas and some chips at first. He looked at us wrong like if that was all we was getting. While the food and service was great, what made our experience terrible is how sneaky the cashier: Gu**a** went about in self tipping themselves 30% with the added 3% credit card fee. Here's what went down. Everything was great until I went up with my friend to pay. Cashier G inputted our amount due and I handed her my credit card. She used the handheld credit card scanner to put my credit card in. Rather than hand me the scanner so I can tip her, she instead selected the 30% option herself! Yes, SHE chose and added the 30% tip herself. I had no idea until she handed the receipt back to us and I saw what she had done. She refused to redo the transaction again. While searching for brunch spots to eat at after getting off of my morning flight, Que Rico stood out to me and it was one of the few Mexican restaurants open and it had been some time since I last had Mexican food. As I was craving something more on the brunch/breakfast side, I opted to get a Que Rico plate with birria, no beans, and corn tortillas. For a low price of $13 I would definitely consider this meal to be worth it! All of the flavors combined perfectly and I especially enjoyed the guacamole and salsa in the dish. My one complaint is that because of the birria, the bottom of the dish was pretty juicy and so it was the rice slightly mushy and I was looking forward to the rice. I had the Alambres and a fish taco. The Al pastor alambre was a ton of food, cheesy hearty and delicious. With corn tortillas and the different salsas, this was the star of the meal and could have easily fed two people by itself. The fish taco was good sized and very tasty when paired with the cilantro tomatillo salsa. They have a variety of loaded and unloaded drinks, many I have not seen since I was in Puerta Vallarta.
