My debit card pass for a certain amount which was 10$....i owed only 7.And the other amount I was trying to pay it with my credit card since I never carry cash. The stupid lady didn't know how to take in another card so she asked if I had cash! I never carry cash I said no but I can transfer money and I can pay with my debit card or Zelle. Delivery was fast thru door dash! The order was made perfectly to our requests. The only problems were the added a layer of oil to everything and it was cold and mostly under cooked. We had to wipe off every single chip! There were pools of oil in the container. The tacos were stone cold. This place doesn't look like much. I always drive by this place. My boyfriend and I decided to try it and it wasn't bad, we actually had a really enjoyable meal! We placed the meal through yelp grub hub, and they lagged a bit on our order. I think they were backed up but we were the only ones there. I think they were just working out the takeout kinks. I ordered three tacos: al pastor, cabeza, and lengua. The lengua and cabeza were my favorite. They were tender and juicy. The tacos are on the smaller end, but two dollars/tacos that's understandable. The al pastor was my least favorite. The texture was almost like ground pork and the seasoning was a bit off. Tasted like dried peppers and oil a bit. I loved the lengua and would order that again for sure. My boyfriend ordered the carne asada torta and that thing was huge and looked amazing. I had a mixed experience with this place, there were good things and bad things. Let's start with the bad. I ordered the super nachos with carnitas from Postmates and on the picture they advertised real Mexican cheese (fresh and melted jack cheese) but instead the nachos came with cheeze whiz-esque nacho cheese. The only thing that saved the nachos was the verde salsa and carnitas. The serving was huge but it tasted like high school cafeteria nachos with carnitas and very good salsa thrown on top. The food was overall pretty good, but not as good as most Mexican places in the area; they will forever live in the shadow of Taqueria Tapatio #2. What stood out to me is the salsa. The verde salsa is out of this world tasty, spicy and delicious. I would give three or four stars but the false advertising made me never want to order from them again along with the inconsistency of their dishes. I hope they change their super nachos photo on Postmates to something more accurate! The three tacos plate was just OK, and for almost 8 dollars it wasn't worth it. The carne asada was dry and slightly burnt/bitter but the salsa was very very good, nice and spicy. Okay the good. Finally. My girlfriend had the carnitas wet burrito and it was freaking amazing! I think what makes this place easier for me to like is their menu is easy to read as compared to other Mexican places. This is a descent place to get Mexican food, nothing fancy, but also nothing horrible. Before I keep going please bring cash, this is a cash only place. They have an ATM machine inside, but that would add up extra cost to your meal, is better to have cash available. The place has plenty of space to seat and enjoy your food, parking can be hard to find since the shopping center has limited parking spaces. Normally I always order the asada quesadilla, it has good flavor, not dripping grease as some other places do. They give you a side of lettuce and tomatoes, which I like a lot. Their salsa is pretty good, not spicy, but does add flavor to your meal. They also give you tortilla chips with your order, making the meal even better. The service is very good, fast, doesn't take long to get your order. The only reason I give three stars is because they are cash only, I don't have cash on me all the times. I came back to yelp just to write this review. Que Rico's feels like a second family. As a Mexican American from east LA now living far away from my delicious taco trucks, I am on the constant lookout for good food. I am writing this while I wait for Que Rico's breakfast burritos and for dinner we had Que Rico's pupusas and gorditas. One thing I love (besides the fact that it tastes like your abuela made it) is that they pay attention to food allergy notes. I am a Mexican allergic to cilantro and it's the most ironic sad thing, but que Rico's is always there on top of things. The nachos are big enough to share and come with nacho cheese like king taco. The gorditas and pupusas are bigger than your head. The tacos are great, the al pastor is our favorite. Sides of rice and beans are a must. The guacamole is only avocado which is heaven and both their salads are great. I've had the machaca and bacon breakfast burritos, both are good! This restaurant has been remodeled, and looks great. The food tastes good and the quality is good. The menu options hit the spot and will cover Mexican food cravings. What keeps it from great is the prices as they are quite high for walk-in orders. I appreciate the renovation this place has gone through. It is very clean and even has a small patio for outdoor dining. Two years ago when I moved here I was told to avoid this spot in particular, it is unfortunate they are plagued by old reviews reflecting the previous management decisions. If the prices weren't so high ($10 burrito & $10 quesadilla) I would have given this place 5 stars. I can literally walk a block down the street to get $5 burritos & quesadillas that are as good, if not better because of the condiment selection available. I think they should bring down the prices for walk-in orders or orders that do not use a delivery service. These in-door traffic is most critical to show-off such a wonderful upgrade. Also place doesn't need a condiment bar to be great, I think it the condiments they provided were pretty good. Overall I am very happy with the renovation, but would hate for this place to become a hipster spot (overpriced for little food). The neon sign & TVs are awesome, but I don't think there should be anymore additions if it's going to cause an increase in sales price of the items. I ate outside, it felt good, clean and comfy, glad that's available. I hope this place can get over the hump and find the right price for me to keep coming back. Came into this restaurant for the first time, I had previously ordered on postmates. So glad I didn't visit the first time. The place is nasty as hell. Customer service is slow as it can be. We ordered, then - twice, after we had placed our order the lady called us because they had run of what we had ordered. We ordered to go and they gave it to us to dine in. They play loud ass rock and roll while you're eating. Lastly, as you're eating they are sweeping the floor. Literally right under your feet. Dust going everywhere.
