I like the unique concept and the name, but the food itself, fell a little short on execution. Seems hard to mess up a quesadilla, but the burnt tortilla was not a good start. I had the "Evan Boling," with cilantro lime chicken, bacon, jalapenos, and white cheese blend. Sounds interesting enough but the tiny diced up chicken was so dry and bland that I mostly tasted the heat of the fresh jalapenos and the bitterness of the burnt tortilla. I honestly thought it could use more cheese. Not impressed. The housemade salsas were all flavorful. The avocado was my favorite and the "liquid gold" was my least favorite (and recommended by the cashier). Portion was filling enough, although seemed on the smaller side compared to other quesadillas offered at Mexican taquerias. Most quesadillas run $8, with an option to double your meat for an extra $3. Space is open and clean with minimal décor. You order by highlighting what you want on menu sheets, but we just ordered at the counter and the young female staff filled the sheets out for us. The staff was enthusiastic and friendly, brought our food to our table (after calling out names), asked if we needed anything else, and cleared our table. Hope this new brick and mortar is able to tweek any issues in the kitchen and put out a great product. The potential is there, so I wish them success! read more

This was my first time here. I've always heard good things about the food truck they have, but I never got to try them. Needless to say I was stoked to hear they opened a store front. We walked straight up to the register ordered and had our food was in minutes during lunch rush, which was pretty cool. This is a fun area to visit. There's a lot of street life, people hanging out, pedestrians and folks on bikes. The whole area is pet friendly. So are the folks visiting the shops here. It's a cool neighborhood from the 1920 and 30s. The service here was really friendly and helpful. Madison does a fantastic job in greeting and informing folks about the happenings here. With the strange exception of there being virtually NO cheese on this item, the 'quesadilla' (pork verde) was excellent and the sauces that come on the side (select 2) were exceptional. I got the avocado salsa and the roasted pepper salsa. I choose onions and tomatoes for the interior and opted for the white cheese mix. I think they relied on an aioli for richness but there was NO visible cheese melted in this item. It's also lacked the mouth feel and taste of cheese. 'Cheese' is kinda the point of a Quesadilla, no? I'll give it one more try. I loved how restrained the decorating is, how folks with bikes just bring them inside. It's an open and easy going environment and the music was the perfect volume. The only complaint I had was that it was too cold inside and they had every ceiling fan on as if it was 100 degree outside. It was uncomfortably cold and windy! I love this area as people seem so genuine, friendly and authentic in striking up conversations. It's really laid back and a bit of a vacation from other eateries. Quesadilla Gorilla located across the street from Fresno High School. I came in for a quick dinner. I was excited to try the Vegan Soyrizo with veggies. And a beef and cheese quesadilla. I was happy there was no wait to order, and friendly staff. I waited for about 10 minutes before the order was completed. But I was disappointed in the beef and cheese, the tortilla was over cooked by a lot. I did complain and they did offer to make another. I was in a bit of a hurry to wait longer. The sauce Cilantro Cream for the Soyrizo was way hot for my taste. $31 for three Quesadillas to me is a lot. This isn't including drinks. I wish I would have had a better experience. Absolutely one of the worst deliveries I've had since Covid. I ordered the fajita vegetable quesadilla with a side of beans and rice. And extra "guacamole". The only thing edible was the tortilla. I have no idea what was going on with the fajita veggies. They were inedible. As if someone had cooked weeks-old thin-skinned peppers and tomatoes. It was like chewing plastic. With every bite I had to pull inedible skins out of my mouth. And that's not even mentioning all the seeds. Like they cooked the entire seed-filled inner with the dry, old peppers/tomatoes. I paid $1.75 extra each for a tiny (maybe less than a quarter-cup) of rice and beans. Glad I did not get more, because they were inedible as well. The rice had absolutely no Mexican/Spanish flavor. Tasteless. The beans were not seasoned at all. Like they came straight out of a can, but not completely cooked. The guacamole was (I think) about $1.75 as well. No idea why they called it guacamole, since it didn't seem to have any avocado in it. It was just a bland green salsa. Glad I didn't spring an extra $2 for vegan cheese. Overall their prices were okay -- but not if the food is inedible. I'm vegan, so I expect at least *some* flavor and edible-ness to my veggie options and this one did not deliver. It literally wasn't even salted. If you are a hard-core carnivore who hates veggies and guacamole, you might like this place. But if you are a vegan or vegetarian I would suggest you steer clear. read more

Only downside was that it wasn't as big as I was expecting however I didn't at the time notice they had a Kong option which I'll def be ordering next time. With my customizations, a drink, tax (yelp check in discount) and a 15% tip, it came out to $12! Pretty good for lunch! You bite into the quesadilla and I thought, I don't need these extra sides for dipping, this taste amazing as is. But, I still try the avocado salsa, and it is so yummy! There are so many different delicious flavors swimming around. Cons that don't affect the star rating: - It is messy! My friend and I decided to share two types of quesadillas. I had the chili verde with onions and jalapeños and she had the lime chicken with rice and beans. -I did not like mine. I should've known that the chili verde would make my quesadilla soggy as I could not eat it fast enough. The jalapeños that go in it is also raw and I would've preferred it cooked or pickled so that kind of threw it off as well. I love the ambience here and it's very fast when you're short on time. This review is for the Quesadilla Gorilla food truck, which I was happy to spot at Art Hop this week. It's a lovely truck, much newer and cleaner-looking than some of the other refurbs you see around town. I ordered a #2: The Classic - which has chili verde, black beans, Spanish rice and jack cheese. The service is friendly with a smile - and they even got my name right, which always gets bonus points from me. It came out within a few minutes, big and hot on a sturdy cardboard plate with high sides. The quesadilla itself is a good size and felt almost like a burrito served quesadilla style. The verde is really tasty, the pork tender. The black beans were cooked just right and there was a perfect amount of cheese - enough to get a good layer nice and melted into the other ingredients without it being overwhelming. Everything was cooked perfectly and all the flavors worked well together. It also came with a little creamy salsa, I'm guessing it was avocado-cilantro, which I wish I'd started pouring over it sooner. Another great complement and would be nice and cooling if you found the chili hot. I'd only ever had cheese quesadillas before, so this made for a nice change. I thought it was a good amount of food for $8 plus tax and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for them around town again. There's a schedule for the food truck on their website. read more

I got the atomic veggie quesadilla, which was loaded with cheese, fajita veggies, and came with a spicy, creamy sauce. The quesadilla was warm, gooey, and delicious! This is definitely not health food given the generous portion of cheese, but it was a wonderful treat. I really appreciated that, as a non-meat option, it was NOT lacking in flavor!
