Then they said they called him but he was sitting there the whole time and was never called. You should really get some competent people working this lab. Oh wow. It was bad. The automated system at the Simi Valley location does not work well. The "wait time" is constantly in flux. Not sure if it's unique. There needs to be someone you can talk to. The people taking the blood shouldn't also be customer service. They got yelled at which isn't ok, but also it happens because there is no way to get help and no communication. Patient frustration wasn't handled so it only escalated. Someone needs to be there to answer basic questions. The wait is so much longer than it was with the old system too, even with an appointment. I finally had to leave after over an hour wait. That was never the case prior. Someone in management needs to re-evaluate. This cost cutting measure is not fair to the patients or staff. Their phone systems are extremely frustrating to deal with. You can only make an appointment through an automated system. Therefore, they don't give you any lab preparation or directions or anything. I had to reach out to my doctor to find out protocol, which is fine, but they should also be able to answer the phone at Quest. Then I got lost on my way there, and again, couldn't get through to ask for help on how to find them so I ended up being ten minutes late. Because I was late, I lost my appointment and ended up waiting 50 minutes. I understand losing an appointment due to being late, however, the surrounding circumstances were really too bad. I overheard one of the techs telling a different patient she couldn't find the order the doctor sent and blaming the patient. Now I'm watching an elderly woman get ignored at the front counter for a few minutes. Update: After waiting nearly an hour, I walked to the front to let them know I'd like to cancel at this point. The tech asked my name and I told her. She told me I never checked in. That can't be true. I used the scan code they emailed to me to check in and when I did it told me there would be an 11 minute wait so I know my check in was registered by the system. read more

My husband had the worse experience at Simi Valley Sycamore location yesterday, he was there 10 minutes before appointment time and self checked in. His name was on the screen and always appeared that he was next in line. However, his had waited for two hours, no one helped him until the staff noticed there were people still waiting. I was upset with him not flagging the staff when his name was not called. But he said there were other older folks there and not wanting to make a big deal. When the staff finally realized his existence, did not make much of comments. I was an employee at Quest for over 17 years, this is not the Quest I used to know.... The most horrible diagnostics office I've ever been too. The appointment check in system is ridiculous. I had made the appointment a week in advanced. I went in at 10:40am 10min before my scheduled appointment. I advised the staff members that I was having issues checking in due to not having my ID with me they, they kept saying I was late to my appointment because that what their check in system is showing I checked in late. Failing to listen to what I had to say they shut the door on my face without letting me speak ( thank God for the witnesses there) At 12pm (mind you the office closes at 12:30) a staff member walked out and said no one will be seen for the day. I have never experienced such unpleasant and unprofessional office visit. A complaint has been filed the the business bureau and as well as a not so pleasant letter went out to James E. Davis Chairman, CEO and President of quest diagnostics. People be kind to one another hear each other out what the other person has to say. I was told to go and wait in my car and I would be texted when it was my turn. When I returned to the office, I saw others going in before me. When I asked about this, she told me they had appointments. I knew they didn't because in speaking to the other patients, they told me they didn't have one. The employee told me to stop arguing or she wouldn't draw my blood. I left and called the corporate office with a formal complaint. Wish I had seen the reviews so I could have told the corporate office that these "employees" are rude to others as well. I will never go here again! Hmmm... Where do I even begin... The Company is located in New Jersey. For some reason, they felt the need to call me at 8:07am PST. When I had just fallen asleep at around 4am. I told the lady that called me that I am completely covered by my insurance & a Co-pay/deductible wasn't anywhere NEAR possible. I called my Doctor's office AND my insurance company & my Doctor's office said that it was paid & my insurance company said that they were never even billed for said dates that I owe over $600.00. I went back and forth with Quest, Doctor's Office & Insurance Company 4 different times... I have made 9 different phone calls to clear this up & EVERY SINGLE person that I encountered was rude, incompetent, lazy & VERY unwilling to clear any of this up. This Company on the East Coast needs some SERIOUS re-training, Compassion & listening skills. Instead of interrupting, cutting off and even hanging up on me TWICE. I have no idea what this Companies problem is, however, the CEO should REALLY be involved with how to treat people.!!! On the other hand, every time that I go to a Quest location, the people that work there are always super sweet & are there to help in any way that they can... Easy enough process. Sign in was great and contactless. They give you the option of waiting in your car where you'd receive a text when it's your turn or can wait in the waiting area in the office. I was there for a drug test and per usual had performance anxiety. Any other time it seems the bathroom can't be close enough but when it's time to produce a specimen on command my bladder just won't cooperate. While waiting I noticed people arriving and exiting in a matter of 5 minutes. Great turn over rate. By the time Mother Nature came knocking sure enough I was processed in a short amount of time. read more

Staff is rude, grumpy, and not helpful. There is always an issue with paperwork, forms, orders sent by my doctors to their office. They are not apologetic nor sympathetic. I am not the only one with this issue. Every time I go in I hear patients in the waiting room also experiencing problems. When you try to call the office nobody answers and you are sent to a bot with a selection of options to choose from, none of which allow you to select the option to speak with a person in the lab. Because of this, you cannot ask any questions or verify if your lab order from your doctor has been received in their lab. You just have to show up and hope for the best. They also run out of the collection tubes to collect the blood in and must turn patients away, often elderly and those fasting, to go to another lab. read more

Super rude employees. The way they talk to people is unacceptable. These patients are here because they are unwell and a nice attitude towards them can go a long way. An elderly man said he had a question and they just interrupted him at tell him to hold on. Another lady mentioned that the hand sanitizer was empty in the waiting area and her response was " it's been out for a while ma'am". On Quest's website, they have a so-called "Giving you Peace of Mind" list of what they've been doing lately to ensure the so-called safety of visitors. The first item on that list includes requiring face masks. Apparently what Quest pledges to do isn't what it enforces. Don't be fooled by their "Peace of Mind" guarantee. On my latest visit here, a young, healthy woman casually strolled back into the lobby to leave after getting blood work. She was NOT wearing a mask. A visit to a lab where they draw your blood is supposed to be stress free, right? Not at Quest. Other businesses take swift action to ensure everyone is complying with wearing masks. Quest, of all places, a place that sees the sickest of patients, including those who may have been exposed to COVID-19, doesn't care about your health. If you're considering getting blood work, go elsewhere where they take your health seriously and rules are enforced. read more

I went in this morning to get blood drawn. I ended up feeling sick suddenly while the blood was being drawn and knew I was about to pass out. Thank goodness Claudia sprang into action and got the blood drawn from my other arm while she called for assistance. I had a few people fanning me and then they wheeled me into another room to lay on a bed. Tiffany was amazing and stayed with me (still fanning me) until I started to feel better. Claudia kept coming into to the room to check on me and brought me water. They completely took care of me and made me feel comfortable (I was SO embarrassed!) Thank you to everyone who helped the me so I didn't didn't pass out on the floor! I appreciate it!!! read more

Set an appointment over the phone for labs for my husband at the Quest on Sycamore Dr. Everything is automated so impossible to speak with anyone. He arrived the next morning, 20 minutes early for a 10:30 appointment and tried to check in. Again, everything automated, check in was a Kiosk so no one to help if you have a question. The Kiosk would not take his information including his confirmation number. He decided to knock on the door and finally got someone to answer. All rude and unprofessional staff! Couldn't find his order but doubt if they even looked it up but instead called me and I had to tell them it was faxed from his doctor's office yesterday. She looked and guess what, she found it! Terrible, terrible staff and it will be the last time he/we will ever go there! Some people need to be fired at that place!! read more

I'm very unhappy with Quest! My insurance didn't cover the tests I needed so I paid them out of my pocket before the testing was done. I was shocked at the price the girl said I had to pay. I questioned her about it she said there was nothing she could do, so I paid. Afterwords I checked their website on the prices and she had charged me four times what it said on the website. Got to witness a lab tech yell at a patient for asking how long and was told he would not be serviced bc he was rude but he wasn't LOL. Do not go in as a walk in! I was waiting to be seen today at Quest in Simi Valley on sycamore. The young lady working the front desk was so rude to everyone that walked it. A elderly man walked in, obviously struggling due to his age. He walked up to the front desk and asked the young girl to check him, she rudely pointed to check in iPad and said check in there. He clearly looked confused and unsure what to do. She didn't offer help, she just stared at her computer. Thankfully, a young gentleman that walked in after was there to help him. I was floored that your employee wouldn't get up from her chair and help a elderly man check in. If she was my employee she would be fired. We had to get blood work for our baby. The lady said we could either do the arm or do a heal stick. She said either way is fine and I said let's do the heal stick then. She then comes back in and says ok it's less accurate and might not work and is more painful so I'm like then let's do the arm. She says no I already opened the heal stick test so that's what we are going to do. Then she announces by just looking at the blood that they have to do it again because it clotted. Didn't look under a scope or anything. Then we said no we are leaving she tried to tell the other lady that we demanded the heal stick even though she "gave" us all the info. Never go to quest for baby labs. she also got blood all over his clothes and refused to do the other test the doctor order because she didn't want to call the office even though the website Says they would read more

The billing by this company is a joke, they submitted to my insurance and it took 4 months for Blue Shield to process it, by June I was being billed for a co-pay for what exactly?? Anyway I was out of town since June and come to find out they sent me to collection for a $40 co-pay, now I'm on the phone trying to get them to fix this nonsense.
