My issue is not with Quicksilver but with Viator the company you go through to book the dinner cruise. We couldn't apply our dinner choices and Agent Jan Frances could not help us either. She couldn't find our reservation that we made online either. We had to cancel our birthday plans for the dinner cruise. She promised me that we would not be charged this morning but we got charged $599.80! Very dissatisfied with the Quicksilver site reserve and pay later option-it doesn't work. There was no reservation and I called to follow up and pay. She could not help us, so we had to make other plans. Really untrustworthy. I had to call again to get the $599.80 credited back for the unauthorized charge. read more

My husband and I really enjoyed this sunset cruise. The parking was a little confusing but we got our steps in walking to the right area. The check-in process went smoothly and our seats offered a great unobstructed view. The food was quite delicious and the drinks were tasty, too. The service was sometimes a little slow but there was beauty to be seen while we waited. The guy playing music was really good and he kept the very relaxing vibe going. I had the ribs and they were very good. My husband loved his steak. And the portions were plentiful. We went for the mahi mahi and prime rib dinner cruise. Overall, it was pretty decent. However, the person who was supposed to greet the group was late and had everyone a bit anxious. Due to the cell tower having issues that day, no one could check in with the QR code, or even attempt to reach anyone. Luckily, they did show up, but a little later than expected. We got seated and headed out. The staff were pretty nice and helpful. The food was very good too. The fish was perfect cooked. My husband ordered the prime rib. He liked it, but it was a very fatty cut. We saw a couple of whales during the first part of the dinner cruise. The sunset was beautiful. I think we would still recommend this cruise to others. I did research this cruise a bit before choosing it. My experience wasn't perfect personally, but things happen sometimes. read more

We booked our sunset cruise through Viator we were advised by Viator that a crew member from the sunset cruise will meet us at a certain location. We arrived on time and waited for 15 minutes since no one showed up i called Viator they contact the tour operator and was told to go to a different meeting location. Before we boarded the ship I have advised the captain = Captain Kiwi of what happened he was rude took us of the boat and told us that he has nothing to do with Viator or Expedia or any other online booking companies. Are you serious that is how people find you!!!!!!!!! he said that he can refund our money but if I want to go on the sunset cruise I shouldn't make any problems. My son was with me I felt humiliated and angry. I asked my son if he wants to go on the cruise and he said yes. My wife and I had a great time on the sunset dinner cruise. The whole check in, boarding and seating process is handled very efficiently to reduce any stress around boarding and finding a place to sit. The crew was excellent. They were very friendly and kept things moving along at a nice pace. We had drinks in hand shortly after leaving the harbor (I recommend The Pink Drink), and I noticed that those who were quick drinkers (alcohol or no) didn't need to wait long for a refresh. We got the prime rib for dinner and it was slightly above par which, for this sort of trip, I consider perfect. No one should go on a sunset cruise expecting the finest of dining. The boat trip itself was beautiful and extremely relaxing with great views of both the island and the ocean (hot tip, if it's just you and another person, you'll likely get a front row table looking straight out with unobstructed views). The captain did a great job of swinging the boat around for a perfect view of the sunset, and even though there was some low cloud cover, it was still beautiful. We've never done a sunset dinner cruise before on Maui. We heard that it is an event you don't want to miss. You get on a boat, the boat floats around and you watch the sun setting behind clouds or Lanai. All the while you are on the boat you drink MaiTais and you have fresh veggie appetizers and then a multicourse dinner. It was easy to find the Quicksilver. The Maaalea harbor is where we started the cruise. You check in, sign a release form and come aboard. Find a good safe spot inside or outside. Then watch the crew perform their magic as they entertainingly provide drink service and maintain clean tables and dish up chocolate cake. A musician makes lots of music and one of our guests actually did a bit of karaoke to a favorite tune. It is time to get all the cameras and smart phones out as the sun is shining its final rays thru the clouds. This is the big moment we came to see. Our expectations we have were misguided. The clouds and the nearby silhouette of an island obscure any setting sun and there is no green flash. The captain advises that it is time to turn the boat back toward harbor and that it would be real windy. Definitely, now is the time to get everything that is not secured to you table to get them off, or the wind will do that. So how was dinner?,,,my Mahi Mahi was fine, and unfortunately the missus was not happy that the prime rib came well done. The boat came into the harbor none too soon as many guests are starting to feel the wrath of the wind and the ocean. Would we repeat doing a sunset dinner cruise the next time we are in Maui? It's a decent ride around the shore front. Don't expect to eat 5 star food when you're there. I got the combo and the fish was very dry. The steak was alright. Keep in mind that they pre make this and have it heated waiting to be served since it's a small boat. The actual cruise was good and beautiful on a sunset which is why I'm rating this 3 stars. The customer service on the boat was great by all members. They had a guy playing live music which was pretty mellow and I think it made the cruise better. They didn't limit us on the drinks which was pretty cool. Don't expect full on bar quality drinks but they get the job done. Sat for 1 hour and 45 minutes in the hot sun as we were instructed to be 15 minutes early. What a joke, do not get there early unless you want to sit around doing nothing and sweating. Finally...... The blonde/brunette told us to start a line , but after a while people started showing up and sitting, standing in front of us. Than the "first mate" the blond/brunette said line up, first come first serve. We were the first ones there but wound up being like 30 people back. Totally unorganized. Sat on top in the blazing sun hoping that when we took off there would be a breeze, not! First off noticed the napkin was thinner than McDonald's napkins and you only got one. And the flatware was so thin, it looked like a kids set. Originally I thought we had a choice between prime rib, teriyaki chicken or Maui Maui. Again, not.. you received all three, about two bites each. I thought lobster was and additional charge if you wanted it, but had to preorder which I was not made aware of. So be cautioned. The drinks were pretty much were without alcohol and they gave you tickets before you boarded to make sure you only get two. Boarding pass should have numbers so people would actually know who was first. I recommend skipping this cruise and spending a bit more on a better cruise. I do not recommend. read more

The cruise was wonderful the service of the captain and crew was outstanding. The food and entertainment were good but not outstanding, but given there is no galley on the boat I would surely do ut again, especially given the price. I liked that the trip was a mix of folks our age ( 50's and 60's) and young families with kids. We were lucky to sit with Captains Johns family and his wife answered our qustions that we posed to each other, and his kid was a hoot. The highlight of the cruise was tne boat ride and the 180degree plus sunset. The food was good but not excellent, but a good value. Most of my 5 star meals here have been twice the price, and without the entertainment. If you are looking to rock out whole getting slobering drunk this probably not your gig, but if you want a special experience with family and/or friends it is a good bang for your buck. read more

I should've gotten the Lobster dinner that my husband had, as I did not care for the Trio. Fish was way FISHY and pineapple beurre blanc just didn't work. Chicken was a little dry and I wasn't expecting pot roast as the beef part of the trio. Nice little steak would've hit the spot. I can't say anything about the full dinner cruise, but from the sounds of people around us, seemed like folks enjoyed the meal. A solid four stars excursion: - the captain and crew were helpful and friendly - the ride was nice and easy with great views - the boat was large and in great condition - drinks and veggie tray were a plenty The only reasons this is NOT a five star is that there was only one hot hor d'oeuvres option and we had been told that there would be plenty of delicious hot hor d'oeuvres. The potstickers were less than impressive. The other thing is that it is BYOB which seems a bit odd. Booked through the website and they gave us all the info we needed. Check in time was 1 hour before the actual time of the depart time to get everyone together, sign the waivers, etc. The company was very good about calling and confirming reservations. The boat itself was a double decker catamaran that fit a few dozen people. It is used for snorkeling expeditions to Molokini as well as the dinner cruise (as deduced by the back of the waiver form we signed). The setup for the dinner included tables placed around the boat both on the bottom deck and the top deck. The food was prepared off the boat and the final prep was done on the boat. Drinks were mixed in the bar on the lower level. We sailed out promptly at 5 near the southwest part of Maui around sunset time at 6. Dinner was a buffet style with choice of prime rib or fish and an assortment of other dishes including veggies, salad, potatoes and chicken. They served chocolate cake and drinks until we were nearing our return to the harbor, arriving at 7pm. Just as advertised. So how was it? Well, to be honest, the boat isn't a luxury liner like I said, its a converted snorkeling boat for this dinner....you won't feel as if you are on some cruise ship and in need of a tux or evening wear. it's not a bad thing, you're on vacation in Maui...you're looking for casual right? The food was ok. There was a mix up when the reservation was booked. We had ordered prime rib but they had us down for fish. It was mentioned that fish servings are pre portioned but in the end the were very accommodating with the prime rib. The rest of the food was average. What really brings the rating up is the service of the crew. They were always right there, handling your requests and making sure everything went as smooth as possible. Very friendly and top notch. This was our second trip to Maui and my wife and I decided to do a dinner cruise. We researched several different cruises and decided on the Quicksilver Sunset Dinner cruise. We enjoyed ourselves. We were traveling with her sister and her husband who went with us. I had the fish and my wife had the Prime Rib which we had to preselect when we made our reservations. We were each happy with our choices. In addition to the main dish, we had steamed veggies, rolls, chicken cooked with vegetables, Caesar salad, finished off with a very chocolate cake. We both thought the food was great. It was served buffet style except for the salad. Two alcoholic drinks were included in the price. One has to remember, this is a dinner cruise out on the open ocean. On the evening we went, the weather was quite warm which was nice. However, the ocean had a few swells going and the boat would occasionally rock, sometimes quite a bit. The crew was very helpful and friendly. They would help people carry their plates back to their tables if need be. Some people got seasick and my wife got a bit queasy. If you get seasick, take some Dramamine or other seasick medicine before you go. The ocean is unpredictable and even through the weather was good, there were some small swells. The Captain was good but he could not calm the waters! All in all, given what a dinner cruise is it was a great experience and the crew was very friendly, engaging, and helpful. I would take this cruise again. One bit of advice with any cruise or event on Maui you make reservations ahead for. About a week or so before you go. Call the company to verify the time and location. Several times, we have made reservations a couple of months ahead of time and found out the time or the location of the event had changed slightly. read more

PRISON FOOD! This is not worth the money! The cruise is not as advertised! The meals are microwaved and canned food! Do not go! The boat barely leaves the dock and the food was absolutely terrible! The picture on the pamphlet is a lie! I question the sanitary conditions on this ship! The boat goes so slow you get sea sick! The whole bottom floor smelled like pee! The boat is absolutely disgusting! This ship is a cash grab used for everything and is in horrid condition. I would stay away from these horrendous dinner cruises. They then had the audacity to ask for $20 tip for each couple! The Quicksilver ship needs to be cleaned and the bathroom is disgusting! I was so grossed out I couldn't wait to get off! I'm basing the 4 stars on value for the price. They were offering an online special of 69.99 pp regular price 99.99pp. Keep in mind there are service charges actually making it 81.00 (but still good price including dinner) and at end of cruise ASK for a 20.00 per couple tip. We were suppose to start boarding at 4:30 but oddly the vessel wasn't even at the marina slip at that time. Finally about 4:45 it pulls in and get a quick safety briefing and ended up departing nearly on time at 5:00. Staff was really friendly and accommodating. They gave us two tickets each for cocktails but were nice in allowing extras at no additional fee which was said to be just 2.00. There were various dinner choices, I chose the lobster and hubby the trio of beef/fish/chicken. First served was drinks, then a small caesar salad w/roll. A little later our meals came out, not sure if it was because we were about the last to be served but food wasn't very warm and my melted butter was already getting solidified. But food was good, hubby's beef a little on well side but overall decent quality and nice presentation. Weather was enjoyable and made for a nice cruise and beautiful sunset. The highlight was seeing a couple whales frolicking and flapping their big fins hard on the water surface. Enjoyed having live music by a Hawaiian man with a sweet voice and guitar. The boat/ship isn't fancy but again for the cost it was just fine. There was tables set up for everyone to have their own place to sit/eat. After sunset chocolate cake was served, was bit surprised coffee wasn't offered especially since most in the group were mid-age and seniors. Staff continued to keep up on drinks during cruise. There were two bathrooms onboard and easy access for getting on/off boat. Would recommend, we had an enjoyable time. Parking could be an issue, we got lucky getting a handicap spot next to dock because hubby has knee issue using a cane. read more

Wow me and the family of 5 went yesterday! What a great crew and awesome view of the sunset. We were impress with the the whole experience. The captain was great. The staff were helpful and brought food and drinks to our table. The food was steak, fish and chicken small pieces and rice and potatoes, vegetables pineapple. We were luckily to see 2 rainbows and the gentlemen playing songs was great just set the mood. What a way to end our holiday. We will be doing this again next time we come to Maui. The kids were nervous as 2 of them have not be on a boat but the boat was smooth sailing no issues. Tip get there early parking was hard we found some on Hotel road public parking. The crew are great, very friendly and it is probably great if you get on the boat first and get to sit outside. If you end up having to sit inside the boat instead of on the deck it is a bit hot and you need to go outside to get a good view but there is lots of time for that. We all arrived to the site and found out that they had made a mistake and over booked our party and that they would not be able to accommodate us on any other tours because they were completely booked.
