We came here about 2 years ago. There were about 3 customers, yet food took forever and it was very plain. Wasn't happy. We went back about 3 weeks ago to try again due to the pressure of their commercials. Regretted it right away. The place was packed with slow service, coffee and food had a strange taste like it was made with some heavy metal town water. It was so loud I couldn't have a conversation with my family at the small table. Tables are so close together that the people around you constantly knock your jacket off the back and you need to hold your personal belongings. I was pushed out of the way by a female worker. Now that I see your response about my issues with the two visits. The fact that you responded with no concern about being pushed and only defended your food is quite the issue. By the way, when I was pushed I was carrying my 6 year old daughter because of how busy it was and they didn't say sorry either, didn't even look back. We will not be returning. read more

I've seen the signs on Route 17 (aka The Quickway) for many years and finally decided to try it. I was very disappointed. The turkey burger I had was mediocre at best. Definitely on the low end of all I've ever had. The staff left much to be desired. One waitress was leaving early and the person who was filling in for her was clearly not happy and in an awful mood. She never once came over to ask how everything was but as soon as I got up swooped in to quickly retrieve her tip. I won't be back. read more

Bathroom was filthy, food was bland. Saw a sign for homemade corned beef and that too wasn't any good. I would pass on this one. Response: When I was there on Saturday the paper towel dispenser was overflowing with garbage because you guys failed to clean the bathroom. It was gross. Dirty paper towels everywhere. I was a bit surprised that with the size of this building there isn't much seating. They do have a spacious room for parties but the main dining area was tiny. Still, what They lacked in size they made up for by serving great food. Yes it's typical diner fare but it was exceptionally good and actually served much faster than some diners I've been to. Aren't diners supposed to have good breakfasts? Well not this one. After hearing all of the commercials on the radio, we decided to stop on our way back from a trip that passed by here. I ordered french toast and it was dry, flavorless, and just sad. My boyfriend's meal was also lacking, and the bacon was still floppy and barely cooked. Our waitress was less than pleasant and the inside has the typical less than clean looking diner atmosphere. So if you want a bland, overpriced meal, then this is your stop. First before I write the review I want to make it clear that the servers tried to resolve a bad situation and really did their best. We ordered a simple bbq wrap. It came and was completely inedible. The sauce was horrid. I mean in all my years I have never had someone try and serve me anything like that. It was water and brown sugar the consistency and color of ice tea. Her comes the best part. Rarely, almost never, have I sent food back. I did and the owner? Or manager he wouldn't clarify told me that it was like that because it was homemade. I said have you actually tried this. He told me again it was fine. The best part is the bill comes and it's on the bill. Finally got it removed. My recommendation is don't stop, ever. Drive by quickly and forget this place exists. It was decent I don't think I would drive here if I wasn't in the area. It's good enough. It's too jam packed with tables to accommodate the amount of seats. It was a little pricey for breakfast and the food was just acceptable. This is not a jersey diner just an I'm the only diner around and it fills a need. Service was slow but good. We came here for breakfast with my inlaws, and I was sorely disappointed. To start off, many of the staff that helped us were extremely rude! When giving my order, the waitress talked over me and made it seem as though my order was too tedious for her. The food was pretty awful. They claim that they make their corned beef hash from scratch, which is usually a really good thing. Not at Quickway, it was mostly potatoes and tiny little pieces of corned beef. I ordered a veggie omelet, and the vegetables in the omelet were cut into tiny tiny pieces so that you couldn't even tell what you were eating. When I used the bathrooms, I was appalled at how dirty the doors were from people opening and closing them. The whole diner had kind of a dingy outdated feel to it. I understand the idea of having a vintage dinner, but this place was downright dirty. The one positive I will say is that they make their own hot sauce and it was delicious. I admit that I grew up on Long Island and New Jersey diners. So fun and over-the-top with their plush booths, marble pillars, mirrored walls, 20 page menus and platters big enough for even the Governor of NJ. That said, We were starving, and weren't expecting more than a quick bite at the Quickstop but this place was so bad that I had to put it on blast. Walking in and seeing the old Formica top tables and dated decor I didn't have high hopes, and after being on the road all day we were willing to eat just about anything. A dishelved waitress sat us and was visibly stressed by the three tables she was juggling. After waiting, we tried to wave her down a few times and she just rushed past and totally ignored us. Finally, another waitress came and took our order. Our waitress was sweet and it's not her fault the food was lame so we left a little extra for her tip just because we felt bad that she worked there. The dinner salad was white iceberg with one small piece of cucumber and some shredded carrots. It was in the little 3 inch bowl that most diners give you for coleslaw. Next came a burger and fries. The burger was thinner than any I had ever seen, like a White Castle. I can still taste the grease from the mushy fries that I ate in pure desperation. The warm coleslaw came in a little plastic cup served with more shredded iceberg topped with a white slice of tomato. I would have tried my friends food but it didn't look appetizing enough, nor did any of the other plates I seen passing by. I know upstate New York is struggling economical and I hate saying this, but this was the worst diner ever. I wish I could recommend someplace better in the area but this seems to be the ONLY place. I highly recommend that you just keep driving, no matter how hungry you are until you hit a dinner in NJ. read more

On our way home from the resorts world casino we stopped off for some breakfast. It's super easy right off and on from the highway. We were promptly seated and coffee/waters were dropped off quickly. SIL got their pancake wrap that sounded delicious. I had the eggs Florentine and asked that they add mushrooms. No problem, and no upcharge. Friend got a bacon egg on a roll, which was mostly roll. She should've probably asked for 2 or 3 eggs on it. Other than that our server was very nice and the food came out hot and fast. Another nice touch is that our server asked if we wanted to split our checks before we ordered which 1 check would've been fine but since she offered, it made the process to pay the bill so much easier and faster. read more

So basically, me and my two best friends went on a "Diner Run". Every Sunday for the last couple months, we visited every diner in the Hudson Valley. We ordered the same dish - Monte Cristo with Cheese Fries and Gravy. Hands down - Quickway took the cake on all levels. Their homemade gravy from scratch really is the best. The speed in which the food comes out is unmatched by any other diner in the area. The coffee is literally NUMBER ONE in the area. Teek or Vee is always walking through greeting guests and making sure we are happy. If you go in late at night, you may get one of those older ladies who seem mad at the world - but we've been going to this place since highschool, and they've been working there that long too. So we expect it, and honestly, enjoy the late night waitresses and their snappy attitudes. It just feels right for the Quickway! Recently I got their ruben sandwich with pastrami - so good. so buttery. basically exactly what I wanted. slapped a little russian dressing on it - BAM! We always pass it by when driving on Route 17, and yesterday, coming back from Geneseo, made a pit stop here. Well, I expected better. We ordered as basic as it gets-cheeseburgers. The meat is definitely a pre-made patty, wonder if it even was fresh or frozen. They were cooked well rather than the medium we had asked for. The fries were nothing special. The employees mask wearing is something else-some wore it under their chin, some wore it just to cover their mouths. That said, the instant a diner becomes part of a retail complex involving ice cream, gas, and used car sales - sponsored by two guys named Teek and Vee - is the instant a diner ascends to the highest possible praise I can give. The Quickway Diner would be at home anywhere in Northern New Jersey. Passing by on our way home from a cabin in the woods where miraculously my wife and I weren't axe-murdered, we needed something to eat. I wasn't super hungry, she needed food pretty badly for a gastric condition. Signs were seen on 17, meds were taken, loins were girded, and we were quickly at the Quickway. Lo and behold, what a proper Pullman looks like in front - the tiny square tiles, well-polished chrome on the counter, fully rotary stools with what looked like the original vinyl coverings! Were it not crowded with who I can assume were the Regulars, we'd have plunked keister to vinyl. Into the dining room we went. Clearly recently renovated, it wasn't a bad place to sit and have a lovely view of the Catskill region. There's a Quickdraw-only TV in this space if you want to gamble while you wait and eat. First stops, chicken soup. Nicely done, either homemade or done by a foodservice vendor that's getting it right, the noodles were freshly cooked and a nice al dente egg noodle. The veggies and chicken were omnipresent and joyful. Eggs, done by request - dry, with the wife's English muffin not buttered. It may be something fairly obvious that the staff convey orders properly, but some diners just don't get "please use minimal cooking spray on the eggs and no butter on the toast" as if they're being asked to perform complex quantum physics on a tightrope. But they got it right, the eggs were nice and fluffy, the toast was try. Meatloaf sandwich. HOLY CRAP. Teek, Vee, get out of the car business and into the cookbook business. I will buy your meatloaf recipe sight unseen. Among the best meatloaves I've ever had anywhere, mostly because of copious garlic. This is a good thing. It was served with a little dish of gravy, which was very definitely homemade and was a HELLA implementation of meatloaf gravy. Again, guys, sell me the recipe. Fries. Standard 1/4" x 1/4" size, DONE PROPERLY. Crisp outside, literal fluffy inside. Whatever combination of oil, time and temp that has been put forth here, it is the correct one that should be emulated. Sadly, this is but four stars. Reasons? Mostly circumstantial changes from the superior master class of Jersey diner, presented here as points of improvement for the Quickway and not indicative of flaws. -Water doesn't go down on the table automatically. -No Splenda/sweeteners on the table, just normal sugar. -No jelly came out with the eggs. -Bit of a cramped entryway. Look, those things are just me being a good critic and offering constructive bits. It's not to slam the Quickway - if nothing else, it'd elevate it. This is quickly my new favorite diner. Would that I lived in the area, but if I'm ever driving NY 17, I am going to include a meal at the Quickway in my travel plans. Not driving during a mealtime to pass the Quickway? It's a pretty standard menu, with reasonable prices. The servers were friendly enough, though stretched a little thin. It's a fine stop for travelers. I hope that locals have a few better options. I had a great experience at the Quickway Diner (please see my review of the Mountain View Restaurant if you'd like some backstory). Though we arrived with no reservation and a group of 11 we were seated in the busy dining room within moments of arriving. The staff was friendly and conscientious. The food was delicious, exactly what you would expect from a side of the road 24 hour diner. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that they were a little slow at the beginning, and we had two people who had to get on the road. I think we waited about fifteen minutes before someone even came over to take our drink orders, but I think that's reasonable for a large group on a Sunday morning. read more

I was really disappointed with my visit. I've always heard the radio commercials and meant to try this place while on the road and really regret stopping. They boast lots of award certificates in their window for best food, but I can't imagine by whom. I was served the most disgusting plate of food ever in my life. Never before have I said "I can't eat this." I thought I couldn't go wrong with veggie kabobs over rice but what I got was rice literally swimming in oil with a few spoiled and overly seasoned veggies on top. The tomatoes onions and peppers tasted like they had been pickled to preserve their life and then had a ton of gross dry herbs on top to mask the fact that they were rancid. I couldn't even drink the tap water because it tasted like dishwasher detergent and chlorine. We just came back from Belmont Stakes, and we like to go to box car diners. Although you can't tell from the outside. My fiancee and I both grew up around the Hudson Valley and have been enjoying Teek and Vee's hilarious radio and TV spots for years. When we finally managed to make it to Quickway this week, we were not disappointed. The place was right off of 17 (as advertised) and well maintained on the interior and exterior. We particularly liked the old-school booth/bar setup in the diner part of the restaurant. Getting seated was a little confusing because a lot of people were standing around the entrance, but once we were at our booth the waitress was friendly and the food came lightning fast. I had chicken in the basket, which was well-presented, nice and crispy, and piping hot. My fiancee had the burger, which she said tasted delicious ("like home-made") and came on a fresh bun. Their coffee, which was advertised as Best in Hudson Valley, was in fact quite good. Finally, both proprietors were around making sure everyone was taken care of too, which we thought was a cool touch (I admit it, we were a little star-struck). All in all it was a nice experience for not a lot of money. We'll all come back now! read more

My husband and I went there for breakfast today. My husband enjoyed his pancakes with two eggs over easy and a side of bacon. I ordered a western omelette, it only had some peppers and onions, didn't really see much ham in this omelette and no cheese in it what so ever. Was disappointed and the home fries weren't so tasty. All the staff is so very friendly. I noticed on the front door walking in, there was a sign saying masks required. People walking around in the diner and no masks at all on them. Was a little discouraged with that. The other thing that was a little gross was the ketchup bottle on the table had ketchup all over the outside of the cap and down the bottle. Concerned if they clean the tables after each customer. I have to say I would try it again. Everyone deserves a second chance. Hoping next time it will be better. Was told by staff there that the original cook was off today and there were a lot of food mistakes happening. Like I said I will try them again. read more

On your way out west towards Binghamotn/Ithaca/Rochester/Buffalo? Or heading back to NYC area from those points, then you will find the Quickway Diner along Route 17. I stopped here for breakfast on my way out west and this spot was exactly what I thought it was going to be. Quick and inexpensive breakfast that will be served within minutes of my order. The one thing i love about long road trips is stopping at a very local place along the way. I prefer to hit up a local restaurant than pay triple the price at fast-food corporate chains that occupy the major highway rest stops. For $6, you can have breakfast for two people here. The food? Well, it is a diner, so you know what you are going to get. All they had to do was melt the cheese more on the eggs and toast the bread rather than just warm it up a little and I would have no complaints. No reason to complain about this place. You are not in NYC any longer if you are heading out West, so don't be snobby. Just enjoy the local spots and continue on your journey. read more

I had an all in all great experience at this local diner. We get seated extremely quickly, the food was delicious and perfectly cooked and the waiters were very friendly. I recommend this place if you want to pop in and have a quick bite to eat. The only problem I had last time I visited is that the service was a little slow and took 20-30 minutes for us to get served, which was a little odd considering it was only us and 2 more families their. Apparently the quick way dinner is a staple in Bloomingburg. I would have never stumbled upon it unless we were directed to go there to check in for the Extreme Homemaker that was taking place this August. The place itself looks a little dated/scary from the outside and inside. We honestly did not know what to expect when we walked in. We sat down in their carpeted dining room and ordered burgers (my friend had the turkey and I had the beef). My burger was really good. Now, it had no frills to it, but it was good. (Tasted like something that Dad would have cooked on the grill.) And you can't bet the price. $3.75. P.S. - My friend really liked her turkey burger as well. As far as the staff is concerned, out waitress was top notch! (I think her name was Jasmine). She was extremely friendly and attentive. I would go back, just to have her serve us again. My wife and I visit there often. Best restaurant coffee!!! We usually get breakfast, and the only thing is consistency cooking eggs. Over easy is usually over med or hard. Real butter on toast and cream for coffee. Mostly locals, but worth the stop while passing through. read more

Well I can honestly say after all the hype all the ads and all the giant billboards I finally after many years of living in Sullivan County ate at the Quickway diner in Bloomingburg I have to say it is a very pretty restaurant for a diner but I must also say the food was absolutely horrible. I asked for a medium rare hamburger... I got a dry gray pice of what looked like is might have been a hamburger with bacon on top that looked like it had been cooked four hours ago after eating it because we were in a hurry to get to our destination ... in about an hour later I had terrible stomachache and wished I hadn't eaten at the Quickway diner in Bloomingburg I don't think I would go back it's a "Quickway" to get food poisoning read more
