after hours of long driving, this was a sight for sore eyes (I know there are a lot of gas stations, I really liked this one)

Wowsers, another gem, I wish we had these in Los Angeles, sadly what we have is Arco Am/Pm's saturating the entire state, very limited gas pumps, gas quality not really good & the convenience store portions suck. Yea cheap self serve soda fountains & coffee, but very limited in selection. Quik Trip was a lot bigger, acres of gas pumps (not exaggerating, it has more than the LA gas stations), bigger better selection of snacks and drinks, coffee section was really cheap and quality was excellent. Actual food, not like 7-11 or Am/Pm hot foods that look like they been sitting all day in the hot lamp looking ripe and overcooked. Clean gas station and store, friendly and helpful cashiers/employees. When in Arizona, we'll definitely fill up at these particular gas stations.

Customer service is good but this is One of the worst QT I have been at!!!! Yes I know its a very busy store but it has really gone down hill. The restrooms are disgusting, the floors all over look like they have not been cleaned in years. I know the crew may be trying but the place is just run down.

It's time to top off the tank before heading back to LA. The price on the sign showed $3.69 but when I get to the pump it's $3.64. SWEET! One thing about Phoenix, you can drive 3-4 miles and gas prices from station to station may vary only a few cents, up to 3 or MAYBE 5 cents per gallon regardless of brand, it's very consistant, unlike LA. In LA I've driven a mile or two and see prices vary as much as 15 - 20 cents a gallon from one station to another! QT has a nice decent sized store with plenty of munchies, including REAL food like sandwichws, salads, etc, plus beverages and other snacks. It's always been clean inside and the staff has always been nice.

But it's about as good as fire-roasted chicken gets. When you approach, the unmistakable waft of mesquite smoke fills your senses. This chicken is roasted over an open mesquite fire, giving it a special flavor that you'll never get at the corporate chicken joints. Your choices are a 1/2 chicken, or a full chicken. They also Offer beef ribs. You can pick from several sides, and I recommend the rice, beans, and the macaroni salad. They're all amazing. Your chicken is served hot off the grill with an ENORMOUS side of corn tortillas (you can get flour too) and a heap of salsa. They have several to pick from (the green is amazing). So you take. Steaming hot tortilla, add some rice and beans and chicken, then top with salsa, roasted jalapeños (which are, themselves, to die for), pickled onions. Wrap it all up, take a full bite, and prepare to be blown away. It's hot, moist, tender, and the mesquite sends it out of this world. This is the chicken you'd eat after a long day out in the fields or wrangling cattle. It's simple, tasty, and comforting. The best I've had. So if you're craving some real fire roasted chicken and pollo loco is the only sad option you can think of, try pollo correteado. You can't go wrong. Come early or come Off-hours (like at 3pm). The place gets PACKED and has like 3 tables. You can eat outside if it's not Arizona-hot. Some misters provide a little respite from the heat. Stupendous chicken. The real deal.

The layout is a bit challenging since the menu board faces perpendicular to where you enter. When I arrived a group were craning their necks to read the options. This is not fancy. My order was called and I had the charcoal grilled fish and my friend had the classic burger . We also split the chili fries. Both came on paper fry containers and a cafeteria style tray. There was a large condiments stand with wagon wheels. It is similar to chuckbox but much larger. The food was decent and the fish cooked correctly. I apologize for no pics, we were engaged in a stimulating conversation. People put food first but in today's workd, we need to spend more time talking and listening to one another. I completely forgot to take pics of the food. Overall, it is a simple smashed style of burger patty. The ambiance is lower lighting with a western aged setting. Think traditional western style. It was my first time and while not my preferred style of burger, the food is decent. This is a place that offers customizable food, TV's and it was not too noisy. The counter person was extremely helpful in offering insights and options. Enjoy your experience and wear your boots and Cowboy hat.

That location is close to a place I go to frequently, so this is another option for me if I should need some food and don't want to do Salad & Go, but want something healthy. I got an Asian Grilled Burrito with Wild Salmon. Was driving so a bowl I could not do. I could barely eat the burrito driving because it's sort of flat and had rice. It was very yummy. Something I learned was Angie's does not have straws and if you order a Refresher, they give you a packet of something to put in the cup. You have to figure out how to make the Refresher, which I saw at the soda fountain dispenser there was sparkling water, so I did that and some Vanilla Torino's. I went about 11 am, and the Torino's were nearly gone and the little table that it was on was fairly unclean. The area to order, where you pickup the order, the soda area, and the metal table by the soda area were all really close and crowded. Since this was my first time there, I didn't even understand that you had to order at some kiosk. They had one by the pickup area and 2 more on the east wall. Felt overwhelming for me. I did not see what the dining area looked like. My burrito was $11-12 and the Refresher was $2. My daughter said their prices were much better than Salad and Go and other places, but I found my meal similar. Oh, I guess the getting wild salmon was the costly thing. Had I gotten chicken, it would've been much less. My daughter said she's never had their burritos, only their salads. A lady that had ordered many times there did help me with some things I didn't understand and she said she loves their food. Turns out the owner of Angie's named the places after his mom who passed away about 5 yrs ago. He also started Salad and Go and this is upscale from Salad and Go. I'm glad this is an option. But maybe they can keep prices good is to cut on the things that don't really matter as much and focus on the food. I'm good with that. The next time I go to an Angie's, I will be better prepared. There isn't one too close to me like there are lots of Salad and Go's, so I hope they open some in Gilbert, Mesa, and Scottsdale. Oh, parking is not that great at this location. You basically need to be heading east on Thomas before 1st Ave as there are a few parking spots on the diagonal. Don't park in the First Watch parking lot. If you're coming west on Thomas, make a u-turn after you pass 1st Ave.
