Met a group of ladies from their church for dinner. The restaurant was pretty busy since it was a Sunday night. I chose the beef tips since they came recommended with a baked potato and the salad bar. Everything was fresh and the bar was clean and constantly being restocked and attended to. Our server, Jennifer, went above and beyond for our large group and did so with a smile.

What you see here is a plate of fried gizzards, fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, a yeast roll and a side of peach cobbler. This is just a portion of the food that's offered by one of Monroe's favorite places to eat... Quincy's Family Steak House.  This restaurant was closed for a while due to a fire. Now that it's reopened, the food is better than ever. Buffet style restaurant with plenty of options for you and yours. The fried gizzards was lightly breaded, well seasoned and tender. The fried chicken with moist and crispy.... And everybody loves crispy chicken skin. The mashed potatoes was creamy and the gravy was a delightful topping. I didn't really like the peach cobbler because it wasn't sweet enough for me and the cobbler was hard. If you are ever in or driving through Monroe, NC.... Quincy's a try. #explorepage #foodie #foodporn #instafood #foodstagram #foodblogger #foodlover #friedchicken #foodgasm #instagood #foodiesofinstagram #foodpics #tasty #Quincys #followforfollow #GratuityAdded #UnionCounty #Monroe #foodlover #foodbeast #family #cltfoodie #gravy #gizzards #Buffet

So my wife and I had went here just to try there food out a I have to say it was our first time and our last time so the lunch buffet looked good so I had the stake and onion and the stake taste awful The dinner rolls were soggy. The mashed potatoes were runny the gray had a nasty taste the fried chicken didn't have any taste. Fried liver was so damn hard I could barely chew it so I got a salad. Everything was good till I bit into the tomato that was sour . chicken pot pie was about the best thing they had going chicken and dumplings they were OK. Now the service from the waiter was good she was fast on the refills and fast at taking the dirty dishes away now she gets 5 stars but the overall place gets one star and that's me being nice the place looked clean and everything but the food just made me sick the worst $25 on food we had ever spent stake is ment to be fried not boiled and the chicken needs to have a spice or two in the breading there was none at all

1 Star My family has…read morebeen coming to Hilltop Restaurant for years. In fact, it was my father's favorite restaurant and a place where we shared countless meals together. We visited Hilltop today to honor the third anniversary of his passing and spend time together remembering him at a place that meant so much to our family. I want to start by saying that our waitress was very friendly and kind throughout our visit. She was not the issue. The problem was the manager and the complete lack of compassion and professionalism she showed during what was already an emotional day for our family. I ordered a meal I've enjoyed many times over the years. When there was some confusion about ordering Alfredo as a side, I completely understood that menu items and policies can change. That wasn't the issue. What bothered me was the manager's response. Instead of simply explaining the current policy, she felt the need to tell me that she had been designing the menu for years and that the way I had ordered it in the past was wrong. The interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive and argumentative. Later, while holding my 8-week-old baby, I tripped over a table in the waiting area and banged up my shin pretty badly. Already emotional from the reason we were there, I stepped outside to collect myself while comforting my newborn. When my mother later mentioned the incident to the same manager--not to demand anything, but simply to make her aware of a potential safety concern--the response was, "Well, that table has been there for years and no one has tripped over it." Again, there was no concern for whether I was okay. No apology. Just another defensive response. By that point, I had completely lost my appetite. When my food arrived, there was still confusion with my order, but honestly, the food was no longer the issue. Mistakes happen. Orders can be fixed. What can't be fixed is how a customer is made to feel. What should have been a meaningful family meal spent remembering my father turned into an experience where we felt dismissed, unheard, and unwelcome. At no point did the manager offer an apology for her comments, for my fall, or for the overall experience. After years of supporting this restaurant and making family memories there, I am deeply disappointed. For a family-owned business, I expected far more compassion, especially toward a family gathering to honor a loved one. Sadly, that compassion was nowhere to be found. We will not be returning.

Steak and frites- steak was cooked med well as expected. Overall good dish - family side: creamy spinach: very fresh tasting and not overloaded with cheese as you normally see. Def worth a reorder! - dessert: speciality Oreo cheesecake. Aahhhmazing! Service: (C) our waitress was nice don't get me wrong, but she was away from the table more than present at the table. The kitchen was also slower than expected, but we are not entirely sure if that was due to wait staff multi-tasking difficulties or the kitchen itself. Overall, the service was slow and unexpectedly poor for how nice and expensive the Porter house is- room for improvement for sure. Ambiance: (A) formal dinning feel with low lighting. Not busy for a Thursday evening so it was a nice environment- would have been perfect with better service. Would we go back? - for sure, food was great, just wouldn't set high expectations to leave sooner than 2-3 hours due to service.

When we got to our table there was a hand written card saying Happy Anniversary and a few rose petals on the table. This was a very nice touch and we genuinely appreciated it. Our server, Eddie, was very personable and super helpful with the food and drink menus. He is definitely good at what he does. The food was also spectacular! I got the Braised Short Rib and my wife got the pasta with shrimp and crab. For appetizers we got the crab cakes and the mussels, which were also amazing. Paint it, strip it, or change it. After waiting a few weeks, we visited on a Friday right after 5 p.m. Overall, nice place, lots of space, and warm welcomes. Cool. Then out came the leaf blower during our visit to remove a few pesky leaves out front. "What?" we yelled at each other. Worrisome. Several early reviews questioned service and tastiness, so we lofted them a couple softballs: Classic martini, Manhattan, and flat bread. The Flatbread with prosciutto, goat cheese, fig jam, and arugula was fantastic. I'd order it again. The drinks, however, were poorly made, lacked the proper ingredients, and reflected a novice behind the bar. When does a classic martini taste sweet? And when does a Manhattan look pale as a rosé? It was explained the regular bartender was not on shift. Ouch. I have high hopes for this place, but clearly, they must figure out how to present themselves as a tour de force in this tiny, emerging space as great eats in Monroe. Has my "Give 'em a Whirl" meter set to "Hmmmm," and praying for a strong showing next time. Visit and encourage them to improve!

The tv's at the bar area were the smallest I have ever seen, odd. It felt like such a weird vibe and didn't want to take a chance on the food considering it was not cheap. Maybe I'll be back?
