Just returned from visit Quito Veterinary Hospital. The good and the bad below: The Bad: Dr. Ross had not even left for the clinic when it was already 10 minutes into my appointment. I got a text - not ahead of time but rather 10 minutes into my appointment while waiting for him at the vet office. That is disrespectful of my time and irresponsible. Further, I was there for a rabies vaccine update for my cat and after I left I realized that he hadn't discussed anything about any side effects or really anything at all with me. The Good: Samantha. A cat whisperer. Gentle, knowledgeable, kind. She should be the vet. Will I go back? Not likely. Further note: They did give me a discount because he was late, but that doesn't address the time I wasted and that my cat was unduly stressed waiting. Should have called in advance to tell me he was running late. Or even apologized for being late. Or given me any medical information pertaining to my cat. Zero, nothing. read more

THE BEST VET EVER! My dog went missing 4 months ago from Morgan Hill. I had searched everywhere and filed every report imaginable. Not only did they take care of my baby dog when she was brought in, but they refused to allow me to pay for treatment. They will take care of your pet, but you as well. I could not give more credit to their team for supporting my family during the hardest times. They lead with compassion and they stick with professionalism. If your baby needs care, know they'll take every step to make sure your pet it in good hands. Forever grateful for them taking the extra mile to reunite me and my dog. But of course, the doctor hired them so it makes sense. I went in to get flea medicine the other day and they wouldn't give me even one dose because I haven't done a yearly exam. I was overdue a few days!!! I have never been treated so poorly. I emailed them and Samantha who is the office manager emailed me back and basically told me they would send my records to whomever I was moving my cat over to. Of course I would leave. I am so disappointed with Quito. Your receptionist Diana hung up on me after making a rude comment and tone of voice stating,"THIS IS A PLACE OF BUSINESS MAM." My cat was feeling heavily stressed and sick, so naturally I was on the emotional side this morning. Before even going in to be seen, over the phone, Diana was giving me all these estimates that gave me a shocking response because it was so expensive. It's hard times out here. It was absolutely unnecessary to respond the way she did to a customer where I have brought all 4 of my cats to and have spent lots of money at. I understand you are a business but you didn't have to make me feel worse than I was already feeling. Thank you for showing your true colors. You have completely turned me off to this vet and when I stated I will not be doing business with them anymore Diana also said ,"good, don't then." I work in customer service and my advice to you is retrain your employee. At least fake that you care. Horrible experience and you best believe I will be spreading the word. read more

I need to share serious concerns about the visit my dogs, Picasso and Mia, had at this clinic. Picasso has not been the same since his vaccination. He screamed from the back room during the injection, which was extremely distressing. After the visit, he was unable to walk properly for nearly three days. He's had nightly diarrhea -- three episodes on Sunday and two last night. His stool is loose, he has very low energy, and this is completely unlike him. Picasso is normally a happy, active dog. We received no full disclosure about possible side effects, risks, or any post-care instructions. This vaccination appears to have been too strong for him. Mia is 12 years old, and the vet barely performed a proper annual exam. There seemed to be far more emphasis on dental cleaning than on a thorough senior check-up. The assistant came in with a list of dental-related prep procedures -- including urine testing. I specifically asked whether her age required a more complete physical exam first. I agreed to a blood test but declined the urine sample. When I asked about the urine procedure and learned it required a needle through the abdomen, I declined again. The assistant confirmed they would not collect a urine sample. Mia was taken to the back for vaccination, and when they returned, the assistant was holding a tube of Mia's urine. She said, "Oops, I forgot you said no urine, but I already got it -- do you want me to discard it?" I was shocked. At that point, I allowed the charge since the sample was already taken, but this should never have happened. After she went back to the office, I could clearly hear her celebrating with the doctor -- laughing about what had just happened. This was incredibly unprofessional and upsetting. Overall Experience: The exam itself felt rushed and superficial. The doctor barely touched either dog, and even asked me to lift their lips for the dental check. We have had pets for many years, and this is the worst veterinary experience we've ever had at a clinic we used to trust. It genuinely feels like something has changed -- possibly ownership or management -- because the quality of care is noticeably different. At this point, we need to cancel all future appointments. Picasso needs immediate care from another clinic because he is not doing well. read more

I love Doctor Pitsinger at Quito. She's incredibly thorough and massively cares about the animals. Staff is always friendly and does a good job on follow up. I do a lot of rescue work and they are great with untamed community cats (a rare find) so if your cat is not touchable, they are a perfect option. And our friendly family cats are well taken care of as well. The vet techs get creative on solving problems (cat with no urine gets to hang out in the back for awhile), cat being checked for a heart issue is put in a very quiet and dark room to calm down before the testing) and they have a great sense of fun. read more

We've been taking our cat to see the wonderful Dr. Sharma at Quito for many years. Our cat gets aggressive at the vet and must be sedated for checkups, and requires a heavy dose of gabapentin before appointments so she can even be sedated. Our first appt after Dr. Sharma's departure: the anesthesia machine is broken. Unfortunate but what can you do. However, Dr. Pitsinger refused to prescribe more gabapentin (we ran out to prepare for this checkup) because our cat is now out of date for checkups. Thus, a chicken or egg scenario: no gabapentin until a checkup. No checkup without gabapentin. She also refused to talk to me in person: forcing her assistants to run back and forth as a messenger. This is because she "felt like she didn't have to defend her decision". We were worried that Dr. Sharma's replacement had big shoes to fill, but never thought Dr Pitsinger would utterly fail on so many fronts right from the very first appointment. read more

I've been coming to Quito for about maybe 2 years and will continue to go there! They're an amazingly nice team. Mr. Billy is such a nice caring man! He was very welcoming! It's always a pleasure to see Dr. Pitsinger, my dogs favorite Dr. first time I came in was for my Doberman, Kenzo, who was suffering from stones in his urethra. Called all around and it lead me to Quito veterinary hospital, they did a cystotomy and neuter! Absolutely TERRIBLE costumer service with zero understanding or compassion. The vet my pet saw left the hospital and I was told her care would transfer over to another vet. The new vet refused to fulfill her prescription because she hasn't seen my pet but we moved out of the area and needed final refill of her prescription. I was told on the phone to just send over the blood work and it would get refilled but this new vet refused to refill it because she hasn't seen my pet. Now my pet is out of medication and I need to scramble to take her to/pay for another vet to get her medication. Terrible communication and now I'm left extremely frustrated and my cat is out of her medication. read more

Best Vet office in town. Dr Rosette retired awhile back and left the place in great hands. My dog Charlie and kittens Hazel and Vaeda are patients of Dr Pitsinger who is awesome, kind and caring. Charlie has also been seen by Dr Sharma who is also wonderful. The staff are great too! Shawn (hope I'm spelling your name right) is always great to talk to and is always very helpful. Daria is great, friendly and helpful as well. Just a kitty visit today and she asked how Charlie was. I haven't dealt with anyone there that wasn't compassionate and caring. They always get back to me and I have 3 pets who have issues...allergies, gastro etc. So I call or come in frequently. Have never felt like I'm bothering them. If you need veterinary care for you fur baby OR are looking for a new Doc. don't think twice. You can't go wrong at Quito! They are fairly priced the clinic is always clean and the staff are GREAT. I've been taking our cats to Quito since 2017. The vets and staff do an incredible job at taking care of our pets. We've had some tough moments (saying goodbye to our two beloved elderly cats) and many, many happy moments at Quito. We brought our cat, Cheddar to Quito in June because he was having trouble going to the bathroom. It turned out that he had bladder stones and needed emergency surgery. Mind you, all of this was happening while we were preparing our move to San Diego! Not that there's ever a good time to have a sick pet, but this was one of the worst times for us. The staff at Quito were SO responsive and brought him in ASAP. The surgery went as well as hoped, and he recovered incredibly well (just a bruised ego from wearing that protective cone for 3 weeks! haha). They were so good at keeping us informed of his progress, and they were so patient when I asked them 100 questions. They called a few times after he was discharged to check in on him. It's always really hard to have a sick pet, but I am so grateful that we had Quito on our side to take care of him. It's been four months and I *still* get teary-eyed thinking about it. Their regular services (routine check-ups, shots, etc.) are all affordable and they are very transparent about their pricing. I had the worst experience at Quito today. I had an appointment at 3:30 p.m. today, and upon arrival, it seemed they had canceled my appointment and moved it to another date. This was a clear mistake on their end, as they got confused with another dog sharing the same name as mine. They asked me to sit and wait while they worked on sorting this. They came back to me saying that I should drop off my pet and return later to pick her up. I explained that this was not feasible for me as I had come in between my workday and had to rearrange meetings to accommodate this agreed-upon appointment time. This sudden change was not only inconvenient but also disrupted my work schedule. Up until this point, everything was okay, and we were having a smooth conversation; we would have eventually worked out a later date/time, but no, just at this point, 'an apathetic lady from Quito's staff' who I will not name, jumped into the conversation and asked me what was the appointment about, upon understanding, her first words were if your dog is doing okay then there is no need for the appointment (Backstory: This is what I have been telling Quito since past 2 weeks that my dog is doing okay, but they almost pressurized me to come have a follow up). And after that, no matter what I said, her only answer was NO. Her cold body language, indifferent facial expressions, and lack of empathy towards the inconvenience they had caused me were unbelievable. After seeing her attitude, I tried to be sarcastic and asked if they would refund me '$20', as they charge $20 late fees, and in this case, I was on time, but they did not provide service - to which she said, "NO." At this point, I realized I was assigned a person who lacked empathy, consideration, compassion, sensitivity, and above that, consideration that the other person is still trying to be humorous in such a situation. As a loyal customer of Quito for almost 3.5 years, I was deeply disappointed by the staff member I had to deal with. My loyalty to Quito was not taken into consideration, and this has led me to reconsider my choice of vet for my dog. However, I urge the Quito management to handle such situations with empathy and to ensure they have a team of staff members who understand the nature of a vet office, where care and understanding are paramount. read more

My appointment was on 11-14-22. I do not know the name of the assistant but she mentioned she had been there 6 years. She had me lift my dog on the scale and also had me lift my dog on the examination table where the thermometer is typically inserted into the anus. But not this time. She had me hold the leash and she had a moving target as my french bulldog moved away from her ON THE FLOOR. Additionally, I asked for a business card TWICE and still don't have one. I asked both her and Dr. Sharma to make sure my dog's anal gland was expressed in the back room. As I was handed the $390.60 estimate for a medical procedure the assistant said "goodbye" and was leading me out of the examination room and I said "What about the anal expression? I had to make THREE requests. Lastly, Dr. Sharma asked me for information on my dog's condition and as I was getting near my final sentences she interrupted me. And when I pointed out that I was not finished answering HER QUESTION she looked directly at me and said "YOU ARE RUDE." I have worked in verbal negotiations for over 40 years. I never once had this occur. At one point, I said to Dr. Sharma "Being that I am here please do the exam ( she had threatened not to do the exam) and if that if that is how you feel I will not come back." Well I am not going to bring my dog there anymore. FIVE REQUESTS by me above and only one promise kept. I was a customer of 17 years and brought both my Beagle and French Bulldog there. read more

Everyone here is so friendly and I genuinely feel like my fur babies are in caring and knowledgeable hands when we come here. I took my dog here last week and had a truck load of questions but I never felt rushed or that I was taking up the veterinarian's time. The Vet was genuine with her answers and gave great advice and backed it up with the research she's done on her own. We were also given options for our pupper's care and I never feel like we're pushed to go the more expensive route. It's obvious that they care and love animals. I also found that their prices are incredibly reasonable! I'm so glad we found this vet as the others in this area just couldn't compare. read more

The last time we went here was back in November 2020. The reason I am writing this review now is to hopefully illustrate my experience so that it may help others. It is a little long so I apologize. Keep in mind that this is my personal experience and it may not reflect the opinions of others! Dr. Sandy Rosete was the reason why we took our dog, Candy, to this clinic. We recently found out that Dr. Rosete was no longer practicing at Quito and we were saddened by the news. But because we are literally a 1 minute drive away from the practice, we thought we would continue to take Candy here. Wherever you are practicing now Dr. Rosete, my family and I hope all is well! We miss you! Candy has been experiencing episodes of pancreatitis for a few years now, and when she does have it we would take her to Quito and to Dr. Rosete specifically. When Candy first had pancreatitis back in 2017, we were extremely stressed and worried. Dr. Rosete was compassionate and comforted my mom, who had been in literal tears because of Candy. The way Dr. Rosete embraced my mom and consoled her during such a sensitive time exemplifies just how incredible Dr. Rosete is! When Candy recently went through another episode of pancreatitis, we saw Dr. Baljit Chahal. He is competent as a veterinarian with his years of experience. However, we felt he lacked the incredible and empathetic bedside manner that Dr. Rosete had. He went over his plan of treatment options with us, but it felt as though we were being lectured- not the best feeling during a time where you are worried about your sick dog. He then proceeded to talk about her teeth; she has very bad teeth due to her previous owner neglecting her oral hygiene, and scolded us for not taking care of the manner. We explained that she had received many teeth cleanings in the past and that we do the best we can to manage it, but he told us that she would need surgery to extract the teeth. When we spoke of our concerns with anesthesia complications and her age, he appeared elitist and explained that he was confident Candy would not pass on the table. I did not think this was an appropriate conversation to have at the time, but maybe I was just sensitive? COVID-19 has changed the ways in which many veterinary clinics operate nowadays, but I am confident that Dr. Rosete would still have displayed the level of professionalism and care she is known for. The clinic staff are professional and appear to be caring of the pets that come through here, so it is bittersweet that we have decided to switch veterinarians. Dr. Chahal is a very good veterinarian, but he needs to work on how he communicates with clients. It is this reason and this reason alone that we have made the switch to a different clinic. read more

My first time at Quito, and I was pleasantly surprised!! They are curbside only, which I had my apprehensions about. However, those apprehensions quickly went away as soon as I spoke to one of the employees. I noticed a tapeworm segment from my 3yro cats butt. In a panic, I called Quito. They squeezed me in two days after I called them, which I was very happy about! When you arrive you'll see a number posted on the door to call them and tell them you're there. They brought me an intake form which I filled out. I think there was a little hiccup in communication at first, so after filling out the form I had to wait about 30 minutes, but it wasn't a big deal at all. I didn't mind. Once they came back for the form, they took my cat in. The vet and employees were GREAT with keeping me informed on what they were doing. They call your phone and also come outside to talk. My kitty is very skittish, but they were very sweet to him and understanding. I believe the total time that my cat was away and in the hospital was about 30-40 minutes. I mainly talked to a lady, who's name was Samantha. (I think!) She explained everything to me and allowed me to choose the procedures/tests I wanted done. She answered all questions I had, and just overall really gave me some peace of mind in bringing my baby here. :) If you don't wanna read all that here's the summation: I highly recommend Quito Animal Hospital! read more
