1st time there, not very clean and pizza was horrible. There was 8 customers in the place and it took 15 mins to get a drink.

This bar reminds me a lot of every other bar in the Arena district except that its a HOCKEY bar!!! I love hockey I have seasons tickets to the Jackets. I wish they would have some air hockey or maybe the old school hockey game that has a huge plastic dome on it, you know it. Other than that its pretty awesome. Definitely a hockey bar--thought I was in Canada--but a great place to hang out on an NFL Sunday afternoon too. And, it's only 10 mins from the airport if you are looking to kill time before a flight. Thin crust pizza is a good choice. Great service. Nice location in the arena district (although a little tricky to find your first time since you can't see from road). Indoor and outdoor seating. It's bar food in a sports bar. It's not going to be the best meal of your life, however, when I worked at another restaurant in the Arena District, a coworker and I would share a Buffalo Chicken Pizza from R Bar every Monday. It's probably my favorite pizza that doesn't come from a chain. read more

Good place, Great hockey atmosphere. But unless you are a huge hockey fan, there isn't much to write home about. Just a typical bar. They do have some ok beers on tap. And during the summer it has a pretty good patio, but it is kinda small and just ends up getting filled up with smokers. If you get there early enough it isn't bad. My wife and I stopped in this place for some food and a beer before a concert at Nationwide Arena. With thousands of concert goers coming to the area and Bengals/Browns/Steelers all playing on TV the bar had ONE person working. She was working her ass off but being both waitress and bartender for that many people was overwhelming. We ordered some wings and a couple of burgers. The spicy garlic sauce on the wings was tasty but the meat was a little rubbery. The burgers were probably the driest I have ever had. Cooked beyond well done. read more

Called in day of to see if they were playing the OSU hockey game because it was impossible to stream. The man I spoke with said he would figure it out then called me back to say he figured out a way to stream it for us. So nice and much appreciated! Will definitely be back! read more

My husband and I went to the Rbar last weekend before a BlueJackets hockey game and I have to say this place was pretty kick ass. They had a ton of hockey memorabilia on the walls which my husband loved. We walked around looking at the walls for the first half hour we were there. It was like a hockey museum but better because you can drink alcohol and look around. We ordered the buffalo chicken pizza and it was amazing. The other food looked good and the prices were very reasonable. Better than any of the other places down in the Arena District. The happy hour prices were awesome and until 8pm which is way longer than most bars in Columbus. The staff was very helpful and super nice to us. We are definitely planning on going back to enjoy the large patio if it ever gets nice outside again. read more

The service sucked. We waited on everything for a long time- waited to order, waited on the food, waited on refills when our cup was empty, and we waited for our checks. Great Hockey bar, imports are a little pricey, but happy hour is cheap and service is good, the food is also pretty good, this is a must go to for Columbus Blue Jackets Pregame and Post game eating and drinking. read more

Newbie in the Arena "grand" area. So far, I regret venturing out for lunch. And this place and their 1/2 off pizzas is another reason why I will be packing my lunch from now on. $10.00 spent on a soda and 12" pizza. I looked at my bill and I noticed a 10 cent charge for rounding? Help me out here guys? What the freak is a rounding charge? Oh! They're pizza is Better than Boston's gourmet pizza. I go here on the reg. It's probably the best place to watch a blue jackets' away game. And it's good for before/after CBJ games too. It's all hockey themed. Any time you feel like watching hockey, you can come here and not get weird looks when you ask them to show a specific hockey game. They have the NHL package so out of market games are in play too. It's good for other sports also but the NHL trumps all other comers in this particular bar. The service is ok. The bar has weird angles and a central bar with a liquor pyramid so the bartenders have a hard time seeing all the customers a lot of the time. Their bartenders are never nice though and don't seem to be huge hockey fans. The food is better than one would expect, given the busy-ness of the place and the industrial feel. They have decent burgers and pizza and everything comes at a reasonable price. Here's the worst thing about the bar. Someone with TERRIBLE taste in music controls the jukebox and plays the worst of late '90's hard rock. All the time. I've actually heard "down with the sickness" played un-ironically in this bar... more than once. I'm not sure if it's a ploy to get people to pump money in the jukebox or if they're actively trying to repel women, but I'd rather hear cotton eye'd joe on repeat than the ridiculously bad music they play here. read more

Terrible. If the bar wasn't next to the arena, it would be gone already. Friendly staff but order same drink 3 time from 2 bartenders and all drinks were different. Asked what was good and was told wings. I travel the country and love wings.....hands down the worst cooked wings I have ever tasted. Only took 2 minutes to come out and they are baked. What did you half bake them early today and microwave them to reheat? Come to Columbus a lot. I don't care if they are open late....would rather go to the bar at the Hyatt nearby and be done early than visit them again. went to r bar in the arena district. lots of thumbs down. we went with a group of people from work and the seating was absolutely pathetic. it was 1/2 off pizza day, but the ovens could only handle two pizzas at a time. for the cost (after the discount) the food was edible, but certainly not in the same class as tommy's pizza. the service was kinda lousy. we needed a minute to look at the menu, and she didn't return for another 15 minutes. uggg! read more

I love having one drink at happy hour, waiting forever for my check, and then being told by another waiter/bartender, with much attitude and sass, to "make good decisions." Upon further inquiry the bartender justifies her remark as sarcastic, though there was no existing rapport with her. And additionally, for my friends to be told by this joyful bartender, when we are 6 of the whopping 8 customers, that she has "already told one customer to fuck off, and do we want to be the next?" Totally unwarranted. Definitely unprofessional. We work 60 feet away and love happy hour in the arena district. However, we won't be back, and neither will any of our coworkers. Ever. read more
