Food was okay. I ordered the sesame garlic wings and it was giving more bar food than Japanese. The Chili Ponzu Yellow tail was pretty bland. Did not really stand out and i did not get much yellow tail flavor in the dish. The coke zero had a weird taste too it that made me think maybe the soda fountain needs to be cleaned. On July 13th around 3:30 I came into RA Sushi for a first date. Upon being seated we were greeted by the server "Malcolm" We caught him on the end of his shift & I could tell. He was VERY forgetful in bringing my date & I some of our food & drink items. The place was NOT busy mind you. Although nice he needs further training, especially since he has been there since February according to him. By 4 pm he then tells us another sever will be taking care of us since he is leaving. Prior to us being told that, I observed a server starting with the letter "W" ( I believe) going around with a pitcher of water making sure all tables were checked on & ok EXCEPT my table. That ending up being the server who was supposed to take care of us the remainder of our stay. She purposely failed to come to my table. I know this because before leaving & deciding to NEVER come back I found the on duty manager. ( nose piercing & dark hair female) Upon attempting to address them both the server rolled her eyes at me, gave me the most disgusting look & walked away. She was not sorry at all. I will not be returning due to her highly disrespectful & distasteful behavior. The manager present on duty witnessed it all. I took this to heart because not only was I the ONLY black woman in her section again she made sure to speak to everyone but my date & I. I've been here about 3x unfortunately because dates like to go here for some reason... the customer service (mostly in bar area) is horrible. The girls forget, or get wrong the food EVERY TIME . They always have a sour look on their face and are just all around unpleasant. The food is mid at best. I think my people come because the music is usually good and the vibe is cool but it REEEKS of stale grease. I would say our experience at RA sushi was pretty average. We just stopped in for a drink and appetizers. We got the pork gyoza and vegetable tempura. I liked the variety of vegetables that came with the tempura but they didn't come with their own dipping sauce and weren't anything outstanding. The pork gyoza was decent, however not hot when it came out and I wish they would have been fried a little hard not just on the bottom. The service was fine and it seemed like a pretty clean place. Yes, they had Asian in Stillwater but he's wanting something unique. It wasn't a hard sell as he had already mentioned sushi. BTW, I knew he would. Now 18, I took this little dude on every Yelp adventure just after he was born. Born in 2007, I was Elite just after the Austin Market opened for Yelp. Many a meals he's been by my side. Starting in a car seat and sometimes downtown in a stroller. We arrive to a mostly empty dining room. Friendly staff; lots to choose from. We started with the familiar from previous visit Viva Las Vegas Roll. Well, that was gone in seconds. Might was well have some dumplings then. These things should be sold like Chicken Wings. 6, 12, 24 to an order. I'm leading the cutting edge menu thoughts that only Elite folk can provide. Believe the reviews when you see them - the sushi is just awful. I was visiting from the East Coast and flew in after 10pm - I was craving something healthy for a late dinner. I ordered a combo poke bowl (+ miso soup + salad), shishito peppers, and a Sapporo. The peppers were pretty good but the miso soup and poke were awful - the fish quality was really bad and soup was too salty. The staff member behind the sushi bar was really friendly and provided amazing service though, even better than my waitress. Happy hour at RA Sushi is the move. Hands down the best spicy garlic edamame. I order it every time and it never misses. We had a great server who was attentive and made the whole experience easy and enjoyable. Love the outdoor seating especially with the fire pit. We came here on a sushi craving, mostly because it's tucked into a lively, popular complex--one of those "it has to be good if it's here" assumptions. In hindsight, the completely empty dining room should've been our first clue. We were seated right away (unsurprisingly), and from there... things just felt off. There was only one server, and the energy was very much "you're on your own tonight." He took our order and then reappeared sporadically, delivering dishes one at a time in a way that turned dinner into a very disjointed experience--my mom ate, then my dad ate, and by the time the next plate arrived, the moment was gone. The bigger issue, though, was the food. Dallas has been such a pleasant surprise--creative, flavorful, and consistently great value, especially compared to California and New York. This was the first place that completely broke that streak. $24 for four pieces of sushi (yes, $6 per piece), and somehow still not good. That's steep anywhere--but for it to also be underwhelming? Hard to justify. We asked for ginger and soy sauce early on and didn't get it until the check arrived, which pretty much summed up the level of service. The mango ceviche was maybe three bites total. The rest of the meal ranged from forgettable to outright inedible. I didn't even bother taking photos--I originally wasn't planning to write a review at all because it felt so mid. Came in for my birthday month lunch and brought my son along with me. I hadn't been to Ra Sushi in a while, but I knew they had a great HH menu, so the timing of a late lunch worked out nicely. Ra Sushi is known for sending out $50 in birthday spending money at their restaurant and sister locations. When I came in, there was only a bartender working the bar and the bar table tops, so we opted for there. There weren't a ton of people in the bar area, but you could tell the server was swamped, as it took her quite a while to get to us. I didn't see anyone around that could really help her either, so we waited patiently while she served up her guests. As she made her way over to us, I informed her about the birthday email and she said just let me know at the end of the meal and she'd take care of it. We ordered some waters, and then selected a few menu items, some sushi, sashimi, steak fried rice, and another order of sushi. Me and my son shared everything. The food came out as it was made, which I appreciated, we were starving, and it was nice to pace out how the food was being served. As we began to wrap up, I asked for the bill. She asked for a code from the email I received so that she could deduct the $50, but the website chose to not work this day. She said they'd been having a lot of issues with it, and that she would ask her manager to handle it. After a little while of waiting, the manager chose not to honor it, and said oh well. The server profusely apologized, but it was quite irritating to say the least, that you all have been having these issues, and refuse to honor something that your company sends out. And will email out reminders if you haven't used it yet. The manager showed not a care in the world, and was more of this is a you problem and not an us problem. Left a bad taste in my mouth, on top of the fact, that the manager was no where in sight to help the server who was in the weeds for the entirety of our trip. We enjoyed our time at RA sushi. I ordered the sure and tied from the Valerie menu and the lobster was amazing. I recommend ordering extra sauces to enhance the flavor of the steak and rice. The soup was shockingly salty, the waiter said that is the norm. The "Sweet" cocktail was tasty. Our waiter Tyler was pleasant with a tongue in cheek sense of humor. I've visited this location a few times now. We always have decent service. Sometimes the service is service is great and a couple times it's been a little slow but the service has never been bad here. We love the specials on appetizers during happy hour because it allows you to get a little bit of everything. We love the ra ra shrimp and their fried rice is delicious! I've tried the sushi and other dishes here and there. Nothing we've tasted has been bad but we definitely have things we prefer more to others. We each got two drinks, some appetizers and waters, all from the happy hour menu. The drinks and food came out fast and was delicious. Drinks were freshly made and brought out before the ice could melt and the food was fresh as well. The regular menu prices are typical of the area so I'd probably stick to only coming in on happy hour, but the bill for two people for appetizers and two drinks and a small bottle of sake was about $60 before tip. The restaurant is dimly light and it seemed peaceful however they did have this giant fan like item blowing up towards the kitchen. Right when I ordered the reservation to being seated it was great! I usually just frequent Dallas and though this is not too far ( Addison) I think this might just be a definite rotation for friends and family! I got the mango ceviche app and the poke bowl with half salad and half rice. It was so fab and I felt like I was eating so healthy it was great!! I indulged in an apple hot sake carafe , and it tasted just like an apple jolly rancher! It was fun. Left feeling buzzed and full, honestly what more do you want from a place. We went for our first time last night. The atmosphere was great however, the food and service were not. The salmon saki sashimi did not have any flavor and even felt it may of had freezer burn. We ask the sushi chef for low sodium soy sauce and we're promptly told that was it was servers responsibility. The server seemed to nowhere in sight during most of the time we were eating. It might not be his fault they may be just understaffed. Once we finished and wanted the check we had to wait quite some time before the server came back around. I went to RA Sushi for a late-night birthday dinner with my brother. I've always been curious about this chain since I see it everywhere and liked that it stays open late. I also thought it was really cool how it's related to Benihana's as well! Unfortunately, the experience left me sick and disappointed. The drinks, entrees, and ambiance were fine, but it was way too expensive for the low quality of sushi and the service performance. Food: - Emperor's Margarita (traditional): it was good. However, even though I ordered it during happy hour (before 11:00 PM), I was charged full price because we left around 11:30 PM. I understand the timing, but it still felt a bit off. - Lychee Martini: it was fine, nothing special and pulpy, which I liked. - Adults Only Roll: it was visually cool with the fire presentation, but the alcohol used for the fire made it bitter and unpleasant, I felt a little off after consuming it. - Viva Las Vegas Roll: it wasn't that great, it didn't taste fresh. I feel like the sushi wasn't fresh nor worth it. - Spicy Chili Garlic "Ra"men: it was good. - Filet Mignon Hibachi: The filet was a bit dry, and the fried rice surprisingly had chicken in it. I had to ask for the two sauces that are usually standard at hibachi places, but they were bland and watery, which was shocking because every sushi/hibachi place I've been to, they're always very powerful and flavorful. Service: The service was subpar. Our waiter lacked awareness and was not very professional. He sat us at a small 2 top table which makes sense, but we ordered a lot of food (2 rolls, a ramen bowl, hibachi, and 2 drinks). Due to the amount of food ordered, the small table made it difficult to manage. Even after leaving items at the edge of the table for pre-bussing, it took a long time for anything to be cleared. Even after dropping off more food, the finished plates/glasses were moved around to fit the additional dishes and nothing was still taken off of the table which made it super cramped. For a $125 bill, I expected better service, though I still tipped well out of understanding because I understand the importance of tipping as I am also in the restaurant industry. Ambiance: The ambiance was dark and moody, which was cool and suited the area. I liked the vibe, but it wasn't enough to make up for the rest of the experience. Overall: I wouldn't return, and I regret trying this place for my birthday. After eating the Adults Only Roll, I felt nauseous and ended up throwing up everything. I'm certain it wasn't because of alcohol since I usually handle my drinks well. Money isn't an issue when it comes to food, but it was very expensive for what the food was and this opinion is heavily influenced from the service that was given. I particularly love the mochi, our last experience was my first time having mochi ever and now I crave it! We always get really good service, very personable, very nice, and accommodating. We typically don't like to complain about food, but the appetizers we've had haven't been the best, so we have just been sticking to sushi and desserts!
