    My new yoga body
    Danny V.

For many years, I use to HATE going to yoga. I would think it was too slow and boring. Then one day, after becoming sober (from alcohol) for 3 months, I decided to start doing things "I HATE doing"; doing the hard things in order to grow my will power and create self success. I first joined the 2 weeks for $35 deal and went everyday taking "Ra Vinyasa Level 1" and "Ra Vinyasa Intro to Level 2". I started to learn the basics and gained confidence. I then took advantage of the $25 for the first month deal. I just finished taking my 30 straight day of yoga and feel stronger, pliable and mobile than when I first joined. Now, daily yoga is NON-NEGOTIABLE. I NEED it in my life to continue to become a better person. I love who I see in the mirror because of this practice. If I can do it, you can do it too! Hope to see you in the studio...STAY HARD...Namaste ‍ Special thanks to my teachers.: Tanesha, Liz, Huma, Kim, Laurie, Lola and Veesta Special recognition to the staff: So friendly and personable. I enjoy walking into the studios with their warm greetings They also gave me this cute fanny pack (on Valentine's Day) for being a member

My friend brought me in as her buddy and I absolutely loved it! I forgot my yoga mat, but was able to rent one for three dollars. The instructor was very friendly, charismatic and professional. The class was extremely fun yet challenging everybody was working at their own pace. The synergy felt amazing. I'm definitely coming back. Highly recommend this place.

This review is LONNNNGGG overdue! Back in 2017 I moved to OC from the East coast and was struggling to find a yoga home. I stumbled across RA because they were offering a week free for any new students which I soooo appreciated because I couldn't afford yoga at the time. When I arrived to the Costa Mesa location and stepped through the doors I instantly knew it was going to be my home away from home. The person working the front desk was so kind and the studio was beautiful. There are elements of trees everywhere throughout the studio and the bathrooms have affirmations written all around them which are so nice to read. My first time practicing here was with Joey. His flow was challenging and a lot of fun. The heat was booming and his music was a vibe. After class he gave me the biggest high five and thanked me for coming. I'd been going to a couple of other studios in the area and nowhere else had I'd felt so seen and appreciated. After this first class... I was hooked. I would go on to take hundreds of classes by amazing instructors across all of the RA Yoga studios (Costa Mesa, Newport, Irvine and Long Beach). Every single thing about this place I love. The instructors, the variety of class styles, the authenticity of each instructor, the community and the love that flows through this place. RA is such a safe space to start or continue your yoga practice. Whether you want a more mellow class or a challenging kick ass class or something in between, you can find it here!! They also offer free community classes, Groupon deals, Classpass, and specials all year round. Now that I'm writing this review in 2022 and have moved back to the East coast... I really wish I could take a class lol. RA Yoga needs a home out here... NY *wink wink* lol.

The class sizes are small, which allows a more intimate setting, and it allows instructors to help guide you with proper form. All of the instructors are great, but I recommend Imani. She has an extensive background in dance, yoga, Pilates, fitness and overall body movement. She had a sweet, graceful demeanor and engaged in every person. She especially helped me correct my form with each exercise, and is an awesome teacher! Her class emphasizes core and strengthening/stretching the hips, lower back, shoulders, groin and abs. The staff are all so friendly and Pilates is a good tool to enhance your fitness goals, gain strength and gain a super strong core. Pilates on Purpose offers a complimentary price for your first class! Not only do I recommend, but I will attend again!

Before class started, she went around to each person asking how they were, seeing what modifications they needed, and explained the reformer and class thoroughly. During the class, she communicated very detailed and was really helpful in demonstrating the different sets and techniques. After class, she went around to every person asking how the class was for them. I really appreciated how present and engaged she was with everyone! The studio was clean, cozy, and well equipped. It had a lot of reformers with towers and had all the tools needed for the workout. I did the a** and abs workout and it was great. It definitely pushed me and I just know i'm going to feel sore tomorrow! Extras- Parking is great! Right outside the studio. They are soooo welcoming as you come in! There's a shelf to put your belongings, a water station, and a bathroom. Thank you again! See you again soon :)

Secondly, the instructor came up to us and asked us about any modifications needed. I thought that was nice because believe it or not, not a lot of instructors take this initiative to go up to students. Sophia was really kind and helped us with our posture and form throughout the class. The machines were clean and easy to use. This was my first time using the tower and I enjoyed it! Her class flow was so good and I felt like I got a very balanced workout because we worked on everything. The beginner class is still challenging for me so it's gonna be a while before I move up a level haha. Music: it was kind of like EDM? I really liked it. And yes they have a bathroom! Surprisingly not all studios have one. I can't wait to come back again!

Unfortunately, we had a very unpleasant interaction with an instructor named Anika after class today. My husband came with me as my guest. The app wouldn't allow me to check him in because it said he hadn't signed a waiver. However, we took a class together last Saturday and this wasn't required then, so the process was confusing. This was only his second time attending as my guest. After class, we were asking the instructor we took our class with and the instructor for the next class, Anika, on how to go about the process of signing the waiver and checking in. Anika's tone was very rude and condescending. Eventually we ended up in the corner area with the instructor from the class we had just taken, who was kindly helping my husband create an account and sign the waiver. While this was happening, Anika approached us and told us that we needed to leave because her class was starting. At the same time, she also insisted that my husband had to sign the waiver before we could leave. This was confusing because her class hadn't even started yet--the clients were still arriving--and we were already in the process of completing what she said needed to be done. The issue wasn't the policy itself, but the way it was communicated. Her tone was rude and condescending toward my husband and our friends who were with us. My husband and two friends, who have also been taking classes here with me for years, were all surprised by how we were spoken to. We've never experienced this type of interaction with any other instructor at the studio. We truly enjoy this studio and the Lagree classes, which is why this interaction stood out so much. I just hope future situations like this can be handled with clearer communication and a more courteous approach.

Some of the instructors were very friendly and welcoming, but others came across as uninterested and not very approachable. One thing that stood out to me was the lack of posture correction or guidance during class. Even when it seemed like people were struggling, there wasn't much hands-on help from the trainers. In a Pilates class, proper form is really important, so that was disappointing. I really wanted to love this place because the studio itself is nice, but overall the experience didn't meet my expectations.
