Made a reservation for 7:30pm tonight. Stood in the front with my party, the owner of the restaurant (or at least the lady on the front of the newspapers when you walk in) completely ignored us. After about 10 minutes we said we would leave if no one seats us in 5 minutes. Needless to say, after 15 minutes of standing in the front of the restaurant, we left. What's the point of making a reservation? At least tell us you don't want to serve us so we can leave. read more

It was definitely a pleasure having dinner in this great establishment. The host was very warm and inviting. I was very happy to find that they had private parking. We we're seated right away and our server Ash was very helpful with the Specials and explaining the choices being offered. We ordered 2 appetizers that were delicious. The Andhra Chili Chicken and Keema Samosa. Entrees we chose the Chicken Tikka Masala and Goat Biryani, all the dishes were very good. Dessert we had the Chocolate Souffle and Kulfi Falooda. I was simply amazed with all the unique flavors each dish possessed. I will definitely be coming back to try some of the options that I simply couldn't have this time around. I was very pleased. Wow, what a great find! We stopped in last night and it was great, although empty. The decor is lovely, no kitsch, just a clean, elegant space. Service was fantastic, We skipped appetizers because we weren't overly hungry, but our entrees were great. I had chicken chutneywala, chicken in a delicious sauce with mango. It was creamy, deliciously spiced, and very unique. My date had a different chicken dish, Andhra Mirapakai Kodi, a pleasantly warm dish with coconut, curry leaves and red chilis. He had a Kingfisher to go with it and was happy. We ordered puri to go with it, and it was large and fresh. The menu has a lot of vegan and vegetarian dishes on it, as well as traditional chicken, fish and lamb offerings. Mint and bright as I walked through the door were the two words on my mind. The owner is really pleasant and has been very creative with the menu. Familiar Indian dishes taste even better than I remember any place else. My wife and I have returned here already and our second visit on a date without the kids was equally sumptuous. After a long break we returned here with the whole family and somehow the food has improved yet again. T'was already one of my favorites but now it has soared to a higher level in ranking. I like the new buffet special too. The salmon dish is memorable for just $14 with a lot of other choices to go with it and of course the garlic naan to die for. To top it off the mango dessert, wow! My husband and I visited RaaSa last night for dinner and it was wonderful. The atmosphere is casual classy, and very clean. They played traditional Indian music that was very pleasant and made for a great experience. I had the chicken tikka masala, and my husband had curry. We also had a garlic naan and rosemary naan. Both dishes were a little spicy (which is exactly how we like them), but not so hot as to make us have Antacids for dessert. The food tasted extremely fresh and had amazing flavor. The service was a little slow considering there was only one other table of 2 people while we were there, but it didn't bother us. We enjoyed the food so much and are already planning our next visit! We started with several veggie appetizers and then had like seven or eight diferent main coursees. We did not try any desserts. Found this place when looking for an Indian lunch buffet in the Valhalla area. I am so glad that I found this place as they have a great number of dishes on the buffet, both vegetarian and with meat. There is plenty of food for vegetarians and meat eaters (more than 20 on the day we went) and everything was great. I was a regular customer at Raasa (takeouts). I really liked their Hyderabadi Goat Biryani and used to order at least once a month. But I had a really bad experience recently. I made an order for a chilly chicken, chicken chettinadu and Goat biryani. The quantity of food was surprisingly very small. One order chilly chicken had 4 small pieces. Had a wonderful opportunity to work with Priya and her amazing team on my Mother's Birthday party. My husband, mother and I came a month prior to the event to try the food and check out the decor. The minute we stepped inside, I knew that decor-wise Raasa was going to be perfect. We stayed for dinner... which was absolutely amazing! Flavors were perfect and the presentation was beautiful. We decided then and there we would go no where else. Priya, via phone calls and emails (I live far from the restaurant) planned the party for my mother in detail. I literally had no worries! She took care of everything and when I brought up concerns during the day, I found it had already been taken care of. Her chef has attention to detail I really appreciate..every dish that was served was thought out in detail. Even a simple potato pakora had special seasoning on it that turned it from a fried potato to something amazing. Highly recommend the chicken lazeez and tandoori platter. Tandoori cauliflower and salmon are my new favorites. I didn't order this for the party but for when we had a private dinner: Chili Shrimp...wow... Lamb Rogan...meat was extremely tender and flavorful. I am not Vegetarian but the foods I ordered for my guests would have made me content to never eat meat again. Everyone at the party had an amazing time with plenty of food and drink. The servers for the event were always smiling and took care of each person individually. I had about 30 guests for a party and feel like I didn't even lift a finger! My post does not nearly describe how wonderful I feel Raasa is as a restaurant and for their wonderful team. This is one of our favorite dinner date spots. We are vegetarian, and we love the number of menu options that are available to us. The cauliflower appetizer is so good, we order every time. We've tried a variety of entrees and we are never disappointed. The drink menu has great options. And the chocolate soufflé with rose ice cream is a perfect combination. I don't know if they were short of staff inside the kitchen but I was very disappointed with their buffet system. They have almost nothing of food and taking more than 15 minutes to refill the food. One good thing i could say about this place is that it's a small uniquely designed Indian restaurant; moving along...it was my parents 32nd anniversary i wanted them to try something new- this place was extremely loud to many different convos going and you can literally hear each conversation. we waited over an hour for our food, the waiter looks like was trying to cater for others before us. the food was decent and over priced for portion size. i wouldn't go back if i had another chance. mainly service was bad- waited to long for our meals because i think the waiter was more worried of the other guest. no good. read more

My only regret is that I didn't know about this place sooner. A M A Z I N G. Everyone who works here is friendly and interactive and the tables are nicely spread out to give you a private feel. We had chicken tikka skewers as an appetizer that were unbelievably delicious, moist and perfectly spiced. Perfect combination with crisp papadam and coriander chutney. For dinner we had some unbelievable flavorful and perfectly cooked lamb and eggplant dishes whose names were unique and rather difficult to remember at the moment. Don't forget to order a lacha paratha to soak up the sauce! Excellent wine selection as well. We tried the CA Pinot and Riesling and both were excellent.
