This place is really awesome! I've gone in here many times, usually after physical therapy at JAG, located in the same parking lot. (JAG is BEYOND AMAZING - see my review of them as well!) The people at this restaurant are so friendly, welcoming. They don't ever rush u. It is steadily busy but not overcrowded, loud, or annoying. They clearly have loyal regulars at all times of the day, not just people wandering around from the casino, which I am not trying to be rude about, I'm more getting at that it feels like a family business that happens to be near the casino. I will admit that I have only gotten a tuna sandwich on toasted wheat and a coffee, but it might possibly be in my top three of both in the area! I hate tuna sandwiches that are basically a mayo sandwich with a little bit of tuna. Nope - not here! It is a genuinely perfect balance. Wow, never imagined myself being so excited about a tuna salad sandwich, but hopefully that will convince u to try this place! Ok yes, there is plenty of parking. Just be careful about the exit/entrance & traffic on yonkers ave if it's any sort of rush hour. People are NOT cool about letting u turn to get in or out, cause of the way the stupid lights are programmed. I wish they had their own exit in the back. And now I REALLY sound like my grandmother! Well a group of us came here after late services ended at 9. This is your typical diner. Our server Lisa was lovely. All but 1 ordered breakfast and we all agreed the eggs and bacon were no bueno. I'll chalk it up to the lateness of the hour but I have it on good authority that what we received was the norm.The one friend that ordered dinner got the Salmon and said it was delicious, as dis the people he shared some with. By Far the worst food I have ever eaten from a diner. Came for breakfast w my little sister and I was so disappointed. The food is horrible, COLD, nasty, uncooked ham, OLD bacon, snd the toast was soggy, the worst COLD coffee that should have been hot. Asked waiter to heat up coffee twice, staff very unfriendly, the manager was the WORST ever, had an attitude instead of making customer happy. He's unprofessional . This establishment is TRASH. The manager Told me that's how food is served, cold really? Paid $25.00 that hurt my pockets because the food was horrible and didn't even leave a tip, why would I. It was my families go to diner for years but now it is my 2nd favorite. They did not change I just like a different place as they have a lot less parents with kids on the weekends then like here. They are popular and when it is packed it can be a little noisey. Their honey mustard chicken sandwhich is still my favorite so I have to come back every now and then. I had breakfast for the first time today with the kids. I waited an a long time before the food arrived. The kids meals arrived first. I had to wait for longer for two eggs which was my meal. What my grandson ordered never arrived. Their pancakes were cold and hard. My grandson did not eat his food. I had to ask for the check three times, and that never arrived either. I got up and went to the cashier to get the check. I complained about the service, and the food to a man that was a the front. I don't know if he was the owner or manager. All he kept saying was "I'm sorry." Forget doing the right thing and taking something off the check. I left and for the rest of the day I have been sick from the two eggs I ate. This place is nice; it's a regular diner. I wanted the waffle with two scoops of ice cream which was about $7 but the waitress recommended the deluxe waffles that were about $11. I chose that and got one waffle with two scoop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, cherry syrup and 2 cherries. This was missing the walnuts that was listed on the menu and the cherry cannot be replaced with strawberry. The waffle didn't taste great and I can see why the deluxe was recommended, without it the waffle is plain. Usually waffles taste sweet or something but this one was odd, almost eggy in taste. Take this with a gain of salt because cilantro does taste like soap to me. My boyfriend liked his chocolate chip pancakes and the side of fries were great. I walked into this diner because I was basically starving & if I would've imagined how horrible I would be treated by the owner, I would've preferred to starve. After I was seated by a hostess the owner rudely came over & made me move to the corner of the restaurant almost next to the bathroom because apparently my small stroller was in the way in the empty restaurant. Then I ordered French toast with bacon & the French toast was almost as nasty as the owner's attitude. The French toast was soggy, flavorless & nearly raw in the center. Went here with a couple of friends and got typical diner food - burgers and sandwiches. I have no complaints about the food - except that the fry portion was a little small, but my sandwich was overloaded with pastrami, so it evened out. Service was attentive without being annoying and the restaurant itself was clean. Parking lot was a little tight but there was plenty of parking. We'll have to come back and try out the breakfast. read more

This is my "go to" when I'm at Empire City and need a meal break. I was here a couple of days ago and got one of their lunch specials. I had a chicken sandwich/fries and a drink (included). Hello my name is Marco Polo. My small group of old dinosaurs came to your restaurant for the first time last Saturday 6/22/24 . Our regular restaurant the Broadway diner closes too early for us so we were looking and found your place that stays open much later. what a beautiful place you have. That particular day it was like 95° and humid but as soon as we entered your restaurant the temperature was perfect. not too cold but coolly enough .next thing I wanted to complement our waitress by the name of Linda was excellent. My Belgium waffle was good but not as tasty as the Broadway diner. My other friends seemed to enjoy their food. I'm a big french fry guy particularly steak fries which no restaurants offer anymore but my friend offered me a couple of her fries and they were excellent perfectly crunchy. As you can see I'm very into details. When I went to use their bathroom it was good to see the hot water was hot and the cold water was cold but I didn't see any paper towels.. The electric hand warmer was very weak. Maybe next time they'll keep a role of paper towels in the men's room. Before I went into the bathroom I asked one of the waiters if she had some paper towels she said no only napkins. But like I said overall very nice building and all the workers who took care of us were excellent and very professional. Also wanted to mention, as I'm a big decaf tea drinker and the decaf tea wasn't a name brand but one I never heard of, I believe it was called American, but it was very good. It's getting very hard to get a good tasting decaf tea but theirs was good They also had old-fashioned real sugar Domino packets. The simple things in life are getting harder to find so it's good to see that this diner tries to cover every detail beautifully. read more

First time to Raceway diner tonight, most people have told me that it's a wonderful diner with amazing food and good service and so I decided to give it a try. We got in, 4 staff members looking at us and looking at each other hoping that the other would sit us down. Finally the guy at the register got off his phone and showed us a table. The place is dirty, like, very dirty. The jukebox on our booth was covered in dirt.. Grease, dust, all mixed up in one pile of slob. Disgusting. The place smelled bad. Now, while taking in consideration that this is a 24 hour diner I don't expect things to be new.. but at least clean. First step into a good impression. The food was actually pretty good, the fries were great. Coffee was ok. My friend's food wasn't that great, bacon was so soft it almost had a pulse. Service was not great. Server came right away to take our order and that was the last we saw of him. There were about 4 waiters and 2 bussers, all of them doing absolutely nothing, half were on their phones, half reading the newspaper. Some sitting at the counter as well. We purchased some dessert on the way out that were very good. The highlight of this whole night and writing this review is because of my amazing waitress. I'm here from Florida for a couple of weeks and I stopped at this place for dinner. The food was good but the service was impeccable to say the least. In my lifetime I have been to so many restaurants worldwide and and "never" had a waitress as charming, delightful and such a warm individual as Skye. I'm usually a very quiet, low key hard working man and just order what I want, eat and move on! However, Skye, my waitress brought out in me such warmth and comfort and I even shared photos of my family with her which I would rarely, rarely do with a stranger and she told me about her son and husband proudly. She made me lose my homesickness in a heartbeat and stole my heart. She greeted me with a smile from the first moment and it never stopped till I left. The food could have been horrible but because of her charm and warmth I would have enjoyed every morsel. You owners could not have hired anyone better than Skye. A true joy! I was in the area for business and since it was lunchtime I looked for a place to eat. I saw what looked like a typical run-down diner whose best days were in the past, but since parking was easy and this was not going to be a complicated meal I went in. As a first impression, while the interior (and exterior) could certainly use an update, everything was clean. Just as important, the waitstaff didn't look like they hated to be there. They were pleasant and smiling and gave me my choice of where I would prefer to sit. I ordered a well-done western omelet with home fries and I have to say the dish was outstanding. The omelet was large and loaded with onions, green peppers, and ham. Most importantly both it and the home fries were cooked just as I had requested. My waitress was there to refill my glass and made sure everything was good with the meal. When I went to the rest room there was an employee inside wiping down the room. As far as I am concerned, the Raceway Diner is head and shoulders above some of the more modern diners I have been to. Good job guys! read more

This is my 3rd time coming here and I have not had a bad experience yet. The greeter for the night (I believe he's the owner or a really attentive manager)is always so pleasant & he checks in periodically with each table to ensure everything is going well. Our waiter was Marie, her first night and she was really sweet and attentive. My friend and I wanted a late night meal so we came to Raceway diner. The menu is quite diverse and they can make any additions you like. I had a souvlaki gyro & fries ($9.75), my friend had the breaded chicken with mushroom sauce ($15) & Nachos ($8.70). The breaded chicken entree did not come with a side but you get 2 big pieces of chicken with the sauce. The actual mushrooms are part of the sauce,it's not just for taste or out of a can. He liked it and felt full, typical food disposal guy-eat to sustain themselves lol. I found my souvlaki flavorful,the meat was not over done. I was brought the tsaziki (probably spelt wrong)sauce on the side to add as I see fit, which I loved. My only gripe was there were wayyyy too much diced onions,it felt like 2 maybe 3 handfuls of onions. Other than that I enjoyed my meal, it hit the spot. I tried the nachos which reminded me of movie theatre nachos-same cheese sauce,jalapeño,salsa,tomato,sour cream. If you want guacamole it's about .75 more to add to the side. The place is wheelchair accessible, multiple areas to sit-good for 1person to a group of possibly 10+.They have dessert,which I have yet to try. This is one of Yonkers best local diners. It's my go to place for a quick breakfast. They have the best coffee in town! Always friendly, respectful and courteous. On my previous visit I had a small issue with the fruit I was severed. Bought it to the attention of the server. The owner came over apologized removed the cost of the fruit from the bill. That was not my goal, I wanted to bring it to their attention. The owner felt it was the right thing to do. Just the fact the owner recognized the issue and was willing to take the extra step will keep me coming back. read more
