We had 3 overcharges, only 1 of which was fixed when we inquired: -Prime Rib on menu $40, charged $45 (fixed) -Baked Potato included with Prime Rib, charged $2 (not fixed) -Mysteriously the bill jumped by another $3. Was told this is what the credit card company charges, yet this was not on the receipt or the menu (not fixed) Don't be a coward like me and agree to a bill that is incorrect. Honest mistakes happen, but when 3 mistakes happen in their favor and they don't fix 66% of them to the tune of almost an extra 10%, that's not a good sign. We won't be coming back. read more

A much needed addition to Ramona! This place is amazing! Exactly the type of place this small town needed! It's clean and modern with a small town feel. I have owned a small business in Ramona for 17 years and the dine in options are slim. I get the burgers there for lunch and they do not disappoint you could tell the parties are made in house and the brioche buns taste like they were just baked! But my absolute fav is the pork chop with mashed potato's, the glaze is amazing and the chop is cooked just right. The service is amazing and everyone is very friendly. I got the pleasure of having Rachel actually serve us one day and you would not have known she was the owner what a friendly, kind and genuine person. We also had our employee Christmas party here they had three people serving us the whole time and everything was cooked to perfection especially their delicious wings. I go there at least once a week and I can never wait to go back. read more

A disappointment. Service was not warm or inviting. There are arcade games inexplicably right there in the small dining room. And of course, 3 big TVs, one showing a basketball game. Aside from a few booths, the chairs throughout are those cheap, hard metal chairs that just make you want to leave. Likewise, the loud modern country radio music is what you expect in Ramona, but doesn't exactly make for a relaxing meal. The appetizer was undercooked. The entree was lukewarm, bland and underseasoned. The bread rolls were ridiculously chewy. The salad, at least made with fresh ingredients, was served with a plastic cup of dressing instead of being properly dressed in the kitchen. The texture of the dessert was off. You want a new restaurant to succeed, but I can't find a reason to return, particularly given how expensive it is. As the bright neon sign on the wall in the dining room reads, "Life is too short to eat bad food." This is the first time we have tried Rachel's for dinner. We ordered the Chicken Parm and the Maple Bourbon Pork Chop. There were only a couple of tables filled in the restaurant but our food took about 30 minutes to be served. The chicken on the Chicken Parm was good. Didn't understand the big slice of burnt cheese under it though. The pasta sauce was unremarkable. The pork chop was over cooked and the vegetables were buried in the (cold) mashed potatoes under the pork chop. We don't like wasting food but we didn't even bother bringing the leftovers home. While they do have heated outside seating we noticed that they allowed a couple seated near us to bring two large dogs into the restaurant. Our server was very friendly and answered all of our questions. We did notice on the bottom of the menu in very small print that they charge more if you pay by card. We won't be returning anytime soon. read more

This is a new restaurant in Ramona. MaKaylee was our server. She was WONDERFUL, friendly, and knowledgeable. She offered us guidance and made some recommendations. She recommended the prime rib sandwich which two (2) of us ordered. I'm glad I did! The sandwich was yummy! She also recommended the fruit tart for dessert. I go here often for take out, mostly just salads. Their usually pretty good. But today was not it. Idk, i got there around 5:30 parking lot empty. I waited 30 min for my salad (I get it, chicken needs to cook). But I get home, crack her open and the dressing is not the ceaser salad dressing, the chicken is thin, burnt and dry. I was a little disappointed by our first time coming . We loved the first time it opened at the first location it was a high fave for us . Our group ordered two Paloma margaritas , the Brussel sprout appetizer , salmon risotto , mushroom stroganoff . It took a while for the drinks to come out and when they did omg a few sips made you feel intoxicated we asked our waitress if we could send them back and just stick to our waters . It wasn't the a grape fruit Paloma what it said on the menu it was just soda Paloma's and lime juice . Then the food came out the Brussel sprouts 10/10 ! The chicken pot pie was more of a chicken soup with a puff crust on top . The salmon risotto was good but it didn't really seem well with both taste wise either one or the other and the peas were just a little too under cooked . After we ORDERED, 4 more parties showed up after us. All of them were white and all of them got their food before us. Worse experience ever. Drove from Los Angeles to be treated like this. As my server sets the plate down, a distinguished looking lady passes my table and emphatically says, "0h how pretty". Well that's the sort of thing that happens here. Not only is the food outrageous but the presentation, composition and execution is amazing. 1. Food Ordered the Burbon bacon burger medium. Burger came and was more well done, ate half the burger before realizing that they forgot the bacon (saw another delivered w/bacon). Server said "oh I will get you some bacon." Brought 2 pieces of bacon. 2. Ambiance They had two children running around the restaurant playing a pinball game for about 1/2 hour, all you could hear were the bumpers echoing through the restaurant. 3. Just ate here today. I rarely write a review but this place was soooooo delicious I just had to. I went inside only to use the bathroom and couldn't help but smell the amazing food. Disappointing. I came here for Mother's Day for a special dinner with their special menu. It was my husband and I and our 2 young children. We were sat at a table. 2 groups of people came in after us. Both of which got their drinks, order taken, and bread brought to their table. The table next to us had their dishes cleared and their check brought out. We waited at least 15 min and no one came to our table to greet us at all and many servers walked by us many times and were also at the tables right next to us. I had delicious fish and chips. There were two fillets, lightly coated served with yummy fries.

Went there for the first time, wanted Fish and chips, it wasn't on the dinner menu but the waitress said they could make it up. It came as the coating was slightly burnt ( like old grease ) and the fish was like a press bunch of small pieces not like a cod style. The service was not the best, we found out our waitress and left with a stomach problem and the replacement took for ever to come out and continue, never got any water and a refill of soda when we asked and our guess never got a extra bowl to put some of her salad in. Also when I got home and looked at the receipt I was charged a extra 4 % for using a C/C wasn't happy about that. They should tell you so you can adjust the tip. read more

Food is amazing and the customer service went really good as well. Atmosphere is really enjoying and a huge shout out to the chef which doesn't really get much recognition. Chef Mike is a phenomenal and has carry this restaurant a long way so far and definitely has a lot of knowledge in the kitchen. I've experienced his leadership role in the kitchen and his workers have full trust in him and he has full trust in his workers, I mean without good workers then there will never be a good chef. My girlfriend and I went during off hours so it wasn't packed, but the service was very friendly and I could see this place having an excellent vibe when busy. The alcohol was actually reasonably priced which is rare to find nowadays (with wine from Ramona wineries and some fun cocktails). And good desserts! Lots of gluten-free options as well, just ask if they have substitutions for bread on sandwiches/burgers. read more

I can't speak to other people's reviews but I can say I always check YELP reviews before I try a place place out. We walked in to Rachel's today around 2pm. It was empty. Not a busy time for any restaurant. The place was spotless! Idk what kind of decor theme she was going for but it was black and white and clean! So a win in my book. I had the coffee flight, AMAZING! So good! My husband got the Bourbon burger with sweet potato fries and I got buffalo wings. The ranch dressing was homemade. Everything was hot, good, and taste fresh! The only complaint was the fries needed some more salt but my husband says I'm a salt fiend. The service was quick and the server was a teen and really sweet. We even met THEE Rachel at the end. She was really nice, kinda shy, but very personable. We will be back for the dinner menu and to try dessert! read more
