(Embarrassingly, I asked him if we could move the template we transferred onto my skin 5 times for one tattoo, having to wipe it away and reapply it. It would have driven basically anyone crazy, but Seth was laid-back and understanding throughout.) The price was also very reasonable. As others have mentioned the private studio was clean and seemed well organized. Honestly, vibe at the studio is not something I care about (I just want a great looking, safe tattoo), but it did have a nice feel. In my case, I wanted something very specific (and relatively simple), rather than something creative from the artist. I got exactly what I wanted, and it looks perfect. Since this was my first, Seth also explained every step of the process to me as we went. In terms of safety, I saw all his new, packaged needles. (One thing I didn't verify was how he sterilized any reusable parts. ...something you could do yourself if you're inclined.) I'll definitely return to Seth for any future tattoos.

After searching around, I came across Konkrete Jungle and specifically Alex as a professional piercer. I booked an appointment over the phone with clear instructions. During the appointment, my daughter and I arrived at the shop and were greeted by Alex at the front desk. She was professional and courteous, walking my daughter through the entire process from start to finish. She explained the options she had for initial earrings and why the stainless steel screw-on type were ideal for new piercings. Alex walked my daughter into her studio and talked her through each piercing patiently, answering any questions my curious daughter had. Because Alex uses needles rather than a piercing gun, it was different than what my daughter was accustomed to during her first piercing. In the end, there were absolutely no tears, unlike the painful experience at the chain jewelry store. Alex provided after-care instructions for the piercing and made sure she addressed all questions and concerns we had at the time. Upgraded threadless jewelry, depending on the piercing starts about $10 more than what's listed on the site. Any additional jewelry upgrades range from $30-$70. They show you all of your options and then it takes a few minutes while they prepare. Elena did my piercing and she was great! She made me feel very comfortable and gave lots of information for after care of my piercing including her card and the correct supplies to buy. The shop was clean and nicely decorated!
