We loved Radish & Rye. Visited Santa Fe on a girls trip and had a nice dinner here. We didn't realize it was a Whiskey bar, which turned about being great! The appetizers were phenomenal, we ended up ordering a second round of Brussels sprouts! The entrees were big enough to spilt between two people, and the dessert churros with the dipping sauces were great! The ambiance was cool and quiet, and the staff were great, our waitress was amazing. We'd def go back if ever in the area again! read more

The menu was not over thought -- creative but building on strong basics. The waitress was knowledgeable and took pleasure orienting and explaining. Never seemed hurried. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here for date night, and our waitress was very nice and helpful. We ordered the dolmas to start, the chicken fried chicken, and the ribeye. The dolmas came out pretty quickly. I thought they were interestingly good, but the were definitely odd. I didn't take a picture but the plate only comes with two "dolmas". The rice inside them was an odd texture but the corn salsa was yummy. We also ordered a half bottle of wine which went well with everything. Our waitress kept our water and wine glasses full the entire time. Our entrees were delicious! The steak is probably one of the biggest I've ever seen. This place is exceptional! The service is amazing and the restaurant has a great ambiance. There is a small bar with a good whiskey selection. They have most all whiskies by Whistle Pig, which I am a fan of. I shared fried oysters and fried green tomatoes for an appetizer. The fried green tomatoes, which were served with a pimiento cheese, was the star of the meal. Everything was great, but I could have eaten that all night. My main course was the trout, which was good. Everything I saw come out of the kitchen to other tables looked great. Wow! We are foodies and this place ranks in my top three. Up there with Gordon Ramsay and Thomas Keller. I had pan fried trout that was light as a feather and so delicious. My sweetie had the pork chop that was done to perfection, moist and tender. Don't even get me started on the Kentucky Butter Cake. It's like heaven on a plate. I followed it with a delicious aperitif Biagellet china china recommended by our server Thomas. It wasn't on the menu but he said it was a favorite and boy was he right. Speaking of Thomas-- you know when you get a server at a restaurant and you feel like you're old friends? Yep that was Thomas. Not only did he know his stuff and recommend how to order our meal but he was funny and attentive. And spot on with his recommendations. All in all a great meal at an amazing restaurant. I waffled between the Ribeye and the Pork Chop, Babs recommended the pork chop so I went with her choice and she was spot on it was both juicy and well flavored! If whiskey is your thing they have an array of whiskey options to choose from as well as a full wine and cocktail list. For appetizers we had the roasted beets and take it from someone that doesn't like beets these went down very smoothly they had plenty of flavor and were roasted to perfection. My wife had the Blackened Snapper which was very flakey (in a good way) and also had plenty of flavor to tantalize the taste buds. We shared the pecan desert which hit the spot with a great finishing touch. The ambiance was great and very formal. Tandid (probably botched the spelling of his name) . I must add him to the review we spoke to him a few times on the phone regarding reservations and he ultimately greeted and sat us upon our arrival very professional. We arrived and were instantly greeted! We were celebrating our anniversary and I think I heard "happy anniversary" at least 5 times this night. Much appreciated! Ambiance is very intimate, cozy, a bit dark but lights are well placed. Food was a hit- we both had lamb and it was hands down the best lamb I had in my life. We also had duck fat potatoes as an extra side dish and it was good! I live here in SF. I've been to This place a few times and it's pricey. Aesthetically it is gorgeous inside. I love the lighting which others call romantic because it's well thought out ambient lighting which I appreciate. Service is high-end. Attentive and professional. On my recent mid-week visit my food was pretty to look at but not great. The fish was too salty and a bit tough, which I think means overcooked. The starter, fried green tomatoes were the best I've ever had. Wonderful! However being told by the server " the chef prefers to bring out the starter at the same time as the entree" did not portend well for the dining experience as a whole. Nevertheless a great appetizer even if I wasn't "allowed" to eat it when I wanted to. Actually this entire dictatorial theme started before I was seated in the dining room, so allow me to tell you a fable. A man walks into a bar (restaurant). It's full except for 3 seats in the middle. On the left are two young women animatedly talking.On the right is a young couple affectionally turned to one another. There are three stools... where does the single, senior man sit? Logically and socially he sits in the middle to leave space on the left and the right. Am I wrong? So, in the fable the gentleman sits in the middle, orders a fairly pricey whiskey neat. For a few minutes he enjoys the pleasure of the moment, happy in repose. Then suddenly, the bartenders can be seen conversing privately, their backs to the customers at the bar. Then a moment later the young, kind bartender approaches the patron and says, " the manager would like you to move down, to save two seats for other (potential) customers." The patron considers the odd request, seeing as it's a mid-week day at around 6pm and no one is waiting. The patron says, " well that's weird, but I tell you what, how about I just move to a table." The patron's instinctual yet silent calculation is, why would I crowd the two young woman to left, that seems awkward and unwelcome. Conversely, why would I sit next to the couple to the right being intimate? Hence I offer to move to a table before he actually wants to. End of fable. I should add that the green tomatoes starter included a round hunk of cheese under each tomato. When tasted it had no flavor whatsoever as it was ice cold. When this was pointed out to the very nice server, he had a scripted response, to wit, " That's the way it's served." When I rhetorically asked the server to " name a cheese that is best served cold" he could only agree with the absurdness with a facial expression. I moved to a table but never stop feeling insulted by the request to cozy up to other people who likely would prefer their privacy. The service is excellent, the food pretty good in balance, but the experience unpleasant based on a manager making a ridiculous request all things considered. This patron, as a resident of Santa Fe, will never be back. read more

First off, they let us come in while they were a little bit busy without any reservations. We happen to be next-door at urban Santa Fe which by the way is pretty cool and you should stop by there. The staff at this restaurant was extremely friendly and for our anniversary they gave us a free champagne toast. The food was excellent and definitely caught us off guard. We have never had quail and this was one of the best dishes I've had. The ribs that they have here are second to none! These are probably the best ribs I've ever had in my life. I'm being serious about this. They are definitely an old-school bar with a lot of whiskeys and Bourbons. I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a nice getaway and some really good food. The atmosphere was really nice and quiet. From farm to table, this restaurant provided a delicious presentation of vegetarian (but also meat) dishes. The entry and table assignment were at best a bit chaotic but ultimately worked out. Menu via square code. We chose a bunch of appetizers in tapas style + one main course ... and could not resist to go for the desserts as well. Farm greens, roasted beets, fried shrimp, fried green tomato, and a stellar vegetarian plate. I called in advance, and found out that this is NOT a place to leave to chance, and that they were booked well in advance, but that we were welcome to come by and try for seat(s) at the bar. In short order, as we stepped into Radish & Rye, we were greeted so cordially by our hostess, who welcomed us gladly. We confessed that we didn't have a reservation and she shared with us that because we had come early enough, and that she had an unfilled cancellation we were welcomed us right in. Turns out, we learned later, that she was, in fact, one of the owners, Camille, working "down in the trenches", ... good form! We got a nice table near, not at, the bar. It was nice, a window table. Our waiter, Santa Fe native-born, was a deft guide through the menu for us. He was a true cheerleader for Radish and Rye and it seemed genuine that he was enthusiastic for each of our choices, but assured us that he would "warrantee" their goodness. We were doing a "dry" July, so we only ordered one glass of Oregon Pinot Noir, for table decorations. Luckily it was dry, ...Somehow it evaporated, ... On to the food, the wonderful, wonderful food... We each started with an order of the Baby Back Ribs. Three succulent Ribs with just the right amount of sauce, set to perfection. They cooked so that the meat had just the right amount of "pull" require to coax it off the bone. Our next course was the Fresh Corn Chowder. The corn base was sweet and creamy, with a vein of Green Chile and Olive Oil throughout. It was crowned with a Beef Marrow Bone, cute "canoe" style, with the marrow ready to be spooned gently into the chowder. Mixed into the chowder the marrow made the perfect even more perfect! Our last appetizer choice, yet another flavor profile and texture, was an order of the Saltine Crusted Shrimp. The Saltine batter made for a light and airy crunch that gave way to a tender shrimp. Our entre' was a generous Rib Eye Steak cooked EX-actly as it was ordered (and should only be ordered as...) Medium Rare. The deep rich redness of the Grass Fed Beef revealed a flavor that can only be described as other-worldly. The desserts streaming by our table looked so enticing.... and we were tempted, of course, by the dessert menu, but you'll have to do your own reconnaissance on them, we had to tap out, so satiated that we swore never to eat again.... till breakfast at Pasquale's, tommorow!) read more

Such a great experience here. There were four of us kind of a late birthday celebration weekend and we wanted to explore a few upscale restaurants. The ambience was great. Easy to have conversations - the service was designed to be good but smooth so it didn't interfere or become more than it needed to be. Allowed us to focus on us and our time together. All the food was excellent - and yes the specialty drinks were great. This was a meaningful part of our visit to Santa Fe. So cleverly named. Farm-to-table food and fancy drinks. I came here for a quick drink an hour before they closed. I had heard that they had some stellar whiskey and just needed to check it out because... I love whiskey. Very modern rustic feel, with the restaurant being on the first floor (Radish) and the bar being on the second floor (Rye). I opted for the upper floor as I was stuffed from dinner. Although the cocktail menu looked decent, I was more interested in the menu that was dedicated solely to whiskey. The first drink I ordered was Angels Envy bourbon, a whiskey aged in port barrels. I chose this one in particular because it reminded me of the "angels share" when referring to aging whiskey. Next I ordered the Crater Lake rye, which is not only one of the oldest small-batch distilleries, but my wife is from there. So I kinda had to. To soak up some of that alcohol I ordered the beer battered cauliflower, which happened to be cooked al dente and even came with a nicely paired caper aioli. Would definitely like to return for dinner one day, as the menu looked experimental and meaty. Who doesn't like duck fat fried tubers?!! read more

This is it, make no mistake about it. Elegant service yet comfortable casual atmosphere. Service was spot on. Cocktails are a must. From Negronis with Bourbon barrelled whiskey and Campari with a lemon peel to a perfect Manhattan to my fav "Doctor Orders" with Rye whiskey, Scotch whiskey, lemon, honey and ginger. These most awesome drinks set us up for a first course of earthy good roasted red beets with blue cheese and spicy piñon nuts with a light vinaigrette salad to a main course of grilled ribeye steak simply the best mouth watering char perfect rare cooked, doesn't get any better with duckfat fingerling potatoes. So this was our favorite meal of our trip to Santa Fe. Maybe it was because we had great conversation with each other about the trip, what our plans are (while we're here, when we get home and for the future) and what to do after dinner. The weather cooperated with us that night. We walked from the hotel since the weather was beautiful but noticed a rain cloud that passed us while at dinner but cleared out when we left for the evening. It was kinda romantic in a way. Anyway, if you're a Bourbon lover, this is a GREAT bar with a divine selection of all the rare, allocated bottles but also have variety of the common bottles as well. It was like being in a candy story and you got to really have whatever you fancied for the night. This was the main attraction as well as having a menu that was simple but well-executed in flavors. Also, the night we went was great for people watching as it just seemed like we were surrounded by the see and be seen people of Santa Fe that evening. Waiters knew people personally by name and some tables were getting extra attention. We started with the pickles, which were super delicious but the portioning just seemed disappointing. Quality over quantity, I get it but the plating wasn't desirable and made us feel like a gyp. But our entrees made up for that. Their pork chop was one of the best we've ever had. It was rich with the perfect amount of fat and you were able to get the perfect bite with the polenta and the mushrooms. Each bite was a reminder of the last. That's a good sign. We also had the seared fish, which was salmon but the flavors were surprising in a good way. The acidity from the blanc sauce and the tomato salad were beautiful. As I mentioned with the tomatoes at the farmer's market, you were able to experience it in this dish. The tomatoes were almost the star of the dish, they were that good and wish I took more advantage of the dishes as it seemed primed being tomato season. I would eat both our entree dishes 10 times over again. The dessert was less to be desired. The pecan pie was NOT a pecan pie, it was a hard dry tart. I guess when you're from Texas, you expect something else, lol. Loved our dinner, the bourbon variety was surprising and welcomed and we left happy and laughing ready to enjoy the rest of our night. For dessert, we tried the hummingbird cake with a side of ice cream. The service was impeccable from start to finish and our meal was perfect. WE couldn't have had a better evening. We made a reservation and were seated promptly. We felt rushed. Our waiter seemed nice enough, but he wanted the entire food order within 10-15 minutes after we were seated. We said we would like to have an order of the ribs appetizer but he forgot about that. I ordered the Porkchop and my wife had the trout. Pork chop was truly massive weighing probably a pound or more including the bone. A good 50% of it was pure fat, 15% was bone. The meat itself was really tasty. The side of polenta was good. I didn't care at all for the pickled cabbage on top. My wife said the trout was good, but the accompanying " corn chili bake" was fiery hot to the point of not being enjoyable or even edible. We somewhat reluctantly ordered Kentucky butter cake for dessert, and found that quite good. Overall, it was rather a mixed but disappointing experience compared to what we had anticipated. It didn't help that the cost was over $100 a person. We were there not much more than 75 minutes to celebrate a birthday. read more

Really delicious food with excellent service! I come to Santa Fe once a year for the opera have generally been impressed with the food scene. But Radish & Rye is truly special. The service is attentive but not overwhelming, and the food is both inventive and simply so delicious! The corn chowder with bone marrow was creamy but not heavy, has just the right amount of kick with the fresh peppers and jalapeños. I had the butcher steak as the entree--perfectly cooked paired with a salad, avocados, and red bell peppers. This place is all about farm to table and it shows in its dishes. If I could give a -100 star review I would. Situation: I am a woman who walked into their bar. I was asked for pay for sex from a man at the bar so I moved chairs. I sat next to another gentleman and then the two of them starting talking about how easy it was to do sex trafficking. I was terrified and walked out....realized I didn't pay my bill and walked back to pay my bill (which I did). I also explained in detail what had happened. I waited 9 months to try them again and I was told I was 86'd. The owner is a careless and neglectful human being who should think about his customers' safety. I did nothing to initiate these conversations so I do not believe I should have been 86'd. Do not bring your mother, your wife or you children here as purely their clientele is questionable and the owner is incompetent. read more

Just go. Just. go. I was able to get a reservation for a Sunday night a few nights before, but it was for 8:45 and they close at 9. They did call to tell me that, even though this reservation was available, I would have to order immediately upon seating. They were able to move my reservation up to a time that had not been showing online. I see someone else had a similar problem, so beware that their system allows reservations up until closing time, basically. The food was immaculate and the drinks superb. I loved the charcuterie board, but that's my usual jam. Corn fritters -yas dahling. I do believe there was sprinkled crack rock on the brussels. Out of this world good, but got very salty feeling toward the end of the bowl. I started the bowl by saying "these are the best brussels I have ever had ever (and I get them very regularly)" but my last bite was having second thoughts. I think they were just super salty. They made my sober husband a nice, home made ginger beer, me a tasty menu cocktail, and for dessert an amaro/coffee cocktail. The price of the specialty cocktail was quite steep, so maybe ask the price before ordering off the menu (I think it was $16-$18). My recommendations would be to put mocktails on the menu for those sober, pregnants and already drunk of us, and add dessert cocktails (especially with coffee). read more

Superb meal with friendly service. We came on a Friday night with reservations and the service was super friendly from the moment we walked in. The tables were all spaced out in safe distance from one another with plenty of space to walk without getting too close to another party. The corn chowder with bone marrow is a must have here. The ribeye steak was perfectly medium rare with a nice char around it, just as we like it. The fish special was red snapper, which was also done really nicely! The broccolini was a really nice addition to our meal. For dessert, I had the pecan pie and this was probably the only thing I would have passed on. The crust was really thick and not flaky at all.
