Parking is very limited I had yo park down the street. There are only 2 elevators for 14 floors with a restaurant on top so you have to wait a while to get on one. Rooms have mold in them and the sleep number beds didn't work. read more

I mean where do I even start, this place looked nice up until we pulled into the parking garage / lot which is complete TRASH it is the literal height of an oompa loompa and someone scraped their truck on the top in front of us, and dont even try to find a parking spot, you will end up parking a block away and walkin. Anyways when we got in there was a bunch of screaming annoying children. We got to the elevator and it was packed and the other one didnt even work! We finally got to our room and it was tiny and our cart didnt even fit through the door, the room is tiny. So like whatever, but hey I gotta plug in my phone because its dying, nope the outlets dont work in the room. Another thing is all night and all day you will hear everything your neighbors do, flush the toilet, take a shower, wash their hands, talk, and the doors are so heavy they slam so damn loudly you will jump. Also the wall paper is bubbling up and pealling off the wall, you can tell they ran out of money renovating this hotel. But hey you could order in some really expensive food from the restaurant upstairs, oh wait the outlet doesn't work, I guess you can't call! This place is way to expensive and not worth it, save your money. read more

Stayed here with my daughter for a mother daughter overnight and thought that the hotel was fine. I work at a hotel and so the things I look for I didn't find such as beds with a fitted sheet, no stains and the bathroom filled with towels and other things that people forget when going away. The view was of a street but off in the distance I could see the harbor. Its close to everything but like everything in Duluth the roads are bad and need to be resurfaced and the parking lot could use an over haul but the staff was awesome and the free Wi-Fi was awesome because most hotels you have to pay for that. read more

We stayed here since it was so close to Bentleyville! It was a super easy, quick walk over to the park. I was not impressed with the condition of the bathroom, or that the toilet took about 20 seconds to flush. The room itself was very nice and updated, although housekeeping never made it to our room on our second day. The pool needs an update, I could feel where the bottom layer is disconnecting from the bottom, it was also SUPER foggy. I probably would not stay here again for the price.. I would stay at another local hotel. read more

We stayed here during Grandma's Marathon weekend. While we paid a hefty price because we didn't book way ahead of time, the service we got was phenomenal! Rhonda, the manager, did an excellent job of making sure that everybody was well taken care of. She remembered her guests names and greeted them each time they walked by the lobby. When we arrived early, our room was not ready, but they quickly cleaned our room since we had a dog that we could not leave in the hot car. They had a grandma's marathon hospitality room set up also that you could get bagels, water, fruit and have any questions answered the day before. Rhonda and her crew worked their butts off and long hours, but it was greatly appreciated! read more

Finding a hotel in Duluth for a Saturday night in the summer is difficult. We booked here since it was near the railroad museum for the event we were attending. The cost was about $275 for one night and the hotel deserved to get maybe $50. The room that we got smelled bad of mold. The ceiling in one spot was the culprit. The pool area had a lot of deferred maintenance. There were no pool towels and when asking the front desk, in my swimsuit, all they could say was that they were working on it and that they had a 'situation'. Then, someone finally came into the pool area and was straightening up the chairs around the tables and I asked him for the pool towels. Again - he blamed it on the 'situation'. After pushing in the chairs, he finally brought in the towels. There was a never an apology or anything, just word of the 'situation'. Whatever that was, must have been too much for everyone to handle. It is unfortunate that the Radisson would allow their name to be on this property. It is not deserving. They need to remodel this place badly. It is extreme price gouging. I should have just drove home instead of staying here. read more

I think the staff was wonderful, but it wasn't the best hotel! We had drywall pieces all over our floor in the corners of the room which told me, that it isn't really cleaned the best! If you don't pay for the "upgrade" you will end up with no view of the lake at all so keep that in mind when you book! We didn't pay the upgrade and had a view of the big hill which wasn't SO bad because it overlooked a fire station which was exciting! The elevators seemingly take FOREVER! I think we wasted a whole hour of our vacation weekend just waiting on an elevator. There is NOT a continental breakfast, wasn't a hinderance to our plan, but keep it in mind if you like to take advantage of that! The shuttle service is nice, and the entrance is beautiful but the rooms could use some updating! It is very 80's-ish and could definitely use some modernizing! Not the cleanest and definitely needs some maintenance done to replace the cracked and broken drywall which I am sure is present in more places than just our room! We were there for an event which is why I am sure it was more pricey for us, but for what we paid, I don't feel it was worth it! Next time I will find a room right in Canal Park! read more

The hotel is OLD. From what I gather it was built in the 50s. It has been updated and has a mid century modern flair. The staff is great. Probably the best staff I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. Like I said before, the building is old. The hallway carpet is stained. The elevators are slow and not in sync, doors sometimes open before the car comes to rest. One day the elevator was stuck on the 8th floor and wouldn't move. The doors would open, so it wasn't an emergency. The rooms have thin walls. If you have a loud neighbor, you have a loud room. The shower has on demand hot water, but the system can't keep up with all the rooms on the same system. It was a constant battle to get the water temp right; the water temp would be perfect one second, freezing cold the next and near scalding the next. The bed was a Sleep Number with one controller for both sides. The bed and controller were worn out. You have to press extremely hard to make the controller react. The bed was lumpy and uneven, almost as if some of the air chambers were not inflating at the same rate. The television only worked on about half of the channels. The others would freeze every second or two then come back, making them unwatchable. The exercise room was a pleasant surprise. It is small but had a variety of machines and free weights. It had obviously been updated recently with all new equipment. My room was clean and comfortable, other than the bed. The air conditioner was pretty loud and woke me up a few times. The window curtains are hung in a way that doesn't block Sunlight from entering at the bottom of the window. As soon as the sun came up, my room was pretty well lit. There is plenty of parking, about half of it covered. Did I mention the staff? If the staff had not made me feel like they genuinely cared about me, not just as a customer, I would have moved after the first night. It's a shame such a caring professional staff is stuck representing such a dud facility. I will be back to Duluth on business soon, but will not stay in the Raddison. read more

When I booked a room with Radisson, I thought alright, this is going to be a great vacation, I mean it's the Radisson. I was ok with the price, especially for on a weekend, the water in the hot tub was hot and it worked but that's about the best that I can do for a rating. There was a odor that was kind of deterring. I don't understand having sleep number beds, especially since mine didn't work, it kept losing air, started at an 80 and in the morning it was on 20. The ice machines should all work too, we had to go to 4 different floors before we found one that worked for my husbands ice pack. Luckily this didn't damper my vacation with my husband but would not recommend it to my friends. read more

I paid more than $100 per night for two nights. NOT going to stay at this hotel again. I checked in, the front desk folks are friendly, and when I entered the room, I found out they don't have microwave in the room, TV is big old heavy one, and fridge is all beaten up. I called the front desk requesting to change the room due to old TV or to bring microwave in the room. They told don't have any microwave and all the rooms are full. Friendly accommodating staff. Clean hotel & room. Those are my two positive two-star comments. That was the best part of our experience and pretty much the only reason we stayed a second night (besides the hassle of going somewhere else) The man at the front desk checking us in was very friendly! On the second day, we caught the housekeeping woman to let her know that our room was not needing cleaned but we just needed a few more supplies, so she loaded us up!...super nice! My initial thought while booking the room was "At $184/night, this must be a really nice room!" I'm SO glad I was able to get a federal employee discount ($109/night) because the room itself was more like a "Super 8 price". Though the parking areas were insanely packed, by some miracle we managed to find the last parking spot in the whole parking lot. The hotel itself needs updating in general, however it WAS clean. Two elevators is not enough to accommodate a fully occupied 15 story hotel. (hockey tournament & tour buses) Our room: The room smelled musty. The sleep number bed was broken with uneven baffles. No microwave. Not enough outlets. Television was outdated. The internet was slow. The doors to each of the hotel rooms slam, which can be heard from inside my room. I will emphasize that the staff was friendly and the hotel as a whole was clean. However, these two positives will keep us from staying here again ...especially with the price being charged per night. read more

I gave this 1 star only because I have to. I just stayed the weekend for a dance competition with hesitation but all other hotels in the proximity were full and my sister booked it. I am so dissatisfied with everything. Paid $450 for the weekend which was RIDICULOUS for how worn down and disgusting this hotel is! First of all, good luck getting an elevator! This isn't just something that has been a problem this weekend. I've stayed here a number of times in the last ten years for work and it is known at the office not to stay in the tower due to the slowness and frequent elevator breakdowns. This morning I took the service elevator and a condom wrapper was on the floor and opens up in the bowels of the hotel which make you cringe. Unfortunately, that is the only way you can have a room with a view. Housekeeping didn't replenish the Kcups or bottled water, small detail but $225 a night should ensure coffee in the morning. Plain and simple this hotel is run down. They tried making the rooms current but when you open the curtains to see the harbor you see water damage and pieces of the window frame falling off the wall. Bathrooms are disgusting with hair on the floor and mold in the grout. Toilet paper had coffee spilled on it and not to mention the continuous buzzing of the fluorescent lights. Shower curtain had a stain on it from something. Disgusting! My niece LOVES to swim and jumped in the pool and got out immediately because it was nasty. To sum it up, Radisson needs to take action. Get over yourself and your amazing view and stop ripping off your customers just because of the view. I will have to stay here again for work but dread it. read more

When we checked in (afternoon) we could hear a girl (and whoever else was in that room) very clearly through the walls. We didn't think a whole lot about it, it wasn't an issue at that time. Although very strange to have such thin walls. We left for several hours, returned around 10 pm after supper and a movie. The talking was still going on- hey, it's only natural to visit, who can blame them for that? But around 11, we wanted to sleep. We knocked on the wall, a "hey, can you guys quiet down now?" tap. They tapped back, and said that they were sorry, they were leaving shortly. They must have, because if got quiet and we went to sleep. Around 3 am, I woke to them talking and laughing louder than ever. I tapped on the wall next to the bed....a few seconds later, there's a knock @ my door. I got up, as I THOUGHT it was someone coming to apologize. NOT. There stood a young lady, asking me if she had been keeping me awake. "Yeah, I can hear every single word you're saying". She- "well, you just woke my fucking daughter up with your knocking on the wall. And when you POUNDED on the wall at 9:00 (it wasn't 9, it was after 10), you fucking woke my kid up with a nightmare!" I said- "you have children in there SLEEPING? With all of the talking going on in there?" She- yes, and I don't.....blah, blah, blah, fuck, fuck, fuck........" and she left in a HUFF. I was completely and utterly shocked. What the heck just happened???? I paced the floor, started to cry...my husband looked at the clock- "what time is it?" Me- "after 3 in the morning". He- "I'd call the front desk if I were you." Meanwhile, I hear that girl saying "that fucking bitch isn't going to tell me when to be quiet....laughing.....ha-ha-, yeah, and even though my daughter isn't HERE right now.....blah, blah, blah, that fucking......______, CAN YOU HERE ME NOW???!!!......."....and on, and on, and ON!!!"Oh my God, I was so upset. I got on the phone and explained what was going on. It was pretty obvious that the people in the next room heard me on the phone because there was not a PEEP afterwards. NOTHING. Until 7 am, when both Tim and I woke to the VERY SAME WORDS, me being a bitch, and the whole thing all over again. I could NOT believe it. They were singing the Canadian National anthem- And then it started again. We decided that we were leaving. We literally SNUCK out of the room, almost terrified of them seeing us cower out of there!! Is that stupid, or what???? We went to the front desk to check out, I made reference to calling in the night- it was well known who I was at that time. They wanted to know more, I said not here, in front of people, we met in the hall with the manager and told her the whole story. I was really upset to be taunted like that!!! Who was this girl??? Why did she treat me like that??? What the heck?????? I have never seen her before in my life!! VERY upsetting....oh, and when we were leaving our room, they were all singing OUR National Anthem.....yeah, really funny. VERY mature people here..... read more

Had a great stay at the Radisson Duluth. I was able to stay in one of the newly renovated suites it was really nice and excellent value. Great night sleep on the very comfortable bed, all the room furniture and decor was well done and the panoramic views of Lake Superior were amazing. Breakfast at the restaurant on the 16th floor with rotating views looking out over all of Duluth is also not to be missed. read more

Way overpriced for what you get. My boyfriend and I stayed here for two nights for a winter getaway, and we were extremely disappointed. Our bill was nearly $400. During booking, our expectations were high as this hotel is a Radisson. We did have a pet, and the one time $50 pet fee was expected. Upon checking in, the lobby is very elegant and welcoming. Staff was good, helpful, and receptive. Parking is questionable, the parking lot is small and on a hill. We stayed in room 238 in the back corner facing the parking lot. The issue we found with the location of our room was the constant headlights from the parking lot coming right into our room at night. Also, the curtains did not shut creating a sense of no privacy. Other than that, the room was clean but a bit outdated. One of the outlets was not working and the sleep number was broken as well. The bathroom was clean too, but the drain was broken and the shower head was meant for someone 5'3. Overall, it was overpriced for the quality you receive. The continental breakfast is not included and whatever you do NOT order food from JJ Astor! We did takeout from this restaurant which is on top of the hotel, and the food was horrible. read more

I will never stay at this hotel again. Every year my family goes to Bentleyville to see the lights and have a fun weekend before Christmas. This hotel was pack with kids; which was expected... however, the walls in this hotel are paper thin. We could hear every time someone was walking in the hall and all the toilets flushing in the rooms next to ours. The room neighboring ours had obnoxious guests who were so loud we could hear every word they were saying. We got some reprieve when they decided to go out around 10pm. They came back from bar hopping around 2:30am and woke up our sleeping children, we told them to be quiet and they said "go to bed you old hag" (pretty sure I was younger than them.) Aside from thin walls the heating and cooling system in our room was extremely old, the bathtub was dirty with soap scum, and waiting for the elevators was a nightmare. ALSO if you want to eat in the hotel restaurant you must make reservations. We paid $190 for one night of no sleep and a tub we didn't want to bathe our children in. read more

Two-star hotel at three-star prices... the hotel is dated, but that part didn't bother me nearly as much as that the beds were incredibly uncomfortable. They were sleep number beds, and if this is the way they always are, I say no thanks. However, I suspect instead that the hotel got the cheapest model and don't replace them often enough. Neither of us got a decent night's sleep. The service at the restaurant at the top was atrocious... we didn't actually get served--we went for breakfast, and although the restaurant appeared mostly empty, after waiting for about 10 minutes for the hostess to return to her station, we were told there would be a half hour wait. She was also pretty rude about it as though we had committed some grievous crime for not making a reservation. They don't have in-room check out, so we had to stand in line for 10 minutes just to hand back in our room key. We would certainly not stay here again. read more

We were sort of forced into this hotel due to the Tall Ships being in town and apparently there was nothing else available (not sure because someone else in the family was responsible for booking). $300 a night you expect pure luxury I would think! Very VERY disappointing. I see from reviews below that the manager says almost a year ago they are remodeling. There were no signs about that at all apologizing. Shouldn't have to find that out on Yelp!! No place to unload like a regular hotel (did they turn that spot into the bar downstairs?), at least the main lobby area had only a crowded little driveway where we couldn't even drop off the one handicapped member of our party. The parking lot was a shambles with holes and dead birds, and a sidewalk ACROSS from the parking lot, with no handicapped cuts even though it was new. The handicapped button for the main door didn't work, light bulbs were out in the lobby, the lobby did look newly furnished, but the mid-century look was shoddy and the carpet was already looking worn and dirty. Nobody bothers to polish the brass in the lobby or elevator, talk about fingerprints, how did they even get up there? I never ever saw anyone cleaning the lobby or public spaces like in other hotels, and we were there on weekdays. The up-down light on the elevator exterior on our floor (4) was not working, so every time the elevator came, we had to ask if it was going up or down, the ice machine did not work, so my elderly relative had to go to another floor. The halls were a chocolate mess with the baseboards torn out, nobody bothering to vacuum the mess up apparently, and the most stained, horrible carpet you have ever seen, just like the photo here from a year ago. In my room, the bathroom door was filthy, the tile was moldy (clean-moldy, like someone had tried, and it probably wasn't dangerous) with holes in the grout, the Corian counter had cigarette burns (aren't there repair kits for those things?). In another room in our group the Sleep Number bed didn't work, the TV didn't work (apparently something got unplugged during the hall baseboard tearout), and the bed baseboard was catty wompus from being broken, the sink was cracked, plus it was a bigger room with no more windows or lights so it was icky and dark. All in all the aesthetic experience was below an 89,99 hotel! And we paid not $150, not 220 but 300 a night for 3 rooms for 2 nights. Hopefully they can put that money to good use and hire a decent QA person to go through rooms and sit where guests sit, on the toilet, in the bath, etc. and start seeing things like scratched doors and old a/c units. Happy to be of help. Let's be clear, all this is not a staff problem, the staff was always helpful and never had a problem with staff. This is a management/QA problem. I don't know if they're resting on their laurels because they're the only nice hotel in miles or what. I have stayed at many Radisson properties and always felt they were a great value, and basically perfect in every way. This is not even up to the standards of a Super 8 in Sioux Falls, in fact, there they want tourists to come back so they make sure things are right. This Radisson needs to try harder especially because it's such a small, cramped old building. In other words, the Radisson Hotel Duluth is a total ripoff! Since I didn't book the room, a relative did, I called the hotel after we got home (not wanting to make a scene in front of the relative responsible of course) and was told that since the hotel was booked through Expedia, they had no responsibility for the price of the room, take it up with Expedia, and excuses on top of excuses. I think they should have immediately credited my relative's bill something like $200. AVOID the Duluth Radisson at all costs - but if it's free, feel free. read more
