I've been to Rafferty's on many occasions and have never been disappointed! Some of my favorites are the tossed chicken finger platter, the prime rib with raw horseradish on the side, the garlic mashed potatoes, the house salad, and the the Jackson Hole filet. Their salad dressings are all amazing! My favorite is the Tarragon vinaigrette, but also the ranch and the house honey mustard hot bacon are great as well. A couple seasonal specials that are delicious are the seafood gumbo soup and the banana cream pie. Their iced tea is freshly brewed and delicious. I usually get that with a lemon, but they also have a delicious menu of alcoholic beverages, including the rum punch and the bourbon mule . The wait staff is ALWAYS kind, prompt, and helpful. Tables are wiped and bathrooms are clean. Each time I go there I always see a manager walking the floor and helping out as needed. Very well-run. read more

We found this restaurant through our hotel site, and took a chance. Turned out to be the best choice! The restaurant itself had a great ambiance and decor. The food was excellent-we had orange-bourbon salmon and marinated steak, both of which were outstanding. The salad was a cut above your usual side salad, and their specialty honey nut croissants were mouth-watering. We decided to go back and try out Rafferty's again after the great dinner experience we had previously. We were not disappointed with the great service from Austin C and could see him leading the way in Athens, Ga. My better half tried out the catch of the day Mahi-Mahi and it was delicious. She loved the baked sweet potato. I had to give the ribs and hand cut fries a try and they were delicious. Nice amount of shredded cheese and real bacon bits on top. Food taste was good. I first went to Rafferty's in the 80's when in college. LOVED it then and it has still been wonderful over the years. We visited our daughter in Bowling Green and went last night for dinner and it was hopping on a Tuesday night. Thankfully we did call ahead seating reservations. Dined at Rafferty's last night. My prime rib and my wife's salmon were excellent. What was even more impressive was watching the professionalism and efficiency of the staff. The food here? Nothing special. I asked the waiter if the Kona chicken was good, he said he never tried it, but that people who order it tend to like it. I'm sure they were saying that go be nice... it was frankly just alright. It's ham and cheese with a pineapple ring on chicken. Pineapple ring was good! Even the sweet potato side with cinnamon butter was just okay. I kinda wanted it to be sweeter! What I liked about this place was the service, everyone here was very friendly! I needed to charge my phone while I was there and when I asked for a table near an outlet they were able to provide me with one. It was in a high traffic area however, so it kept getting knocked out of the wall- but the waitstaff would walk by and plug it back in! Very nice of them. Without it, I wouldn't have been able to get back to where I was staying in Nashville. I was there for a while catching up with my friend, and I never felt rushed to leave. I also liked the ambiance, it was a great place to meet a friend I hadn't seen in a while! Kinda dark, restaurant was separated into different sections so there was a sense of privacy, and clean bathrooms. There was also a big parking lot, but it was pretty busy! We like to sit in a booth at the bar, it's cozy. The bartender was our server, she was very friendly to us, but definitely friends with another group of people. That's my reason for 4 stars. She was too busy and loud talking to the booth behind us. The Creek Smash drink was very good if your looking for something a little different in a bourbon cocktail. The side salads here cannot be beat! Every dressing is homemade and salad ingredients are fresh. This was the first time we ordered the fried mushrooms. I had no idea they used fresh mushrooms with a light crispy coating...delicious! The dipping sauce has a kick to it and we loved it. Prime rib is consistently great here wether it's the sandwich or the meat alone. The side of fruit comes with a tasty dipping sauce. And of course the fries are the best. read more

Haven't eaten here in many years. My wife and I used to eat at the Knoxville TN location before it was closed. We were passing through and noticed this old favorite and we were not let down. The restaurant was super clean and the wait was rather short. The service was prompt and the food was great. We ordered the chicken tender dinner meal and as you can see from my photos the portion size is huge. I also included a picture of how much was left that we had to bring home. After glowing recommendations, my party of 11 dined here for dinner. We were in town for a Corvette function and the staff was very welcoming. Our waitress, Maggie, was very attentive and friendly. We started the meal off with a basket of their croissants. So delicious. Some got salads and/fried mushrooms. Everyone enjoyed those items as well. For my entree I got the chicken finger platter. I got half Buffalo and the other half plain. The portion was very large and I ended up with a take home box. My party liked their meals. The only dislike I heard about was the garlic mashed potatoes. Ate here for lunch on 5/10. I ordered a house salad with blue cheese dressing. My granddaughter had the mac n cheese. Daughter had the burger with fried and SIL had the chicken fingers. BLUE CHEESE DRESSING WAS ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING. Tasted like they just mixed mayonnaise and miracle whip, no blue cheese chunks. Lettuce was not drained properly. Dark green lettuce was bitter. I only had 2 bites and was still charged for it. The Mac n cheese tasted exactly like my childhood box Kraft Mac n cheese, the cheap box kind. I didn't try the burger or chicken fingers or fries. We ordered steaks. It did need a little more seasoning. But we think that's why they offer special butters to put on them. Side salad was good and served with a butter drizzled croissant. Lots to choose from my so. Got the Cajun shrimp Alfredo and liked it a little spicy. I would not recommend the coffee expresso martini. It did not have a good coffee flavor. read more

My sister really wanted a salad, as we haven't been eating all that well while on our road trip. We looked around online for restaurants near where we were staying in Cave City to see if they had entree salads, but nobody really seemed to. My sister came across Rafferty's while searching, and with all the great reviews, we decided that, since we didn't have anything else to do, we'd make the 30 minute trip. We're glad we did. We got there on a Monday night around 6:00. There was a 30 minute wait! That seems like a lot for a Monday. But we decided we'd stay, no longer how long the wait was, as we didn't know of anywhere else. We were glad we waited. Our server, Will, was very pleasant and friendly. My sister got her salad, but I indulged in ribs and a baked potato. Her salad was good, although she said it wasn't special. The croissant she got with it was a different story, though. It was flaky and had a touch of something sweet, perhaps honey? on top. My ribs were very good -- a smoky flavor, although not overpoweringly so, and so tender that they fell off the bone. The baked potato was good as well. My sister decided she wanted dessert almost as soon as she ordered her dinner. She got the apple walnut dessert that had a crunchy topping. She got the ice cream on the side, and I ate most of that. All of it was delicious! I also really liked the ambiance. It felt warm and friendly, and not at all like a chain, even though I know that it is. (I have a "rule" when I travel that I avoid chain restaurants, but I do have a caveat that if it's not a chain that we have near us, it doesn't count as a chain.) Great service and pretty good food sums it up. Not hard to notice that the wait staff and management go out of their way to make sure their customers are happy. We had the prime rib with broccoli and the 1/2 rack of baby back ribs with broccoli. Both of us started with a salad. The dinner salad is large with a nice variety of components. The prime rib was pretty fatty, but also very flavorful. It was a nice size and very glad I did not get the larger size (another 5 ounces). My wife enjoyed her ribs. The broccoli did not seem very fresh (yellowed florets I would not have served at home), but it was fine. read more

House salad with recommended house dressing was very good. Most house salads are very basic, but this one had lots of goodies. The one downer was the hostess/greeters. There were 4 of them when we walked in. The hubby asked about a table, and they indicated probably didn't want to wait. Hubby says, how long, an hour? To which one replied 10 minutes. Seemed odd. My daughter came in about 15 mi minutes after us, and mentioned there was a mean girl vibe at the front. On my way out, I noticed the same thing.
