Just went to this location with a party of 8. Was told we could have 2 tables of 4 right next to each other but that it was policy we couldn't push the tables together to sit together? I've been here before and been able to push tables together. Has this become a new rule or has anyone else had this problem before. So admittedly I am not a great fan of the restaurant but for a birthday of a senior It seems to be the only place to go.... Food was good. It was hot though my chicken sandwich could have done with a few more moments being cooked but it was passable. Their signature item the chicken salad was very tasty (I had to try ) but overall i am just not a fan. Service did not wow me and the place was very noisy... I had high hopes for my first time but I realized after my food arrived that my salmon was medium which I wouldn't have selected and my mash potatoes were cold. The server never asked how things were or even offered to refill 2 out if our 3 waters. Our dessert came out a soupy mess which probably means the ice cream sat on the cookie way too long and the server should have known not to even serve it. My mom is very picky about her lemons in her drinks. Many restaurants don't wash their lemons before serving and just drop the pesticide infested fruit into the beverage. Our favorite server, Carmichael at Rafferty's always places the lemons on a stick over the beverage( added picture) We always look for him when we're here. Eat in Dining is good enough - have done that for many years with no issues. location is convenient and parking area is sufficient. Then came CoVid- called in a to go order-- they could have mentioned then that the to go pick up area is not a drive thru NOR within the main restaurant entry. But they didn't- & it's not visible from the usual main entry - front of the building. So move car & go to the to go pick up entry-- there were at least 20 other bags of food there waiting to be picked up.Food was room temp at best & tasted like cardboard. Tried the to go option a couple of other times- (once with I'll pick up in like 15 minutes if u can do that- they said yes--since it isn't far from me)- always same - numerous bags on a counter & received cold inedible food. Have no clue how long some of those bags had been sitting there! I thought since my order was last minute I could expect different results-- um no! Inside dining in the main room or bar area is fine & I've never had any problems, that I recall, with their service ( in like over 7 years) - so there's that. I've had, steaks, salmon, pork chops, many of their sandwiches, burgers, & salads - all good. Location is good to meet up with people coming from different directions-convenient & it's easy to find. (It's not a Stoney River or Coastal Fish etc. ( fine dining) good- but neither are the prices as high. And yes- their salads & those special croissants are yummy! and I do like that we can chose plain water, iced tea & the like- or something with alcohol if we want- yes we r plenty old enough!) in my humble opinion- if u want to eat there- have the time & inclination to dine in - - but you can get better to go food from any number of restaurants in the vicinity & many with a convenient drive up option. They just don't have a good to go system that compliments the food offerings, or their demand here- in my opinion. The prices either way are what I'd call mid-range- but for take out- waste of money - IMO- if you want a hot meal or even just a sandwich & fries. (I haven't even tried getting a beverage to go- so that might be ok- & maybe salads to go are ok--idk.(but so far as I could tell- nothing ordered to go was kept either warm , or cold as might be applicable- regardless of the order.)) I have no clue as to whether this is all in compliance with recommended food safety protocols - ( nor do I know if same is even a consideration) --my judgements are based on a taste & quality comparison of the their particular dining options. read more

If you want the slowest service and cold food, go here. There must not be another restaurant in this area because the wait is 2 hours. Then they seat you and you have to send a manager for your waitress. Instead of the manager being helpful, he immediately said he didn't have anyone without me telling him my issue. We came in with a party of 6 and were placed at a small round table. There wasn't enough room to safely distance among ourselves. 3 of us moved another table together which allowed us to both safely distance ourselves and from others. A manager came over raising his voice and saying that the tables couldn't be moved no matter what, period! This was completely shocking as we were all in uniform (EMS). This wasn't acceptable in any customer service setting. This could've been easily mitigated by moving us to the tables that were already put together and had room to distance. This was our first visit to this store. Upon arrival we were immediately seated and informed of the daily specials. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was pleasant. A six panel TV array dominated one wall without being intrusive. A half dozen more flat panels were strategically placed through out the room. We could smell hickory smoke walking up to the restaurant but it did not invade the interior space. I ordered prime rib with broccoli and a salad. My wife had a fried chicken salad. Both meals were cooked spot on and delivered in an appropriate amount of time. My wife loved the house dressing and I really enjoyed my prime rib. Note: They gave me enough broccoli for 2 or 3 people. Normally this would get a 4 star review but our waiter "Carlos M." made it a 5 star experience. If I still owned a restaurant, I would have hired him on the spot. Carlos was exceptional in every way - this is a great example of how staff can alter the perception of the guest. read more

You cannot drive by this place without taking a whiff and feel like having a steak! From my experience in the past, the employees really look happy to be at work and always go the extra mile to make sure everything is great. On a recent visit, I wanted to get my mashed potatoes warned up and not only did my server check on me often but the manager came out to apologize. I noted that he greeted everyone and really cared that you had a great meal. I will definitely be back and recommend the Jackson Hole steak and the prime rib sandwich. Always great service. So far my favorites are the cheese burger and fries, the fried chicken salad with the honey butter croissant, the club sandwich, the fried mushrooms are a must appetizer. I've been to this location many times in the past when I lived in Memphis, and I can tell you, the service and quality has always been great. Went here with the family on a whirlwind trip back home for a couple days last week and had a late lunch around 3pm. I ordered my favorite item, the buffalo chicken salad with the hot bacon dressing. And we had several different appetizers amongst the 6 of us. Our server was very attentive, constantly keeping us with refills and removing empties from the table. She was amazing. The main reason I come here is for the honey butter croissants. Yeeees. The ribeye is good, it can be a little fatty sometimes though. But for the same kind of taste there's also the Kona chicken which is great. Their sides are pretty good too, I've only tried the french fries (awesome), and the mashed potatoes (also very good). I go here fairly often with my family, always really good food! They have a REALLY good burger and blue cheese sirloin. I forgot (because I'm not a parent) that my sister was bringing my infant niece in her car seat and in the middle of a busy dining room and seeing our struggle to fit a baby at our booth, the older lady host walked over and took us to a better table without us even asking. It was really sweet and we appreciated that. If I back up a little bit, there were some rude people in the waiting area who got sat like ONE minute after another party who apparently come in after them.. I worked at a restaurant, so I know that sometimes happens .. and for a good reason usually. This lady starts being confrontational to the two ladies at the front and they kept their cool and were so kind to this lady anyway. That was cool to see. I haven't written a review in a while. I recently visited Rafferty's for my birthday to celebrate with a girlfriend. It was lunchtime, it smelled delicious! Being on a diet (as usual) I wanted a salad, so I ordered the Spinach Salad with chicken. The Chicken had the consistency of rubber. It was as if it was pre-grilled and frozen, then thawed and sliced and placed on my salad. GROSS! I expect my food, in a restaurant such as this, to be cooked when ordered, fresh. I must not understand restaurants at all. I expect my food to be freshly prepared and not defrosted or poured from a plastic bag. Thanks but NO THANKS. I will NEVER order that again... I don't go to Rafferty's regularly even though they are very close, but it will be a long time before I go there again. The Waiter seemed professional, he was kind and brought us our order, however, we both ordered water with our meals. He didn't bother to offer a refill on our water. We ate here since we were visiting from out of town. They seemed to follow covid rules pretty well, so we felt safe. The server was a little scarce at times, but he was fine. The potato soup was really good, but not quite as filling as I would of liked. I grew up loving Rafferty's. It was always so exciting to be taken to Rafferty's as a child. These days it isn't very exciting. Their staff is fine, their restaurant is clean, but the food is lacking. Literally the only two things I eat at Rafferty's are the honey croissants (no nuts) and the chicken finger salad. Don't get me wrong, those two things will have me coming back to Rafferty's for as long as I am in Memphis. The croissants are melt in your mouth delicious!!! We always order some to take home. The chicken finger salad IS my favorite salad ever. The chicken tenders are so perfectly cooked and crispy. The cheese is mild and creamy. The boiled eggs in the ranch are tasty. I don't know if the quality of the ingredients has changed or if my taste has changed - probably the latter. But one thing that I still love at Rafferty's are the fried mushrooms. Poor customer service , My coworkers and I wanted to place lunch orders , the lady would answer the phone and place us on hold before we could get one word out and keep you on hold 10 plus minutes after being kept on hold so many times I requested a manger her name is Tiffany clearly doesn't hold the staff accountable as she made excuses for their poor customer service ..... stating they are busy and that 10-15 minutes on hold was acceptable, how can placing an order take longer than them cooking th order ? I literally don't like to write reviews but I'm currently all around very upset at this level service. First we had to wait an hour and forty-five for seating of seven ppl. Told us we can't seat together. Literally placed us apart while there was whole tables separating us. We even asked for a set of tables that no one was sitting at in the back. Asked the manager about the tables or even letting sit at one of the tables that was closer and she literally got an attitude saying we can't sit you in the section together. We literally asked to sit closer to our party and she just repeated her self with a voice and attitude. We just dropped the whole conversation because she obviously doesn't understand and she's supposed to be the manager. Long story short, both sections that we asked for, she told us no and waiting until we ordered THEN LITERALLY SET DIFFERENT PARTIES AT BOTH OF TABLES WE ASKED FOR! You send a party to opposite sides of the room. If we came together WE WANT TO EAT TOGETHER or at least near each other. Not to mention the 2nd half of our party got their food AND FINISHED EATING BEFORE WE GOT OUR FOOD! And we told the waitress we waiting on other to get their table so we could all order together. Walked in about 8:30 on Monday night..seated right away. Confusion over which server was going to take my table. The first server was very friendly, and took my drink order.. She turned like the hands on a clock, when she realized it was someone else's table. When I told her she got my drink order incorrect..she got defensive and started mumbling as she walked away. Came back with the corrected order and slammed it on the table, and walked away (I'm a little confused as to why though) The correct server took my dinner order and seemed to care less.
