The pastry was good, just like other pastries. I had a cold ice tea but I thought I was getting a mix of coffee/tea by the way the menu was set up. Or it was just me and since it was my first time, I panicked. Haha. I enjoyed the atmosphere upstairs. While it was slightly packed when we got there, we chose to sit downstairs. It would be super cute if the upstairs decor transitioned to the lower level as well. Overall, I will try again but give myself time to pick something. read more

I got an espresso (house blend) and a pour over (light roast, Colombia) The espresso was mostly bitter, with mild acidity. 2/5 Creamier texture or a light sweetness would have helped. The pour over was smooth with coco bitterness and mild citrus acidity. 3/5 Would try a different pour over if I was in the area. read more

This place was packed on a Saturday and rightfully so! I saw many people sitting down with their loved ones to share a coffee. Vibes were good but a tad on the louder side. Spanish latte 10/10: rich. This is really a 3.5. I needed a spot to hang out for two-ish hours in Laurel, and I popped in here for some coffee and a snack if I needed one. The decor is inviting and charming, and this place is owned by a church but it's not too in your face about it. The service was friendly and my orders came out pretty quickly both times. The coffee was pretty average, though. It's La Colombe, which is a macro roaster owned by Chobani based out of Philedelphia (you will also notice the Chobani yogurt sold in a cooler). My cortado was good, but there were some grounds hanging out in the bottom and there was nothing special about it. They were out of bagels, so I ordered a croissant, which looked great but they asked if I wanted it heated and I should have said no because that is code for "microwaved", which rendered it very soft, and the interior of it was fairly cavernous too. Do not get it heated. The drip coffee was, again, solid but nothing special. I'm probably being a little more critical just because of how highly rated this place is; like I said, this is more of a 3.5 to me. read more

Service: fast and friendly Ambiance: cute vibe upstairs, additional seating downstairs but not as cute of a vibe. I wish I lived in the state because I would have this coffee five times a day. It's in such a little town. It's super cute. The town is definitely walkable. I would recommend grabbing a coffee and walking around a bit to explore. But maybe you should grab two coffees because their coffees are so great! They don't have too many flavor options I think it's because they know how phenomenal their coffee beans are. They do latte art here which is super fun as well. But their coffee is so smooth. It's just the perfect warm bottle of joy. read more

I was really excited to try this spot after seeing all the great reviews, but I actually ended up disappointed with my drink. I ordered an iced chai tea with oatmilk. I wanted to add vanilla, but was informed that they don't use any syrups, but had simple syrup available off to the side once my drink was ready. No problem. It took just a few minutes for my order to be ready, although the cafe was busy. I was expecting a rich, flavorful and creamy drink due to the oatmilk and received a dull, watery beverage. The cafe is cute, and the seating area was packed with folks socializing or working on laptops. It seems like there's also an event space, as I saw engagement party balloons leading to a space downstairs. read more

Lived in the area for such a long time but never been here until today. I think this place is pretty great! I got the hot matcha latte and it was delicious and definitely satisfied my craving. It was plenty sweet and the matcha flavor was there. I personally love the flavor of matcha and could've had more of that earthy flavor, but it was decent. My friend got the iced matcha latte and it was definitely watered down. It felt like they took the hot latte and added a bunch of milk or water so it was a lot more bland than mine. I also got an almond croissant to take home with me. It was, meh. The croissant itself was very hollow in the middle which was disappointing. It didn't have that classsical pointed crescent shape. The almond filling was also decent. The space itself was cute and cozy. A good amount of seats but you might find it difficult to find a seat if you come later in the morning. So we are trying different coffee shops around the Columbia/DC area and made our way into Ragamuffins. This place was great, friendly people, and good drinks. The owner/manager was polite and we had a great conversation about the mission of the shop. There are several areas for you to sit and chat with friends. The shop wasn't too noisy, was bright and clean. There was a mix of high top seating and couches. Parking was easy on the street. I had a Latte which was good and some friends had a Cortado, which they come to this shop for. Take away, good vibe, good drinks, nice place. Worth giving a shot. read more

I need to hang out on Main Street more often. I'm not a coffee drinker, but they love lovely teas and pastries. I went around lunch time, so I shouldn't have been surprised by how busy it was. I was extra surprised to learn about a basement, where no one was. It is literally the perfect place to hang out and work at. And free parking along the street? C'mon. I ordered the blueberry hibiscus tea, which was ready almost immediately and came in the most lovely tea cup and saucer. And I was shocked to see a kouign-amann in their display case. Yes I got it... and they warmed it up for me :). It was soooo tasty while I chatted with the person I was meeting. This is a lovely coffee house and they have a heartwarming mission. Ragamuffins, where have you been in my life?! Ragamuffins is a cute, cozy coffee shop filled with nothing but good cups of Joe's (they also offer tea) that will get your day started right! I ordered the Cafe Miel, which consists of espresso, milk, honey, and cinnamon powder. Their price point is very reasonable, and I love how they offer a for-here mug. I noticed their ceramic mugs are handmade by a local artist. Customer service was efficient, and I had my coffee in no time. What also stood out for me was the water station provided by the handout station. They also offer sparkling water, which is fantastic. As for parking, there is street parking, and from my experience, I didn't have any issue finding a spot. I will be back here to get my coffee fix! read more

Stopped in before the haunted house and loved this little place. Tried something different by having an affogato with dulles de Leche ice cream. The flavors mixed wonderfully and when mixed together became perfection. There was live music being played when I arrived but it wasn't loud. It was low and I was still able to have a conversation. Service was great and fast. Prices were what they should've been. $4 for an affogato makes me wish I lived closer. I'll definitely stop in any time I'm in the area. read more

This coffeeshop has such a nice atmosphere! It's very cozy and the noise level isn't overbearing to distract you from working or reading. It can be difficult to find somewhere to sit at times, but luckily, there's additional seating downstairs. The menu isn't extensive as it's a very chill coffeeshop, but the pastries and drinks are pretty good. It's definitely become one of my favorite coffeeshops to work at. Cortado, Latte, Mocha, Spanish Latte, Affogato, Turmeric Latte, Matcha Latte, Hot Cocoa. I can attest all these beverages are made artfully and tastily at Ragamuffins. Yes, with the cute Portlandesque foam art! The service is quiet, efficient and pleasant. No yelling out wrong names, no cursing. They speak in dulcet tones here. The ambience is giving Borders Coffee shop circa 1997 with a soupçon of Takoma Park uplifting and purposeful. That is the highest compliment. It's one of my favorite coffee places on the planet. They are closed Sundays for spiritual reasons and Mondays. But it's a great homey place the other five days a week. Oh! And if it couldn't get any better, first Tuesdays are $2 lattes, regular only, iced or hot! read more

I love how cute their coffee is! The mug adds an extra aesthetic touch. I loved getting the worker's recommendation on which coffee to get based on my taste. This coffee shop is located in downtown Laurel so there is street parking, which is all free. It usually isn't too hard to find parking somewhere along Main Street. read more

Probably one of the worst iced dirty chai's I've had. I had to throw it away it was mixed that bad. Too much oat milk and absolutely no chai. I even asked for cinnamon powder multiple times and received none. Definitely not returning. read more

Ragamuffins has the classic small coffee shop vibe. The atmosphere is very chill and low key and the service is outstanding. They don't have any syrups and crazy flavors. Just really good coffee. Which is not to say that it's dull. You can get a cafe miel, which is a latte sweetened with honey and cinnamon, or a golden latte which is essentially steamed milk with turmeric and other spices. They do have pumpkin spice lattes during fall if that's your thing. They also have amazing pastries. There are the classics like butter croissants and standard muffins but they also have neat ones like Kouign Amann which is a flaky and caramelized buttery pastry and cro'gels which are a mix of croissants and bagels. Lastly they also have complimentary chilled flat and sparkling water on tap which is awesome after a brisk walk. read more

Feels strange to be in the minority opinion wise here, but my experience wasn't great. The shop itself is very Kirkland Home, Live Laugh Love...if that's your vibe, you'll fit right in. From the girl without a smile at the register, to the No Loitering sign with pride of place, welcoming was the opposite of the feeling given. I saw patrons of diverse shapes and sizes, which was nice. My partner said the bathroom was well maintained. The place is run by a church. There is no queer friendly signage, no art, no creativity to the drinks. His tea was bland and my latte was ok. Just okay. Won't be back. read more

No, here is a nice coffee shop for those that wish to hang throughout the day with their own laptop or to mingle with others. It appeared to be mostly of a college gathering atmosphere & this is not to say others are welcome. Of course, there was a little bit of everybody in the dining area. This is a nice selection of food items and as well as beverages, both hot and cold. The service was good and again, it appears to be mostly run by college students, which is always nice to see our future doing what they need to do to get ahead.. I think the name of the establishment is very catchy, and probably one of the reasons somebody would like to come inside and check it out. Since I was on the go, I decided to go with the ube latte. The staff at the register was very helpful in explaining their different offerings. My latte was great but it did not come with the whipped cream that was in the picture on their menu. When I asked to have whipped cream, only a light topping was added and I was given back the same flat lid instead of the domed lid that was in the photos. The overall taste of the drink was great but I do wish the presentation was more like their promotional photos. However, I would return to try their ice cream and other offerings.

This place offers a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere with abundance of seating. The environment is conducive to sitting with the dazzling sun enjoying the moment at the high top or seating low chairs, doing a little reading or work on your computer. The options are up to you but the vibe and setting is everything. While sitting here enjoying my acai bowl and latte, I watched the lady come in with more beautiful black art pieces. Not that I looked specifically to seek out a female owned cafe during National female month; it was my pleasure to have patronized a dope black female owned business. There was also a beautiful mural. In terms of food, I was really excited to try both the sweet and savory crepes. There was one couple ahead of us who walked in at the same time as us, so while their order was being made, we perused the menu. There was only one employee at the shop making the crepes so their order took awhile (they waited at least 15 minutes for two crepes). We finally got to put our order in and the employee said it'll be 15 mins for what we ordered (chicken & shrooms crepe, shrimply the best crepe, and s'mores crepe). Each crepe is moderately priced but I was pleasantly surprised at how big the crepes were. However, while we were waiting for ours to be made, the couple who got their order ahead of ours came back saying there was a foreign object in their crepe and they wanted a refund because they had no time to wait for a new one to be made. The employee seemed to not be sure how to refund the order and had to make a call which made our wait even longer. It also made me a little nervous for what I'd find in my crepe - but our crepes seemed okay. The employee also forgot to make our s'mores crepe so there was more of a wait for that, but we dined in so it wasn't a huge deal. The service overall could be improved with better staff training and just more staff in general to handle orders even on what they might think is a slow day. We eventually got our crepes and the shrimp crepe was delicious and had a little spicy kick to it which i loved. It also had a little salad in there so half the crepe was cold which I didn't love but could deal with. The chicken & mushroom crepe was also fantastic and had even more flavor and a kick to it. The s'mores crepe was also a perfect sweet finisher to the meal. All things considered, I'd come back once in a blue moon, but once they add more staff and have a more efficient process, I'd come back more often for those delicious crepes.
