Sidamo Coffee & Tea has quickly become one of my favorite little spots. The shop has such a cute, quaint vibe--perfect for relaxing or catching up with a friend. Their coffee is consistently great--rich and flavorful, and you can tell they really care about quality. I also love their lentil soup--it's comforting, well-seasoned, and a perfect pairing with a cup of coffee. That said, the customer service could use a bit of improvement. It hasn't been a dealbreaker for me, but a warmer, more attentive experience would really take this place to the next level. Still, definitely worth stopping by if you're in the area! read more

Awful coffee! It's such a shame since the location and shop have so much potential. I should have read the other reviews and not even give this place a try. Service is mediocre and they are the only coffee shop in Maple Lawn. I got a vanilla latte for $7 and it tasted like a worse version of a Dunkin' Donuts iced coffee. Don't get me wrong, I like Dunkin' if that's the price and expectation I have for my coffee that day. Too much cream, too much sugar, and no espresso coffee flavor. The hot lattes don't even have latte art and that's expected if it's going to be an overpriced coffee shop. I should have known it was a red flag when she didn't ask me about any milk options. My boyfriend ordered a pineapple smoothie and that was good. The only saving grace to us giving this 2 stars. The cafe is outdated and needs to be updated if the coffee is going to be terrible. I would rather go to Starbucks or Dunkin' than here in the future. Such a disappointment for a coffee shop in Maple Lawn. read more

I usually come here during my lunch break. It's a nice quite place that's in the back of the shopping center. I generally order a house coffee or a latte. Both are taste good and come out quickly. I've also tried the ham sandwiches which are good and come with rice. As for the ambience half the place looks like a coffee shop and the other half looks like a school room. I guess this is a good place to take your kids. I've never had an issue with service here. From what I can tell it doesn't get super busy here during lunch so you'll always get your order fast. read more

I haven't been to Sidamo in a long time, pre- Covid and I live in the area. I thought I would treat myself to a lavender latte and read a book inside on a rainy Saturday. I like the vibe and ambiance. They had jazz music playing and not as loud as Starbucks. I like the art that lines the walls. It feels very homey. The last time I was here, there were a lot of mothers hanging out with other moms and their children in strollers. It was also a weekday before lunch too. Today, there were few people hanging out with their friends or reading a book. I like the couch area and where I sat to read my book, drink my lavender latte, and people watch. Sidamo also offers baked goods and lunch. From my observation, people that come to Sidamo are regulars and possibly live in the area or nearby. read more

Sidamo is bright and cheery. It's a convenient spot to grab a bite or coffee and tea while in Fulton and would recommend sticking to the coffee or tea. I tried their Grilled Chicken Sandwich at one point and maybe they've changed their recipe since then but it was a little disappointing. read more

Not sure what type of sugar they use but it was super gritty and not melted. This wasn't my first time here. The owners seem so angry all the time. Not friendly and no smiles. Oh and they use very cheap cups. I accidentally went to grab my from the cup holder from my car and it just broke. Spilled everywhere. I highly do not recommend coming here. I don't live in Laurel, but I attend church there and was taken to Sidamo today. I was told it was unusually busy, but the barista said it was a book club meeting. That says something good to me about a coffee shop! I love that they serve "for here" orders in non-matching china and glass cups. My small mocha was delicious and served attractively, steaming hot and very enjoyable. I wanted an almond scone, but all they had left were raisin scones (no thank you!) so I got a small pastry with dark chocolate. I don't know what it's called, but it was yummy! I saved half to eat later. My friend goes there often and opted for her usual, a latte, which she pronounced "perfect, as always". We sat at the counter, because of the place being mostly full, but the bar stools are padded are comfy, so it wasn't a bad experience. I like the cheery décor and open feel that is also cozy. That's a tough balance to achieve, but they did it well. The barista was very pleasant and our orders came up quickly. I would certainly go back, next time I'm nearby. read more

It's easy to be kind. It's easy to be polite. It's easy to offer good service to patrons. But not here at Sidamo during my last visit. Nice place. But the lady behind the counter had an attitude that suggested I was an interruption to her day. My friend and I ordered the lunch special and two cappuccinos. After a reasonable wait, the lentil soup and grilled cheese appeared. The lentil soup was watered down and didn't have much taste. The sandwich was fine but nothing special. The two caps unapologetically didn't appear until well after we received our food -- at least 20 minutes for coffee. Sidamo Coffee could be much more than it is but a change in attitude might be helpful. read more

Great spot to sit and work or chat with friends. Great outdoor seating with shade and lots of space inside. Food was simple but delicious, and every meal comes with a side- if you have dietary restrictions, make sure you ask what's in the side. Walked in and the place is quite charming and quaint with neat little gift items. It was quiet and seemed to be a good place to work or chat with a friend. The service and poor quality of product is the reason for the lone star. There was nothing cheery or customer service oriented from the staff. I came in for a smoothie and it was like pulling teeth to find out what is in the smoothie. I was told it was fresh fruit juice with water and ice. I would have had better luck at 7-11 with an icee as you can see from the pictures. I guess I better stick to coffee and tea at a place like this. But I won't be back for the service as I can relate to some of the other comments on the attitudes. read more

The most amazing turkey club sandwich ever! We came in today, myself, as well as my grandmother and my mom. It was a sunny but cold January day and so we were thrilled that they offer indoor seating, provided adequate social distancing is respected. We were very well received by the hostess! I greeted her in Amharic and she was pleasantly surprised at my attempt. I immediately recognized Theodoros Mitiku, the Ethiopian jazz musician whose instrumental music was on the speakers inside, a personal old favorite of mine. We ordered a cappuccino, camomile tea, and a quad espresso for myself. Everything was delicious. Then we decided that we were hungry, so we had a blueberry crumb cake and a club sandwich that came with a tasty ziti pasta. We are shocked at the sheer deliciousness of this club sandwich. The turkey and the molten cheese alongside it, the creamy sauce that it comes with, and the warm toasty bread with the perfect texture. We liked it so much and we begged for another one even though they were about to close for the day! (Sorry!) I honestly have zero complaints whatsoever about the outstanding service that we received today. A very cozy and warm and welcoming setting, a very clean interior, and responsible management that wear their masks and keep everything sanitized, clean and orderly. I had a meeting on a Friday morning in June 2018 at an office about a mile from this coffeeshop. Since I was really early, I decided to stop by here to grab breakfast and get some work done before my meeting. I arrived around 8:15 AM. The coffeeshop was reasonably busy, but there wasn't really a line at the register, and it was easy to find a seat. There were a few tables outside, but since it was starting to get really hot, I opted for a seat inside. I ordered a small chai tea latte and a slice of cranberry crumble bread to stay. There was a small selection of sweet breads and muffins to choose from, as well as breakfast sandwiches. The bread/muffin selection looked pretty basic. They also sold packaged food such as Kind bars. The lady working at the register was friendly and seemed pretty softspoken. The coffeehouse doesn't accept Amex, but does accept MasterCard and Visa. My drink came out in a few minutes and was just what I wanted in a chai. The cranberry crumble bread was tasty, but nothing too special. The tables and bathroom were clean when I was there. There's an area where you can bus your dishes after you're done. The café had a nice, warm ambiance and seemed to be pretty popular with locals; over the course of my visit, more and more people started showing up to have meetings with coworkers or friends. Some of these parties could be a bit loud, so maybe keep that in mind if you're planning on reading/working here. read more

I had the chicken salad sandwich with chips , an Honest Ice Tea, a large Chai Latte and a Ginger Cake. I was hungry....!!!!!!
