Food is consistent, it hits every time! Service is fast & whoever is on the register is usually accommodating & helpful when we want to try new things. Most importantly, the ambiance is great for people who need a spot to study or work. The music is at a good volume & usually the other patrons are quiet and considerate. There's free WiFi & bathrooms across the hall. One of my favorite study spots.

Cute hang out spot I came across after shopping at the Asian supermarket. Really reminds me of NY... how is miss it. Lots of seating, pretty causal setting. We did take out and ordered a drink. The staff were friendly and helpful. Had the espresso explosion with a shot - so good! Reminded me of a strong coffee ice cream. Looking forward to that drink again and trying some other dishes!

Rain cafe has a great boba and food menu. Their options are great and their spider sushi roll is my go to. We had them cater our baby shower with 2 boba options and they provided the toppings. Price for food and boba are reasonable considering some are very steep now these days. The service is quick. Younger staff, no small talk. The ambiance is dark and quite cluttered with boxes in the corner and entrance. Cleanliness is okay, could be better with more frequent clearing of the bust your own table area.

I'm obsessed with this place recently! I LOVE IT! Honestly surprised it isn't rated higher. It's a great place to get work done and study. They have big booths and a lot of space in the cafe which I love so you can spread out and do your work. Not only do they offer a wide variety of drinks, also allowing you to adjust how much sugar is used in the drink, but they also offer a nice selection of food as well. So whether you're just looking to get a quick drink or a quick bite - this is your spot. I've been going through the menu to try a lot of things (everything as been amazing) but I've been recently stuck on their salted egg chicken rice bowl. OMG it's so delicious and surprisingly a bit spicy, which I love. Service wise, they generally don't bring food and drinks to you. It's more of an order, then pick up at the counter kind of place. I like this though as I imagine it helps keeps their food reasonably priced. It usually takes about 10-15 mins for food to come out. You can get it to go as well. It's nice it's connected to the Asian Family Market too, in the event you want to pick up some groceries after your visit as well. 10/10 spot - I highly recommend.

I believe Rain Cafe is the only restaurant around Seattle serving banfen, which intrigued us enough to visit over the weekend. I was expecting it to be full of people for lunch, given that the Asian Family Market next door is always packed on the weekends, but was surprised to see it basically empty with only a couple of people waiting for takeout. Inside, the atmosphere is a casual, dimly lit hangout spot. It seems like it's a place to sit with a laptop and study since there's free wifi and plenty of space. As a more casual cafe, the place is counter service, making the ordering and eating experience easy. Beef Noodle Soup ($12.95) - This beef noodle soup uses broth that's very weak in both beefiness and the classic beef noodle herbal spice taste. The liquid is very thin, with no body and a very one note flavor profile. I feel like it might be a powder based instant broth or something similar. The rest of the ingredients aren't too much better. There's the beef that, while splitting apart along the grain easily, is tough and fibrous on the teeth. Eating it is like a dog trying to gnaw meat off a bone - chew, chew, chew, chew with the beef barely breaking down with each bite. For some reason, the beef tastes almost a little soapy. There are thin ramen-like noodles, overcooked with no bite due to being too soft. They are generous with the amount of noodles given, but it's not very good in texture. There are fried shallots that are soaked through in broth and completely softened, but they do add a nice fried allium taste. Finally, some bok choy, cooked thoroughly, fills the rest of the dish. (3/5) Beef Banfen ($13.99) - The rice noodles included in this dish are much bouncier and far better cooked than the wheat noodles in the beef noodle soup. They are tossed in some (most likely) Lao Gan Ma chili crisp, and some soy sauce. Again, kind of one note in flavor. It's missing layering, it's missing aromatics, it's just very flat flavor-wise. There are diced pickled radish and roasted Spanish peanuts to add a bit more flavor and a crunchy texture. A dash of green onion graces the top but doesn't contribute much. The dish comes with a couple of slices of thinly shaved beef. It's very similar to roast beef in both texture and taste. (3/5) Rain Black Milk Tea, 50% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($4.75) - Well I can say that this is among the cheapest boba that can be found in Seattle. Quality-wise? It's kind of suspect. Starting with the tea - good creaminess with a tea that tastes somewhat like mulling spices. Both sweetness and ice level are ideal at half. The boba is not good. The pearls are small and hard, not very bouncy at all, but taking ages to chew through given their toughness. They approach being pebble-like in consistency. Milk Tea Rating: 3.5/5 Boba Rating: 2/5 Rain Cafe has one thing going for it, and that's the pricing. It's certainly very affordable for Seattle and if I were a poor college student again, I would appreciate a filling meal at this price point. At this point in life, however, I'd rather pay a bit more to get food and drinks that are of higher quality.

I go here often with my son for boba. It's good. They give you a discount if you bring back the cup. Today I had the spicy shoyu ramen. It's affordable, relatively to other places, and tasty. Didn't take long. I'd say it was a good value. The atmosphere is not warm...it's kind of awkward really....a lot of students...but I don't really mind that...it's not a fine dining establishment. Just decent ramen and boba. I do think it's a little weird that they're selling cheap jewelry at the counter. But whatever.

Rain Café is such a great stop for bubble tea while shopping at Family Market! The tea taste is good, with just the right level of sweetness(we ordered 75%), and the boba is soft and chewy. It's super convenient to grab a drink here while browsing the market

My go-to for a cheap and cheerful boba fix! While the quality isn't top-tier, the value is certainly S-tier. At just $3.75 each, you really can't complain. The boba itself is decent, though I've definitely had better elsewhere. But I am more of a quantity-over-quality guy, so I'd much rather pay less for "good enough" than a premium for "the best". Caveat is: I haven't tried any of their food, though the pictures look great! Would like to come here sometime to try their food as well!

2.5 rating based on their drinks - which mind you is half of the menu so def a bit disappointing. Located pretty much in the Asian Family Market, great location to stop before or after groceries in sure ! But the drinks were just not good. The mango jasmine with 30% sugar (lowest offer) was still VERY sweet. I had to ask if I got the right order, but it turns out their mango is more of a syrup and is thus super sweet. They offered to switch it out but proceeded to just pour off the top half (taking a lot of the cheese foam with it) and adding a bit more plain tea, but sadly it was still not good. My gf got the Ferrero rocher milkshake and it was watered down and had lots of chunky ice. For the price, neither drinks were worth it. But may go back to try food sometime do I can update the review!!!

Boba is good here. I got their sushi burrito which is decent and has lots of filling and refreshing lettuce. Garlic fries look underwhelming but it is actually crispy and flavorful, I use ketchup to stick on the fries better. This is a chill boba spot to do work or study and is spacious.

I know rain cafe is great for hanging out with friends. The ambience and atmosphere are great for that. I finally decided to give it a shot after getting my hair done next door yesterday. The mince pork rice bowl was really... subpar. It's not authentic Taiwanese style if that's what you are looking for. The service was good though the hirls working behind the desk are really nice! I would not come back for food but maybe if i need a place for chilling, hangout with friends, or getting some work done i will get a bubbletea here.

Tea was ok. Just annoyed about the pricing listing - they have 2 different prices (one on the TV and one with stickers on a menu at the counter). "The real price" is much higher than the listed price on the TV. A Taro milk tea was $1.30 more than the listed price on the TV. I asked if they would honor the price they listed on the TV but he said no. I believe typical good business practice is you should honor the lowest price listed but guess not here. It's disingenuous to have such low prices listed where everyone can see and raise the price only at the counter. Please update your TV prices (I get it, it's inflation. But update the postings).

I visit there yesterday and I ordered a green milk tea. First the tea was not full and second if you ask for no ice you have to pay extra. What the hell! Since when you have pay extra for no ice. When u order something make sure ask them fill up cause mine wasn't. It was terrible. read more

Ordered an Avocado Smoothie through uber eats and it arrived brown and tasted rotten. Threw away immediately! Also ordered an Italian Soda and it arrived with super syrup sweet and w/o the cream. Really wanted to like this place! :( read more

I Used to come here a lot. They seem to always get my order wrong and the drinks are inconsistent. One day the drinks are too sweet or too bitter. Today I got a sushi burrito without the spicy mayo, and when I got home I saw it had the spicy mayo all over. I couldn't go back and return it so I was pissed and had to scrub it off with a paper towel. The bubble tea I got was so sweet it made me feel sick and I had to throw it away. I am really angry about wasting my money. They told me it didn't have any spicy mayo on it when I picked up my order and I didn't have time to open up the box. read more

I created a yelp account just to review this establishment. This place is horrible. I asked for no ice in my bubble tea and they definitely added water to the tea. The tea is watered down and tasted horrible, not to mention they charge 50 cents for no ice yet still deliver a watered down product. I also ordered the minced pork rice bowl, which they definitely microwaved. There was a puddle of water at the bottom of the bowl and the rice and pork were both soggy. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is because if you order foods that can not be microwaved and don't order your tea with no ice you get a good product. Otherwise beware of what you order. read more

I came here with a friend, and overall it seems like a good space with lots of tables to study if you're a student. The food was just okay and wasn't a strong point. The popcorn chicken was cut into excessively small pieces (compared to other boba places in Seattle). There wasn't much chicken at all, a really high breading to chicken ratio. I also got their curry katsu plate. The curry was good and the katsu was crispy. Unfortunately I found a small piece of aluminum foil in my shredded cabbage that I bit on and spit out. For a big plate of curry, the tablespoon of cabbage was also pretty sparse. Additionally, I was perplexed by a sign that asks customers to clean their tables. I've seen places ask customers to bus their own tables, but I didn't know customers were supposed to clean their tables too. Sort of unusual. All in all, if you're looking for some boba and a place to study, this place is fine. If you're looking for yummy food? I'm not so certain. read more

Food was good. I didn't like that our order came out at different times. My husband and I ordered the Gyudon beef bowl, that came out quick but my son ordered the beef ramen and that came out almost 10 minutes after ours did. All the booths along the well were all full with the exception of 1, which had cups and napkins on it. I asked if they can clear it so we can sit there but they said it was for the employees? Not happy with this first visit, don't think I will be returning. read more

My experience to the cafe has always been a great one. The place is comfy to hang out with friends on weekdays and weekends. One of the waitresses Zabrina is so friendly and hard working. She smiles a lot to the customers & her service is undoubtedly excellent and super speedy. read more

Good customer service they checked up on us to see if we needed anything and gave us free fries and a dessert to try(1 star), excellent food the desert was a baked bread with ice cream the bread was lightly sweet and stayed crunchy even after being soaked in ice cream the bubble tea was natural without the powder(1 star), the decor was ok music was just the right volume a lot of room too(1 star), Ok pricing (1 star), Great place for yourself or with friends (1 star), all in all everything is great here great people, great price, great looking place, this is definitely a local secret at least for me. This place has a lot of potential. I recommend this place for all people and I will definitely be coming back read more

Studied for my board exams here and on my last one, I was so frazzled I screwed up my drink order: default is whole milk, but I can't drink milk! So I usually ask for alternatives (preference is hemp).They replaced it: a soy honey lavender as they had just run out of the jasmine green tea. Turned out the calming effects of the lavender were just what I needed pre-exam. Thanks, folks- you helped make my day a little better. read more

The first time we came here we were pretty impressed by their customer service and the menu they had to offer. We decided to come here a second time on NYE. Because we knew it was NYE, we figured that the place might have different holiday hours. My friend decided to call and the woman who answered said that the place would close at 10pm. We decided to go and arrived at the place at 8:30pm. When we walked up to the counter to order the lady upfront told us that they were going to close soon at 9pm...we were all confused and told her that we were told otherwise. She said "well we decided to close at 9pm because there are not enough customers in here anyways and it is also New Year's Eve...." Okay, then why did you tell us something else?? So we decided to just get drinks to-go but we weren't even able to get them either because they were already cleaning. They said they coud only serve us desserts from the fridge. Who cleans 30 mins before closing though? I mean are you really in a hurry to get off work? Sucks because we were also travelling all the way from Burien just to come here and this place let us down. read more

Modern, casual, fast, this place really exceeded all expectations. Came here with the girlfriend to eat before shopping at the market. We shared pork rice bowl, popcorn chicken and house salad. Food is decent. the previous owner was amazing and took care of the customers creating a welcoming environment. this new owner has been nothing but disrespectful. I have been a regular here since they opened. Today i was here for 3 hours studying. i ordered food twice and i bussed my own table like they ask us to. 10 minutes after i clean my table to make space since I'm studying, the owner came up to me and said " you have to order something before you sit down" I have been here almost every day for the past year and even ordered from him at the register and yet he still has the audacity to try and kick me out because i don't have any food in front of me. I have never felt so disrespected in a place ever. Nor have a never been kicked out of a place but to get kicked out of a place that i am a regular at because the owner wants to create space for new customers because to him a couple dollars is more important than keeping loyal customers. This isn't the only cafe in seattle. I advice everyone to go elsewhere. i only come here to support local businesses rather than big franchise like Starbucks. But there are more local cafes like Miir, cafe solstice, zoka to name a few. read more

The place is Very clean. You have to try Nick's Espresso Milk Tea and Double Double, excellent choices! Love the house made pudding. Staff is nice and friendly. Ramen burger is different but a nice spin on the burger, worth trying if you are hungry. Once you try their menu, you will become a regular! read more

Three stars for slow slow slow service waited 30mins for a basket of fries. Waiter asked what i was waitinf for. I said fries. Ahe said sorry theyre making it now..... Really after 30mins??? Good food and atmosphere.. one thing for sure is that its pretty damn expensive. im not a rich korean or chinese boy. just a plain white american boy. ive been here two times dont think ill go back since its a drive and pretty pricy $$$$$$ read more

Excellent bubble tea. A little different flavors, but they've all been great so far. The double double is my favorite. A bonus that you can choose the sweetness. The sweet potato fries are on point. It takes them a while to make them since they are handmade but well worth the wait! read more

Again, no water refills, with 5 wait staff working (actually not working, just socializing) we had to call for more water. The waiter apologized twice that it was taking a long time to get two salads out. A restaurant's biggest expense is labor, health care benefits, and food costs. Instead of 5 wait staff, not working and only five customers, it baffles me how they can afford to have workers doing absolutely nothing. I managed a restaurant, I would have dismissed four waiters because there was zero business. If it did get busy, I would have stepped into assist. There needs to be more efficiency, with 5 customers and five wait staff, they are only making their hourly wages. The food was good, as we left they apologized again because they knew it wasn't right that we had to wait so long, I looked at them, four sitting at a table enjoying their employee meal.

After hearing about this cafe for a while now, I decided it was time to try it out! I came to the Aurora location and ordered a taro milk tea (50% sweetness with boba) and their minced pork bowl. Expect the prices of the main entrees being $8-12, and the drinks will be about $2-6 (depending on how much toppings/alt milk you want). Anyways, after trying the food, I definitely found it to be very yummy and a great pick-me-up for studying and something easy for students! Honestly it is kind of on the noisier side, seeing how many high schoolers come here in large groups :/ The wifi is definitely slow, but it works okay for the amount of people using it at once. I think the rice bowl could have been a bit more hot and more moist if that makes sense? It was a bit dry and lacked a bit of flavor, but all in all, it was an easy meal that was quite filling for me. I am not a sweet tooth, so I usually order my boba with 50% sweetness, but the taro milk tea was quite sweet even though it had less sweetness. I think this place is good for studying and anyone who craves asian food! I do want ti try the unagi don, so maybe next time I'll post an updated review on it. read more

SO GOOD! I ordered the rainbow sushi burrito. So flavorful, and it was in two halves, which is a lot of sushi for the price when you think about it. (I would suggest you order spicy mayo on the side to dip since it's only drizzled on the top.) I also had a strawberry lemonade soda, you can even choose the amount of sweetness in your beverage. I ordered on Uber eats, and my food arrived in perfect condition. I will definitely order again, and I look forward to visiting the restaurant in the future! read more

Really nice boba tea, some fruits tea and smoothies (flesh fruits indeed than other places i've been to in the city)... Rain milk tea & rain avacodo smoothie is the best... They have snack like takoyaki & ramen burger best in the town.. Drinks, food, vibes are awesome... One of the best places to study and work in the Shoreline area. They have free wifi, food & drinks and lots of space. It usually starts getting packed around 2pm on the weekends, but if you come around noon, it's pretty empty. I usually get the Matcha Milk Tea or Passion Fruit Black Tea with less sugar since drinks are on the sweeter side. Popcorn Chicken (Lemon Pepper) is a good too! read more
