The owner was super helpful when I was looking on Yelp. My water softener went out - which is what came with the house when I purchased it. I'd say it did really good for 20 plus years lol. Anyway - Mike texted and helped me out my water softener on by pass. One of his employees checked in a few days later to assess it and recommended a few water softener units that best suited my family. My water softener that was almost 10 years old was leaking, and wanted to replace it. Rain Water of Las Vegas was straight forward and didn't need to show up with a sport coat and flashy presentation as other companies did. I was provided a quote for exactly what I needed, with a more efficient system than I had before and was offered a great price and immediate availability. The old one piece system was hauled away and they even moved the new system closer to the wall and about a foot further up so that I can safely park in the garage without almost hitting the system with the car, which was an issue with the old system. Today Sean came to install our water softener/conditioner & alkaline reverse osmosis system. Sean communicated well & assured us if we had any questions or issues we could call him at any time - well unfortunately around 7pm we noticed some issues with our water pressure / sediment coming out of the faucets. We contacted Sean and right away he stopped what he was doing to help us trouble shoot the issue - after trouble shooting didn't work Sean was able to determine that we had a faulty system that was missing a filter. Instead of letting us know the office was closed and someone would help us tomorrow Sean made the drive to us (45min) and fixed our issue and replaced our system. We are relatively new to the Las Vegas area and I have never owned a water softener. Frankly I didn't know what it did! Even though we use RO for drinking water, I wanted a whole-home system with charcoal filtering, to remove chlorine and chemicals (that are now concerning for skin & lung health issues while showering). In January, Joe came to install my reverse osmosis water purification system after the old one needed to be replaced. He talked me through all of my options and the differences, showed me how to make sure my unit was working well, and answered all of the questions I had. He installed it quickly and everything was working perfectly. So of course, I called Rain Water Conditioning again when our water softener started to leak. Shawn arrived on time and he showed me all of the issues causing the leak and the damage that it was causing. He gave me choices in replacing or repairing the unit. Ultimately, I decided to replace our unit and he showed me choices for units and asked me questions to help make an informed decision. I sort of knew that it was time to replace our unit and had done some research beforehand and he recommended two units that were exactly what I was expecting. He didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need and was honest as I asked questions. Once I picked the unit, he installed it (in much better condition than the previous one) within an hour and left the space cleaner than before. Yesterday Kyle showed up on schedule to do the service on my reverse osmosis system. He first tested my water softener system then my kitchen water and the RO output. He then explained to me that my systems were working properly and I just required filters to be replaced. He advised me that the RO membrane was working properly and did not require replacement. After replacing the 4 filters and checking the pressure in the water tank he told me to let it fill for about an hour and drain the system and I will be good for another year. He took all the old parts and left the area he worked on clean and dry. Kyle definitely provided excellent service for a reasonable price. read more

I had a lot of mineral buildup on the faucets, so I had two companies come out and talk about their systems. Their water analysis showed a lot of dissolved solids in the water. I was quoted over $7,000 from one of them. The other's quote started in the same area but after discounts the price came down to around $5,000. And when that one called later, he said his boss approved a further discount and it would be closer to $4,000. But I wasn't sold on these systems yet. I had also been interested in a $4,000 system I saw that I could buy online. I had two different plumbers come out and talk about it. I got their quotes of around $1400 to install the system. Each of them also talked about a system that their company recommended, but one of them wasn't even sure whether it was salt-based or not, so right away that guy was eliminated. The other guy seemed to have showered in cologne to cover up some really bad body odor, and I couldn't wait for him to leave! And then I called up Rain of Las Vegas (rainwaterlv.com). The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. She contacted Shawn who was finishing up on a job. My house was on the way home for him, so he came to see us the same day. This company doesn't send out a professional sales person to impress you with a book of pretty pictures. He just came and told us about a system that would work for us. He has lived and worked in Las Vegas for decades and knows the water and the plumbing. He mentioned things that nobody else had. For instance, putting a treatment system in the garage would likely NOT treat the cold water line in the kitchen because it is usually plumbed to come straight from the city supply, just as the outside faucets are. (I researched this later and found this explanation: soft water is great for the pipes, fixtures, and hair and skin, but it's not recommended for drinking. The reason is the minerals and particles have been removed from it and it is likely to pick up any contaminants in the plumbing. The reverse osmosis system is designed to provide pure water in the kitchen for drinking and cooking. And the outside faucets still deliver hard water which plants prefer; they respond better to water that has the extra minerals in it.) So besides the big system in the garage, he also recommended a reverse osmosis system for under the sink to provide the best drinking/cooking water. He also offered to hook up my refrigerator's water dispenser and ice maker at the same time for no charge, since as he said, "I'm going to be down there anyway, so it's nothing to hook it up!" He quoted the entire job at $3090, which was much cheaper than any of the others. The price was definitely a big consideration, but also the whole visit with Shawn was what sold us. He struck us as a totally honest guy who wasn't just trying to sell us something so he could get a commission (which he doesn't, by the way, he's on salary). We appreciated how well he answered our questions and at last we both felt we had found the right company and the right system for us. We took a day to think about it and then I called to schedule the installation. Again the nice lady who answers their phone was helpful and we got the appointment set up. On the scheduled day Shawn texted to let us know when he was on the way, and then showed up as expected at 2:45. Two and a half hours later he was done and on his way! No muss, no fuss. He explained how to use the bypass controls on the system in the garage and about salt refills, and since I asked, he explained the plumbing details under the sink. He also got the refrigerator all connected and let us know that we never need to change the fridge's water filter since the reverse osmosis system is now supplying pure water to it. There were no surprises on the bill and he clearly explained how the system needed to cycle through a couple times and then the water would be great from then on. A day later he called to make sure things were going ok. I couldn't ask for a better experience than what we had with Shawn. Final Notes A Week After Install: - The bypass controls on the filter system can also be used as a shutoff to stop water flow into the house. Using this, it was easy to see that the outside faucets were still getting water from the county, and so was the cold water supply in the kitchen. So the reverse osmosis system was definitely needed to get pure water for drinking and cooking. It was also easy to verify that all the other faucets inside the house, hot and cold, are getting soft water from the system. - I bought a water test kit that checked 17 factors. Everything tested pure and showed a huge improvement in dissolved solids in the water, so I'm confident we won't see any more of the crusty buildup on our faucets. - Showering feels better now, the water feels silky smooth. read more

He was very informative and helpful about our softener since we don't know much of anything about it ( originally from the Midwest & had them install the new unit on arrival to the Vegas area). He showed me some info on the " tower" and suggested how we get better use from it. Recent transplant from California (surprise, surprise) and was told by my realtor it was essential to have a water softener system installed out here. Went to Yelp and found Rain was the #1 listed. Met with the owner at their shop and he walked me through everything. Made an appointment to have both the water softener system and reverse osmosis system installed a few weeks prior to moving in. Wyatt came out and did a wonderful job. Super friendly and knowledgeable. He graciously worked around a number of other installs I had going on simultaneously. Two things to note, the reverse osmosis system includes a faucet but the style may not match with your existing hardware. They offer chrome or brushed but the design was a bit gaudy. So you may want to purchase one elsewhere if you are particular. I will reinstall one that looks better with my set-up. Second thing is I had another LV Soft Water company come by later that day, trying to sell me their services. I declined of course and they had asked how much Rain charged. After telling him, he said, "Yeah, we can't beat that." So trust that you are going with the right company here! read more
