I'm 74 years old and my Carrier system was 8 years old and they convinced me that it needed replacing, their maintenance employee arrived and he estimated the repairs to be nearly 6,500.00. In retrospect I now realize that this was a well rehearsed scam. They charged me 13,200.00 for a 2 ton basic Rudd system which is not a fair price, it should have been about 1,500 less. Then the icing on the cake was I received a deferred interest loan with no other financing options mentioned. I no longer trust this company, they're taking advantage of Senior citizens. read more

Missing jewelry! My custom permanent yellow gold bracelet with a heart and star turned up missing. It was placed together with two rings and another bracelet all positioned side by side in a secure visible location on a glass table next where I was sitting and next to the area being worked on. While the workers were there I called to their attention that there was still an open hole. I was told repeatedly there was no open hole in my attic that they made. So I went in my attic to take pictures. It was a significant amount of time that I was not monitoring what was going on inside the house and I left my jewelry unattended ( almost 30 minutes based on texts and photos). I personally had to climb thru my attic to get proof of the corners they cut. They tried to get away with not doing all work listed on my invoice. They even rewrote contract instead of removing and discarding all old cpvc pipe. It took multiple attempts to get a receipt for moen warranty. I paid them thousands of dollars ( why didn't they know moen requires model numbers on receipt when they use moen products)? Definitely want to point out - because my jewelry is "missing" and "they weren't caught in the act on a camera" (I wanted to make sure I was registered with manufacture not them)- And thats when I found out they don't issue receipts needed for warranty? Just imagine if they didn't do things listed on the invoice and would rather reword contract instead of doing all the work- I have no idea what other things didn't get done. For example tub shower has copper pipe for the tub spout. I didn't see any welding. Hmmm makes me wonder. I definitely don't have peace of mind. And they are not honoring the Consumer Review Fairness Act. I did not have a good experience with this company and their lawyer says there can be no negative comments posted about them. This review is long overdue. In October of last year, our upstairs AC unit stopped operating. We hired them to investigate and fix the problem. The brought a technician for a fee and he explained that the circuit board went out and a new one was needed. I told them to go ahead and fix it. They brought a repair person on a Friday to fix it, who spent almost a whole work day to get it resolved. It was a ripoff at over $1500 for the fix. The repair person also had trouble removing the blades, so he replaced it at no charge. After many hours, it started working again and the house started cooling. Case closed and a happy ending, right? WRONG!!! After I came back from a concert during the same day, I noticed that the unit stopped working again and I also smelled smoke. Turned out the thermostat was smoking. I tried turning off the thermostat and immediately sparks flew out. I called late at night out of panic (as they have an emergency line), but nobody answered. I left a voice mail, but never heard back until the next day. I had to switch off the circuit breaker. The finally called the next day and brought a technician to see what's the problem. He came and said the thermostat got broken and it would be over $300 to replace it! They didn't even look at the unit outdoors! I told them that was unacceptable and they need to really look what was the issue and fix it! He refused! I tried calling the office, but got ghosted. I was out over 1500 dollars with a fried thermostat and non working unit. I had another AC company investigate further at what happened. It turned out that the repair person at Rainaldi tried to connect a high voltage wire to something meant for lower voltage, frying everything connected. It meant I had to get the AC replaced! I was furious! Not only did they charge me over 1500 for a fix that didn't work, but they refused any responsibility for frying the unit! Either the repair person was inexperienced, or they maliciously did it to try to get me to buy a new one from them. If I didn't come back home sooner and noticed the smoking thermostat, the house could have caught on fire! Thankfully my payment company was able to resolve the charges. Because of their dishonesty and ripping me off, they unfortunately get my first one star review. It's a shame because we used them before and they used to be ok, but now they decided to try to squeeze every part of my money they can without fixing anything. We have an old house and as mentioned before on Yelp! we have had great experiences and terrible experiences. This time we had a fantastic experience. Hunter explained the work, was knowledgable and very friendly, plus, he gave us a competitive bid. The work was completed just as explained. The workers were skilled and focused. When there was a little bobble a month later they promptly came back under the warranty and got it straight, even though it probably didn't have to do with their work. I would not commend this company .I had a slow leak from a cold water spigot for a washer I feel like I was ripped off. He charged me $387 to re[;ace the leaking spigot and also the not leaking one, which took him all of fifteen minutes. I requested a receipt which he would not give me. My elderly family member lives in a modular home and each company said they would need to dig a 6ft trench to even look at the problem and told it would be in the thousands to even look. Well, in comes RAINALDI, the tech found that the boot had fallen off the initial point of contact with the ducts. He was running tests and when he found the issue, he fixed it and that was that. No trench dug. Rainaldi saved us thousands of dollars and was willing to actually take time and look around. Other businesses, including one recommended by DUKE, refused to even try. Called these guys to replace a toilet valve and flapper. The $40 up-front was OK. They came out and the on-site estimate began with replacing the entire toilet at $1500, and two other offers to replace the toilet with less expensive options, which were around $1200, and $900. Finally, the cost for the work I originally wanted, replacing a toilet valve and flapper was well over $385. There is more but I'm over them. read more

I needed a simple repair, and I needed it in a hurry, so I could not do it myself. Rainaldi sent out a technician the day after I called and communicated well with me during that process. The technician (Joshua) was professional and personable. I enjoyed speaking with him. The service was performed quickly. Yes, it was expensive, but it was no more expensive than other licensed and insured plumbers I have used. Could I have done the work myself? Yes, if I had had the time, which I did not. I've seen a lot of negative reviews about Rainaldi based on price alone. That is not a fair basis for a one star review. Rainaldi does not coerce customers to buy its services. If we choose to pay for the service, we do so knowing what the cost will be. Professional services of any kind are expensive. I'll call Rainaldi again if I need help in a pinch. read more

I thought they were great originally and even gave a favorable review, however that was BEFORE they stopped following up and finishing the job appropriately. Be careful!! One star is generous. I scheduled routine maintenance with Rainaldi after receiving a half-off offer during their off-season. My system had been checked just a few weeks earlier and everything was working perfectly, but I decided to take advantage of the promotion. The air worked great before the maintenance. However, after Rainaldi's visit, the air conditioner suddenly stopped blowing cold air. When I contacted them about the issue, they offered to schedule another service visit--but not until the following week. With indoor temperatures climbing to 80 degrees, I hired a different company, who found that all the Freon had somehow disappeared from my unit. Not some, all. And there were no signs of leaks. It cost me $1,400 to refill. Based on this experience, I'd urge caution before scheduling "routine maintenance" with this company. I scheduled a repair a few days ago and an individual named Shannon arrived. He had a poor attitude and was asking me questions regarding the AC repair. I finally stated, "sir I have no ideas as the reasons I called your company for help". He then snapped the handle off of my damper and stated, "this is no big deal". I then noticed he removed the cover off of another AC part and the cover is now missing. There are wires everywhere. I called Rainaldi management twice to discuss the issue but no response. The visit was $167 and they wanted to charge me $550 to install a new damper (that I needed to buy on Amazon). I was/am disappointed in the level of service at all levels. However, the cost of having the new garbage disposal installed was pretty high in my opinion- over $300. Maybe shop around next time. Recently we had a severe plumbing backup in our new home. We contacted Rainaldi as we had used them before and were happy with our prior experience. They immediately understood our need and dispatched two wonderful men who came, checked our outside pipe and tried to clear it out. The drain started working again but they advised us that their camera showed a broken pipe that needed to be replaced. We saw the photos and agreed. They told us that they would bring a crew in three days and told us that if the clog happened again before then, that they would be available 24 hours a day to come and open it. Wow, who does that. Anyway, we had no further problem and they came and replaced the pipe. The broken pipe, filled with tree roots, definitely told us that it was a good decision to replace it. Four men worked for 1 - 1/2 hours to remove the old pipe and replace it with a new one. It was amazing to watch them and the care they exhibited when working on our property. The price they quoted for the work was reasonable and we felt it was a great value. We highly recommend Rainaldi for any plumbing problems. read more

Called Rainaldi to fix a home air conditioning system that was not cooling. The technician was pleasant and competent. He isolated the problem to a dual starting capacitor in the outdoor unit. When it was replaced, the system worked flawlessly. Only problem is that I was charged $292.71 for the capacitor. Looked it up on Amazon and it was $14.00! That's a 2000 percent markup! I see that as no more than pure, unbridled greed on the part of Rainalodi. Unfortunately, I believe that most similar companies collude on their markups and this is probably typical! You are looking for "RINALDI" not this "RAINALDI" I've never worked with a worse contractor. Even management agreed we were charged too much and refused to work it out. Advertised a $39 diagnosis of broken water heater. Technician arrived and spent 1 hour on site then told us we needed to order a new heating element. Next thing we know, my mom is charged $424. That's an over 900% price hike from what's advertised with no notice of price increase which is actually illegal in the state of Florida. Not only did the technician not do anything other than inspect, but he left the currently installed heating elements loose causing a pressure leak in the garage. A month ago, I spoke to Dale and he agreed it was a bad situation and the charge was too much but has since avoided our calls and emails while refusing to refund any amount. Thank God I recorded all the calls with these people and have security video of the tech in the house to use in small claims court. Avoid at all costs! read more

I called on a Monday to schedule an appointment for the following Wednesday, and explained the whole history of the complex HVAC issue in my house and the terrible luck and results I'd had with previous HVAC companies. They asked me what time I preferred and I said morning, so that's what they put me down for. I waited all day at my house (where I can't even live because of the issue) and they never showed up.
