If you didn't know what was inside, you'd never guess it based on the outside and the name, but it's a seriously cool vibe inside with a lot of rock history that's walked through these doors. Just a great layout and vibe, good music and very friendly and attentive staff. Drinks are tasty and cold, food was very good and they gave a decently large menu with fair prices. I'm sure the evenings after nearby shows let out that this place is rocking.

Good times at this hidden little gem....

If you're looking for something that really resembles what old Hollywood (not classy nor glamorous) but biker-ish, rockstar-ish, Ozzy Osborne-ish, bad-ass-ish:, heavy metal-ish, and dress however you want, but a feel of old school sunset boulevard, and non-pretentious establishment whatsoever, this it. It's a dingy and dark place (respectfully) with stiff drinks and surprisingly good food. One server with a poor attitude while the rest were super cool! (The bad apple exists everywhere) The chicken piccata was AMAZING! Their homemade meatballs; WOW. Crispy Prosecco. Yes, they serve Prosecco! The strawberry fields cocktail became the MVP of the night. Clean bathrooms. A lot of bars within to choose from. A patio for smokers. I'm not one, but yeah... Oh- the chocolate cake- WOWZERS I wish I would've have come before. It was my first time and definitely not my last. Celebrated a birthday and the bday girl asked we met here. I love my daughter, so I showed up. Far from my home but happy to report it was worth the drive. Happy birthday to every Scorpio out there!

Was staying at the edition hotel, and this was one of the few nearby restaurants. Definitely not your typical LA restaurant, and far more grungy than I expected. Service was alright, but our food took FOREVER to come out. I tried the chicken parm sandwich and the Philly cheesesteak. Neither were great, just past a passable level.

I've been coming to The Rainbow since the 90s. It's such a nostalgic vibe! I was so excited that I could bring my son to experience it. The food is always amazing and I'm kicking myself for not posting this review earlier because we had the most amazing server and I've forgotten her name. Maybe, Megan? She brought my son extra bread, extra butter, and just paid so much attention to him. Such a great experience!!

I have been coming here for 40 years- and the place has not changed one bit- thankfully! I have so many great memories here, meeting with friends, seeing rock stars, some incredible meals- this place checks all of the boxes- and if you have never been here- I highly suggest coming and taking in all the history and the vibe! You can either go to the bars (both inside and out), or have the hostess take you to one of the booths, where you can imagine all the celebrities who have sat there and held court. While the ambiance is great, the food is spectacular, whether you have a pizza or a steak- and I can attest that the Rainbow has some of the best steaks in all of Hollywood! I highly suggest walking around looking at all the photos and memorabilia which adorned these walls for decades. Make sure you go upstairs and check out the spaces there as well. And if you're lucky, you might catch a rock star or another celebrity casually having a meal with friends. While it is not as wild and crazy as it was in the old days, it still has a vibe that you can feel. Enjoy it, and your dinner, you won't be disappointed...

This place is... fine. I guess. I haven't been to the Sunset Strip in forever, so I figured I'd ease back in with something simple: one Blue Moon. Total damage: $14.32. For one beer. I genuinely thought they were trying to sell me partial ownership of the bar. At that price, I was waiting for the bartender to hand me the pint, the deed, and maybe a commemorative T‑shirt. Look, the vibe is cool, the history is legendary, and it's fun to say "I had a drink at the Rainbow." But $14.32 for a Blue Moon? That's not a drink, that's a hostage situation. Would I come back? Maybe. But next time I'm pregaming somewhere my wallet doesn't cry, and then I'll come here just to look at the menu like it's a museum exhibit titled: "Prices That Hurt."

Coolest place in Hollywood! Food is good music is good, everyone that works there is friendly, especially the green haired bartender lady who chased me & my buddy for half a block to give him his sunglasses that he left behind!!! YOU ROCK

Deliciousness all around as my group walked down the street from Whisky A Go Go to have dinner together and they seated us immediately with a smile and gave us ample time to decide what to devour. The walls were decked out with rock stars and memorabilia from all eras!! It was exciting to see who'd been here before and who's considered rockstar royalty!! As our plates were being delivered to the table we couldn't wait to see what each other's choices looked like. We had burgers, sandwiches, spaghetti and meatballs, salads, soups, Chicken Parmigiana, Tiramisu, and Apple Pie. We had a blast tonight. Thank you Rainbow Bar & Grill and Brooke for your awesome service!!

Rainbow Bar and Grill had all the hype and the food was good too. I highly recommend going in and walking through time. For rock n roll enthusiasts - this is your place. The service is friendly and attentive. The staff will come over but they aren't overly in your face. It's casual and the vibe is of course all themed with music from decades ago. It was a eventful and memorable experience.

Since I never watch that kind of 'stuff', that connection meant nothing to me. However, now that it's been sold to the purveyors of a successful Venice bar lounge, Roosterfish moved up quickly on our gaydar for a visit during PRIDE weekend. It was upbeat and loud but surprisingly not off-putting. That has a lot to do with the century-old Mediterranean olive trees in the massive open-air courtyard in the middle. Even wrapped in colorful fairy lights, the trees breathe life into the space even with a huge disco ball hanging from the canopy. The dance floor was fairly crowded and pulsating like crazy, but the surrounding tables weren't as coveted. There were plenty of bartenders during PRIDE, so there was no wait for drink orders. It had Tequila, Yuzu, Lychee, Passionfruit, topped with a Hibiscus Mezcal Float and a piece of Rainbow Sour Candy. It was refreshing, delicious, and absolutely gorgeous! 2) the Cosmopolitan: made with Grey Goose Vodka, Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao, and cranberry. It was pretty tasty, not exactly like a traditional Cosmo and had a bit of a bite to it, but good enough that I got two. My friend and I shared the guacamole which was a pretty decently sized portion and came with a big basket of chips. We also got the Weho Choco Tacos and they were delectable! It's a bit pricey with drinks ranging from $22-$26, but that's to be expected in Weho and especially on Sunset Boulevard. Just something to keep in mind. The crowd was also so nice! We made friends with the couple sitting next to us and watched the end of the NBA finals together on one of their phones. I also met some nice girls in the bathroom and we had a long conversation about the best clothes to pack for a trip to Europe. Everyone was there to have a good time and it showed!

We easily found a place to sit on the shaded outdoor dining area, all the time people were going inside the adjacent dining and dancing area for one of the Abbey's famous drag shows. I ordered the guacamole bacon cheeseburger with fries and my guest had the Philly Cheesesteak. My burger was cooked perfectly and looked great. The fries were fair, nothing to write home about. My guest loved his Philly Cheesesteak and it brought memories of the last time he ordered one more than a decade earlier. It's only fair that I mention the conduct of one of thr employees who appears to be a host. There was an ethnic couple (probably middle eastern) siting at the table next to us, dining and enjoying their meal, when this employee approached them and singled them out because of their ethnicity. He fawned all over them, loudly, apparently trying to be welcoming, all the while addressing them as "you people" and "we are open to people like you dropping in for a gold time." While he clearly wanted to be nice, he came off as condescending and racists and was very annoying to my guest and me and people at another table who muttered "what an idiot." On the positive sign the middle eastern couple didn't appear to be annoyed but, still, that's not the way first time guests should be addressed. We dropped in on the drag show after lunch but all seats were taken so we decided not to stand in the corner and watch. Getting smart, especially a good seat means arriving about an hour before the show. Today's show began at 1:30 pm. There are nearby parking lots, pricy and neighborhood parking if one can tolerate a moderate walk. The Abbey is an ice place to go, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Unfortunately, the bartender was rude and dismissive, so I chose not to leave a tip. I closed my tab immediately, signed the receipt, left the tip line blank, and kept both copies of the receipt. My Cash App card was originally charged $15 that night, but the following day the transaction changed to $16. I did not authorize an additional $1 tip or charge. It's only a dollar, but that isn't the point. Customers should be able to trust that the amount they authorize on a receipt is the amount they are actually charged. Between the bartender's attitude and the unexplained additional charge, this was a very disappointing experience. I've kept my receipts and will be disputing the difference if it isn't corrected.
