I really wanted to like this place because it's right next to my nail salon. My favorite dish was the salt and pepper fried fish. We also got the war wonton soup and it was good but I've had better. I was really looking forward to the beef chow fun dry but it seriously had no flavor. I called an hour ahead and said that I needed my food ready in an hour. When I got there my food wasn't done. And there were only two tables being served in the restaurant. So it's not like they were busy. I was disappointed that I had to wait another 10 minutes even though I had called so early. I really want to give this place another try. But there are also so many other places in my neighborhood that I would like to experience so I'm not sure if I will be back. read more

When we tried Rainbow Kitchen out, 95% of the customers were Asian. We saw this as a good sign. Their servings were good sized. The shrimp balls were big and freshly fried. They don't precook their dimsum and push them in carts. The servers were all friendly and made sure to check on our table frequently. read more

Randomly picked this Chinese restaurant. It was the closest thing to authentic Chinese cooking close to my work than a trip to Chinatown. I don't know much between Cantonese, Sichuan, Jiangsu, Shandong, Hunan Chinese cuisine. I guess this is a Cantonese restaurant based on other reviews. They start you off with a floral, aromatic tea which I love! We ordered several entrees like tofu and seafood in a clay pot, Chinese broccoli, fried pork, and fried flounder fish. Tofu and seafood clay pot dish had strong smell of Chinese spices in it that was similar to the broccoli dish. The sauce was obviously thickened with cornstarch ( not a fan) although everything was not salty. It was just right. I enjoyed the Chinese broccoli dish. It was light and simple and it tasted good but the slight smell of that "spice" again was hovering over my plate. lol. The fried pork batter was light and perfectly fried but more fat than the actual meat. I left more fat on my plate. The fried flounder was pretty good. Fried in light batter,the fish was moist and seasoned right. Service was good. Our server was really nice and friendly. I would fairly say, it was great to actually have a taste of Cantonese cuisine but I'm going back to Chinatown to discover the next Chinese restaurant. read more

If I can give 0 star, I would. I came here on 12/24 around 6:30 PM. It was a busy time, but not super packed. I was finally seated after talking to 3 staff. The waitress did warn me that it would take 30 mins for the food to come out, so I was prepared. I only ordered 2 dishes, a shrimp lobster sauce and the 8 treasure tofu. It took about 35 mins for the shrimp lobster sauce to come up. The taste was somewhat bland, a bit too watery to my preference, and the green bell peppers were barely cooked. I waited another 25mins, the tofu dish still did not show up. I talked to 2 other staff and told them that t he tables after me already got all the dishes but mine is still not shown up yet, and the second staff just said she's not sure, and added that if I got problem, I gota go talk to the manager. NGL, that attitude really agitated me a bit at that moment. I then talked to the manager, aka the 3rd staff, she just said oh we forgot to put your order in, you gota wait a while, sorry, computer was not working properly. I told her this is not acceptable you made me wait an hour cuz of this and you did not say anything. She said oh sorry so what you want? I just told her ima leave then this is ridiculous, so she started yelling to the kitchen to cancel my order and handed me a check, with a sanitzing fee and no compensation. She verbally apologized 2 more times, and moved away from me. Food wise, the taste was not very authentic as I am a HK native and lived most of my life in LA. After searching Yelp for Chinese food to satisfy the hubs craving last night, I decided on this place based on a few 'best Chinese food in Vegas off strip' reviews, and because it was nearby our house. We arrived around 7p & were immediately seated in a booth. There were several large Chinese families enjoying dinner - I interpreted that as a good sign. With help from our server (our eyes were maybe bigger than our stomach as we really hadn't eaten a true meal all day), we settled on wonton soup (it was quite cold & windy outside), bbq pork fried rice, beef & scrambled eggs (hubs choice) & honey walnut prawns (my choice). The honey walnut prawns were perfect to me: the shrimp was large & slightly crisp with the sweet sauce, yet not drowning in it like other Chinese food restaurants. It was served with fresh, perfectly-cooked & crunchy American broccoli, & my favorite crunchy cooked walnuts. The fried rice & soup were a bit lacking in flavor, I thought. Hubs wasn't impressed with the beef scrambled eggs & opted not to take the rest home (which surprised our waiter). Service was fine & food was delivered to our table fast. Everything was clean (extremely important to this germaphobe). I would definitely try this place again but the hubs may or may not (he's not one to give 2nd chances but he also didn't order our usual favorites). We ordered crispy pork . It was pale and not crisp, Steamed spareribs with taro were bones with hardly any meat... taro was okay. We ordered baked pork buns but they came back and said they didn't have so we settled for steamed. The first one out fell apart. the next two were ok. This place used to be very good. We have been here many times as we live in the neighborhood and every time it's been getting progressively worse in regards to food and service. I recently saw them on a Munchies video highlighting off strip restaurants. The owner sounded so genuine and the food looked so good we decided to give it another chance. We arrived around 2pm on Saturday 1/7/2023. Upon seating the male server removed the chopstick setting (they set each setting with two pairs one for eating and one for taking food from the family style platters) and put forks down in the middle of the table instead (racial profiling us- we are hawaiian/Filipino we know how to use chopsticks) my fiancée told him we prefer chopsticks and he brought back disposable chopsticks instead of the nicer ones every other table was using. Ok no big deal, at least we can trust that they would be clean. Then we sat there for what felt like eternity and had to flag him down again to bring us a menu. He returned with 1 menu for the table of 4 and a dim sum paper. The menu was completely broken with pages falling out and the cover looked like someone deliberately tried to destroy it and it was sticky and covered in old food splatters. Another male server takes our beverage order - tea and water. The guy that brought menus brings the water and tea - 2 glasses of water for 4 ppl, and walks away, we see him standing on the side station talking not looking like he is returning with more waters. My dad flags him down and asks him to bring the correct amount of water. The next male server comes to take our order he is literally shouting at us in the rudest tone sounding like a villain in a king fu movie, upset that we are there giving him money for food! no eye contact, shouts the orders back, grunts and walks away. He returns with soup bowls and spoons for the table, starts slamming them on the glass lazy Susan like he is dealing out cards at poker night, grunts and walks away. The food starts coming out and everything tasted bland or old. The golden chicken was dry and over cooked, beef chow fun was tasteless and greasy, the xo scallop dumpling was good, so was the chive dumpling. The chicken feet was undercooked, the egg flower soup tasted like chicken powder and eggs..... As we are winding down one female server brings the check and another female server pulls up with a three tier busser cart and start clearing the table. She parks the cart right next to my dad and starts slamming the dirty plates in the top bus tub which is at my dads face level! First of all why clear the table like that when we haven't even paid the bill yet and second why park it right next to my dads head and third why do you need to slam the plates and silverware and water glasses?!?! Then she took my sisters plate, as she was still eating the food off of it!! It's at this point where I got really upset and asked them if they are being rude to their guests on purpose, because I see no reason why they need to treat people like this or work with such lack of care and respect. I watched these servers throughout our meal and they were rude to every table. I understand cultural differences and that Chinese restaurants are not known for service, nor do I expect great service at a Chinese restaurant. but this is excessive like they were trying to make you feel like you are inconveniencing them and you should feel grateful to be dining there. WTF. Anyways I had to say something and tell them how awful their service is. The older female server apologized and went to process my payment where I watched her talk shit about us to the lady that cleared the table and splattered my dad with table scraps. Meanwhile the staff was sitting next to us having family meal, which I suppose is why they were trying to rush us out by clearing the table before we even paid? From the visible filth, to the lacking food, to the unusually rude level of service I would 10/10nlr recommend. Go down the street to Taste or get some Chinese bbq from Win Kee. In the video the owner said he chose not to be on spring mountain because they only compete with pricing at Spring Mtn and in the suburbs he would be able to make better food and charge accordingly. I have spent lots of money in this restaurant as it's not too far from my house, even though their servers aren't that good at all. My last take out, the salt and pepper fish was not freshly fried, lukewarm, and when I lifted the foil, the white styrofoam had drops of dried blood. It was grossed! I noticed as I got close to her that her white shirt looked really dirty and dingy in the front, partially hidden by her vest as if her uniform hadn't been washed for days. With the negative experiences i have had with this restaurant, that was the last straw. I decided to leave and was very turned off. This was my first time eating Dim Sum. Let me tell you, this was one of the best meals I have EVER had!!! Everything was served with perfect timing, perfect temperature and perfect seasoning. The service was phenomenal and every was extremely friendly. I believe the owner was the one actually helping us. He was extremely gracious and helped us pick food he believed we would enjoy. First time coming here since I didn't want to drive over to Chinatown for dim sum. I live around the area so we decided to try this place out. Being Asian and being a fan of dim sum, I would say I'd pass on Dim Sum here since it's a bit pricier than Chinatown. Granted I did try 3 dim sum plates just to get my craving out of the way. I was born and raised in San Francisco and only moved to Vegas less than 6 months now. Again I've had my fair share of dim sum being from the Bay Area. 1st plate was the fried shrimp ball, which was bland. Tasted like it came from the freezer because it was watery and had lost flavor. I know what shrimp balls taste like and this was bad. This cost $5.39. 2nd plate white rice roll with shrimp. This tasted good and the shrimp was bigger than what I've had at other dim sum places. It was $6.39 for this plate. I would skip on paying this. 3rd plate was the steam spareribs with taro. This was good. This cost $4.39. We also ordered other entrees like wonton noodle soup and braised e-fu noodles. These were good. I may just order to go next time for entrees only and not dim sum. For some reason, dim sum cost more here than it did in the Bay Area. My sister's mother in law spent most of her life making dim sum so I may ask for her recipe and try to make them myself. read more

I came for the Peking duck (which was served with pancakes (!!!) and not bao) - and a big plus - I did not have to argue with anyone about it. The sweet and sour pork is also to die for. If you are fans of the OG (but no longer -- both have new owners) Food Express and KJ Kitchen, then you need to RUN to this place RIGHT NOW. Other dishes I can vouch for: clams in black beans, clams with ginger and scallions, duck fried rice (the 'second way' for the Peking duck), salt and pepper calamari, claypot eggplant, fried green beans in XO sauce, char siu, stir-fried peashoots, pan-fried crispy noodles.
