Just relocated to Fallbrook and we are looking for our new local go-to places and this is excellent. Tons of locals....friendly wait staff, big portions, fresh from-scratch food. Had the Good Earth Sandwich and it was good but I recommend the boca burger if you are veggie and want something hot instead. My group had hamburgers and chicken sandwiches and the meatloaf sandwich and they all raved about it. Their wedge fries and onion rings are delish. Will be back for breakfast soon! ETA: We come here A LOT now. Never have a bad meal. They have adventurous specials....great chef. My sis is in love with their Bloody Marys. Hiiiii angus beef teriyaki burger... ...you're my new favorite thing. 10ounce patty smothered in the delectable sauce and topped with lettuce and pineapple slices. Oh yes, and the crispy fried potato wedges were super tasty too. Menu variety was vast. Breakfast is served all day! Restaurant was super clean. Very woodsy (antler lighting fixtures, wood paneling everywhere, tree stumps as bar stools, etc.). Service was friendly and prompt (drinks were never less than halfway full). Good job team. Went last night & it was a really nice family had the owner's daughter as our waitress, learned about the history & remodel job...friendly doesn't quit say enough! Then the food came, I had the Tri-Tip dinner & it was cooked to perfection ... Melt in your mouth .... & the quantity I couldn't finish it. My husband had the small rib eye & couldn't quit telling me how full he was! The corn on the cob,could have come out a little bit earlier, but was still good quality sweet corn. When dessert was offered it was so good,best banana cream pie I've had in a long time. Then when we went outside the little grass area & RV park brought back childhood memories of a life long ago when kids playing outside could feel safe. So we decided to try this place after hearing about it a few times in one week and people asking about it as well. The atmosphere is pretty cool , what you would expect from a remote site diner. It is very loud in there if you go at a busy time , as we did. A bikers dream nestled in the twisty turvy roads if Rainbow Ca. I always try the eggs benedict at a new breakfast location. It was good but not great, the Canadian bacon was thick and chewy a little heavy for the palette. The sauce was good. Coffee was okay I did like that they have a variety of table creamers. Their hash brown was yummy, very buttery. I would recommend it, it is a bit pricey . For two breakfast and two coffees it was $31. My husband has the pancakes and he said they were good, and he knows his pancakes !!!!! read more

After venturing to Fallbrook to find a cement bird bath for my grandpa's garden, Oaks was recommended as a good place to eat. We arrived, were seated, looked over the menu, and ordered. Seat 1 (my grandpa) - Fried Chicken Special The fried chicken dinner entree is only available after 4 pm, but the daily special is available earlier for lunch. For $10.95 I thought it was kind of steep, but it came with 4 pieces of chicken (one wing, one drumstick, and two of what my grandpa called "back pieces"). My grandpa said the breading was good -- had a touch of garlic. "Just right." The sides were mashed potatoes and cole slaw. Seat 2 (my uncle) - Reuben w/ Fries On marbled rye. He said it was good. The fries were great (I stole some). Seat 3 (me) - Tuna Melt w/ Onion Rings I got cheddar instead of American and sourdough instead of whatever it came on. Then I added avocado for $2.95. They gave me a million onion rings! I got ranch to dip the onion rings and it wasn't the best ranch I've ever had, but overall the portions are generous, the service is very nice, and the quality of the food is GOOD. read more

Stumbled across this epic, Davey Crocket-esque local while out on my V-Rod a few weeks back. Love at first smell, literally, I could smell the food as we parked the bikes, and my mouth was watering by the time we got to the door. The staff are incredibly friendly to those with some road dust on them, and the food does not disappoint! I started with a Bloody Mary while we waited for the food (delicious drink and a short wait). The California Omelet with home fries on the side was way more than I could eat! But as usual, I travel with guys that are more than happy to finish my plate. I ordered the LUMBERJACK BREAKFAST -Food OMG the pancakes were sooo fluffy I was already fool with everything else on my plate but kept eating them anyway. -Price For $11 I got 3 huge pancakes, 3 eggs, 3 huge sausage link 3 huge slices of bacon strips and 2 big slices of toast which is rare to find nowadays. -Service The waitress was so friendly it actually kind of freaked me and my boyfriend out lol but in a good way. This seems to be a popular place for bikers. My crew had already been here once, but when I returned from work on the East coast we rode out to here. I had no idea this little area even exist. You can't see it from the fwy. I've been here twice and I completely love their food here. The serving portions are huge. I've tried their Ham with the bone and paid $1 more to upgrade it to pancake. It's extremely worth it. They probably have the best pancakes!!!!! I also tried their chicken fried steak.....with their house fries...YUMMY!!!! I can't wait to go back on a Wednesday night to try out their prime rib. read more

Update! Had a delicious breakfast today! Still pricey ($15 for a salmon and goat cheese scramble), and the bloodies we're great. We sat at the bar so didn't have the 20 minute wait for a table and we got our order in before the 65 bikers who had reserved the entire restaurant arrived. Once again, food was great but too crowded for a little local place to be relaxed and enjoy. I know, it's a business, but it's in rainbow. Prime rib special night at the rainbow Oakes cafe. It's like a side of beef on your plate. It cooked perfect (medium rare) and two of us split it but when we asked if it was possible to get the prime rib blackened, he just sent out a little cup of blacken seasoning. Huh? read more

Make sure you read the menu before your children order, if they are older than 10 years old they will be charged as adults! A regular price kids meal at Rainbow oaks is $5.95, they have an age limit for kids meals. If your kids are older than 10 years old they will charged as adults $7.95 for the same kids plate that cost $5.95. My daughters don't finish adult plates so most of the time they order from kids meals. We were surprised that the price would be more for a a 12 year old and a 14 year old to order the kids meal. Most restaurants will allow older children to order from kids meals and they won't raise the price. Service and food is good here, we've been here multiple times but first time with our kids. Just be aware of there kids meal rule if your children are older than 10 years old you'll be paying for them as adults, but get a kids plate. read more

Decided to drive here from Temecula for a new Sunday breakfast spot. So worth the little drive. Lovely country atmosphere and great service. There are no bargain prices but the portions are very generous. An ordinary bacon and eggs breakfast comes with 3 eggs and 4 pieces of bacon, of course toast and potatoes or fresh fruit. Jazzed to find this hidden gem! We went for breakfast, and arrived about 9am. The place was busy but a few tables came available pretty quickly so we were seated at a comfy booth in a matter of minutes. Since the hostess was busy cashing out guests, our server, Victoria, actually seated us. I always like to see a team effort in a restaurant, it shows that everyone cares. We loved the rustic look and decor. The antler chandeliers were especially cool! Our food arrived in a timely manner and the portions were generous with amazing thick-cut bacon. We actually ordered an extra side of bacon because at most places they never give you enough, but next time we won't get the extra because their normal portion was plenty. We will definitely be back when we're in the mood for a hearty home-style meal, with a side of genuine hospitality and heart! read more

I came here last night with my husband, mother-in-law and father-in-law. Let me tell you -- for a Wednesday night, this place was packed! Our server was very attentive and friendly. The food is OK -- nothing great, but nothing inedible. I ordered the grilled halibut and the others in my party ordered steak. First course was a potato cheese soup, it was OK. When the entrees were served, mine was left behind and the waitress actually served ANOTHER party before I finally got my entree. I thought that was in poor taste. Finally I received my entree, grilled halibut, some green beans and a baked potato. Unfortunately, my halibut was totally overcooked. It wasn't the greatest quality, either. The baked potato was the best part of my meal... which isn't a good thing. The rest of my party enjoyed their steaks and I have to give them props for cooking them PROPERLY. They all ordered their steaks medium and that's the way they came. We're used to getting overcooked steaks, so that was a big plus. One other item: I ordered a martini from the bar and it took FOREVER to get to me. As in, I ordered it before my soup and I didn't get it until after I got my entree. Wonderful food, wonderful service! Wow! We drove 60 miles away. We came in for lunch. The rib eye steak with mashed potatoes were delicious. The rib eye was cooked perfectly, no seasoning needed. My hubby ordered the chicken sandwich with onion rings, he devoured his food. Our friend ordered the Bbq pork sandwich with fries.. portions were more tham plenty for one person...all I can say is yummy all around! Busy on a Sunday afternoon, but we only waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. Menu had a large variety but I chose the pulled pork. Best choice EVER. I don't even remember what the rest of my family ordered. This may have been the best pulled pork I've ever had. Bread was chewy and held together despite the large amount of meat & sauce. Pulled pork was tender, flavorful, and generous enough to build another sandwich. I liked that the sauce was served on the side so you could add as much as you wanted.
