This is a review of two days we went here 2 weeks apart. Trust me you want to make this drive from down south or up north! Tucked away in Rainbow (after Fallbrook...before Temecula). There's even a cute gas station and a convenient store that has bakery and old school candy! I can't change my order. I always order the ribeye steak with soup of the day. First week we went out it was clam chowder and the second time it was Mexican tortilla soup. Both were so good I drank it up! The steak is so perfectly cooked it's unbelievable (I get it medium rare). The pink is so perfect that even on the reheat it is is still pink! Both times I got the baked potato, but the rest of the family tried mashed potato and the french fries. They were completely satisfied with their choices. At the front when you walk in there is a dryerase board with the daily specials. One of these days I am going to have to try one of those, by sacrificing my ribeye order. I hear that they meatloaf is one of their popular dishes! The location of this restaurant seems like its in the woods. Lol...at night when you are walking outside it seems like you are in one of those olden days horror movies. Plenty of parking outside around the facility. Inside there are pretty good number of seating available. It is always packed when we go, but there service is so quick. Besides the quality of their food, their customer service keeps me returning. Ok......so...... This is a locals restaurant. Pure and simple. The food.....incredible. It's down home diner food. The tri tip is pure bliss, prime rib night is a must, fish and chips are orgasmic, fried chicken will make you slap yo mamma as they say. everything is phenomenal. The service is lacking tho. Gotta have patience here, but believe me it's worth it. Cherish is BY FAR the best behind the bar. She absolutely ROCKS IT. You can tell she knows what she's doing and does it well. Jake cares a lot since it's his family restaurant but is often overwhelmed. Everyone else is mid. Shouldn't have to ask for napkins and silverware. Don't let that deter you tho. The food is rib sticking, gut filling, down home country ass food that you will come back for. Don't skip on their breakfast either. Oh and they have the best bloody Mary's I have ever had. Don't f**k around here. Locals will defend this place and the staff. They play the National Anthem daily. They have signs permitting the carry of firearms, so don't be shocked if you run into a local with a holstered pistol. It's Rainbow, get over it. That all being said....EAT HERE. Unsuspectingly great food. It's located just off the freeway and shares a parking lot with a cute section of stores, like a general store, antique shop and candy store. So cute. The inside of the restaurant is huge. Lots of natural light and more importantly, AC :) we opted to sit outside since we didn't want to wait and their patio fans makes a nice breeze so you don't mind the heat too much. Let me start with why the picture is half eaten....The portions are insane and you can easily share between two people. I'd like to think of myself as a country fried steak enthusiast and this was hands down the best I've ever had! They use a batter rather than just a breading mixture which kept it from getting soggy. The gravy itself was very flavorful and there was no need to add salt or pepper. A lady stopped me in the bathroom and gave me a quick run-down of the history of the property. Great little hidden gem that we have near Temecula. Waited about 20 minutes to be seated but not bad for a weekend. Food was delicious full of flavor and quality. This place has mom and Pop written all over over. Our waiter was good quick and consistent and I love the place. The decor is nice. The best part was when noon time came they did the national anthem. Poor service! While staying at Fallbrook for the weekend we picked this spot to support local businesses. Unfortunately we didn't have a good experience because we had to wait over 30 min to our food to be served while watching the next tabel who came in later then us got all their food. We ordered the same kids meal for our boys one of them had a mickey pancake with larger pancakes and the other one had dollar size pancakes. Of course it doesn't matter for adults how your pancake is shaped but unfortunately it made my son very sad. We will not be going back. read more

Waiter knew the menu well when I asked some questions. The orange juice mimosas are good. Long wait for the food to come out, over 30 minutes and we had to go inside to flag down a waiter to find out when our food might be coming out. But they were packed inside with people so I get it. Really large portions of food and the food is always really good. I really liked my Eggs Bene Corn Beef Hash. Wife really liked her Monte Cristo (I did too, I got a bite). My husband and I have driven by this place several times over the years and finally decided to give it a try. Apparently, we've been missing out! I ordered a blue cheese burger and fries and my husband had the tuna melt and onion rings. The portions were generous and the food was delicious! My burger was a 12 oz patty on a wheat bun. There was a huge helping of blue cheese and it was served with lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles on the side. The french fries can be described as large curly fries? I'd never had a fry like that before, but that's beside the point. They were soft and fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside! Just the right amount of salt! The tuna melt was one of the best I've ever had! Like any good wife, I had to sample my husband's sandwich to make sure it was good enough for him to eat! It was served on rye bread, and there was so much tuna, it kept falling out of the sides. His onion rings were sweet, crunchy, and oh-so-good! I didn't snag any pictures of our food before we started eating because I wasn't expecting to write a review, but I did get a few after photos. This is what we had left and took home for later. We stopped by the country store just adjacent to the restaurant after lunch. The clerk mentioned that the restaurant has delicious fried chicken on Tuesday nights and prime rib on Wednesdays. Although it was raining cats & dogs- we all had to drive (Womp womp)- your heated patio area accommodated our rowdy party with such finesse! Jonah did such an amazing job keeping our orders flowing & always checking up on us! The transparent vinyl (I think) pull downs to keep the cold wet wind at bay from the outside of the patio area also helped too! This was my second visit here within 2 weeks- and this time around I snagged the corned beef hash. One of my fave go to comfort foods. Although canned- but no biggie bc I grew up on the canned version as a kid. And this time I got the home fries that had some green onions & bell peppers- which were diced in small portions and not huge chunks. Gotta have the shredded cheese on the home fries! I was absolutely FLOORED today when the OWNER yelled at my elderly(84 years old) aunt when she was asking about her omelette after waiting for it for 2.5 hours She rolled her eyes, through her hands up and said she doesn't know how long food takes to cook (we asked how long oatmeal took when my other aunt waited 2 hours for it and she laughed and made that comment) We wanted 2 hours and finally cancelled our order (we came late to the birthday so we got fries, toast and fruit) then we were told we had to wait cuz they have a full restaurant... um okay? We were outside so maybe we got forgotten? I don't know but it was so crazy my aunt actually told the owner she had a shitty attitude to which the owner repeated an yelled even more We will never ever ever ever be back $20 cold omelettes, $10 cold oatmeal, $7 burnt black coffee (don't even think about a refill) Take your money elsewhere unless you wanna overpay for a 3 hour wait for your food. We took a short trip to Fallbrook and had really good luck with finding great food. The one place that we always talk about is this place. Rainbow Oaks and their prime rib. We walked in and thankfully didn't have too long of a wait. We were lucky and happened to get here on a Wednesday night when they had their Prime Rib Special. It was a great price and decent portion, although there was a lot of fat on the cuts. The taste was exceptional. I still think about this prime rib from time to time and want to plan a trip to Fallbrook again JUST to eat this again. I don't recall the oz specifically but they had two different oz options for the special price. The restaurant is also beautiful - lots of wood interior and very American themed. I don't remember to tell you, but there's a story behind the building and all the wood! They have a large parking lot. I would highly recommend to anyone! read more

I came here with my boyfriend while we were staying at Harrah's for his bday. We left the hotel to try something less resort-ey and better prices. We came here because I've passed it so many times delivering flowers for my Mom's florist and wondered what it was like inside. It's quaint and cozy. I liked the sports bar area so we sat there for breakfast. It was a Monday morning so not too busy yet there was quite a few people in the main dining area. Food was great and portions a plenty! Server was super nice too and talked to us because she wasn't very busy. She mentioned their 10 oz prime rib special on Wednesdays after 2pm. Needless to say we came back again on Wednesday and sat in the same seats for the special. It surpassed expectations and looked like it was more than 10 oz. We also decided to get cocktails since they had a full bar. We asked if they could make dirty martinis. They didn't have any olive brine on hand but were happy to figure something out. They went next door to the small grocery store and got a jar of olives to make our drinks with. The young bartender didn't know how to make one so we walked him through it. He nailed it and now has dirty martinis in his resume. :0) We probably had 3 each before we left making the trouble he went through to get olive juice worthwhile. I came here with family on a Sunday afternoon for a birthday brunch. It almost looks like a rest stop, but it's a large restaurant with large portions! Nothing on the menu really wowed me, I ended up ordering pancakes bacon and eggs. Their pancakes were fluffy and way better if we just went to Dennys. The service was a little slow, but that's to be expected on a Sunday. It wasn't bad for being the only restaurant in Rainbow. Talk about the place to be for Sunday brunch! We were meeting up with family that lives further north so this was a nice half way point for us. The menu here is great with tons of variety for breakfast and lunch options and all of the entrées were massive so you better come hungry! With it being a busy Sunday afternoon the service was a bit on the slower side but our server was working hard with lots of outside tables and large parties. I decided to go with the eggs benedict since I hadn't had one in awhile and added avocado, and adding avocado to them meant an ENTIRE avocado which was awesome also the ham on it was a thick cut of ham so it was a hearty eggs Benny! I got the hash browns crispy and they were perfection some of the best hash browns I have had. I ordered the brisket and I was disappointed 2/3 of the meal was brisket crumbs and 1/3 brisket pieces. Now, I did come in late in the day so maybe they were better earlier in the day. But clearly not when I ate it. Chicken sandwich, what my wife got. Why is it 2 thin slices? And it was a bit on a dry side. Hamburger that my mother in law was decent. The interior is like old school country vibes, wooden stools, hunting photos on the wall. Definitely has a very cool country bar vibe. This place was DELICIOUS. The blueberry French toast special, was out of sight. The eggs were cooked to perfection, the bacon was absolutely fantastic.
