Located in a strip center hidden a little bit off Temecula Parkway. It had outdoor seating for us and our pup so gave it a try. Walking through the restaurant - it was packed by the way and it was 9:00 AM on a Saturday.. It was an extensive menu even for breakfast. I ordered the spinach mushroom omelette that also had pico and Monterey Jack cheese. It had no protein in it but came with a side of your choice of corn tortillas or toast. You could've added protein for an additional charge. Hubby had a senior meal that consisted of one egg, any style, a little bit of ham, a little bit of sausage and two bacon strips. We shared both of these entrées. Food was tasty and satisfying. Not sure if this was "normal"but they gave away free Mexican bread to try as well as a little gift bag to take home with some mini pottery in it. I've been twice now, once for breakfast which was really good which made me go back a second time to try out some lunch choices. The customer service has been amazing both times the staff are friendly and give good recommendations. The mango Fresca was so fresh and not too sweet. Sadly I spent $14.12 on a Chorizo Burrito that was made with some kind of bright red pieces of Chorizo - assuming its Longoniza, with possibly frozen hash browns. I'm honestly confused how this place is so highly rated. My husband and I went in and it was completely empty, which should have been a bit of a red flag. Right off the bat, there were no complimentary chips and salsa, which is pretty standard at most Mexican restaurants. The water I ordered had a strong chemical taste with a horrible aftertaste. I switched to an Arnold Palmer, but it had the same issue, so I ended up going out to my car to grab my own water bottle. The menu was very limited, and surprisingly there were no carnitas options, which was disappointing for my husband. I ordered the taco plate, and the carne asada was extremely chewy with a slightly burnt aftertaste. The chicken wasn't seasoned that well. Actually morning was seasoned! My husband got the wet burrito, which was overly saucy and not enough beans and rice to hold it all together. We also ordered chips and guacamole, and it came with barely a handful of chips definitely not enough for the portion of guac. Overall, nothing about this experience stood out in a good way. Confirmed! It wasn't just a one time experience of amazing-ness! Took my mother in law recently for brunch and she LOVED it. She ordered the chilaquiles and I ordered the Ham and egg melt. We arrived at a great time, there was only about 4 families and a squad from the fire department but that didn't affect the customer service one bit. As we were leaving about 4 more families came in so that was exciting to see for this business We were quickly attended to, and promptly received our drinks. By the way.... The Horchata!! I am genuinely a kind snob (I'll order but never return because I understand every business is different) when it comes to horchata because I make it fresh myself so I know when restaurants use a powder mix this horchata was FRESH, without doubt they use rice, cinnamon and all the magic that goes into this drink. The woman's bathroom had a baby changing table. There were booths along the right side wall and regular tables everywhere else. Water came in to go plastic cups with a lid and straw. Complementary soup is offered to begin the dining experience. I ordered the green chilaquiles and my fiancé ordered the red. The breakfast burrito with bacon was great the only thing I wish it had beans because the beans from my own plate were bomb. The taco was so good, they don't play with their corn tortillas. I advise trying at least one taco because the tortilla alone was 10/10. The agua was fresh and delicious. We also got a pancake, not my personal favorite. I gave this place a fair shot. Three separate visits, trying a wide range of items, before settling on my rating. Without a doubt, this is the best Mexican restaurant within a 50-mile radius. Across my visits, I ordered the chile relleno burrito, chilaquiles, tacos, mole, pancakes, and more. Every single dish was phenomenal, honestly, not one complaint. What really sets this place apart is the tortillas. It's rare to find a spot where both corn and flour tortillas are equally impressive. The corn tortillas are soft, pliable, and never brittle, with a rich toasted corn flavor. The flour tortillas have that perfect slight stretch and texture that's hard to come by. You will not eat dry tortillas here ! The salsas: jalapeño, habanero, and red, are all outstanding, and the service has been consistently great. The city doesn't have many standout Mexican food options, but this place fills that gap completely. Prices are very reasonable, making it a great choice for families, and the value is absolutely there. I'm a big fan and this has easily become my go-to spot for breakfast and Mexican food. I initially wasn't going to review but I feel like I would be irresponsible if I didn't. I ordered a taco with rice and beans. The taco came with nothing except meat and a house made tortilla. A plus was that there was a lot of meat in the taco. There was so much meat that I couldn't fold the tortilla but the tortilla was quite small. I ordered al pastor and it was good but nothing special. Because my taco was so dry I asked for some pico de gallo to put on top. The server brought me a tablespoon of pico which was mostly old, strong onions; no salt or any taste except onions. I used some of the 1st tablespoon but had to ask for more because it was basically mostly onions and I would have liked some tomatoes as well. Server brought me another tablespoon of pico. When my bill came I was charged $2.58 for 2 tablespoons of pico to put on top of my taco! I was so surprised that they would nickel and dime a customer like that. I mean, literally, it was about 2 tablespoons of pico. Besides the pico rip-off you do not get chips and salsa. If you want it, it's an extra charge. The thing is, I could have ordered chips and salsa for about the same price as two tablespoons of pico de gallo if I had known ahead of time that I was going to be charged for a condiment! You get a tiny little bowl of tomato soup with spaghetti in it with your meal which was a salty surprise. It was disappointing because there is no caldo (soup), no carnitas and no pescado on the menu. There are deep fried shrimp tacos on the menu. Someone in my party ordered a smothered burrito. She ordered both red and green sauce on the side. Both of the sauces were NOT good. Three of us tasted the sauces. The green one tasted very much like vinegar and the red one just tasted like oregano. There was no spice or other flavors at all to either of the sauces. However, The burrito that came with the sauces was actually very good. A few people really enjoyed their meal but several of us did not. My main complaint would be that they would charge me $2.58 for two tablespoons of chopped onions and tomatoes instead of recommending chips and salsa. Honestly I have never been charged $1.27 for a Tbsp of pico at any Mexican restaurant and I've been around the block a few times. I will not be going back here and I believe they will struggle to maintain costs let alone make any profit. I don't see this restaurant lasting more than a year or two. If you are nickel and diming people to death by charging them for a tiny portion of pico de gallo I guarantee you it will only happen once per customer because they won't come back. Even though it's a small charge customers will feel taken advantage of. It's just offensive. Maybe if the amount of pico was equal to the cost it would be more palatable. A better option would be supplying free chips and salsa. That would definitely bring people back even if the food wasn't that great. The ambiance is a bit bland but I do have to say that it is a very clean restaurant. Regardless, I won't be back and will be opining about the cost of the "pico de oro" to everyone. read more

I went on a recommendation about the beef burrito with steak from an historically reputable friend so that's what I ordered. Oddly it came served in 3 open flour tortillas (flour at my request) without anything but the beef. I added beans rice and part of the tiny salad and my choice hot sauce and the beef was excellent. Barbecued or smoked I don't know, but a flavor that got my taste buds excited. It's a beautiful restaurant in a standardized way but very comfortable. I will go back. This is a small place hidden back from the Parkway in a cluster strip mall of businesses. I'd been there before when it was a different restaurant. New owners have been here 6 months and changed the name. There is a family history on their menu. We tried lunch that was quite good. Mulita is 2 crispy corn tortillas filled with your choice of meat. I had tasty and tender asada, carnitas not offered. Hubby had a huarache with pastor meat which he didn't care for as it did not seem authentic. Asada would be his choice next time. Breakfast is offered all day and they have a big variety.
