This has recently become Gonzalez Tires. I really needed my front tires replaced. They are a bit rare, low profile for a micro car. The fella I talked to was super helpful, said he could get them next day, and gave me a price of 220 all together. I had a little sticker shock at first, and told him "I'd see if Costco had them, if not I'd order them with him." I checked Costco, and the fella there told me "it would take 3-4 days, and would be $880"! For two. I double checked. I called Gonzales back and ordered them right there. They called me the next day. We're super fast and friendly, I was only there for maybe 15 minutes, and I was on my way. These guys are straight shooters, friendly, helpful, and really good at their jobs. ** Extremely efficient and capable staff. Quality tire patching / repairs for reasonable prices. My family and I went into Rainer's Service Station wanting to patch a relatively new tire which other larger tire shops such as America's Tire were refusing to patch. America's Tire Co claimed that the nail in our tire couldn't be fixed, worrying that it was too close to the side of the tire when it seems like it was totally doable. The nail was above the top most line of the side of the tire which was the point they said would be doable to patch. Seems like other companies want to get you to buy a new tire since that's more profitable for them. The repair technician even joked that they would probably repair your tire and resell it afterwards. By default it seems like they do the patch from the outside for ~$20, if you want to do the patch from the inside you can let them know and they will do it for ~$30. We went with patching from the inside because it seems like the sturdier option but this is up to you. They also included the service of swapping out our spare tire with the newly patched one. Overall the process was done in about 20 minutes, as they were extremely efficient. As long as the tire holds up over time which Im sure it will, I definitely recommend checking Rainer's out for tire needs! read more

We've gone twice to have brake pads changed. You don't need an appointment but you do need to bring your own brake pads and the mechanic is not there until noon. The woman I spoke to the first time I went sent me along my way to an auto parts store and we returned later to have the front brake pads done. When it was time for the rear brake pads I came prepared with the new brake pads and didn't have to wait too long before they got to me. The second visit was in the times of COVID-19 and they actually sit in the car while they changed the brakes, a very new experience for me but I appreciate their effort for social distancing. I recommend the place for the service I had done and I saw someone pull up to get their tires changed so I'd call first to make sure they provide the service you're looking for. Quick and cheap service for a flat tire! Very kind staff! I was concerned to come to this place at first because I went alone as a female without car experience. Rainer and his employee have been very kind to me and explained everything with respect and knowledge. I had a flat tire and they checked the old tire for punctures. It was diagnosed that the rubber valve broke and let air out. They could've easily told me to buy a new tire but they fixed it in 20 minutes and charged only $25. There's a $3 free for debit and credit card use. They also checked the air in all other tires for free. All in all, I was surprised to get such great service even though I'm an easy target for scamming. :) read more

A dishonest business. We went to pick up a U-haul at 4:30PM (Might I note that they were supposed to be open until 5PM). We went through the entire self-service check-in process to pick up the key from the lockbox. Opened the lock box, no key. No one at the counter either. The office was closed as well. Because we had already gone through the check-in process, my card got a hold and charge put on it. U-haul put in a customer service request (props to Cyndi on the U-haul national line for being amazing) and we drove to another U-haul location to pick up a car to complete our move. I called U-haul three times this week to check in on that refund. U-haul is now telling me that Rainer's had noted that 1. we picked up the key at their counter at 5:14PM and 2. drove the car for 40 miles. They might have gotten away with that lie if we hadn't been driving a U-haul from Redwood City at the same time. (Surprise! Can't drive two cars at the same time.) They were trying to cheat me out of a U-haul refund to cover their own butt (and finances). Usually, bad customer experiences can be marginally forgivable. Most business owners are well-intentioned and perhaps overwhelmed. But the extra step to lie about my having picked up the U-haul indicates a certain absence of character and sense of distorted ethics that leads me to believe that this station does not deserve to be serving customers. read more

Went there when they opened and was told the guy was running errands and will be back in a bout an hour. That sucked cuz I had to go to work. So my daughter took the car back a little later. I thought my tired needed to be patched, but I didnt know there were 4 nails in it. Lol so my daughter got a used tired to replace it. All was good after. When I got there I got some runaround about them having to wait for the manager before they could do anything and he'd be back in an hour and a half. No, 20 minutes. The guy then rudely explained to me that I couldn't just walk in and expect them to help me. "I didn't. I called ahead to see if you could." He repeated that I couldn't just walk in and expect help. Wow. These guys do top-notch work at better-than-bargain prices. I had a flat tire and remembered this place was just around the corner so I drove in and had them check it. They pulled the wheel off (even offered me something to drink while I waited) and checked the tire, but it had a gash on the sidewall and so was not patchable. They didn't have a tire in the right size so I had them install the "doughnut" spare. As they were finishing one of the guys mentioned that another tire place in town might have one and offered to drive me there in his own vehicle. We managed to find a used tire of the exact type and size I needed, so he drove me back to the shop with it where they removed the "doughnut" spare again and mounted the "new" tire. Total charge for removing and checking the tire, mounting the spare, driving me around town, un-mounting the spare, and mounting the replacement tire on my car? Ten bucks. read more

So I have came to this place on numerous occasions. Let me just start of my saying the SERVICE STAFF the guys who actually are doing the work are AMAZING GREAT super time efficient, very polite , make sure you leave there felling safe and secure! The owner also a pretty nice gentleman I've dealt with him once to be exact. Now here's were my 3 stars come in and the ONLY reason 3 stars are bing given is the Woman who works there not sure what her deal is but this business also sells snacks and tobacco products. I came into here about 6 months ago from this review to buy a tobacco product for my husband who sent me . I walk in and rage seemed busy or stressed or just dramatic ! But she's was extremely fierce I asked for the product and she claims that I need my ID . Mind you they don't ID everyone im witness to it . I walk back to my car to retrieve my if upon walking in she rolls her eyes I walk up out my ID and 100$ bill on the counter only bill I had on me . She then claims that she cannot break that size bill . So I walk back to my truck retrieve my debit card just to walk in again to be greeted then another eye roll just for her to say oh sorry we aren't accepting card payments at the time our machine isint working . Sorry and shrugs her shoulders and turns around and dismissed me ! My husband drives down there and of course without my surprise she's smiling and laughing and being EXTREMELY Pleasant. Today I went to the business for a new tire and for my uhaul reservation that I reserved about 3 months prior. As my husband is dealing with the tire briskness I ATTEMPT to walk in to inquire about the reservation I have for pick up . She doesn't even allow me to walk in before she's literally BARKING saying no need for you to walk in And pay I don't know how much I need to charge you and if I even have a tire for you . I politely expressed to her that me attempting to walk in was for other business aside from the tire. I wasn't even given the chance really to even speak . I walk out and tell my husband to just go in and deal with her that once again she's being rude for no reason I've done absolutely nothing to this woman ! And without surprise my husband walks in to deal with her and she's again extremely pleasant with him . Unfortunately she wasn't able to fulfill my reservation at at her business so I am now driving 22 miles out to a hopefully more professionally contracted uhaul location that is going to fulfill my reservation without the attitude or hassle . And for the record I'm Latina by husband is African American and the woman at the front is African American. I hate to go Thai route but I'm starting to think im being discriminated against because of my nationality. read more

Cool tire shop with old school feel. Called 5 other tire shops along 101 and the best price was $40 for a patch and it was gonna be an hour before they could touch my car. Drove a little further south to these dudes as they had instant availability. They jumped right on it and it was $22 out the door. I came for tire change on all my wheels and the guy told me that it was going to make a loud noise because of the brakes I said ok once they finished I leave location the noise was really mood but I was told so I didn't pay attention as soon as I'm driving home my whole wheel comes out !
