I really like the Rain Forest cafe. It's a fun place to visit, even if you are just walking around the restaurant and store without purchasing anything. And they often have fun things going on for children. The workers are all very nice and accommodating. And if you join their club (Landry's select club), you get lots of perks. This includes a $25 welcome reward and $25 birthday reward. They do charge a one time fee of $25, but you get it right back in rewards. I would have given 4 stars for my review. The food was really all delicious, except that my steak was very tough and had gristle in it. But I will definitely be back again. read more

I get we are paying for the atmosphere however asking if we want dessert five minutes after being given our food was not acceptable and when we said no she said she'd get our check. Went here for lunch with some friends and our children. It's located in the mall, across from the sea life aquarium. The decor is cool; the animals are fun and the thunderstorm is entertaining and the kids liked it. We were seated immediately which was good, and the waitress was really nice. She was accommodating, especially when I asked her if we could water down my son's apple juice (I don't like him drinking too much sugar). These are the positives. As for the negatives, the food on the menu was expensive, even for fairly standard fair and especially for lunch. The specials menu did not list any pricing. I have no interest in asking what the prices are before ordering, so even though some of the choices looked good, I didn't even consider the items on that menu. I don't understand why a national chain would do that. I ordered the fried shrimp, which came with fries and Cole slaw (which I asked to omit because I don't like it). The shrimp was soggy, with no seasoning. The fries were bland and boring. Especially considering the price, it was very disappointing. My son's meal (Mac & cheese, with applesauce and apple juice) was fine, but nothing special. Overall I wouldn't return. The restaurant was crowded given that it was a Saturday. However, upon showing my LSC membership card; we were seated within 10 minutes despite the 2-hour general wait time. The server was very nice, the drinks were good, and the food was tasty and warm. I would recommend to anyone looking to get quick, friendly service. I'll be back in the near future! read more

Me, my daughter and granddaughter went to Great Lakes Crossing to do some shopping, walking around for a bit we worked up an appetite.We stopped in at Rainforext Cafe because of course my granddaughter thought it looked fun and the menu also looked good!! Well good it is not. I ordered the taste of the islands which was tilapia , coconut shrimp, some other kind of shrimp, island rice, and steamed vegetables. The talapia was tasteless and rubbery, the rice was super hard and grainey, and the coconut shrimp tasted like chemicals!!! I'm not gonna go on about the other 2 dishes but nobody ate their food cuz it was horrible!!! Bill came to $95.00 and none of us ate our food!!! The waitress was nice and friendly but this place should not be in buisness!!! I would not recommend going here to eat!!! Seriously some of the nastiest food i've ever had!!! -10 stars...... The server was inattentive at best, and that's being nice. We were seated, put our orders in, and when I finally flagged her down 30 minutes later to find out what was taking so long, she said "oh, yeah - it should be up soon. The kitchen is a little backed up." (news flash - it took another 15 minutes). I grabbed her after our food got there for refills and some lemons, since I knew she'd never check in again. I was right. My kids' meals were $7 for GFS nuggets and lousy pasta, and my fried fish was so overcooked that I thought it was chicken at first. It was not. This was not a good meal. The one positive thing was that it's nice and stimulating for children to be in it with all the animals but everything else is hands down horrific! Aside from the fun ambience, much of the food has consistently been gross every time I have visited over the years... no matter what I order. During this visit, the kids meal corn was disgusting and the pizza was not good. The lettuce wraps I ordered were gross. Ambience was very nice enjoyed the hanging gorillas which kept on winking at us :) . Unfortunately, even though the ambience was spectacular, the true downfall was the fact that a food came late, overall the service from the waiter was accommodating and he did the best with the constraints from the kitchen staff. My husband Anthony really devoured the amazing appetizer platter. He said he gave him three out of five stars because it reminded him of heat up food. The ambiance is neat, although the poor animals look like they've been set on a timer to move for the last 20 years. My toddler likes the mist from the ledge the best, and that's not something you need to even go into the restaurant to enjoy. The food was not worth the money. Her grilled cheese tasted like it was soaked in butter before it was grilled. I got the fish and chips and was disappointed because the fish was dry and the fries were barely warm. At least I was able to enjoy the grapes and orange slices that came with my daughter's grilled cheese. The most disappointing things about this experience was that we waited for almost 45 minutes for 2 adults meals and 2 kids meals, and the restaurant was maybe half full. There were tons of empty tables. Also, I knew it would be overpriced, but for my meal, my daughter's meal (which included a $6.50 cup...the servicer didn't mention the price or that it wasn't included when she up sold us), plus tip was $40! And we probably left about half the food uneaten because it wasn't that good when it came out. Tip: save your money and just hang out in the gift shop for a little bit (hear a thunder storm or two) and go eat in the food court. I will start with the positive....the "experience" as far as the animals moving and making noises, the thunderstorm and rain...it was nice and my son loved it. This place is mostly for its atmosphere. The food is decent, but only worth the price if you are fully sold on the novelty of the restaurant. That being said, the quality of the food certainly isn't poor, probably on par with and good local bar and grill. The burgers and nachos are perhaps the best value, but they have a good variety of foods to choose from ranging from steaks to pasta dishes and vegetarian/vegan options so there something for everybody. Ambiance is everything here! From the minute you walk underneath their neon sign, you find yourself surrounded by robotic rain forest animals, aquariums of fish, and a ceiling that is designed to look like the night sky. The animals are all designed to do something. The lion and tiger roar and move their tails. The elephant flaps his ears and the monkeys make monkey noises. A couple of times during our meal the restaurant pretended that a rain storm was occurring so they dimmed the lights flashed lightening and made thunder sounds along with the sound of heavy rain. It was pretty remarkable. It completely reminded me of all the wonderful restaurants in Disney world. We ordered their hamburgers with fries. I went for the guacamole burger and my son just had the kid's meal cheeseburger with fries. There food was so good! Everything was served hot and tasted fresh. I loved the spiciness of the cheese that came with the burger; it really kicked it up a notch. Everything was seasoned well. They did miss the fried onion ring that was suppose to top my burger but, that is ok. It was my birthday so we also received a free birthday cupcake. The cupcake was super dry but, free so... The waitress was really great about it and added a sparkler to the top to entertain the kids! The customer service here is wonderful. She was so attentive and friendly toward me and the children. Actually my family and our guests had great time there. Kids enjoyed their meals and adults got to spend some times of their own. I have read some reviews stating that food is very expensive here but it wasn't that bad price for the place. Food was fine, just like other family restaurant. It took me third attempts to eat this restaurant after making reservations three weeks advance. Traveling thru from a concert 4th of July weekend. Would not have been my first choice but it was fun. No reservation needed today got right in. Just as we always remembered many excited children and parents in tow. Waitress was prompt and very friendly. We placed orders for Cesar salad with chicken and the nachos. I was traveling through town. Kiddos wanted to go to Lego and Sea land and saw this restaurant and got excited. I read the reviews regarding the food and was hesitant but they really wanted the experience. Unfortunately, they were short on servers but most staff except my waitress was friendly. Because I drove hours to get here and was hungry, I had questions about the food and am on a diet - also dealing with loss. Sadly, one of her comments to me was "that's all we got!" I ordered the shrimp and blackened tilapia. The fish was blackened on the top but not cooked well through. I just couldn't stomach it especially for $31. To be honest, I didn't even want to tell my server and told another but ended up telling her and replaced with a burger which was decent. When she's bring dishes over, she'd just drop off and say here you go and only asked after everything was eaten how it was. Due to my job, I take clients out to eat literally daily. I know great customer service and this was not jt. Honestly, I understand the talent crisis because I worked to help fix it. My org sees hundreds of companies a year. I don't blame her or them. The atmosphere is fun and kids will love it. It puts you in the feel of a rainforest. Order foods that are simple - burgers. Sadly, waitress didn't like me and I could feel it and just dropped off check. I asked for a side salad and she gave me a full one. Treated my mother here after our outing - unfortunately I was a little disappointed with the meal. I highly suggest to sticking to something low value because high priced plates aren't impressive. Business was a little slow when dined around 7:30pm - just a few servers since the place was near empty. We were a little confused on what to do since no one was there at the entrance then eventually a young lady seated us. The waitress was very friendly and chatty which is good in my book. My mother order the appetizer and I ordered a meat Trio which was the saddest steak I've ever seen looked more like a thin hamburger patty or thick lunch meat. When you see the price then you'll understand - my mom enjoyed hers and she had more than me. So all and all - high price and meals doesn't give me a wow faction so just keep it simple. I think overpriced was a common theme but don't you know what you're getting into before coming here? I mean, you can look at the menu and if you're a cheap ass then go somewhere else, right? Besides you really are paying for the experience of it all, just like going to Hard Rock Cafe or Planet Hollywood. I've been to the Rainforest Cafe in Orlando. This one is very similar. The thunderstorm every 30 minutes is a great way to get your kids hiding under the table or crying like sissies. I like all the fish tanks. As for the food, it's basic. But I did love the tomato soup. That's all I really have to say about the food. It's more about the experience of the whole thing. But I think if you're going to complain about prices you have the chance to look at the menu ahead of time so you really have no grounds to complain there... read more
