Every interaction we had with the folks at the front desk was a positive one. The lady that checked us in gave us the rundown on everything about the hotel (amenities), and she gave plenty of recommendations for us while we were in the area. The ladies that checked us out were also very helpful especially in that they let us cancel the last 2 nights without and fees or hassles. This hotel is rather old and outdated. My room didn't have the best scent, there wasn't any body wash in the bathroom, and the key cards could easily become demagnetized. Some tips: Take advantage of the complementary breakfast. It starts around 6am and lasts a few hours. And remember to bring body wash Again, for what it is, it's not a bad budget hotel. It's just outdated. We found the campground to be clean, quiet, and well cared for. The staff (especially the owners Alan and Ember) are friendly, welcoming, and very willing to help if you need anything. I usually spend my camping days reading or relaxing around the campsite while my husband likes to fish. We found Silver Lake Resort to be the perfect place to enjoy both as we slowed down and unplugged for a few days. Having camped mostly in California, I especially appreciated the classic campground atmosphere that's getting harder to find locally. If you're looking for a place where you can make great memories with family or friends and enjoy everything the outdoors has to offer, I highly recommend Silver Lake Resort. We came expecting some delicious hot breakfasts to start our days, especially with a holiday where everything around was closed. Unfortunately, they recently changed to only providing continental breakfast... Not what I was expecting especially for a bed and breakfast that I feel I paid the premium for. This is a solid 4-star place but with the removal of hot breakfasts, I could easily have rated it as 3 instead. It wouldn't have been as big of a deal if we had been given a heads up before we arrived of the change, we could have planned ahead for it by bringing something to make our own. With that said, Adam goes out of his way to make sure you are well taken care of and comfortable the entire stay. They set up a grill so we could cook hamburgers and he was great to talk disc golf with. They also have a great spot to enjoy a fire, toast marshmallows, and make smores. They also have $5 pay to play if you just want to play disc golf and not stay at the inn.

We were in need of a stopover along the way on our trip to central Oregon, and this RV park's…read morelocation in Castle Rock was perfect. We reserved online, and chose a "hookup" site that (upon arrival) was barely large enough for a camper van - much less our 25' RV and similar length tow vehicle. Luckily, the nice couple who run the office were able to upgrade us to a larger site with full hookups. Thank goodness as we would have been without a place to stay overnight! This is not really a campground as much as it is an RV park with a lot of fulltimers. That being said, the place is relatively clean and pretty quiet. Sometimes these types of parks can be a little sketchy, but this one was fine and fit our needs as a waypoint. We also got to visit the nearby Mt. St. Helens Visitors Center as well as grab a couple of beers down the road in downtown Castle Rock. If you're looking for a camping-style experience, this probably isn't the right place. But if you need a quick place to stop not far from the freeway, it was perfectly fine and felt safe.
