So I stopped by to try some of there new offering since my last time and I'm glad I did cause it's even better. I had the chocolate cheesecake and it was amazing! Amazing! Had to say it twice.. Lol. I ended up getting the Lilikoi, Guava, and Raspberry cheesecake to take home and try...why not right. The people and service is great and super friendly. This little hole in the wall shop is what coffee shop dreams are made of! The gentlemen running this coffeehouse are to die for- they are so kind and real. Not to mention their lilikoi bar is the best I've ever had and their Americano was perfect. I never ask anywhere else to have my honey added before the Americano is iced bc no one likes a picky order. So I didn't ask here either. I'm going to have to agree with many of the Yelpers that YES, this is your cute, hidden gem of a cafe in the neighborhood with a great selection of baked goods. Would I recommend coming here for a lunch meal? Maybe not... Although the Turkey and cheese sandwich was yummy, I don't think it should cost $16. The The multi-grain bread used in the sandwich can definitely be purchased at your local grocery store and the meat and cheeses are Boar's head brand.. which leads me to think that I can make 12 of these sandwiches at home for the amount i'm spending here. Nonetheless, the sandwich was filling and I enjoyed the pickle and side of herb salad that comes with it. Also keep in mind that if you request to have your sandwich grilled on the panini press or want to add mac nut pesto, they charge an extra dollar for each. Aside from the sandwich, I would highly recommend ordering a nice cup of coffee and any one of their wonderful desserts! My favorite dessert so far is the lilikoi bar. It has the perfect balance of tart and sweetness, and the texture of the crust and the gooey-ness of the lilikoi is wonderful! If you prefer non-chain cafes (like Starbucks or Coffee Bean) then this is the place for you. Their bright green walls are adorned with local, floral artwork and each table has a little anthurium placed in the center. Although they only have a view Pensacola St., there is a lot of natural sunlight that enters the cafe from their large, floor to ceiling windows. There are two older gentlemen who seem to run the place and are so adorable! I could tell they are very passionate in what they do just based on the delightful, small talk we engaged in during our visit. It would be nice if they offered complimentary WiFi or had more outlets available for electronic devices but perhaps they don't want it to be that type of cafe where people stay all day to do work. Consider this place for the next time you want to sit and chat over a nice cup of coffee and desserts with a friend or significant other :) read more

Great little coffee shop and bakery. I was there a little after 1 on a weekday. Place was empty except for the guy behind the counter. He wasn't a young kid, I'd guess he was the owner or someone heavily involved there. Very friendly and polite. I got metered street parking right across from the shop. Just three or 4 small tables, very intimate. I got a cappuccino and blueberry muffin, then snacked, sipped and read a book for the next half hour or so. Small portions compared to your average chain coffee shop, but that's fine by me. I don't need a pastry the size of a loaf of bread. Whoever does their baking has it spot on, I'll be back to try their other snacks for sure. Cappuccino was served in a small cup, so the ratio was more espresso and less milk, another plus for me. This shop is relatively new, I asked and was told they opened this past June (2015). My opinion is that this guy deserves your business, nice spot to sit and relax with a book for a while or stop for a treat if you're on a date. It's not terribly cheap, you're paying for a place to relax and quality coffee and baked goods. If that kind of place is your jam, check it out. I'll definitely be back. read more

This is a quaint new little place. The decor, music, and interior is very reminiscent of the 60's and earlier, but for once, this is a good thing because it has its own charm and it works well with the architecture of the building. The owner seems to be the only one behind the counter with his partner making the baked goods. He is very friendly and charismatic and likes to make you feel at home! I had a vanilla latte and a lilikoi bar and enjoyed them both. I assure you, the coffee is legit! The baked goods are simple but delicious. I ended up buying several lilikoi bars and will probably come back to buy more. Makiki is a simple place with a large population of locals, so the multitude of take-out places and delis satisfies us just fine, but there's a dire need of more sit-down establishments. This is a very welcome addition to the Pensacola Strip and I will be coming back, hopefully with friends and family. I can't wait to see the growth of this place because it's already starting off so well. Decor, customer service, food, and overall experience all get perfect marks. read more

What a quaint little place! Loved it. We need more of these in Honolulu! The coffee was served in a REAL cup. Loved that, too. There are not many places that still do it, it's all paper and plastic...to me it's how else do you enjoy a wonderful coffee than in a porcelain cup? (they do offer bio-degradable paper cups for take out) Really good coffee, too. The pastry is fantastic, you can literally feel the love that goes into all those yummy pieces when they are made - the owners bake themselves. And no there is no wifi - another "love it". This place wants to remind you that *having a great talk over coffee* can still be done - without phones or laptops! Just sit back, relax and have a beautiful conversation with your friends. Found this place on a whim. Parked at petco and walked over. First the service service was very very nice the guy was so sweet and he came to check on me multiple times. The Decour matched him it was cute and sweet inside there was some personal touches that didn't overdo it. I like simple menus. I had the prosciutto with eggs and a muffin. First the prosciutto, not a bad meat but I think by itself it's always a bit salty by nature, if paired with a lighter cheese it would have been a 5th Star. The muffin was warmed and cut in half. It was crunchy on the edges and soft but firm on the inside. Maybe a bit of a cornbread crossover. Delicious. The Star was the eggs. They were scrambled with fresh pesto on top. The pesto was amazing. Even the eggs seemed more whites than yolks. Lastly the coffee. Standard plain latte. The coffee flavor was OK it wasn't too strong it did have too much foam on it for my taste but overall was OK. Would I come back? Honestly I would get everything all over again minus the meat. We have always enjoyed their expresso and baked goods but were knocked off of our feet by their wine and charcuterie Friday night ! One would not really know such wonderful fare awaits because they are known as a coffee house. The wine and beer are carefully selected by the owners , even organic wine is available. Everything from the cheese, fresh fruits and vegetables are of excellent quality. And their bread and lavosh are homemade ! We recommend this adorable spot after work Fridays and Saturdays to wind down to simple but excellent bites. We can't wait to go back ! read more

I drive past this place every morning, and it's been on my list of places to try. Especially because I love, love, love supporting small, family-owned businesses. Today, I finally got my chance, thanks to my accident-prone sister, who had to get her tetanus shot next door at Kaiser after cutting herself on a barbell rack (serious talent, because WHO DOES THAT!?). Upon entering, I was greeted by who I think is the owner. He's very sweet and very enthusiastic about the pastries and coffee. The coffee beans are from South America, but roasted locally. He also uses a light-medium roast, which I love. None of that over-roasted stuff you find at other corporate-owned coffee shops. They don't do batch coffee, but the Americano is delicious. My only gripe is that the to go cups are styrofoam. I'll have to remember to bring my own coffee mug next time. I got the mandarin cranberry muffin, banana nut, and pumpkin walnut. The mandarin cranberry was my favorite out of the 3- tart and refreshing! Apparently the owner's favorite is the blueberry. I told him I'll have to come back to try it. The muffins are refrigerated, so next time I'm going to pop it in the toaster for a bit...I bet it'll be even more epic! Standby for an update... Discovered this cute little place as I drove down Pensacola last week. We just moved up the road on Pensacola/Wilder so have been searching for a good coffee spot since we are not Starbucks people. We went on Sunday and we will definitely be back again this weekend. We didn't eat in but my boyfriend got the banana nut muffin and pumpkin cheesecake. Both were so yummy. For coffee we usually are mocha people. They do not have mochas on the menu but the barista made an amazing iced chocolate latte. The man helping us was extremely nice and recommended what to get for breakfast when we come back. I want to try everything on the menu! While the menu in this bakery is tiny, every item is perfected and tasty. Save room for dessert because this is what this place is best at. Whenever I'm in the area, I always pick up some muffins and lemon bars. The muffins are very sweet and taste almost like pound cake. For the best experience, dine in. There's a few tables and chairs and they'll toast up your baked goods for that perfect out of the oven freshness that's best eaten immediately. Okay - this was a pleasant surprise. I just Yelp!ed - breakfast near me, and Raintree Bakery came up. So ... why not. I love these little shops on Pensacola. Reminds me of old time Honolulu. Walked into Raintree and expected to order at the counter and do as I would after. The well dressed (tie and button up) barista/waiter/host asked if I would want to dine in and then invited me to take any seat I wanted and he would come out and serve. Wow - that is not normal here in Hawaii ... or at most coffee shops anymore. So I did ... I sat down and was served in a most polite manner. Please, thank you, excellent choice sir, here are my recommendations... I was very impressed. I ordered an espresso Carmel and it was served in a porcelain cup on a serving plate. Very proper. I also ordered a panini (it was 11 ... so a bit late for breakfast) and the chef himself delivered. The panini was hand crafted with Boars Head meats and cheese and a bakery fresh roll. They served with a side sales graced with Papaya Seed dressing. The chef then came back out to ensure everything was delicious. I really enjoyed my stay. Very pleasant experience. read more

The hype is real! A butter muffin sounds like such a plain menu item but let me tell you, it is amazing!! I really enjoyed their breakfast plate with fluffy scrambled eggs topped with pesto, prosciutto and their butter muffin. The customer service is top notch which, unfortunately, is rare these days. Went to this great little gem while waiting for an appointment at Kaiser. Fantastic organic black breakfast tea, delightful mandarin and cranberry muffin! My boyfriend had a nice cup of freshly brewed ice coffee which I tried and it was very flavorful and strong. But to make things even better, talk about the wonderful music playing in the background, from Mozart, to jazz and new British indie songs (Yessssssssss!) And if that wasn't enough, the wonderful service provided by the owner (great smile, clean image, very detailed oriented, welcoming and personable) is what will definitely make me come and visit every time I visit Kaiser, if I am close by or if I need a place to sit down and relax. In a world saturated with generic corporate coffee shops, and hipster boutique coffee houses, this mom and pop (or rather, pop and pop!) coffee shop, with local, organic, fresh, and wholesome ingredients, is so perfect! I love coffee and have probably gone to every substantial coffee establishment in the greater honolulu area, and this place is definitely one of my favorites. The coffee was delicious, the owner is so friendly and fun to talk to. Today was a particularly hot day, and as i walked in I was greeted with a fresh cold glass of ice water as I decided what i wanted to drink. All baked items are made in house, and with fresh, clean ingredients.
