A good sign when you are eating in a restaurant. They have Great crushed ice & sweet tea, as always. Parking lot was packed, but it was due to restaurant. It was due to the church next door. Choose your time & day carefully. We got out of there before church let out. Not a big deal, but be for warned. Their sauce was good for the chicken, but I wish they had white gravy. For some reasons Raising Cane's seems to be so popular in ABQ. Everytime I stopped by, it was always busy and full of customers. Personally, I think the quality of fried chicken there is a bit better than other fast food joints. It is also quite affordable at just around $12 for a meal combo (or more if you want a bigger meal). Overall, I thought the food is ok. I don't intend to stop by fast food so often..but this chain seems to offer somewhat better food and ambiance than what typical fast food chains offer for sure. Also, they don't really offer any desserts, I don't think. But my most favorite thing is really the sweet and unsweetened tea that you can get from there. Those things do taste good! read more

I've been to the new Westside location 2 separate occasions, both times I ended up backing out of the drive thru because they are so SLOW.

Raising Canes was highly rated by a friend from the Denver area, so I thought I would give it a try. I've lived in the south (Texas, Arkansas, Georgia), so I completely understood what the hoopla was about. Crispy fried chicken, Texas toast, French fries, Coleslaw, and, of course, their own brand of dipping sauce. If I closed my eyes, I was almost transported back to "TX-AR-GA". Of course, i don't live there anymore so my immediate reaction was: no green chile? no honey? where's the catsup? coleslaw could use some pepper. But, after my initial New Mexico reaction, I realized that it was actually quite good, if you are used to southern fare. So I settled down, closed my eyes to the memories and dipped my chicken & fries in the "sauce". I added some black pepper to my coleslaw and yelled: "wooo-pig-sooie" (under my breath of course). My NM dining companion would never have understood my lapse in judgement. Once I got over the lack of "no green chile", I was very happy with my drive-through dinner. Walked in took me a bit to figure out the process to order. When I was at the register the woman seemed mad and not wanting to be there. It took a long time to come out. If you're looking for some pretty basic chicken wings these will serve just fine. They're crispy and not overdone on the breading though there really isn't a lot of flavor to the breading. I got the three piece meal. The portions are comparatively small if you look at the size of wings and fries from other chains. Though the chicken seems to be real chicken tender meat as opposed to lots of breading with nothing else in it. Give it a try if this is your thing you'll probably enjoy it. It's fast food Chicken joint. Nothing special. But it's just one of those comfort food, guilty pleasure deal. It was just exciting for me because I hadn't had Cane's for a while. Was it worth the 45 minute wait? Probably not, but the weather was nice so we didn't mind waiting. The one star missing is because even after getting our name called, the food wasn't ready. This is my first time at this canes location but I've had canes plenty of times before on my trips to Las Vegas. To me canes is really nothing special but my kids love it. The sauce is good the toast is really good and the chicken tenders are like most chicken tenders. Service was great and the line moved fast. All of the Yelpers giving a one star review are full of it. Hello? It's a new restaurant. There are going to be your typical problems and wait times. I came on a Thursday at 10 PM and there were about 40 cars in the drive-through with about 20 people in line inside. I never do drive thru if it's long, so I noted the blue car I would have been behind. I got through the line and down at the nice outdoor patio in 24 minutes. You can see my starting position in the line. If the line is to the door, expect about a 20 min wait. I have been to Raising Canes down in the South, when I could just literally walk up an order, but I wanted to experience the hype here. It was honestly well worth it! Their chicken is seasoned really well; it was hot, crispy, not soggy as others have said. Crinkle cut fries are good. The cane sauce is really good for dipping. I am not a huge fan of the coleslaw, but I am picky about coleslaw. Their sweet tea is on point. I loved my experience, and I have learned not to trust half of the reviews on Yelp. read more

Went to this location with the Little League baseball team I'm driving from New Braunfels Tx. who is undefeated thus far and playing in the final championship game. We showed up with approximately 50 people and only gave them a five minute notice. They did an outstanding job accommodating us all and getting the orders out pretty quick. The lines are getting shorter-at least on Sunday! Canes has a lot of combo meals. I rarely drink soda, so didn't want a meal. I found that you can order individual pieces. Partner wanted fries. The woman who took my order was very nice. The chicken has a nice crunch and is juicy and flavorful. If my review was chicken only, I'd say five stars...alas, the fries were under cooked, old and limp. I also thought that sauce would come with the chicken. Apparently I was wrong. The chicken is okay but the dining area is too small for a place this popular. It feels like they intentionally made it like that to make more people wait in line. Also, the chicken fingers are very overpriced (more than $2 each) and at that point you might as well buy a 2 pound pack of chicken strip from the supermarket for only $8 which is STILL less than their cheapest combo meal. And they will serve you the chicken at 200 degrees, way too hot. Also the employees (and manager) are very stingy and will charge you an extra 42 Pennies for Cane sauce, whatever that is. read more

Me & the hubby ordered The Caniac Combo which includes 6 chicken strips, fries, Texas toast, coleslaw, 2 cane sauces, & a large drink. The strips have a distinct flavoring unique to canes in the batter and I am now a big fan of the sauce. The toast was my second favorite item of the dish! The coleslaw was also tasty but similar in taste to other coleslaws in our opinion. The fries we weren't blown away with - they reminded us of frozen french fries popped in the oven, we needed to add salt and pepper with the sauce or ketchup. They weren't bad just nothing fancy. We are sweet tea snobs & they did not disappoint with theirs! The service was great they had 3 lanes going as this was the second day open. First thing Raising Canes only does CHICKEN, really great CHICKEN. They have four Main Options to choose from and fries and a drink. You can get coleslaw if you want as a side. We love RAISING CANES CHICKEN it really is so good every single time. This placed was packed on a Friday at 1:30, tons and tons of customers. We placed our Order at about 1:30 waited about 20 minutes and asked and they had lost our Order and wanted to know what we ordered so they could make it on the fly and they did. They are super courteous, even when I spilled my whole drink outside and were thankful it was outside considering how crowded it was. It's nice to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy lunch. Even with the blunder, I can't fault them as it was so dang busy and they fixed it as fast as they could. Their is a thing with pink hair and another with a red dyed beard that we're looking at my kids way to much. They are both male and support LGBTQ. From now on I will be going to this place by myself. I was very disappointed with my visit tonight. I called about 20 minutes prior to close to make sure I could still make it I was advised I as long as I made it before midnight I would be okay. I got there 10 minutes before closing and was told I could not order I asked for a manager and got to speak with Alicia. Is it busy? Yes... but is it efficient, also yes! They employees here are working hard and it shows. There are still a bunch of people in line but it went fast and the food came out pretty fast too! I tried this place about a month ago. It was busy, but I expected that. I find it bizarre that BOTH locations are built right next to a Chick-Fil-A. Well, even though I'm not a huge fan of Chick-Fil-A either, I find it to be a vastly superior restaurant. For starters, the menu is far more diverse. Raising Cane's really has nothing but chicken strips, chicken sandwiches made with chicken strips, Texas toast, fries, and coleslaw. While I pretty much just stated it, Raising Cane's has absolutely no healthy options. The closest thing would be coleslaw. I didn't try it, but I imagine it's mayonnaise based. They have no salads (unless you count coleslaw), minimal sides, and minimal condiments. They don't even have pickles. So, if you find yourself imagining them on your sandwich, they won't be there. All the sandwich will have is lettuce and their signature sauce. I must say, the sauce was rather forgettable. I found it to be neither sweet nor spicy...just kind of there. The chicken strips themselves are okay tasting, but not spicy enough for me. Raising Cane's doesn't offer a spicy variety either. The fries were better than I thought they would be upon first glance. As others have said, they seem to be the same fries you find on the frozen aisle in grocery stores, and they aren't very crispy. The highlight for me was checking out the history of the place while I was waiting in line. Apparently, it's named after the founder's dog. Will I return? I definitely won't anytime soon, and I definitely won't make a special trip to eat there. However, if I was hungry and faced with minimal eatery options, I could see myself eating there again. read more
