Food is good, the restaurant is not. I tried to come here last Friday about 5pm and their entire computer system went down. The "lady in charge" said it would be a few minutes and gave us free drinks. Yea... we waited an hour, for some reason, and they still weren't on. Couldn't online order, they could do nothing. Were happy to feed all the teenage boys "working" though. Ok so wanted to try them again. I thought about ordering on the app but didn't want to put all my card info in so just ordered in store. The app (who didn't know any better) said the wait was 10 minutes. I get in the store and almost everyone sitting down didn't have any food. They were getting the burgers ready but the sides were taking soooo long. The burgers would just sit in the window, waiting for their fry companion. I waited 25 minutes with a litteral screaming squirmy wormy baby. Why come here when McDonald's is like 2 minutes. I wanted a kaladi brothers shake too but didn't want to pay $9 for a soda sized cup. They made their sweet potatoes into waffle fries when they used to be regular shaped fries. I think that's what slowed them down. As delicious as their food is, I'm really really disappointed with the service I received around 8:30pm on a Sunday. I ordered online for pick up and drove 20 mins to get my order. When I entered, the staff were all mopping. Being in customer service myself, and having been a server and a barista years before, I completely understand needing to get ahead of closing tasks and duties. I don't know what was going on with the person behind the front counter....but I had to speak up to get her attention. She didn't even acknowledge me. First time trying this restaurant and I'm very impressed! The burgers were hot, juicy and full of flavor. The sweet potato waffle fries weren't very hot but still yummy nonetheless! We ended up eating inside but there were nice outside tables as well. The staff are friendly and helpful. Would've given 5 stars but unfortunately a handful of the tables inside were pretty dirty and we had to wipe our own table down with a napkin. While I'm waiting, I watch no less than four GrubHub and DoorDash delivery drivers walk in, only to be handed multiple cups so that the delivery person could get drinks. Meanwhile, the counter personnel go right back to looking at their phones. These workers are young people, teenagers. As with Smashburgers in other states I've frequented, this location has a local burger, the Alaska Kenai. The only real unique feature on this one is the Kenai cheese. Who knew? The Oreo shake was good, and for just under $7, it damn well better have been. Hagen-Dazs ice cream. No wonder. At least throw me a few more ounces. The smash fries were tasty as usual. I'm gluten free person and I always had a GF bun on smash burger. Last week I got a chicken hamburger and because I'm GF I couldn't order a crispy chicken burger. Then I order a grilled chicken burger. OMGoodness that was the worse chicken burger I ever had. The only good thing on this burger was the GF bun. Inside the burger was a ground chicken with no taste and very very extremely thin burger, two very thin slices of tomato, a teeny tiny piece of lettuce and almost no mayonnaise that's is it. To pay a price of ground chicken burger I could go to the grocery and buy ground chicken and make it my own burger with a lot more and better things inside the burger. We arrived for lunch on a Friday and were immediately greeted at the counter. I took a few brief seconds to peruse the menu boards, but my mind was already made up: Double bacon Smashburger is music to my ears. We got our double doubles (ha!) and a side of tots, plus 2 fountain drinks for $20. After placing our order, we chose a window seat in the sunshine - all the tables were cleared, clean and well-stocked with napkins and condiments. In a few short minutes, lunch arrived and I was impressed with how well the burgers were put together: stacked well, piping hot on a buttery and soft bun. One juicy bite later, I knew I was in trouble because I was gonna scarf this burger down in record time. Fresh lettuce and tomato, plus 2 juicy patties with crispy bacon - everything I wanted was there, cooked perfectly. And those buns! What can I say? I'm a fool for a soft, buttery bun that holds up against a juicy burger so solidly. And let's not skip the smash tots because they were so delicious, perfectly crispy with a hint of truffle and rosemary. Not much to say about Smashburger. They offer a pretty eclectic menu with lots of choices to be made... but ultimately nothing really sings. I tried a more traditional double, and my wife got their spicy Baja with guac. We also nabbed an order of their 'smashfries' which are seasoned with rosemary and garlic. The result? A couple burgers and some fries. At the price point we'd definitively always choose Tommy's. But, if we weren't on that side of town and had a hankering for a burger we'd likely just end up driving through our local McDonald's - something that better fits the price tag for expectations. We got take out last night (Colorado burgers and fries). I've been to this location a number of times over the years, and the burgers are very good, but messy. It takes a little while for the food to be made (which is fine, since fresh is better than fast), so keep that in mind. Our order took about 10 minutes. Ordering in the app is the way to go, though gift card payments can't be used in the app. I think the weakest point here are the smashfries--they taste great, but are swimming in oil. I placed 2 orders online on May 23rd at 4:25pm. I had my daughter picked up the order for me not anticipating there will be missing items in my order. She got home and I noticed that there was no Oreo Cookies & Cream and Strawberry shake. My daughter said she was only handed 2 brown bags when she picked it up. I called the store and spoken to the manager and I was told that they cannot do refund right now and offered to remake the shake but I have to pick it up today. I'm on a weird low-carb diet (even more strict on carbs that Adkins or Paleo, it's brutal) so I tried a burger here with no bun. I saw that you could get a lettuce wrap here, so that is what I did. I ordered online. What I got more closely resembled a salad with a hamburger patty on it. I'm still new to this carb-challenged life I found myself in, so I don't know if this is how its normally done or not. I customized a burger. I added bacon, goat cheese, and jalapenos among the normal hamburger fixins. The ingredients seemed really fresh. It is rare to find lettuce and tomatoes this healthy-looking in the 49th state! The actual meat was...just ok. Maybe I'm biased because I'm a "rare" guy. But this patty was very over-cooked. It was dried almost to jerky-levels. Three different occasions I have ordered hamburgers without red onions and each time they were served with onions. This last time I ordered through DoorDash and received onions on our burgers. This was not an easy night and an apology would have helped , or at least take responsibility. I've been eating Smashburger for about 10 years back in Texas and California. They're pretty consistent in quality and freshness. I love that they have tater tots. I get so tired of fries. Lots of customizable options. The lines can get pretty long and you'll wait a bit when that happens. They've messed up my order more than once which is always frustrating.
