Disappointed as the chicken was not the same. Dry and the breading was different (taste). Still like Canes just going to a different one

We were met with pleasant and helpful staff. Immediately when they heard we had never been there before they gave my granddaughter and I different samples of each kind of chicken ( blackened, spicy & bourbon)and their spicy steak fries. I could've just stood there and tried everything. It was so good! We settled on a meal each mine was bourbon chicken with mixed vegetables on the side and the spicy steak fries. I am not sure which chicken my granddaughter got. It was either bourbon or blackened, but it was also good. The large meal was $13 each & came with two sides & the main entrée. It is enough to feed at least three people. Generous portions for sure! Very filling and the flavor was just really great. I'm sure we'll be back again soon! I haven't been eating out as much because the food at a lot of fast food places is not very good but this was definitely good cooking!

I'd never heard of a bad KFC until I moved near Springfield and went to this Hillcrest Ave location. I ordered on the app 3 original drumsticks. That's it. Got there 3 min early and at 5 minutes after asked the status. "Oh just a few minutes." I waited. She began avoiding eye contact after 10 more min. At 20 more min I went to the counter. She had gone to the back and wouldn't come out. Asked someone else. All kinds of conversation back there, but no one explaining to me why I was now waiting a half hour for a few drumsticks. I had seen others come and go. When the order was finally ready, she gave it to me with no apology or explanation. I might drive another 15 minutes to the next nearest to avoid this place now that I've read all the other reviews of it.

I pulled into the drive thru and ordered an 8-piece box of extra crispy chicken. Not a meal just chicken. For $22.99 I was supposed to get 2 wings, 2 thighs, 2 legs & 2 breasts. That is $2.87 per piece! expensive I know but we were hungry and it was getting late (6:50PM.) I was told that they didn't have the chicken ready to fill our order and asked if I could wait. I agreed to wait and was directed to pull around to the front of the store. Approximately 20 min later an employee brought my order out to me. She was friendly and cordial, I thanked her and headed home for dinner. After opening the "Bucket" of chicken what we found was NOT the expected mix of chicken. Instead, what was in the bucket was 1 Breast, 2 Thighs, 0 wings, and 5 Legs. None of them cooked in extra crispy breading! I waited 20 minutes and paid $23 to get leftovers! As far as I am concerned KFC owes me at least $20 because what I was served was not worth more than $3! BEWARE! CHECK YOU ORDER BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE STORE! You might be surprised by what you find vs what you expect to. I called the store to complain and asked for the Manager. I was put on hold and 5 minutes later they hung up on me. I think the owner of this store might want to keep a close eye on the books because it is likely they are being cooked better than the chicken.

When I got out there was the smell of weed and a kid in a popeyes uniform stuck his head out with his pipe and waving at people in the drive thru. He wasn't even hiding it. I got in the restaurant and ordered. I was waiting a while for my food when the kid, apparently on break came back to make my sandwich. When I finally got the food the sandwich was slapped together with half the bun empty. I doubt that I would go back again.

I confess, I also fell victim to the recent "hullaballoooo" over Popeye's chicken sandwich, and decided to see what all the fuss was about. Actually, it's pretty good, but the wait here is terrible. I don't really think it's the fault of this particular location, they were doing the best they could, but I think they have a pretty slow order "prep" process. Like most fast food places, they also seem to attend first to their drive-thru customers, no matter how long the folks in the dining room have been waiting. I don't know if they prepare very small batches of chicken at a time, if they were missing some people, or the success of the chicken sandwich is just more than they can handle, but you CAN'T come here if you're in a rush. I waited nearly 20 minutes at 7pm on a weeknight... The sandwich was pretty good, order was correct, the cashier was apologetic, but unless I really have time to KILL, I probably won't be back any time soon. BUT, generally speaking, this is NOT a terrible choice for a LEISURELY bite to eat on the S. Limestone strip...

Yesterday i ordered a 16 piece family The side dishes were what I ordered. But when i opened the box to fix dinner for my little niece and nephews . It was getting dark and started to rain and it's about 12 miles each way. I did call and was told the manager was busy and didn't have time to talk. Of all the parts of a chicken the livers and gizzards are the most disposable and CHEAPEST yet they charge a premium for them and they give you LESS food. A large is like a 1/3 of what it used to be. I don't know what the excuse is for this change? Inflation? Covid? Corporate Greed? Who knows? Times certainly have changed. On the other hand Lees cooking technique of their livers and gizzards are UNMATCHED because they pressure cook them which makes them buttery, tender, and melt in your mouth. Decades ago Springfield and Dayton area KFC's used to do them that way but removed them from all their locations and menus. Outside of this everything else there was PERFECT. Chicken and biscuits were piping hot and fresh. Potato Wedges are breaded, seasoned, and fried to perfection. Courteous staff and speedy service. If ya know ya know that LEES IS THE PLACE for that home style taste and flavors that don't seem mass produced out a factory or from Gordon Food Services like OTHER major chains.
