Canes is a great place for some chicken tenders and amazing crinkle fries. I got the 3 Finger combo that comes with Texas toast and canes sauce. I don't eat toast so they gave me extra fries!! The place is clean and the staff are super friendly. The line moves fast and they have a great selection of different size combos. The drink station has great teas and sodas with free refills. Stopped by the Raising Cane's in Sunset Valley today to redeem my free lemonade coupon that I received at the Trail of Lights run. Raising Cane's is a U.S. based restaurant chain specializing in chicken fingers. There was lots of available parking out front. The store was clean and well maintained. The staff who took my order was very friendly and efficient. Had no issues using my coupon offer. Lemonade was served cold fresh perfectly tart. Not sure if they offer free refills. Prior to the Raising Cane's opening in Sunset Valley, the only other Cane's in South Austin was the Riverside location--which was a death sentence waiting to happen. So when the Sunset Valley spot opened, I could not have been more happier. I always order the Box: a four-piece chicken tender combo with one Cane's sauce, cole slaw, crinkle cut fries & a buttery Texas toast. The Cane's menu keeps it simple--tenders or a chicken sandwich. No overwhelming, complicated orders here. I love the crinkle-cut fries and chicken tenders as they're always both lightly salted, soft and fluffy in the inside with a perfect crisp on the outside. I think it's cool that there's a nice looking location that popped up in Sunset Valley, but I don't get the hype. The crispy breading didn't stay on the tenders and it's just like greasy. I'll stick to Wingstop, or CFA, or just frozen tenders from H-E-B. Or, Hattie B's is pretty good or Tumble 22 which is excellent. Nice location, and well decorated inside. The food is good thought the chicken tender sizes were very inconsistent some were very large and others were pretty tiny. This location was busy when we came. If you're dining-in, you may struggle to find a table. If you're sensitive to light, know there are 3 disco balls which could cause some discomfort so you may want to stick to the drive-thru. This location does whatever it wants and will give you what it feels like giving and it's always the wrong order. I'm semi-convinced it's an experiment to see what they can get away with. They freestyle and you just have to take it. It's the norm to receive a sprite with no ice when you ordered lemonade. Don't ever expect Cane's sauce or ketchup. The later you go, the worse it gets. There seems to be a lot of socializing between employees, especially the later it is at night. It's gotten to be a running joke with their tricks and ridiculously wrong orders. I think they hope you'll drive away so they don't have to make more coleslaw or fry more chicken. Today, I ordered a 3 Finger Combo with French Fries, Texas Toast, a Lemonade, and an Extra Cane's sauce. It's all on the receipt below. I used to get the Box Combo, but stopped months ago because this free-styling location always forgets my coleslaw. Sarah handed me a bag tonight with 3 chicken fingers and 1 Cane's sauce only. That's a steep $11.34 for 3 pieces of dry chicken. She couldn't even be plus'Ed to give me the extra Cane's sauce I paid for, much less my toast, French fries or ketchup. I would've normally driven away and then gone hungry all night, but I know this location's antics, so I checked my bag. When I went back through the drive-thru, the teen cashier sighed and said okay. Then, Sarah handed me a new bag and tried to wave me off as fast as she could. She told me they wouldn't take back the 3 chicken fingers they'd already given me and closed the window hurriedly. I didn't even have time to see the contents of the new box before she closed the window and it contained french fries, Texas toast, and one cane sauce. I guess management doesn't know how they freestyle it here, so she was trying to send me away before anyone noticed. Not a great look. I won't be back. This isn't the first time. This is the norm. I've eaten at Raising Cane's before at other locations. This one just opened and I've been there twice. They really have some of the best chicken fingers you can find anywhere. Their frieds are good too. During this visit my wife and I were pleasantly surprised to be asked if we were doing OK and if we needed anything. Pretty unusual at a fast food place (especially these days). This marvelous woman, Amanda, was just so helpful and pleasant, it made the visit more enjoyable. A nice change from the usual "I don't care at all" attitude we usually see. read more

From what I hear, this is a brand new Raising Cane's location in south Austin. Which is a good thing, because I live south of Austin and I love Raising Cane's! We stopped by here on a Wednesday after 8pm and the place was poppin'. Huge line at the drive-thru, lots of employees on deck, also employees being trained. So pretty clearly, there's demand for the establishment in the new location. The drive-thru has a dual lane system. Some impatient person cut us off merging back down to one lane, which resulted in some confusion at the payment counter. We ended up paying for a ticket that wasn't ours... and happened to be cheaper. We pointed out our confusion at the price and they called the MOD over, who (in the interest of efficiency and customer service) declared that we could enjoy our accidental $5 discount, LOL. Smart way to handle it. Everyone we interacted with was pleasant. Our meals were hot and delicious, as we'd expect. The wait did take a LONG time, but they were swamped and doing their best. Didn't get to see the inside (yet), but we'll be back. The place looked fancy and clean and new! read more

Skimped on fries, soggy lettuce, lack of dipping sauce options, and charging for a single side of sauce that should come with a chicken sandwich meal. Chick fil a down the street will give you whatever sauce you want, is less expensive, and produce tastes fresher. read more

I picked up lunch yesterday around noon. I went through the drive thru which was busy but seemed to move quickly. I ordered the 3-finger pack, which is 3 strips, sauce, bread, fries and a drink. The chicken was hot and juicy, I thought it was really good, the bread was ok, the fries were overly salty for my taste but seemed to be cooked perfectly, not over or under done. I ordered a coke but received sweet tea, this was disappointing as I have soda maybe twice a month, so its a treat when I order it. I also noticed that their red drink cups bleed. The cup leaves red circles on whatever surface you set them, this could cause a problem for some people. I will go back next time I want chicken. 4.5 rating due to salty fries, wrong drink and bleeding cup. read more
