Being a Syracuse student, I've struggled finding restaurants in this area that I would describe as exceptional. Raj Saffron house on the other hand, is more than exceptional. This was one of the first Indian restaurants I've tried, and it opened up my appreciation for Indian Cuisine. Since the first time I tried it, I haven't had Indian food even remotely close to how good it is here. If you like Indian cuisine, I cannot recommend this place enough, it is so authentic and flavorful. The only criticism that I have is that the staff can be a little over-attentive when dining in, but it all comes from good intent, as they are all super friendly. 10/10 recommend this place! This was the best experience we have ever had at a restaurant! The hospitality was something we've never experienced before. This is one of the few restaurants that were open past 11PM. Although we came close to closing time, the staff were still very attentive, we were never rushed, & our water never ran low. All of the food was delicious! I originally was going to order the fried rice, however, I was suggested to try the lamb since this was my first time, and I am so glad that I did! Not only was the food amazing, hot, & fresh, but the aesthetic and display was superior. It is clear that they pay close attention to detail and garnishing. We were even offered rice pudding as a dessert. Additionally, the atmosphere of the restaurant was very welcoming, the low jazz music in the background was the cherry on top. This is an incredible hidden gem in Westcott district! I was pleasantly surprised to find electric car parking, as well as some regular spots in the lot. This is the perfect place for a date night or family dinner. While small, there is tons of seating and the ambiance is gorgeous. Service was very fast and food came out STEAMING hot. When I tell you the food is incredible, I mean it. I definitely recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala and the Butter Chicken. You must order a Mango Lasi and Naans. Went there for lunch today . Place was quiet and essentially empty which I attribute to school being out of session. Food was excellent (chicken tikka masala and bindi masala), service prompt and attentive, and they gave us a free dessert (rice pudding) to try. Five stars. read more

This was the best service I have ever gotten at a restaurant. The complimentary dessert and teas, the consistent water refills, and the pumpkins we got to take home! The food was incredible! I highly recommend the Garlic Naan bread and the Chicken Tikka Masala, but everything was delicious and gorgeously plated. Everything! We were greeted enthusiastically and personally (our local friend had told them about her out of town friends who were coming to Saffron House). When they saw that we'd brought wine, glasses appeared. The menu is diverse, and they were happy to explain any dish. We had vegetarian samosas, bel puri, tandoori chicken, saag paneer, eggplant bathri , and tandoori naan. All were really tasty-- the tender, flavorful chicken ranked highly among the tandoori chicken we've tasted anywhere. We're already making plans for our next visit. read more

Just received my order, they knew it was being delivered to a hotel and didn't include utensils!!! How am I supposed to eat rice and chicken with no utensils!? I called and asked why they didn't include it. And apparently now you have to call them and tell them to!! Even though they knew it's a hotel!? Ridiculous. Fantastic food and even better service. My wife and I visited without a reservation on Friday night and we were seated immediately despite a packed house. Despite the crowd, our food came out in a timely manner and we were even comped two masala chais. The lamb dish we had was great, as was everything else we ordered. At the end of the night, we were comped a rice pudding. Not sure what we did to receive such excellent service, but we're happy we went and we'll be back soon. Highly recommend read more

What a delightful dinner out! The service was just divine - and the food was delicious. We were treated to a cup of complementary chai tea and a beautifully served rice pudding for dessert.
