It's a must to have Nicaraguan food when in Miami. Although HubbyStanks is Dominican, I've been to several LatAm countries, have eaten all types of latin foods, (after a while some could feel the same) but Nica food has always been a standout for me in Latin american cuisine ...possibly due to heavy use of naranja agria. Don't sleep on nica food...you'll notice the difference! So to satisfy my Nica craving instead of going to my fave hole in the wall on Flagler we tried Rakachaca Grill. It was good, but I have to say I was disappointed in the gallo pinto. For me Nicaraguan gallo pinto is the best rice and beans combo ever...this one tasted like a Cuban, Dominican, Puerto Rican could have made it...which made it arroz con frijoles...and not gallo pinto IMO. Thankfully the carne asada and queso frito was outstanding. I was very disappointed in the syrupy maracuyá juice. I was really hoping for the fresh passion fruit taste but instead it was from concentrate. I'd still recommend this place...but I'll go back to my old hole in the wall for my perfect nica fix! read more

It's basically like a corner diner. The high end food. I've only been here for lunch but it is top notch. A meal will cost you about $15.00 with a drink. Decent Nicaraguan joint. Most of the food looked great, it was tough to decide on a dish. I ended up going with the traditional meal of carne asada, gallo pinto, tostones, yuca, fried cheese, and maduros to go with a large maracuya. The meat was solid, gallo pinto was on the dry side, yuca was good, the tostones I could have gone without, again dry with no seasoning. The cheese was the star of the show for me. This place has a lot of potential it was very clean and the service was decent. I just wish that their most iconic dish was better. A little sauce would've helped tremendously. My fiancé is Nicaragua , so needless to say this type of food is one of our favorites. We have tried many places that have this style food, but this place is BY FAR my favorite. Their steak is perfectly cooked so it's crispy around the edges but still tender in the middle. The fried queso is unreal- so plump and perfect. Their yuca was nice and crispy ! This place is great! I will be back for lunch again! You get a ton of food for an unbeatable price. You get rice with a choice of meat (chicken, beef, pork, seafood) and two sides. Today I went with arroz Moro with carne asada. My sides were fried cheese and maduros. Then I went with the regular side salad. All of this and a coke for $12! Restaurant is clean and organized. Food is great and my steak was cooked to perfection. Juicy and pink in the middle just like I like it. Staff speaks both English and Spanish. I Love this placccceeee. My favorite fritanga in Miami hands down. One thing that separates this Fritanga from others in Miami is how clean it is compared to the others. They put real pride into the presentation of their food and outlook of the restaurant. Also the servers there are extremely kind compared to others. However my favorite part of this location is the foood. Its soo good, and so much variety. My favorite is the creamy chicken and glazed salmon. First impression when I walked in was that the place was very clean! The Customer Service over the phone was just as good as when I arrived to pick up my order. Parking might be a little bit of a hassle bc it seems to be street parking (unless they have spaces behind the restaurant which I didn't see). Egress and parking is effortless. Staff is very well mannered and welcoming, food is displayed hot bar style. Although pricey is on the higher end of Fritanga style restaurants, these guys are making a statement and overall doing a great job. Quality and portions are exceptional, not left to be desired. If you want good food and in a timely manner, please enjoy your visit! Very generous portions, temperature and appearance will make you come back. Love this place the price is a lil bit more but I think it reflects the quality I actually crave the maduros from here they're never dry the things ive tried here that I can remember well were the pollo con queso (chicken parm style) & of course the asada con gallo pinto, don't go here around 7:30 or 8 because they'll be sold out of most options. My favorite Fritanga spot in this area. It's much cleaner than Pinolandia and Yambo. They serve a lot, are incredibly affordable, have an insane selection and the employees are courteous. The food also does look very fresh. They usually have ALOT of people working at a time so even though there's a line sometimes, they do have this place humming like well oiled machine, so I've never waited too long. Highly recommended spot. It is a Fritanga so don't expect a lot of sit down space and it can get hectic inside but such a gem of a place, really hard to say anything bad about this place. If I had to find some cons about this place. Delivery - They say they do delivery but I've never have been able to get anything delivered. I try to do delivery but they either are too busy and can't and sometimes they tell me they only do delivery on Sundays. So if they found a way to do UberEats that would be amazing. Parking - There is only street parking. I've never had an issue finding found but I'm sure if it's busy it may be hit and miss. Either way HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. read more

Second time going there, carne asada is very good if a little over salted but herb flavor in marinade was nice, maduros great, queso frito very good, but the gallo pinto was old and dry, maybe 8-9 hours old, horrible. Yuca fries excellent,. worst part of the experience, far more disturbing than the rice that looks like any little havana walker has seen pouring out of a discarded styrofoam container on the street is the nasty personality of the cashier. i will never go back, death row inmates have more customer friendly cafeteria help than that woman. Plenty of options and delicious Nica classics like: Gallo Pinto (Rice and red beans), carne asada (grilled steak), queso frito (fried cheese), puerco asado (grilled pork), etc. Very good tasting food at really low prices. When I go, I usually order the gallo pinto, carne asada, potato salad, queso frito, and salad for about $11. This feeds two of us! Definitely a place to come try. I've been to every fritanga as a phase, but this is not a normal one. i went because someone compared it cana brava - which it is not even close. This has been probably the most non-standard fritanga ive been too... if you want traditional fritanga for carne asada - this is not really the place. as everyone says - it is cleaner than all other fritangas, but it doesn't make up for it in other ways. 1) location - is pretty difficult since it's on corner of two 1 way streets. Cana brava parking is a nightmare - but this is just as hard to get to (and construction dirt/gravel roads from flagler construction doesnt help). Overall cana brava is actually still easier to park across the st. 2) food portion - it is smaller than most fritangas (they have nice to go plates, but they are not even practical the way they use them). They give you less rice and no salad. they shred their salad into a slaw. Reality is, fritangas give you too much food, so portion is still okay - just less when comparing to other fritangas. 3) price - $8.99 - i really don't mind it, but you can't advertise your food as 7.99 on a ton of flyers and marketing inside then charge me 8.99 4) Time - cana brava is crazy during lunch time, but the line moves. This place has 4 people helping customers and 1 cashier - where all guests get bottle necked at cashier. I waited 20 mins to pay for my food, while employees help guest instead of cashier. this place actually takes longer. overall I paid more money for less food and same wait time as cana brava. no salad, not hot sauce. i hope this place does better as owner cares -but she needs to be taught how to run a business. Little things like your two different types of serving plates is a waste of time She worries about stocking food when no one is in line instead of expediting the checkout line. this kind of stuff drives me crazy read more

Get there quick before everyone else finds out about it. The carne Asada was marinated perfect and juicy. The queso frito soooo good.
