This Ralph's is A-OK. Not great, but not terrible either. Located in the Hillcrest Park Shopping Center, this shopping center is definitely older and in dire need of a total redo. But for what it is able to offer, it offers a decent shopping experience, making this Ralphs my preferred go to lately. I've had some bad service run-ins lately at the Brea Ralphs on Imperial Hwy Route 90. The plus side of this Ralphs location is how close it is to a Ralphs Fuel Center. If you shop Ralphs frequently enough, you can leverage those Ralphs customer loyalty points into fuel discounts. Realistically you could be looking at 20 cents off a gallon, which can sometimes place you to a better price than even the Costco Gasoline stations scattered all over Southern California. As far as the store itself, inside there are all the stations you expect to find in a Ralphs. Front end, bakery, deli, meat/seafood, produce, and a bunch of grocery/frozen aisles in between. With that said, for those of you who come from different Kroger stores like Fry's Food and Grocery (Arizona) or King Sooper (Colorado) don't expect there to be a Home & Garden section or an Electronics section let alone Furniture department. I have my theories why they don't exist in most Southern California Ralph's stores, but let's save that for another time for discussion. All in all, it's a grocery store with decent offerings backed by one of the most lucrative grocery chain names in the USA. The extra star comes from the extra effort Ralphs puts into necessary perks like discounted gas, much-needed renovations and diverse product offerings make this Ralphs attractive to shop at. read more

The worst. For 26 years we used this pharmacy. When they first opened they were so good. Over the years they had change of staff which is normal. Then one day (maybe 10+ years ago) my doctor prescribed cholesterol Meds. One pill. I get the prescription and it's for rosuvastatin. The label says 1mg. The pill is no bigger than a grain of rice. For 10+ years I am taking this pill and thinking what is this little thing going to do but kept taking it. Fast forward new insurance in 2024 new pharmacy. I fill my rosuvastatin, it comes back with a normal size pill and it says 30mg. I argue with the new pharmacist but she explains this particular medication does not come in 1mg. Today I go to get my pneumonia shot, I need due to asthma. New pharmacist ask if I got shot last year I say yes. It's not in the system. I remember the day I got this shot because I got a total of 4 shots that day. They never entered it in the system. I have the paperwork and I am going to find it and see what can be done. I did not keep an old bottle of the rosuvastatin so can't prove anything there. Switch in insurance was a blessing in disguise. But I'm wondering what else did the fill incorrectly and/or other shots (Covid etc) did they not put in the system. If there was a way for 0 stars that's what I would use. So if you get your meds from them make sure it's correct. Double check with you physician. With everything sent in electronically there's no paperwork to read before giving it to the wacky pharmacy. read more

The kind and accommodating pharmacist there has made my life easier. Easy to pick up prescriptions while shopping.

So I come to this store because of work. The people who work here are racist they look at me like I'm dirty I guess it's because I'm a beautiful brown woman. At first I thought I was the only one but apparently I'm not lots of my coworkers say they feel uncomfortable going because the employees are not helpful if you are a minority. I asked the meat counter man for the bathroom code and he threw a box on the counter and said nothing to me he just looked at me with disgust. This type of behavior is ridiculous. So sad how people can act this way. read more

Alright fried chicken, a little bit dry though from what I've heard people say. One complaint about the cakes. Their writing icing is not good quality. Do not ask them to write your name on a cake. No shame on them because they are not professional cake icers lol. I really do appreciate the effort and am thankful the worker took the time to do this though. Thank you, but no thank you. The cakes are still delicious and you can taste the quality in them. But, their Starbucks employees are very nice, definitely go here for Starbucks and not the other one across the street. So overall, don't ask them to write anything on your cakes but get their fried chicken and Starbucks. Here is a picture of what I received. Not exactly the neatest but again, I don't blame them. I will start off by saying that this location is not my normal store. I was stopping here as a favor for my mother who requested I pick her up some groceries on my way home for work. Now even my own store (Vons) has to deal with the occasional people standing outside the doors trying to sell cookies or sign a petition or even pan handlers but to my surprise, THIS store allows Spectrum Sales people INSIDE the store. These people are trained in hard core sales tactics and would not take a simple "I am not interested " or even a more blunt "please leave me alone". I literally had to leave the deli department to get away one who told me the store authorize and condone them being there. If I wanted internet, I certainly wouldn't go looking for it at the grocery store. I have since cancelled my spectrum account and I will never shop at a Ralph's Grocery store again. I welcome the store manager or corporate to respond to this review explaining their stupid strategy now. I look forward to reading it. read more

I'm writing this review for the pharmacy based on getting my prescriptions filled over the last few years. Being in the medical field I am compelled to write this review. Few months back, I came in with a paper prescription for a sleeping medication which is a controlled substance. The pharmacist took one look at the prescription and begins to examine it closely. First question he asks is why am I filling the prescription there because the address is in Tustin and the doctor is in La Mirada. (Background information: I have a mailing address in Tustin because I lived there and kept the P.O. Box ;but I have a physical address in Fullerton) Mind you I have been getting the same prescription filled for over 2 years there and I was asked the same question when I started filling prescriptions there. However, this time is a paper prescription. I understand they have a job to do, but he should have started the conversation with have you been a patient here before. Could have looked me up in the system and seen my physical address was in Fullerton. Also, if he thought the prescription was not real, he could have called the physician listed and asked if he had written the prescription. After I saw his behavior, I told him I have been a customer at this pharmacy for the past years. He looks me up and says, I can't fill your prescription because you have one pill left. I said I don't have any pills left, I took my last pill the night before. He makes a snarky remark and says he will fill my prescription but to come back later. I said fine. When I returned to pick up my prescription I decided to ask Why he had profile me as an addict and why didn't he just look me up in the CURES list? (CURES list is a tool used by hospitals, doctors, and pharmacies to look up a patient controlled substance prescriptions: it states who prescribed the medication, when it was filled, where it was filled, and amount of pills given, to prevent prescription abuse. The pharmacist states I did look you up. To which I replied and you didn't find anything because this is the only pharmacy I get my prescription filled, right? He says that is correct. I told him he needed to do better and not assume everyone who comes in with a paper prescription is a criminal. He says well it has been a long time since I had seen a paper prescription. I said I'm well aware most prescriptions are sent electronically, however the doctor indicated on the prescription itself that his electronic health record wasn't working. Thus the reason for writing the paper prescription. Technology is not 100% reliable. I even asked what happens to patients who get prescriptions near their job and not where they live, will you refuse to fill them? No answer was provided to my question. I am well aware there is a serious opioid crisis. However, There are people who still have a need for controlled substances that are not opioids, like sleeping pills. Avoid problems and don't get your prescriptions fill here. Go to a pharmacy where they treat patients with respect. read more

I was lost, and was on a mission to find me some coo-whip. Walking around the store frantically looking for the coo-whip. I finally circle around again after a 4th time and stood in front of the milk section thinking it should be here. I come to find some whipped cream in a can. I thought "This is probably better that coo-whip. It'll taste different on my waffles, but Ayyy ! it doesn't hurt to try new things". Then, a kind blue eyed hard working man named Jim (who bakes by the way) came my way and asked me if I needed help looking for anything. He gave me pointers on making my own whipped cream but also helped me look for the coo-whip. We found it finally, but I had already struck gold with the heavy whipped cream in a can. We both agreed it would probably taste better. With smiles under our masks, we went our separate ways. Thank you Jim read more

Made two trips up here so far from Stanton to get my prescriptions. First time they claimed they hadn't received it yet. The second time was in response to two text messages received from them indicating my prescriptions had been filled. Upon arrival they said that they hadn't been filled. That they needed 4 hours to fill them and that I should come back later. The pharmacy worker was rude and stated that the text said to call them. She pulled them up on her computer screen and they said nothing of the sort yet she continued to argue that they did and even if the text I got didn't say so that I should have known to call. This was my first time using this pharmacy and it will be my last. They desire NO STARS. It was a very bad experience!!! read more

I just transferred my Mom's prescriptions to this location and I am very happy I did. It was very easy. I called and Alex told me what information he needed to complete the transfer process. I have had many questions for Alex on a few occasions and every time he was very patient, kind, and knowledgeable and answered all my questions and even helped me through my first discount RX card purchase. Alex is very helpful and easy to talk to. I honestly don't understand why the ratings here aren't much better. I highly recommend this pharmacy and Thank-you Alex! read more

Pharmacy rating only! Ralph's in general is ok, but DON'T take your Rx's there. The pharmacy is super disorganized and in general, does not seem to care much. I ran out of my acid reflux medicine and my blood pressure medicine close to the same time; I contacted the pharmacy ahead of time. They wouldn't do any follow-up calls to get the Dr's renewed prescriptions and when I called to tell them that I called the Dr's office too- the young woman on the phone cut me off, didn't care that I was trying to explain you can't just leave a vm and call it good when it's a daily maintenance drug. Very rude, the pharmacist was even ruder only giving me ONE pill for blood pressure. They just didn't care. Trust me, take your business elsewhere! read more

I was told the store manager doesn't care if people wear them at all by members of the staff and that since the daytime crew doesn't enforce the policy that the nighttime crew doesn't feel they have to. I went in to fill a prescription. The pharmacist said that he couldn't fill it today. He gave me a reason that did not make sense. They have very clean and well organized aisles. Their self checkout machines were also really nice. I was there to pick up a drink and some snacks. I was in and out in a jiffy using one of the self checkout machines. Keep in mind that there are no more free plastic bags, so remember to bring your own reusable shopping bags or you'll need to buy bags there. read more

Always the best experience ever. Today I called in to find out if they had my favorite beer (Red Stripe Lager Beer) Daren answered and within a few seconds he gets back on the phone and confirms that they have the beer and it's cold. Come on down! When I get in I only find one:/ Jacob courtesy clerk was very helpful in taking the time to check the back for me to see if there was anymore. After a few minutes comes back with a sad face to say they didn't have anymore :/ One best thing was that they gave me the sell price of $6.99 per six pack! This is a smaller store compared to the Ralphs in Brea. It's ok for a quick stop but I don't do my main shopping at this store. Security is non existent or woefully inadequate here. I've seen theft happen here multiple times and when I bring it to the stores attention, they just shrug and say the door alarm can't catch everybody. If I'm standing in the bread aisle and notice someone is off and acting strange, maybe an actual security employee would notice the same? One time I witnessed 2 strung out people bang on the bathroom door in the back of the store and tell the person to "get the f*ck out." So there's that. Bottom line: I don't feel very safe after a certain time in this store, so I do the bulk of my shopping elsewhere. read more

A reasonably well managed store with some of the checkers being more helpful than others: I would single out Suzanne, Aurora, London, and Steve amongst others. You generally don't have to wait long in the deli department. The only problem I see there is that the selection is somewhat monotonous and needs to be varied. This Ralph's is too small and simply can't be improved. Multiple calls to managers have proven fruitless. The deli can't keep their fried foods stocked. The area managers suggestion is for the customer to go in and ask them to drop the chicken and wait. If you feel this is a waste of time, then go to Stater Bros who for some reason has no problem keeping their chicken stocked. I have called in 5 times only for the area manager to tell me I'm not experiencing the issues because Leo, the manager told her there was no problem. This store is ridiculous. Please close and allow a store that cares about its customers go in. Maybe a Trader Joe's would serve the area better. read more

Marissa is also a super great employee always helpful even when she's busy she goes out of her way to make sure she can be of service. All the staff here is pretty welcoming. First time at this store today. Loved the store: very organized, good sales, and multiple options of high quality. Didn't like the customer next to me at register, with an attitude problem when an employee made a mistake: some people obviously think they are privileged. Didn't like the cart lady: she rolled her carts right behind my car while I was backing up, so I rolled back into stall and waited until she noticed me where she got an attitude and signaled at me to move out of the way - attitude. I did appreciate the employee that made a mistake at the register: she maintained her cool, apologized and fixed the problem - this lady gives hope to people shopping at this Ralph's. read more

I used to shop at stater bros but after coming here I will never go back to stater bros. the employees are extremely friendly and helpful and I actually enjoy grocery shopping now. Everything is always so nice and organized! I also love that I can get a coffee and cruise the isles. Always find something new to try every time. I was looking for a cookie cake that the store appeared to be out of, but when I asked her not only did she help me by bringing a cookie from the back but she also decorated it for my friends birthday! DELI RATING ONLY: I went to the DELI today and wound up waking right out due to the employees lack of food handling knowledge. I didn't get his name, but he was a younger, clean shaven kid. I asked for my EverRoast and he asked if I wanted a slice for my son. Sure. He handed me the slice but the wrapper he handed to me had blood on it From meat. I didn't notice at first then as I was rolling up the slice, I noticed. The guy was over there slicing away. And you can clearly see that the deli slicer was dirty. He brings the meat over and that paper is COVERED in blood. And he doesn't ever notice. So I tell him and said to please start over, change your gloves. He throws away what he cut. Takes his gloves off. The other machine was dirty too. He grabs a new ever roast, sits it on top of the counter unopened (thank goodness) then grabs a spray bottle from under the table. He puts on gloves, grabs paper towels and starts to clean the less dirty of the 3 machines. (One was super clean and the other lady was slicing cheese on it) after he wipes it down, with the same gloves still on, he opens the meat, and lays it on the machine and starts to slice. No, no! I stop him and tell him he didn't change his gloves, wash his hands, nothing. He says, "oh, I'm still cleaning the bottom of the machine. I was just cutting off the top of the meat." Omg. I'm sure my jaw dropped. Do your employees not go through food handlers class?? Wtf. There's no way I'm getting any deli meat from you because you put CLEANER FROM YOUR GLOVES ALL OVER IT! Sorry, Ralphs. But it takes one person to ruin it and this kid did. I can't go back to your deli. read more

I brought an plastic angels mug for my wife and it turned out it was cracked on the inside and I brought it back to have it returned I didn't have the receipt so I asked the customer service lady if I could have just exchanged it she said no problem so I took about 45 minutes to an hour to go shopping did all my shopping went to the line where I was told that since it doesn't ring up they won't exchange it so I wasted almost an hour and now they are going to waste probably an hour putting all my groceries back because the woman behind the counter at the customer service didn't check to see if it rang up in the first place I bought it there so there should be no problem, very angry read more
