It's really tough for me to give this store 2 stars. I walked in a was shocked! What a beautiful store! Everything looked so clean and organized. And the store was HUGE! Now.. I just need to use the restroom and I can start my journey! What a disgrace to the store! There was urine ON THE SEAT!!! How do females even do that!!! You're sitting down! There is never anyone around when you need help and when you find someone and make eye contact with them it's like they have spotted a wild lion and start to slowly but surely walk away. I have to say the the best part of this Ralph's are the cracks on the floor that are filled up with some sort of paste that looks like it's always fresh and therefore makes it look like there is coffee spilled on the floor. This guy tried touching it and I'm more than sure other people have too lol They should have another four self checkout stands so that people who only come and buy one item can walk in get their milk and walk out because some people are just a little out of their league when they try to use the self checkout LIKE SERIOUSLY! scan touch swipe people I've seen babies scan items on the self checkout! I love shopping at Ralph's. It's a great market, but had a bad experience there this past week with a product they sell there. I usually buy Nestle's flavored water and have never had any problems with it. But this time I decided to try Kroger's strawberry water. What a big mistake! I drank two bottles (only 10 oz. each) the first day and came down with food poisoning that night. I was sick all night, throwing up two times. The next day I put one bottle in my dog's water dish and she got very sick herself later that day, throwing up several times all over the house. I've never seen her so sick before. A word to the wise - Don't buy any flavored bottled water from Kroger's! Just read all the contents they put into each bottle and then see if you want to take your chances. Don't do their "drive up" ordering. I've done it 4 times now and every single time I get a call to let me know that my order is A COUPLE to a few hours delayed so yeah my original pick up time of noon I didn't get a call back until 3pm to pick it up. Horrible. Fix your system. If you can't fill the orders on time don't give the option or ordering to people!! it can ruin lunch, a birthday party or dinner plans.. which it did in my case! read more

I actually really like this store. The staff is generally really nice and helpful. That said it can be hit or miss at the deli. There are a few people that are fantastic and then there's the ones that hide out in the back. Today I stopped by st noontime. Seriously there was one person helping guests. At noon. I had to finally ask a lady to help me because the man in front of me had a huge order and his guy disappeared into the back to get something. I waited a good 15-20 minutes to get helped. I actually had to ask a lady from the back to help me named Cecilia who was amazing!!! It was not her job at all but she could tell I was upset. Thank you Cecilia. I really appreciate it! read more

Management needs an education on face masks. Unsafe staff use of masks. I shopped there Sunday morning (27th) at 6:30 AM. Half of staff were wearing face masks that didn't cover their noses. Might as well not wear one at all or over their butts for all the good they will do. I won't be shopping their anymore. read more

My father works for the Ralphs Warehouse in SoCal so using the rewards card while shopping saves us tons of money on store goods and my fave thing about the store is the Mega Event Sale they have every now and then - bigger savings more selections! read more

So I wanted to purchase the Alaskan King Crab, on Tuesday it was $21.99. I called the store and spoke to Jesse (in the meat department) and was told that it would be half off on Wednesday. Wednesday came and I was was told that the same crab was now $19.99, someones math is off. When I spoke to the same person (Jesse) I was told that he doesn't know who I spoke to but if it were him the price that he had given me was a mistake. Well he lied and so did the ad that said the crab and shrimp would be 50% off. I spoke with corporate and was told that management could change the price if they chose to but when I spoke to the manager he refused to honor the price. I'm done with Ralphs! read more

I too stopped shopping at RALPHS This was my neighborhood store for past 10 years. Anywhere from 6AM -9AM Sunday through Sunday, there are 10plus employees just hanging around and I have to check myself out??? NOT at SMART n FINAL & SAMS CLUB, not to mention VONS!! Recently the store had a grand reopening and I brought it up to a bunch of well dressed plain clothes employees, once again just hanging around talking amongst each other....Is it common to have so many employees around 6-9AM hanging around and I have to bag my own groceries, they commented at least one register should be open....but 1 is not... I don't shop there anymore nor do I get my prescriptions there read more

The Ralphs Grocery store near Hawthorne and 182nd needs to retrain its employees on how to handle self-checkout problems. We go to the self-checkout station with just a few items. Something goes wrong with the machine. So we press for attendant help. A recorded voice goes out saying "help is on the way." So far so good. A little time goes by and the recorded voice announces again. Then an employee comes towards us but is intercepted by another patron at another station just in front of us. Ok we understand sometimes this happens. But then the employee goes away just as the recorded voice says again "help is on the way" but does not return. Instead, she starts to go to a regular checkout line. No one said they will be with us to at least acknowledge we need help but may not get to us right away. Meanwhile, the recorded voice announces yet another time that "help is on the way." So we have to announce aloud that we need assistance. That same employee comes back and sounds sweet as pie, and then helps us. But due to the time lag and intervening circumstances, it sure looked like the employee did not want to help the customer until an awkward situation had to transpire. As a result, It gives the customer the impression that their patronage is not valued. If next time a similar experience occurs, don't be surprised if someone leaves all their intended purchases at the station and goes to a different supermarket. read more

I love how big this Ralph's is. I also love the fresh sushi bar. Perfect for a quick lunch or dinner. What I am really not a fan of is the parking lot chaos and the homelessness problem. There are many homeless people sleeping near the water refill machines and harassing you for money. It can be very scary sometimes. read more

We had a 5PM appointment for picup. We called the number at the pickup space. Answering person was given our name, but didn't take the parking space number for pickup parking. The person mumbled something and hung up. We waited 50 minutes, however ordered groceries were not delivered. We asked an employe, delivering to other customers, and were told oir was not being yet. The person said the employee said they're running an hour plus filling orders. Said come back later. We saw many saw many cars pull into the pickup spaces only to drive away with no groceries. The employee we spoke to said the store changed the way the store picks orders. Instead of having one person pick one order, until complete for deliverery, the store now has several employees picking several orders in different orders departments then pooling the orders to fill several orders. The employee said the pickup orders are delayed for over an hour. The pickup order system at this Ralphs Hawthorne Bl and 282nd street is messed up. We never got a call about the delays. We went to get a take out meal and returned and called the number on the signs at the pickup parking spaces. We told the our name and got hung up on again. We received a call from this Ralphs pickup department, which said the last items for our order were being picked; call back in a half hour. As I write this 2 hours has past since our scheduled delivery time. We do not recommend this Ralphs for Ralphs pickup. The store needs to change their order filling system back to what it was. read more

Cashiers & baggers are always friendly, guys in the sushi dept have made me teriyaki bowls on request, and tonight, when they were out of a premade Italian sub i wanted, Danielle offered to make it fresh. This, unfortunately, is my neighborhood grocery, and I have shopped here for 25 years. It has been on the decline the last few years, and yesterday was my tipping point, as I will not go there again. A man, with whom I had a very scary encounter with in the past, was again in the store, walking a very aisle, loudly yelling at people and objects that they should be scared, and using the f-word. My previous encounter included him coming right up to me, pointing in my face, telling me to f-off, and that should be very afraid. So yesterday I kept my distance, but watched in disbelief as several employees walked right past him, not taking any notice. I finally called one young lady aside and asked her to call Security, as the man was clearly scaring shoppers like me. She comes back to me a few minutes later and states, "They're not willing to call them, as he is a regular, and always pays and moves on." Just. Wow. So I see the guy checking out later, he had on half-liter of Pepsi. I have a cart full. I did not ask for full on SWAT on the guy, just Security telling him to knock off the chatter and move on. My guess is, management at this store is scared to confront him themselves and too cheap to have full time Security. Shame on you Ralphs!!! read more

This store employs deceptive sales promos. Avoid this place! Promoting a sale price on an item usually purchased in single quantities, however the secret is you must buy four! All other chains offer the single price on sale items. Speaking to the manager is useless! They do not care for their customers at all! read more

It's a nice store however I've gotten here a few times after 6 am and the doors are still locked with no sign other than the one stating the store hours. Not even the sign to use the other door (which I do anyway and it's also locked.) Makes it hard to get things done in the early mornings. read more

This Ralph's has been in my neighborhood for years and I have watch them grow, they have everything an anything you need and the staff is so pleasant, I come here faithfully every weekend for the last 15 years spending $200+ on groceries. I have a little one who have food allergies and it is so difficult to purchase regular food for your family and a separate set of foods for your little one, I spend a bit of money weekly at this store. One day, I was corresponding with my nutritionist & allergist via text, pic text and on the phone and my stress level was at its height. While on my cell phone talking with my doctor, At the corner of my eye I see this older guy middle age, a Ralph staff member flirting a bit with a young girl, clearly you can see this was inappropriate, middle age man displaying a mid life crisis, trying to pick up on a young girl in her twenties, shame on you!. minding my own business, I'm talking to my physician, he walks by over to me telling me talking on my phone is not allowed, Vavoom did I blow up... He had no business butting his nose in my phone call while trying to impress his pseudo-machoism in front of this young girl... I curse this man to no end... He Then refuse to let me buy my groceries.. And it was full, I estimated $250+ I have not shopped the since for the last few months, his inappropriate behavior should have been noted to his corporate office, who are you to tell me I cannot use my cell phone while talking to my physician! read more

This store is in desperate need of courtesy clerks. For the third time I have bagged my own groceries while both the checker and management watched me. Complaints to the manager do not help nor do emails to Kroger. I don't get a response from Kroger at all and the managers couldn't care less. This is a great store it the service sucks. I only go to this store when I need something during my day at work, stuff like cough syrups or other medicines. My wife does our grocery shopping closer to home. But I'd noticed the deli section and kept saying to myself one day I'll try it. I finally did yesterday. My first impression while looking at the prices was "Wow, these sandwiches are expensive, but it's Redondo so it is what it is". I had the foot long roast beef with avocado, double meat on french sliced in half and wrapped separately (good thing I did this).This thing was big, significantly bigger than a Subway foot long! Also added the lunch special, chips and "small" soda for a dollar. I must tell you the roll was fresh, the meat tasted good, the avocado was firm (I dislike soft avocado), the lettuce was crisp and the flavor from the mayo and mustard was not overwhelming (some places really lay those two on thinking it helps the flavor). And good thing they were wrapped separately because I was barely able to finish the first half. It filled me up. I need to go back again and try other sandwiches for lunch. And the people behind the counter were polite and friendly. After all that, I realized the "expensive" sandwiches were actually fairly priced. read more

This Ralphs is pretty amazing. It not only has a huge variety of foods but it has some really good kitchen and gift items. You can buy all kindsof utensils, mixers and plates - ceramic and plastic. They have a huge July 4 display and I couldn't resist buying some items as gifts. I only wish it were closer to my house! read more

I shop at this location often as I live a few blocks away. It's a fine store. I wish they had shiitake mushrooms that I use a few times a week. They have some nice-looking sushi being made near the front of the store. Doesn't look authentic, but it does look tasty and the lady who makes it seems very serious and meticulous about it. I've had two odd customer-service experiences. I think it's more a reflection on customer service in this country than it is on just this store, but still, it happened here. I ordered six scallops (paella for two), and the guy paused and exclaimed, "six?!" as if he were mocking my request. Maybe he was hoping for "one pound" or something like that, but six was perfect for me, thanks very much! Minus one star. Then just tonight I was checking out and just as I was getting the receipt from the cashier another staff member came up and grilled the cashier: Did you clean the bathroom? Yes. Then why is this guy complaining about no toilet paper. Cashier: OK, OK..." For dogness sake, at least wait until the customer is out of the way before you start compounding your problems like that. Super basic error. Minus one star. Once I went there at 6:45 in the morning. Zero lanes open....customers had to use the self-checkout. Honestly, I always use, and prefer, the self-checkout.
