If the Spectrum salesmen inside the store don't go somewhere, my business will. I come to the grocery store to buy groceries, not internet. *Shock* I've been shopping here for 15 years and continued to even after I moved 2 cities away 10 years ago. I make the drive because I love the employees, the fresh, quality products, and the shopping experience I have here. This experience has recently been ruined by Spectrum salesmen on the hunt who can't tell when someone is in a hurry/doesn't want to be bothered. Obviously, the salesman I had an incident with today isn't very good at his job as he didn't pick up on the fact I was literally trying to sneak past him and avoid eye contact (because I was in a hurry!) I told him "I'm good, bro" as I walked past, to which he replied quite agressively, "oh, ARE YOU?" I spend way too much money here to put up with this crap. (Also, if you're a regular you already know what they're selling and don't want to hear their whole spiel. AND I already have stupid Spectrum!) DO NOT go to this Ralph's!!! The customer service is absolutely horrible. They only want you to self check out, but I needed a cashier because I had an entire cart full of stuff for Thanksgiving, I was looking for a cashier and 3 people told me to go to self check I said I can't because I have a whole cart full. Then they said oh and took their time to come over to to scan my stuff, there was no one to bag the groceries, so after everything was scanned she then had to bag everything, which she didn't scan all the like items together, and then she just threw everything in the bags, glasses can everything, just thrown in my bags. Then 2 of the people who should be ringing up customers were having an argument, to which the cashier replied it's too much drama for no reason early in the morning. It is Thanksgivings eve, the day is only going to get more crowded as the day goes on with more customers having carts full of stuff. I will not go to Ralph's again I will have to find somewhere else to go. Also their fresh produce doesn't look so hot you really have to pick over everything to find stuff that looks decent. Ralph's has just gone down hill in quality, cost, and customer service, since when do you have to check your self out, that's ridiculous unless you have only a couple of items, and most of the time people have a hard time in self check out and a cashier has to come to help. Supermarket reviews are not really my thing as I like to focus more on specialized places such as restaurants, hotels, etc.. However, since it's yelp, I had to share the news to everyone here... RALPHS's in Southern California is having an 8 hour sale! Here are some highlights on what you can get! Cheetos: Various selections, $0.99 each standard bag! (limit 4) Newcastle Brown Ale, Heineken, Amstel 12oz 12 pack bottles for only $8.88 (limit 2!) = $0.79 each with CRV! Awesome deals! I think there were a few more items but I wasn't really paying attention to others.. I'm like a secret agent where I scout out the location, find my target, and get the heck out of the dodge before more damages are inflicted upon my wallet!!! Remember! It's a promotion scheme to get you to come in and buy other items, but if you are diligent enough then you should be able to get in there and get exactly what you need. Savings are terrific if the process is done right! (Met a dude on the way out and he was so excited like it was Christmas! He was like.. Man... I gotta come back and grab more Newcastles! This Ralphs' parking lot is full of weirdos. I swear this one creepy guy waits for you to walk in then scratches your car and waits for you to come back out so he can try and charge you $40 to buff it out. I also got packaged organic chicken thighs from here that were a week away from expiring but were GREEN on the other side. Aside from those two things, this location has the best variety of produce and also baby items and I love that it's a large store and the aisles are wide and spread out! It definitely doesn't match the service the Manhattan beach location gives. read more

I live near this Ralph's. Actually, I live between this Ralph's and an Albertson's on Artesia. I've pretty much given up on the Albertson's. I haven't been there in over a year. I pass the Albertson's on my way to and from work every day, but I go to Ralph's instead. It's brightly lit, clean, well stocked, 24-hours, and it has self check-out... and I really, really like self-check out. The only way they could make self check-out better is if they'd implement some sort of pre-test; if you can't pass the pre-test, you're not allowed to attempt self check-out. Things will be better when I'm in charge. Ralph's is where I go to feed my addiction to Coffee Mate Fat Free French Vanilla creamer and other random food stuffs that aren't supplied by Costco or Whole Foods Market. The Coffee Mate Fat Free French Vanilla creamer is always well stocked at this Ralph's. That's enough to keep me coming back. read more

This review is based solely on this service I received at this location TODAY. this is my local Ralphs and come here for years for all my grocery shopping needs. Given, my boyfriend and I usually go late at night when the crowds are gone and the store is practically yours to browse thru. But today we decided to go at around 3pm on a Saturday because we were low on food and wanted to grab some essentials for the weekend. BAD IDEA. Everything was peachy until we got to the checkouts. Now I am an avid user of the self checkouts because I find it WAY faster and easier that I do it.Everything gets bagged correctly and priced right. But today was different, we decided to go thru the checkouts. the lines were long but not long enough to read a full cover page of a nearby tabloid Our cashier was THE STORE MANAGER HOWIE V. This guy was beyond rude and incompetent at his job. First, he just starts scanning our items and tossing them to the side like they're trash. Doesn't even ask if we have a rewards card, but I patiently wait to hand it to him in between tossing our groceries. He snatches it and tosses my card on the counter. I tell him "that was rude" and he just looks the other way. When he's done scanning our stuff, he begins to bag the remaining food that I haven't got to. My boyfriend had to literally instruct and tell the guy how to do his job of bagging!! Mixing glass with cans?? And not double bagging the obviously heavy stuff? I know we're on the verge of a global ban of plastic bags, but spare me the hassle of a mess to clean up or be ready to refund my money if anything breaks due to your stupidity. I don't know how he got this job or title of a store manager but Ralphs needs to seriously reconsider its staff. I came here and purchased frozen organic Mac n cheese. It was on sale from $9.99 to $2.50 and had a managers special tag on it. I got home and shared it with my 2 year old son. We both got food poisoning. When reviewing the box later, I couldn't find the expiration date. Low and behold it was underneath the managers special sticker and was 9 MONTHS EXPIRED!!!! we contacted the company and they only offered to reimburse us for the macoroni and settled on a $250 gift certificate to their own store when we threatened to sue. I used their Ralph's gift card to buy a visa gift card and I shopped elsewhere. This store failed my family big time. read more

This Ralph's is very close to my home which makes it convenient. The inside is a little run down but overall the store is organized and clean. There is also a Starbucks inside if you want to get the coffee fix. The only complaint I have is that they don't have a lot of registers open and the self-checkout machines usually malfunction. Be careful if you exit the store from the back lot. The MTA buses on the street obstruct the view of oncoming traffic. read more

I really used to like this Ralphs. It's quiet, the staff are always very nice, and parking is easy as pie. However, that changed today. I was looking forward to making some delicious crab cakes. I purchased everything I needed and drove home. As soon as I opened my trunk, I noticed an odd smell. I didn't think much of it though. I unloaded the groceries and begin prepping to make my crab cakes. As soon as I pulled the beautiful dungeness crab purchased today out of the bag, I noticed a strong odor. I continued undeterred and cracked the crab. What greeted me is one of the grossest things I've ever seen. The entire inside of the crab was completely liquefied and decaying. I cook seafood frequently and have never seen anything like this. It's going to be awhile before I eat crab again.... A big part of Ralphs' advertising is their Free Friday on Facebook. However, don't expect them to actually have the item in stock, or have it as an item they even carry! This happens all the time. We usually stop in to get the free items if we're in the area, only to wander through the store and realize they're sold out. For example, they had free tortilla chips. It's been over a week and they have yet to get any in stock. I'm starting to think they do it on purpose, hoping you're already in the store so you'll walk around and buy extra things. read more

At the beginning of COVID the Ralph's on Hawthorne was practicing safety to protect both its customers and employees. One way in. One way out. Limited the number of customers. One line for check out. Cleaned carts right in front of you. The last two times I shopped there, it's like before COVID. People are entering and exiting the same doors (and they have narrow entrances at this Ralph's), you can clean your own carts if you can find disinfectant wipes. As many people that can fit they let it. Last time it took me 23 minutes to check out. And they had multiple check out lines of equal length. It is clear this Ralph's is more concerned with revenue than safety. Be aware of their lack of safety policies at this location. read more

This was my first times inside Ralphs at this location. I wanted to pick up some pork ribs for dinner and they were on sale. I've avoided large supermarkets in the past and usually stick to places like Sprouts and Trader Joes. As mentioned in some other reviews, the customer service here is great. I spent the majority of my time in the meat department looking for the ribs that were on sale. The meat manager Jose B. was so polite, super helpful, and really friendly. He patiently took the time to tell me the difference in cut between two different pork ribs and how to cut them up once I get home. In addition, he answered my questions about how to best prepare the ribs. Before I left the meat section with my 6lbs of pork ribs, he offered to help me locate other items I needed in the store (since I must have looked completely lost and overwhelmed). Based on the experience I had today, I'm definitely open to going back to the Ralphs here. read more

I used their pick up service today. The app have no instructions on how to pick up and so I went to the store and looked for the pick up area, I couldn't find it so I went in and asked. I was told it go to the pick up area 123 and call. I went back outside and still couldn't find it. Went back in and asked someone. She walked me out to show me. It is on the far left side of the parking lot with no markings visible from the store only from that one corner of the parking lot. I called and was told to open my trunk and they would be out. I did so and went home. As I unloaded my groceries I noted half the items I ordered were not even in there. The app told me that they would replace my Charmin tp with kroger brand but my paper towels, chicken, croissants and a few other items were just missing. No notice or anything, just not there. I went to check the app for my purchase info and saw that they didn't charge me for this items but still had no idea they would not be there so half of my grocery list seems to have just been ignored. I then noticed that I was charged for my cans of tuna and have been trying to call for the past hour with no answer. I will never use Ralph's pick up service again. I've pass threw this Ralph's on my way home because it was convienet to stop and ask customer service some questions I had. My co-worker and where talking about discount for theme parks and who provide them. Then my co-worker mention that this store had some knots berry ticket at a reasonable price. So I decided to drop in but thought about twice being out in thier dark parking lot around 8pm. I walk toward a cashier's helper who greeted me with a smile and ask me if I needed help. The store look nice clean and neat.I then ask to see a manager for to see if they had some theme tickets I could buy. He walk over to the manager at the register and ask her about the tickets and her only answer was no. I then walk to her and ask her if she had more info but she wasn't very helpful nor did she was welcoming! This situation made me change my mind on shopping here also. I'm updating my review for the Starbucks. I went over today and the drink was perfect. Onya was making the drinks while she had a new cashier taking orders best new process ever. So happy w my caramel Mochiata w extra caramel.....Happy to see at Ralph's helping to improve this Starbucks execution. Ralph's added a Starbucks to this location and had a very poor execution of rolling it out. I would blame Jennifer and Onya but in reality it's Starbucks n Ralph's fault for their failures. I've only been here twice within 7 days and it's been horrible. My Java chip frap was made w no ice, they have been out of soy milk for days now so I walked to the South Bay galleria mall Starbucks. Today I say hey let's try them one more gain and to no avail I walk in and poor Jennifer is there struggling w a line of almost seven people as she tries to fill a large order and her partner Onya is on lunch and can't click back in. Jennifer apologizes so many times that it starts to not matter, I finally order and my drink is not the Starbucks way but I take it and run bcus I couldn't stay another twenty more minutes. There should be a third person trained to jump in when needed so that the service doesn't suffer. I felt bad for the employees as they felt helpless with no true support from Starbucks or Ralph's at this point. Poor execution is all I'll say. read more

I really love this Ralphs. I have been coming here for as long as I can remember and as long as I live in Lawndale or Redondo I will continue. It's weird to see reviews on rude staff. I have never once encountered someone that works their to be rude. Everyone is always helpful and knows exactly what to do. Their manager if on site is always walking around and helping people as well. The self checkout people are also on their game and that is a tough gig cause those machines can be such a pain. Great prices. Great service. Great area and good hours. I got my christmas tree from there for 40 bucks this past holiday! 7ft noble fir! across the street they wanted 85 bucks for a 5 ft noble! The produce area, where I buy most of my stuff, is very nice. They have made an attempt to carry more Asian produce, which is nice, but the prices for those are a bit high. The new fuel rewards program that started in April stinks! Shell stations are more expensive and actually out of the way to get to. Then you only get to save 10 cents per gallon. Didn't think I had to write a review about this Ralph's until this point but here we are. They're from old aged employees with terrible attitudes. Maybe it's because they're so old and cranky? The first time I received the wrong change and politely said "I think this is the wrong change." The cashier just looked at me, didn't say anything & gave me a dollar...? Like, okay? The most recent incident that happened was when I was at self checkout when I was grabbing a couple plastic bags next to this old lady to bag my groceries since there were none around me and I didn't realize those were specifically hers because they were in the spot the bags usually are for people to take and I didn't have any on my side so I assumed those were for anyone cause it was such a big stack. As I grabbed a couple bags I just heard an employee who was standing next to the self checkout yell "UM EXCUSE ME MAM?? YOU CANT TAKE THOSE?!" with the most annoying voice I've ever heard and as I turned around to look at her she gave me the dirtiest stink eye. Yummy sushi at a supermarket? Yes, I know- totally random. But I feel like it's such a find that I have to share it! I come to Ralphs to largely use my bank's ATM- one day, I was starving so I grabbed the ready made sushi rolls. Spicy tuna with brown rice. Right there- a plus. Brown rice- not a purist thing but I love it. The spiciness of the tuna was just right. I was shocked- could I be having a crush on supermarket rolls? Yes! Intrigued, I have since tried several other items - all tasty. A sweet little Asian lady makes them all right there- you can catch her intensely rolling her rolls with care and concentration. :) No, it's not top restaurant quality but come on, on the go and tasty rolls for five bucks? So very disappointed with Ralph's. Besides raising the prices, some of the workers are very rude and disrespectful. The people in the meat and produce section are very nice and friendly. But some of the "front" people are just rude. Today I was next in line at register, but Beverly could not stop talking to her coworkers who kept coming over. Soon 6 people behind me had gotten checked out on other registers and were leaving. When I got to the check stand there was no greeting, ok I can leave that. But then another 2 workers come up to Beverly and start making fun of other shoppers and mocking them...IN FRONT OF ME! Then she didn't say anything to me at all... no Thank you. No come again.
