With one glaring exception this is a pretty good supermarket. Great selection, fair pricing and helpful employees. The one exception is a troubling employee in the produce department. I've seen this loose wire get into it with a few customers over the years, and I guess today was my turn. You'll know the guy by the mask he wears and the trays he tosses noisily around. Anyway today I was about three feet away from him reaching for some fruit when he started barking at me in what sounded like Russian, or some made up accent. I immediately told him I was going to speak to the manager, which I did. At checkout the lady I often go to told me the guy marches to his own drum. Only a matter of time before he goes too far. It won't stop me from shopping there but Ralphs should know, and I'm sure they did long ago, that there is a potential for danger in their produce area as long as this special case working there. I'm not exaggerating when I say that this is my favorite supermarket ever. Sure, it's pretty normal. It's not like the market itself is that exceptional. But they have THE BEST STAFF that I have ever shopped with. The cashiers, the guards, the deli staff... everyone is so nice. Their hiring is very inclusive too. Huge compliments to both the store manager and the HR manager. I mean it... and I don't say this lightly. You're doing a great job and I love your store. Outside of this.. it's big, they have most things, the prices are fair, they're open late, parking is easy, and they often have great deals on beef. It's the only supermarket that I shop. read more

I have shopped at Ralph' s Market around 10:00 in the morning a few times. Each time there are no checkers and I have to go through the self check. The helpers in the self check are always distressed themselves. Sometimes the self check machines are not working and I can't put many groceries on at one time. Last time I left my groceries and walked out. I will not be returning. Shopping does not have to be stressful. I understand that work ethics are not the same these days. But it never fails at this store, and specifically, when you go to the deli, you are ignored by employees. They are most likely short staffed. However, they need to be trained on CUSTOMER SERVICE. They never acknowledge anyone standing there. They always prefer to chat to each other and continue tasking rather than helping a customer. Good experience ordering online for Pickup. Did a small order to try it out, just 9 items. Online pickup fee of $6.95 is waived at this time, so we didn't pay extra to have someone get items for us. You have to find a time slot that is open, then you select the items you want to buy. You can specify which items you will accept substitutes for. They didn't have 2 items that we designated as "no substitutes" so we did not get charged for them. They called when the order was ready, which was just before our time slot. The parking spaces for pickup are clearly marked. Just call when you arrive. We unlocked the trunk so we didn't have to get out of the car, and he came out and put our bags in. Items were in mostly decent shape, one box of chicken broth was intact but slightly dented, and the romaine looked fresh but had a couple of leaves with bruised edges. Ugh. Where to start... this place has gone down hill in the past five years that I've been shopping here. Everything is now geared toward preventing theft rather than actually helping paying customers or creating a good shopping experience. You have to purchase toiletry items seperately-- there is a glassed off section and they make you pay there for some things and then you have to stand in a second line to pay for the rest of your groceries (because we all have plenty of time to do that). The produce is awful. It lasts about two days before going completely bad. Multiple times, I've picked up items that were expired but still on the shelves. The last few times I went, they didn't have everything (like phyllo dough, frozen hashbrowns, etc.) so I had to make a second trip somewhere else. Today, when I went, there were no plastic bags in the meat department so I had to go all the way back to produce to get bags to prevent contaminating the other items in my cart with leaky meat packages. And there are not enough people to help with all the new self check out lanes (but why should they care if it's inconvenient for customers as long as they save money on hiring an actual person, right?) This Ralphs store in LA's south bay is not too different from any other Ralph's location in the vicinity. This place is big, clean, well-stocked, and run efficiently. I stopped by here to do some quick grocery shopping the other day. I was able to find what I needed in short order, and proceeded to check out. Fortunately, the checkout was quick, and I was on my way back home in no time. This is one of several good grocery options in the south bay. I don't have anything wrong with Ralph's or Kroger. It's the insurance that covers their employees I've just learned about. Ralph's routinely uses a third party carrier who starves injured employees by not giving them disability, medical treatment, and harassed them back to work. If you are a friend to good people, don't shop at Ralph's as long as Sedgwick Corporation is used as an insurer. Look it up on YouTube or anywhere. They are truly evil. I love Ralphs and their products but some of the employees could use a course in customer service. I was purchasing two bottles of bubbles that were 10/10 or1.00 each, the older white female cashier literally yelled at me and claimed I opened a package of bubbles and removed the two bottles I was buying. I explained there was a shelf full of them and what the sign said 10 for 10 and she proceeds to tell me no and that they were taken from a pack so I wasn't allowed to buy the bubbles. Kinda embarrassing but not worth arguing. I'll just get some at the store tomorrow. Been coming here for many years and always been pleasant until yesterday. I was at the bakery section with my husband and went around looking for chocolate chip muffins & didn't find any. So I went and go ahead and ask someone that was working behind the bakery counter if they have it elsewhere or if they have anymore left. She kindly asked me if I needed 4 count or 8 count. Then this employee name Michael was restocking merchandise and interrupted me & said "whatcha talking about???" in such a rude way. I simply replied to him that someone was already helping me. I've been hesitant to like this place because I was forced to shop here by both grocery stores closest to me closing down. I know it's silly but I've been forced to learn a new layout and it's not as "easy" to find things because of that (not because the store doesn't make it easy - they do). But today was a true testament to how comfortable this store may become to me. EVERYONE was shopping. It's only the end of the year folks - not the end of time! Seriously only 2 carts were left at all in the pickup area. But the store never felt as cluttered and claustrophobic as the parking lot did! Sure it was busy, but the lines were fully staffed and still moved quickly, the stuff was being restocked as we shopped so nothing was out of stock. I even saw an employee from one of the old stores shopping there so if it's good enough for them, I'll adapt! read more

By Ralphs offering the free service I am able to do other errands that require me to actually visit a location. The people are always friendly and place your items in your vehicle without any type of contact. I was help by Cat today and I offered her a $5 tip and she kindle rejected stating the could not,. This Ralphs feels HUGE and seems to have everything, a good selection to choose from and is both well lit and clean. The parking is easy and spacious. The area is convenient, located near the South Bay Galleria with lots of stores and restaurants in the surrounding area. As an added bonus... GO GREEN!!! THE RECYCLING CENTER... This is a good location because they also have an adjacent recycling center for bottles, cans and plastic to redeem your CRV (the $0.05 surcharge you pay when you purchase your beverages you can get back here bringing your "empties"), or recycle by the pound (I speculate you get less if you recycle by the LB, but it also is a quicker process, so if the issue is "going green" VS recouping your "deposit" money back it's up to you). Sometimes the wait is long and the machines are down, so if you see there's a line, it's not uncommon to wait for more than 30 minutes, as there's quite a few folks who use recycling to supplement their income, and if you're feeling generous you can always donate your cans etc to them instead of waiting in line for few bucks as an option. You redeem the voucher they issue you at the recycling center inside of Ralphs and can even do it at the self-checkout kiosks. read more

Not understanding why every time I go to this Ralphs, something is moldy. Once was KoolAid juice boxes which I still can't understand. Always the fruit and veggie section. On top of that there was a man walking around and checking the fruit. He just left the moldy ones there. It's simple, don't put moldy food out to sell. Ralph's has home delivery! Earlier this afternoon, Dianne, an angel of mercy from #instacart came a knocking on the front door. I suppose and hope that many Angelinos are heeding the Gov's directive to park our behinds at home. She brought several Ralph's bags of much needed food & beverage supplies. I wanted to hug her but resisted my innate urge to display my gratitude. Do you know that they are out there touching surfaces & standing in line at the grocery store where peeps still are not following social distancing protocols? I would imagine that those of us that earn a living working in the "gig" profession, rely on tips to help meet their budgetary overhead. So, if you don't get everything that you requested of them when they are doing a Ralph's run for you, don't use them as a punching bag to display your displeasure. Just because you didn't get your 3 lb. & 14 oz. jar of M & M because hoarders had just depleted Ralph's shelves, you shouldn't withhold your tip to them. Yup, there are a few folks who need a refresher course on tipping. Be kind, courteous (saying please and thank you is always a good start). One of best places to get flowers. Yasmine did such a wonderful job on the flowers. She helped us choose the flowers, vase, and arranged the flowers in less than fifteen minutes. It cost about $60. There is a picture of the arrangement under photos. Before we went to Ralph's we went Conroy's. Conroy's flowers were wilting and there wasn't much of a selection. . read more

BUT, the one important aspect of this Ralph's store is the pharmacy and Technicians and Pharmacists. I get greeted by my name.
