Bravo to Ralph's butchers / meat counter persons. I wanted a reasonably priced standing rib roast and decided to start with my neighborhood store. A butcherrolled out a tall rack with roasts prepped and packaged, ready to go. I found one exactly the size I wanted. I let it dry uncovered in the frig for a couple of days and roasted it for Christmas dinner: absolutely perfect. Bones were trimmed but tied on so we have those to gnaw on. Thanks!!! read more

I come here 4x a week after work. I work late so this is the only place open sadly. But I'll just stop further out of town now because I'm tired of this place. A couple guys here are the sweetest things but then you have a guy and an older chick (who seems like the manager) who are just useless. They refuse to open lanes even with a lot of people or people with a lot of stuff. Tonight we did self checkout and one of the items I got had a messed up bar code I didn't see but it said "$6.99 with card" on top so the price was RIGHT there he could have entered it. But instead, the guy who was joking around with the security guard, took it and said he couldn't leave his position (doing nothing) and so I couldn't buy it. It had the price...right there. Manually override it for us or have someone do it. Ridiculous. I'm sorry to the nice people here who actually help us and I'm sorry we work odd times and days and have to shop at night, but I'm over this self checkout bs. I've worked a deli close by Ralphs.Therefore, I know the "avoid " routine.Totally just ignore,don't lift your head and look in the direction of the customer or just hide in back!! Faith in humanity has been restored! And viable proof that genuine customer service still exists. Also they close at midnight NOT 2AM! Was unaware (thank you google.) and showed up ten minutes after midnight to find anti itch remedies so my son could sleep. The closing manager politely informed me that they are closed and explained that the website hours listed have been incorrect for months. Exhausted and desperate, I asked which stores were open, let her know what I was looking for and without hesitancy, she opened the doors and led me to the medicine aisle. It doesn't sound like much but after working a long shift and dealing with two sick kids, this small act of kindness and service really made an impact. Not a lot of retail or store employees would have done the same after closing. She's a gem and I hate that I'm so bad at names but I hope she reads this and realizes how much that meant for a tired, desperate, over worked mom. One star? Can I give minus?? Third time I've bought BAD MEAT from this store. Since beginning of the year. Chicken with three days until sell by and it was disgusting. Ralphs isn't my closest store. I'm done with them. Manageress was completely uninterested that I had to drive back 7 miles to exchange my protein for tonight's dinner. Treated me like I was the criminal? Seven bucks worth of chicken, I normally wouldn't bother, put it down to bad luck. But three times?? Naaaaaaaaaa It this time. A crap butcher has nothing to do with Covid-19. Just an idiot in charge. WILL NEVER GO TO THIS RALPHS AGAIN!!! My husband and I found everything we were looking for and went to self checkout and that's where it went wrong. We didn't have a phone number so we pushed no and it called an assistant to come and help us. So then it was fine after that and it asked us how many bags we had so we pushed the number and AGAIN it made an assistant come and help us out again. Idk if that happens all the time but if it's a regular thing management needs to check it out and fix that because nobody wants to wait 10 minutes just for someone to come push a button to let you checkout. read more

RUINED THANKSGIVING DINNER We ordered a cooked thanksgiving dinner from this Ralph's. When my mother in law arrived to pick it up she saw others leaving with giant boxes filled with cooked food. When it was her turn to pick it up the associate nonchalantly brought her out a bag filled with an uncooked turkey and items. My other in law asked "what is this, it's supposed to be cooked, why would I order an uncooked dinner for a near noon pickup on thanksgiving." Associate was completely un compassionate and just shrugged without any resolution. NO discount or reparations were offered for the horrible experience and ruining our thanksgiving dinner plans. Mother in law basically has pre paid at a premium rate for an uncooked thanksgiving dinner. Will NEVER shop here again on principle and horrible customer service response alone. And anyone that cares about good customer service should give their money to any other grocery store..... very very very disappointed. read more

I visited the Ralphs on Victoria last night and I purchased many items (actually 29), $128 worth. I asked for no bags due to the fact that I have many in my car and don't need to get anymore. I was very surprised that after I said that I was expected to put all my purchases back in my grocery cart. If I wanted to do my own "bagging" I would have gone to Aldi. RON: Dairy Dept.; if someone working in that store has a dumb look on their face, or simply says "I have never heard of that"? go to Ron...he bends over backwards for his customers, even if it has nothing to do with milk, eggs, or butter. LUIS: Produce; no matter what time of day, he has a smile and asks if you are finding everything that you need. Cannot find? He will. GINA: Courtesy Clerk; always friendly, personable, knows how to bag groceries with actual reusable bags you bring to the store, yourself. Listens, yet apologizes for other employees. Should never have to. All other customer service throughout this market? WOW!! When you ask them a question, they look at you like you are an Orange Apparition. I requested to speak with a manager 3 times a few days ago; completely ignored me, and went about their business. That was it for me after four (4) years of poor customer service. The only reason I am giving this store 4 stars is because the 4, listed above, earned it. I have received honest information from "higher ups" at Stater Brothers in Santa Clarita, as well as the newest store in Simi Valley to petition for a store in our area. My husband popped in here to pick up a sandwich for me for lunch from the deli section. I get it and see that it's not sealed. I'm not too stressed as I know mistakes happen and at a quick glance the sandwich looked fine. I open the container and immediately see tiny flies crawling throughout the sandwich. I thought this would be a good place to get hot food for lunch but with only an hour, there was no way. People were lining up at one end of the deli counter for sliced meats and I was waiting at the other end to get cooked food. After waiting 20 minutes, I asked the lady standing behind the counter if the guy slicing meats was the only one waiting on customers. She must be tired of answering that question because she snapped at me and said yes, just him. Would've been nice to know. I wouldn't have waited so long. Why would Ralphs have ONE person working at the deli/hot food counter at noon when people are coming in from the Government Center trying to get some lunch? This Ralph's located on Victoria is a nice change when it comes to grocery stores, when entering the store you just don't know what you'll find, I love the housewares section with china, utensils and so much more to look at. The Deli section is equipped with a salad bar, soups, and sandwiches, ready made food for lunches and dinners, you just are ripe with possibilities. While the prices can be high, just like any chain grocery store you have to look for the deals and grab then as they come. The clerks here have always been pleasant and very professional. Tip for the people who recycle at the center located in this shopping center, if you don't want to wait in a line, you can go to the self serve station scan it and a clerk will come up and put a code in and you can redeem your voucher, this saves you much more time than waiting in a long line. read more

Official store hours on the website are until 2am but I arrived shortly after 1:30am here and found one set of doors blocked by some sort of display stand while the other set of doors was open but inside had some weird arrangement of carts in front of it and I couldn't tell if the store was actually open or if they wanted me to leave. The rating is for one specific visit only.... I live in montalvo so this Ralphs is the closest grocery store near home. I usually drive to the Vons close by because of the two, the customer service is somewhat better overall. I needed a few things before I hurried home to a sick toddler, so I braced myself for another unpleasant visit to my local Ralphs store just so I could shave off some time getting home today. Marvin was the cashier at the checkout line I chose. I just want to say, thank you Marvin!! You were so genuinely kind and friendly I actually walked out of the store with a smile on my face. Thinking back on my recent visit I am struck by the notion that this short interaction with another person could lift my spirit and I realized how rare it is to feel sincerely welcomed in stores today. Every time I'm enter our local Ralph's I can't find anything. It's pretty unorganized and nothing makes sense. One of the register guys just threw my food down the line while I bagged it (due to COVID)....but truly customer service is not their thing. Another time we asked where an item would be & we were looked at as if we were Interrupting the guy (who was chatting with a co-worker) and we were really inconveniencing him. I actually blame the poor quality of organization, cleanliness, and customer service on management. I still shop here cuz it's local & there are some good deals ' a lot to choose from, but not my #1 grocery store. Yet it has so much potential...even during COVID. read more

Apparently Robert (the assisstant store manager) doesn't know how to greet customers when he looks at them directly in the eye. I was at the deli waiting to be helped and I know he saw me in the corner of my eye and proceeded to look at me again and walk away. Ken, on the other hand, was the complete opposite! Everytime I come in, he's willing to go out of his way and exceed expectations to help me with my order. There wasn't any mayo or mustard packets left so he went to the back and brought out some containers to put the condiments in. Completely unexpected and so helpful. I really appreciated it. On the surface, this location looks well organized, clean, etc. However, I've learned the hard way to check every item you buy very, very carefully. I purchased a 4-pack of corn on the cob, and opened it that night - smelled sour and was slimy. Had to go in the trash. On that same trip, we bought a bag of their tortilla chips (which are normally delicious) and they were totally stale. Upon further inspection there was a hole in the bag, which explains how stale they were. We also bought a container of lunch meat on that same trip (Sept 3) and realized later is said "Eat by August 27th". It was also slimy and obviously spoiled. Pretty annoying - I don't have time to go back to the store to get a refund. Will probably not shop there again as I don't have time to carefully inspect every grocery item I buy. read more

Every time I go deli it's slow. One person will purposely slice the deli meat so that over have of it is unusable. I see that others have been complaining but one brave soul tried to redeem them. I really like this grocery store because it is almost a one stop shop. There are a few isles of kitchenware to meet most of your culinary needs. Additionally, the produce and meat are pretty fresh. The store is clean and the staff are helpful. The variety of goods and prices are between your average supermarket and Whole Foods. read more

I like this Ralphs supermarket, but one of the guys in the deli can be quite slow at times, which is a drawback if he is on shift and you are in a hurry. My biggest complaint: Why don't they carry bottles of Crystal Geyser water, though?! They always seem to be short on that, or completely out. read more

Good for basics and staples. I like their coupon policy, and the self-checkout is helpful when I'm in a rush and only have a couple things. Most of the staff there are friendly and know me from having seen me come in several times a week for the last 2 years. That said, their produce SUCKS. I was there this morning as they were stocking and some of the melons in the produce section had visible mold on them. If this was the first time, I'd be willing to be a bit more lenient. But it's not. I've often seen produce items that were obviously past any real use put out at half price for manager's specials. Anyone want any translucent, soggy, limp, SLIMY alfalfa sprouts? How about a melon that's gone soft - hey, it's only rotten on ONE side! Or melded together strawberries? You can cut off the blue and white fuzzy bits..... YUCK. Pretty sad then the 99 Cents Only store across the street has better-looking produce. read more

My husband & I love this store we won't go to Costco....BUT today while shopping we saw three customers without masks on! This was disturbing! I asked the clerk that checked us out if Ralph's was following the mandatory mask wearing ? She said I thought so? This should be enforce, if that means the manager standing at the front doors. Nice large Ralphs, they have just about everything one could possibly look for in a grocery store, including kitchenware, pans, pots, etc... They have a nice bakery and sometimes I'll stop by to grab a carrot cake or something but most of all, they carry Paul Newman's dog food, which is made of really good stuff for pets. Their the only ones we know of in town that carry it so that is a huge plus. Plus they have a full service pharmacy inside even though CVS is just across the parking lot. read more
